Turning the Tide
Summary: After being tortured horribly at Malfoy Manor, Hermione is teleported to another location. Where did she go?
AN: I have no clue where this came from. I mean, yes, I have been reading some HP/SG1 crossovers but this popped in and refused to leave until I wrote it down! Arg! Muses! Anyway, SG1 is before Atlantis and I maybe, might have played with the timelines a bit. I love that I can do that with fanfiction! :D Also, I know the 'Golden Trio' spent two months at Shell Cottage while they healed and figured out their next move but I changed that a bit, sped it up. I mean, it's SG1 for cryin' out loud. ;) LOL Sorry but you'll just have to roll with it. :) Thanks for checking this out and hope you all stay safe out there! Love to you all!
Happy New Year!
Disclaimer: I make no money with this, just playing in the sandbox.

Janet Fraiser was finally able to breath. Several SG teams had been attacked while out and she had been busy patching them up for the last three hours straight. After sitting for a few minutes a bright light appeared causing Janet to jump to her feet and rush over to the bed wondering what was going on. As she took in the sight of a young woman on the bed bleeding, her memories cleared. The only person able to do that was her niece and only in dire circumstances.
After managing to straighten the young witch out from a fetal position, Janet gasped. Her niece was bleeding from multiple cuts all over her body and she was shaking. As Janet used one hand to apply pressure on the worst gash, her other hand was searching the pockets of Hermione's robes; several pockets later Janet managed to find the jar of dittany she knew would be there. Carefully she opened the lid and started applying it to the wounds, starting with the one she had her hand on. After almost an hour of sealing wounds and cleaning her niece up as well as she could, Janet got some smelling salts to wake Hermione up.
"Wha- Aunt Janet?" Hermione sluggishly asked.
"Hey, sweetheart, feeling better?" Janet smiled gently as she moved Hermione's hair out of her face before handing her a blood replenishing potion to drink.
"Yeah, where am I?" Hermione asked as she looked around but couldn't see much due to a privacy screen.
"You're at my work. What happened, Hermione?" Janet asked softly, trying to hide her concern when Hermione's face fell.
"I, um, we were captured and…taken to Malfoy Manor." Hermione stared past Janet's shoulder.
"Captured? By who? What's going on?" Janet demanded in a quiet voice.
"Oh, Aunt Janet, there's so much to tell you. Are we safe to talk here?" Hermione wanted to know as her eyes filled with tears. She had to be strong while with the boys but, right now, she could break down; her aunt would never judge her or think her weak.
"Give me a minute, I'll be right back." Janet stated and left after Hermione nodded.

"General, sir, a word?" Janet asked as she paused at Hammond's open door.
"Certainly, Doctor Fraiser, what can I do for you? Something wrong?" Hammond asked before frowning at the blood on Janet's lab coat and the look on her face.
Janet took a deep breath, "Remember when I signed on to work here what we talked about?"
"Yes."
"Well, sir, it's happened." Janet told him.
"Is your niece alright?" Hammond asked as he motioned to her coat.
"She is now, sir. I don't know yet what has happened or is going on but I'm sure Hermione doesn't want to tell it more than once." Janet answered.
"Understandable, I'll gather SG1 and meet you in the infirmary." Hammond stated as he rose and lifted the phone receiver to start dialing the various offices he needed to contact.
"Thank you, sir. I'll wait for you there." Janet nodded as she left as she made her way back to her niece.

After her Aunt left, Hermione searched her torn robes to find her wand so she could mend her clothes and clean herself up fully. The last thing she wanted was to look like she had been dragged through glass and nails when whoever arrived. She knew her Aunt had gone to her boss and let him know she was there.
When Hermione had taken her parents' memories and sent them away, with their prior permission and a serious discussion when everything settled down, she had contacted her Aunt. All Hermione knew was that her Aunt worked for the U.S. military but nothing else. However, she had taken a chance in telling her Aunt Janet about the magical world. Fortunately, she had found a spell she could cast that would keep her Aunt from knowing anything until it was needed. Hermione also found a spell that kept the magical governments from knowing she had told a muggle about their world. It was an ancient spell found in the Restricted Section which Hermione was happy to have found.
What had amazed her was that her Aunt hadn't been that surprised or quick to dismiss what she was saying, even without any display of proof. Her Aunt Janet had taken her at her word and it had been refreshing. While Hermione waited, she wondered what was going on. Where had her Aunt gone to? About twenty minutes later, her Aunt returned but didn't remove the screen. When Hermione looked at her questioningly, her Aunt gave her a small smile and patted her hand.
When Hermione went to clean her coat, her Aunt shook her head, "Not yet."
Ten minutes later a small group in fatigues and an older man in a uniform rapped on one of the metal bars. Her Aunt pulled a section away to open the area so they could all fit.
"Before anything is said, Hermione, please?" Janet looked to her niece who nodded before casting a silencing charm so no one but them could hear anything.
"Thank you. Now, General Hammond, I'd like to introduce you to my niece, Hermione Granger. Hermione, this is General Hammond, the commanding officer of this base."
"Hello, sir." Hermione gave a weak smile.
"Hello, young lady. You're looking better, I suspect." Hammond smiled at the timid girl.
Hermione looked down and gave a small smile, "Yes sir."
"Would someone like to explain what's going on?" Jack asked as he took in the scene, noting Janet's bloody lab coat.
"Doctor?" Hammond nodded to Janet.
"Well, most will come from Hermione but what I can tell you is that she is my niece and the only reason for her to be here would be due to dire circumstances but before she starts, let me introduce everyone." Janet answered as she squeezed Hermione's hand. "Hermione this is SG1: Colonel Jack O'Neill, Captain Samantha Carter, Doctor Daniel Jackson and Teal'c."
"So, um, I guess it's my turn?" Hermione looked to her Aunt and took a deep breath when she was given a nod.
"Will this include why Janet's coat has blood on it?" Sam inquired.
"Yes, but I need to do something first, please don't panic." Hermione stated as she pulled her wand to cast the spell that would block anyone from knowing she was breaking the Stature of Secrecy. Once done, she spent the next several hours explaining the magical world, including what was currently going on. To her surprise, every face was pulled tight in anger with a bit of awe when she showed them what she could do, including cleaning her Aunt's lab coat.
"You mean to tell me that they are allowing kids to fight in this war?" Jack seethed.
"Why aren't the adults doing anything?" Sam started pacing.
"Do you not have properly trained warriors, HermioneGranger?" Teal'c looked confused.
"We do but they're outnumbered due to so many supporting Riddle." Hermione answered. "As for the adults, I have no answer for you. I have often wondered myself why they don't stand up to the despot instead of pinning everything on a teenage wizard and his friends."
"How are we going to help, General?" Daniel asked.
"Miss Granger, would you mind telling us how you ended up here?" Hammond asked.
Hermione dropped her head before she summoned her strength.
"Harry messed up. Riddle's moniker is cursed. Say it and he can send his DeathEaters right to you." Hermione stated lowly.
"Then why was he saying it?" Jack demanded gently.
"Dumbledore, our former Headmaster, pushed for Riddle's name to be said and, inside the walls of Hogwarts, it was safe to do so but…" Hermione sighed.
"Outside those walls, this 'magical Hitler' pounces all who say it." Daniel finished for her.
"Yes. Harry didn't mean to, it was an honest mistake but it brought the Snatchers right to us. Unfortunately, I failed to place a scent cancelling spell around our area and they smelled my lotion and the smoke from our fire." Hermione shared.
"Hey, now, it's not your fault." Janet quickly hugged her niece. "You can't think of everything, sweetheart."
When Hermione raised her eyes to her Aunt's everyone could see how distraught she was.
"What happened afterwards, Miss Granger?" Hammond quietly prodded.
"One of the Snatchers cast a spell to cancel the Notice-Me-Not spell around our camp and we had to run but where we were was in the middle of a forest." Hermione told them.
"Harder to run through so they caught you." Sam stated.
"Yes and took us to Malfoy Manor…" Hermione shuddered and took a few deep breaths. "…where I was being tortured. One of our classmates, Draco Malfoy, claimed he didn't "recognize" Harry due to me having hit Harry with a swelling spell in the face to change his looks just as the Snatchers caught us. However, his insane Aunt, Bellatrix Lestrange, recognized me immediately. The boys were taken to the dungeon while I was held upstairs."
This time when she paused, Janet took Hermione into her arms and hugged her tight. She had seen the results of the torture and couldn't stop the flow of tears down her cheeks.
"Doc?" Jack asked quietly.
"Her clothes were shredded and she had cuts from head to toe, some deeper than others and she was shaking like a leaf." Janet's voice became hard by the time she finished.
"She, she wasn't…" Sam tried to ask.
"No!" Janet answered as Hermione shuddered again.
"I, I was teleported out before they could." Hermione's voice was full of fear. "The crazy bint had promised Greyback, a deranged werewolf, he could have me after she was done. The shivers are remnants of being under the Cruciatius Curse."
"He can't get you here." Daniel assured her.
"I can't stay here though. I have to go back! Harry needs me!" Hermione almost panicked.
"Calm down, you'll go back but not to that place." General Hammond assured her.
"How? I can't apparate that far. Do you have a floo?" Hermione wanted, no, needed to know.
"We do, actually." Janet told her. "When my memories returned, I remember using my military contacts to find a way." Here Janet paused as she looked to Hammond. "It's not exactly legal, sir." She admitted.
Hammond gave a nod, "It works in our favor at the moment, we'll get it sorted out after this mess is cleaned up."
"Thank you, sir." Janet smiled as Hermione relaxed.
"So, um, when do I get to leave?" Hermione asked.
"As soon as SG1 is ready." Hammond answered.
"They can't go with me! They won't be able to see anything, their not magicals!" Hermione's voice rose in pitch.
"Calm down, hon, you've forgotten what you gave me." Janet smiled as she excused herself. She walked over to a cabinet and unlocked the bottom drawer. "I found myself wondering why this drawer was locked but would quickly forget about it until you showed up."
When she came back, Janet was holding several medallions on cords.
"Oh! I gave you those so you could see the magical world if need be. Why did I give you so many though?" Hermione was confused.
"You said, just in case." Janet shrugged. "Looks like you were right, there's enough here for each of us."
"Each of us?" Sam quirked a brow at her friend.
"I'm going with you." Janet stated, using her doctor voice.
"Aren't you needed here, Aunt Janet?" Hermione asked. She wouldn't mind her Aunt being close but didn't want to take her away from her duties.
"General?" Janet looked to Hammond which made him chuckle.
"I'm sure we can do without Doctor Fraiser for a short time." Hammond nodded. "There's a Doctor Carson we'll have fill in."
"Thank you, sir." Janet breathed in relief. She really hadn't wanted to argue or have to leave without permission but she wasn't allowing her niece to go back to a battlefield without her. She may not be magical but she could help those injured as well as giving Hermione actual support.
"Alright campers, let's gear up, looks like we're going to war." Jack rocked back on his heels.
"SG1, you have a go. Watch yourselves and make sure to listen to Miss Granger." Hammond told them.
"Sir!" came from the five of them.
An hour later found SG1, Janet and Hermione driving to Janet's house so they could floo. Once at the house, Hermione pulled out a robe and made duplicates of it so they wouldn't stick out so bad.
"We have to wear this?" Jack frowned.
"Unless you want to be spotted as muggles immediately, yes." Hermione chuckled. "All British witches and wizards wear robes like these."
"Makes it kind of hard to fight in, doesn't it?" Daniel pondered.
"Well, since most in the magical world have no clue how to fight without a wand, movement isn't restricted at all." Hermione clarified.
"I don't like it." Jack grumbled as he put his robe on which made everyone chuckle. "Anything else?"
Hermione shook her head as she handed out the medallions. "Just put these on and I'll cast a sticking charm so you won't lose them."
After casting the charm, Hermione noticed Sam eyeing her. "Something wrong Captain Carter?"
"Sam, please and I would love to run a few tests on you." Sam answered.
"Well, if I'm still alive after the War is done, I don't see a problem with that." Hermione chuckled. She totally understood where the physicist was coming from, she was curious about the SGC and what they did there. Maybe she could learn more…if they survived.
"Now what happens?" Daniel asked.
"Now we use the floo powder to our next destination." Hermione answered.
"The fireplace will take us to where?" Teal'c wanted to know.
"To another floo that's connected. I figure we can floo to Hogsmeade Inn and, hopefully, figure out where Harry and Ron are at so we can join them." Hermione sighed.
"There's no way to know where they are until we are in enemy territory?" Jack frowned.
"No, wait…there's one thing I can try, not sure if it will work; just, don't shoot him." Hermione almost did a face palm. "Dobby!"
SG1 and Janet jumped when a strange creature with big eyes and long ears appeared before them.
"Missy Hermione, Harry Potter Sir has been worried abouts you." Dobby cried as he saw who had summoned him.
"Dobby, these are my friends, can you take us to where Harry and Ron are?" Hermione knelt down to hug the crazy elf.
"Dobby be glad to help Harry Potter Sir's Missy Hermione." Dobby grinned.
"Are they safe, Dobby?" Hermione needed to know.
"Theys with the Cursed Weasley, they are." Dobby smiled wider.
"Cursed Weasley?" Daniel hedged with a concerned look.
"He means Bill, Ron's oldest brother, he's a Curse Breaker." Hermione explained. "Alright, Dobby can you take us all at once?"
"Dobby can takes you all, Missy Hermione." Dobby confirmed.
"Actually, we should leave from the base, might need to come back." Daniel commented.
"Come back? Oh, you mean after the War, yeah, that makes sense." Hermione agreed.
"Also, if we need more weapons or medical or whatever, it would be a lot easier and quicker if we didn't have to drive there first." Jack added.
"Right, alright then, give us a bit and I will call you when we're at the base." Hermione told Dobby.
"I's wait for Missy Hermione to calls Dobby." Dobby nodded.
"Dobby!" Hermione called once back in the infirmary and smiled when Dobby appeared.
"Alright, everyone clasp hands and don't let go until we're there." Hermione explained. Once everyone had done so, she gave a nod to Dobby. She had thought about warning them how apparation felt but knew it would do no good. Although house elf apparation wasn't as rough as wizarding it was still a strange sensation to experience.

Once outside Shell Cottage on the beach, everyone but Hermione and Teal'c had to dust sand off their backsides.
"Okay, that was really weird." Jack commented.
"Definitely a new experience." Daniel stated.
"Quite strange indeed." Teal'c added.
"You guys do that all the time?" Sam asked.
"Yes but it does get better the more you do it." Hermione smiled before she turned toward the cottage as two young men came running out.
"Hermione!" Harry and Ron yelled as they engulfed their friend in a tight hug.
"Can't breathe." Hermione managed to breathe out.
"Sorry. Where were you?" Harry eyed the group with his best friend.
"Yeah, what happened?" Ron asked at the same time.
"That's a long story, will Bill mind some company?" Hermione looked to Ron.
"Nah, he'll be alright with it. Who are they?" Ron gestured to the small group.
"I'll introduce everyone inside, shall we?" Hermione answered as she wrapped an arm around each wizard and guided them toward the cottage.
"Hang on a sec, gotta have Bill lift the wards." Ron said as he trotted to the porch and stepped in. A few moments later, another red head stepped out, took in the group, smiled then lowered the wards so they could enter the home.
Once everyone was in, Hermione did introductions before she explained the situation to Bill, Fleur, Harry and Ron. When she finished, the four magicals were silent for a bit.
"Your military trained and muggles?" Bill finally spoke up.
"Yes" Jack answered.
"'ow were you able to zee the cottage?" Fleur asked.
"With these." Daniel answered as he moved his shirt to show his medallion.
"Ah" Bill smiled. "Leave it to our Hermione to remember something so vital."
"You don't look military." Ron blurted then turned as red as his hair.
Jack chuckled as he opened his robe to show his fatigues and weapons.
"You came prepared, excellent." Harry grinned.
"Prepared? What are their muggle weapons going to do?" Ron was confused over his friends' happiness.
"You would like a demonstration?" Teal'c cocked a brow.
"Yeah, I mean, if that's alright." Ron nodded.
"Actually, if you don't mind, I'd like to see what your weapons can do." Bill piped in with. "I've seen things like what you carry but have never seen them in action. Not sure how they'll do against magic though, might want to do a few tests before getting into combat."
"Good idea, got somewhere this could happen?" Sam looked at Bill.
"Down on the beach should work." Bill answered after some thought.
"Do your wards extend that far?" Janet wondered.
"No but we can put some up as soon as we get there." Bill assured as he led them down to a long stretch. He asked a few questions before erecting a couple of dummies a ways down then he encompassed the area in a shield so no one would hear or see them.
"Alright, let's see what you got." Bill grinned like a loon, not even trying to hide his excitement.
"Carter." Jack prompted.
Sam raised her P90 and shot the dummy, tearing it to pieces. She couldn't hold her grin in at the magicals' reactions.
"That's some firepower you've got there." Bill whistled.
"But how will it do against magic?" Harry pondered.
"Well, let's find out." Hermione bumped his shoulder.
"Alright but how can we do this safely?" Janet asked.
"Well, I could shield the dummy while Harry and Hermione shield us in case of ricochet." Bill suggested.
"Sounds good." Hermione agreed as Bill repaired the dummy and cast a shield while Harry and Hermione shielded the group by transfiguring a few rocks into shoulder height walls.
When Sam pulled the trigger, the bullets didn't penetrate the shield. They all fell to the ground with no impact damage. When everyone sighed, Sam got a calculating look instead.
"Carter?" Jack stepped up to his second in command as he recognized the look.
"Sam?" Daniel prodded when he saw her look, she was thinking something profound.
"Sir, you remember when we first encountered the Nox?" Sam asked.
"Yep, what's your point?" Jack wanted to know.
"Well, sir, remember when we found Apophis in the open? What happened when he activated his shield?" Sam prompted.
Jack took a moment before a grin spread across his face. "That's right. Our weapons couldn't hurt him…Bill, would you mind reshielding the dummy?"
Bill cocked a brow but reshielded and stepped away just as Jack pulled a dagger and threw it. It hit the dummy right in the heart. After the shock wore off, the magicals all cheered.
"Can you do zat every time?" Fleur asked.
"Yes ma'am!" Jack nodded.
"O'Neill?" Teal'c spoke up.
"Yeah, Teal'c?" Jack turned to the Jaffa.
"Do you think my staff weapon would have any impact?" Teal'c asked.
"Don't know, give it a try." Jack grinned as Bill removed the knife, reshielded the dummy and then stepped back.
Teal'c raised his weapon and fired…burning a huge hole in the center of the dummy much to everyone's amazement.
"Why did Teal'c's weapon make it through?" Daniel asked.
"It's an energy weapon unlike our P90s. It must be on the same wavelength as the magical shield." Sam thought out loud.
"That would make sense. I mean, the goa'uld would expect gunfire from you but not a staff weapon to be aimed their way." Hermione suggested.
"Actually, the shield used by goa'ulds also blocks the staff weapons since they all use them and are constantly trying to take over each other's areas." Sam informed.
"Well, I guess you're theory is right then." Harry commented.
"Let's just be happy it works. You have any more of those?" Bill asked.
"I think so, Sam?" Daniel answered.
"I'd have to get permission from General Hammond but we might." Sam answered.
"Dobby could take you there and bring you back." Harry offered. "Dobby!"
"Yes, Harry Potter Sir!" Dobby hopped from foot to foot happy to be called upon again.
"Dobby, would take Captain Carter back to…." Harry looked to Sam.
"The SGC" Sam filled in.
"Yeah, there, would you do that for me?" Harry asked the little elf.
"Oh, Dobby bes happy to help Harry Potter Sir's Captain Carter!" Dobby almost vibrated with his excitement.
"You'll need to bring her back too, Dobby." Hermione added as she smiled at the elf.
"Dobby waits as long as needed, Missy Mione." Dobby assured as he walked over to Sam and held out his hand.
"See ya soon Carter." Jack smiled and saluted her.
Sam took Dobby's little hand and held on as he apparated them to the SGC. She told him to wait in the infirmary, after concealing himself, and she would be right back.
Once she explained the situation to Hammond, he gave her permission to take as many as she needed. Sam grabbed ten staff weapons, since Teal'c already had one, and headed back to the infirmary. When Dobby noticed the trouble she was having, he snapped his fingers and shrunk them down. Sam had also grabbed two cases of Zats for everyone thinking if the staff weapons worked, then maybe the Zats would too. It was worth a try. Dobby apparated them back to Shell Cottage after he summoned a bag to put all the weapons in.
The next several days were used to teach the magicals how to use the weapons. Bill put a disillusionment charm on each one so they couldn't be seen; the fewer who knew about them, the better. After everyone felt comfortable enough with the staff weapons, they started on strategy. At first, SG1 tried to figure a way that no one else would be involved but soon nixed the idea. Since no one could get to Riddle, Jack suggested a few small groups even the odds a bit. Bill suggested contacting Kingsley Shacklebolt to see if they could pair up with an Auror for their own raids.
When Kingsley welcomed the help and agreed to set up a few groups that could be trusted, the tables started to slowly turn. Finally the Light was able to dwindle down the DeathEater numbers. One of the best things to happen was when Jack, Kingsley and Bill were able to take out Fenrir Greyback before he could attack an orphanage. They had heard rumors, of course, but weren't sure if they were at the right one. When Bill's ward was tripped, the ward he was able to customize to Greyback due to him having been attacked and scarred by the werewolf, the three of them had moved swiftly and with great prejudice. After dispatching the crazed wizard, Kingsley breathed a sigh of relief. The good thing was that they were able to take out five more from Greyback's pack. Kingsley assured Bill and Jack he would let the others know so they could be on the lookout for the other pack members; they would give in to their baser instincts without Fenrir to "guide" them, not that Greyback really guided them. They all hoped the rest would be easier to catch and put down.
The next month was spent with various ambushes. A few were injured during this but between Janet and Poppy and those at St. Mungo's; all were able to survive their injuries. Janet worked well with Poppy, treating stubborn patients like she would the soldiers she tended to. Poppy had had a grand laugh when the petite muggle doctor went toe-to-toe with magicals two to three times her size and brought them down several pegs. Janet smirked when several patients called her a mini-Poppy; it was a high compliment. As the time drew closer for an all out confrontation, SG1 stepped up their efforts. The more they could take out, the higher the chances of the War ending quicker and with fewer casualties.
A week before the Final Battle would happen; Sam learned what the Ministry was doing to muggle-borns and those with creature inheritances. She talked with the Auror assigned to her, Tonks, to see what they could do. It was cold blooded murder and Sam wouldn't stand for it if she could do something about it. Between Tonks, Hermione and Sam, they came up with a way to infiltrate the Ministry and save as many as they could. Sadly, many had already lost their lives but however many they could save would be worth the risk.
Once inside, Tonks disillusioned Sam and Hermione as they made their way to the lower court rooms. When they entered after a DeathEater left enough room for them to sneak in as he received his orders they took a look around, Hermione hissed seeing Dolores Umbridge presiding over the "trials" with Dementors floating along the walls waiting to Kiss who they were told to. After making their way to a corner, the three women figured out their strategy. They would have to work fast to get as many as they could before the element of surprise wore off. Sam, listening to her instincts, aimed for the Dementors hoping the staff weapon would damage them. When they were done, Umbridge and the four other DeathEaters lay stunned on the floor and the Dementors had all been terminated with the staff weapon. After securing the five stunned DeathEaters, the trio made their way down to the holding cells to help those held captive to escape. The resulting chaos was music to their ears as DeathEaters tried to figure out what had happened. Over the next week, the three women stayed close to the Ministry to keep as many innocents as possible alive and unharmed.
The group to do the most damage to the DeathEaters was Kingsley, Bill and Jack. Kingsley's experience as a Senior Auror had given him skills the others had not while Bill learned how to be careful and stealthy as well as judging a situation quickly from being in so many booby-trapped tombs. Of course Jack's Black Ops training rounded the trio off nicely. Their group took on larger parties of DeathEaters with ease and few injuries. Jack had commented about the arrogance of the ones they encountered, so sure of their superiority which Kings and Bill quickly agreed with.
The day of the Final Battle, Voldemort's army had been cut by a third and that didn't take into consideration any of the creatures that had been taken out. As the time drew nearer for a full confrontation, the higher tensions rose. The small groups had done plenty of damage to even the playing field but had they done enough crossed everyone's minds. It was March thirty-first when Harry gathered everyone to announce he was ready to end the War. They had gathered at Hogshead Inn to discuss how they would bring an end to Voldemort's reign of terror. Aberforth suggested they use the portrait of his sister to sneak into Hogwarts. As the group was about to go through, Jack suddenly disappeared.
"For cryin' out loud!" Jack exclaimed as he found himself aboard an Asgard ship. "Really, Thor, you're timing could be better."
"Good evening, O'Neill." Thor greeted his visitor nonplussed. "You're General Hammond contacted us and asked for our assistance."
"Of course he did. A head's up would've been nice." Jack grumbled.
"How may I assist you, O'Neill?" Thor asked.
"I'm not sure you can." Jack answered automatically before he thought a moment. "You can read energy, right?"
"Of course." Thor answered.
"Alright, I need you to beam me back down so I can grab someone to help out." Jack barely managed to say before he was back in the pub.
"Thor?" Sam smirked and Jack gave her an of course it is look.
"Kingsley, Bill you need to come with me." Jack called out and grabbed an arm each just before another beam took him away leaving all but SG1 and Janet dumbfounded.
"Okay, Kings, Bill this is Thor. Thor, Kingsley Shacklebolt and Bill Weasley." Jack introduced and was pleased to see both wizards keep their cool at seeing a small gray alien with big eyes.
"Now, Thor here can see energies with his super computer. I need you two to help him pick out the energy of the Dark Mark." Jack explained.
"We could do that or I could tell you who to bring up here with a Mark so no guessing is done." Kingsley offered as Bill and Jack looked at him.
"That would be most helpful, Kingsley Shacklebolt." Thor told him. "Where shall I send you?"
Kings then explained where the Headmaster's office was at in the castle and Thor was able to beam him down after Kingsley disillusioned himself, never knew who might be in the office after all.
"Severus." Kingsley greeted once he saw it was clear to show himself.
"Kingsley" Severus Snape replied.
"I need you to come with me." Kingsley held out his hand.
"Why? How did you get in here?" Severus' voice was suspicious.
"Nothing will happen and we don't have the time for explanations. You asked me once to trust you, now I am asking the same." Kingsley replied.
Snape stared at the wizard for a moment and decided to go with his instincts which were telling him to trust Kingsley; that something was up and it would change the direction of the War. Standing up, Severus walked over and took Kingsley's hand. Not a moment later, they were both aboard Thor's ship. Severus looked around and like the other two, kept his cool although his eyes did widen a bit.
"We need you to show the Dark Mark to Thor so he can know which energy signatures to pick up." Jack instructed.
"What is he doing here?" Bill's voice was full of distrust.
"He's on our side, Bill, has been for many years." Kingsley stated calmly.
"He killed Dumbledore!" Bill hissed.
"Under Albus' orders. Now, we need his help so no innocents are taken." Kingsley used his Auror voice which calmed Bill a little.
"Where do you need me?" Severus asked used to being judged, it's what happened when one was a good spy.
"Over here please." Thor voiced.
When Severus reached the small creature, he pulled his sleeve back to show the Dark Mark.
"O'Neill, this Mark has its own signature. Separating its signature from others will not be a problem." Thor shared.
"Yes!" Jack exclaimed. "How many are there?" Jack asked Severus.
"Hundreds but not all DeathEaters have the Mark, only a select few." Severus shared.
"Is there a way to separate them from those of the Light?" Kingsley asked.
"They will have a much darker signature than those like you since they cast dark magic on a regular basis. It does not leave the caster unmarked." Severus told them.
"I will need a baseline." Thor instructed.
"Not sure either of us would be a good baseline since we have cast some dark magic in defense." Bill commented.
"Do you cast it everyday?" Severus' brow rose.
"Absolutely not but we have done our share though." Bill answered
"Then you should do fine but as a precaution if you would allow me to cast a spell, I can tell you how light you are." Severus suggested.
"If it helps, fine." Bill cautiously stepped away so the spell wouldn't combine his and Kingsley's results, not knowing what the spell did.
Severus cast the spell on them and then on himself. The results were shocking. Bill and Kingsley had a bit of darkness in their aura but nothing like Severus'. As they stood there, Thor took readings.
"I have what I need, O'Neill. I will be able to teleport only those with darkness." Thor told them. "My scans show a being with a much darker signature."
"That would be the Dark Lord. You must leave him for Potter to face." Severus stated.
"Why?" Kingsley asked.
"Do you really hate Harry that much?" Bill hissed.
"Whether I like the boy or not has no bearing, he must be the one to face Voldemort in the end." Severus sneered. "Only Potter can end the Dark Lord permanently."
"The prophecy?" Kingsley prodded.
"Yes" Severus' face returned to his normal stoic expression.
"Do you have enough to help?" Jack asked Thor before a fight could break out.
"Yes." Thor stated.
"You have enough room for that many?" Bill wanted to know.
"It will not be a problem." Thor answered. "Is there a, preferred, way to contain them?"
"I'd use your strongest shield since we don't know how their magic will respond. Also, this has to happen tomorrow, that's when Harry wants to do it." Jack said after giving it some thought. "I'll let you know when."
"Very well, I will keep communications open." Thor said as he returned the four men where they were meant to be.

"So?" Sam asked once Jack, Bill and Kingsley returned.
"He'll help." Jack shared.
"That'll make things easier." Daniel commented.
"Who will help?" Hermione asked.
"A friend, the less you know the better." Jack's voice left no room for questions.
"How will he help?" Ron asked, not catching Jack's tone.
"By leveling the playing field." Sam answered.
"How will he do that?" Ron asked and was met with stony silence.
"Let it go, Ron." Hermione urged her friend.
"What?" Ron looked to her like she was mental.
"Let it go, some things we don't need to know." Harry backed Hermione up knowing that the military liked their secrets.
"Fine." Ron pouted but dropped the questions.
The rest of the night was spent making tentative plans for the next day.

The next afternoon, Harry led the small group through the portrait to Hogwarts. Along the way, they ran into Neville who had been escorting a few younger years down.
"Harry!" Neville greeted when he realized who was before him then he took in the small group. "Who's with you?"
"Neville, good to see you. These are my friends and they're here to help in the fight." Harry answered.
"Really?!" Neville grinned. "We need all the help we can get."
"I know." Harry commented before using his hand to ask Neville to lead the way.
"Hang on just a sec, I need to get these young ones to the pub, be right back." Neville stated as everyone made room for him and his brood to pass by.
"How many have you gotten out?" Harry asked once Neville had returned.
"Most of the fourth years and down from Gryffindor, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff." Neville answered.
"No Slytherins?" Hermione wondered.
"Nope, although I'm pretty sure someone has gotten the lower years out or at least safe, haven't seen many today." Neville shared and hoped he was right.
"How are you keeping the DeathEaters from realizing what you're doing?" Harry asked.
"Oh! Professor McGonagall has made golems out of quills and we infused a bit of the person into it so nothing seems off." Neville shared with pride.
"What about meal times? Won't the silence alert them?" Harry wondered.
"There's no talking during meals now." Neville explained.
"That's harsh." Ron stated.
"But needed, this way no one gets in trouble for saying something they shouldn't." Neville's expression showed the consequences needed to be avoided at all costs.
"And since no talking is done except for the common rooms, there's nothing to tip them off. Brilliant, mate!" Ron clapped Neville on the back.
When they entered the Room of Requirement, they were greeted with cheers from those gathered.
"Wow! Nice work!" Harry whistled.
"Thanks, it's the only place we're safe." Neville blushed a bit at the praise.
"Snape let DeathEaters run free here?" Ron sneered.
"Actually, Headmaster Snape has tried to keep as many safe as he can. Anyone found out alone…well, let's just say it isn't pretty." Neville told them.
"Yeah, right." Ron angrily said.
"It's true, Ron." Ginny said just before she hugged her brother tightly, relieved to see him alive and well.
"So Snape's told you he's on our side?" Ron challenged.
"He didn't have to, Ron. Headmaster Snape changed the rules. We all go to meals together, we all leave together and there's no talking outside of common rooms." Ginny informed her brother with her hands on her hips.
"Wh-" Ron started only to be interrupted.
"Why such strictness?" Daniel asked.
"Because anyone found alone are raped, tortured or used as target practice." Neville answered solemnly.
"That's horrible." Sam stated.
"It is but Headmaster Snape has done his best to keep us all as protected as he can. Unfortunately, some have been caught. It's how we know what happens." Ginny stated sadly.
"Have either of you been caught?" Ron asked suspiciously.
"Yes." They both answered.
"We can handle the "punishments" better than younger years so we have disillusioned those we can to save them and taken whatever those bloody bastards dish out." Neville answered proudly but his voice also held disgust.
"I'll kill them for touching you!" Ron's look turned thunderous.
"Calm down!" Ginny exclaimed to her brother. "No one has actually been sexually abused thanks to Hermione."
"What do you mean?" Janet wanted clarification. What had her niece done?
"When we knew we would have to go on the run, I searched the Restricted Section vigorously for anything that would help. I found a book that had spells to protect anyone from violation. It would give the illusion that the person committing the act was truly committing it but no penetration or anything else would happen to the victim. Unfortunately, it doesn't help with the trauma of knowing what their intentions are…" Hermione trailed off.
"That can be dealt with a lot easier than the act itself being done, trust me." Janet offered. She had seen too many violations during her time as a medical examiner and it was never pretty.
"She's right, you know." Harry hugged Hermione to reassure her. "Don't get me wrong, it's still traumatic but nothing compared to having to deal with the act itself."
"I suppose." Hermione conceded. "How many were you able to cast it on?"
"All of us." Ginny shared.
"You mean all but Slytherin." Ron stated.
"No, I mean, all of us." Ginny smiled. "Neville and I were able to pass it along to a few higher years so they could protect everyone in Slytherin."
"That's great, Gin!" Bill embraced his sister, proud of her for figuring out a way to help the perceived enemy.
"Not to cut the reunion short but we have plans to make." Jack walked forward.
"Who are you?" Neville and Ginny looked to the small group. Bill made the introductions and they began making plans.
Harry chose to wait until after lunch to make himself known that way everyone would be present and at least one of them would notify snake-face.
The small group made their way down to the Great Hall during lunch with Bill disillusioning them. They had to make their way by the DeathEaters patrolling after all. Once inside the Hall, Harry taunted Severus and smirked when one of the Carrows sent the Dark Mark up, alerting their lord.
It was twenty minutes later when Voldemort announced his arrival. The small group made their way out to the green where Voldemort was waiting for them.
"Now Thor." Jack calmly said before a large wide beam pulled every DeathEater up with the exception of Severus Snape and Draco Malfoy, who no one knew had switched sides.
"What isss thisss?" Voldemort hissed when he saw his DeathEaters had all been taken away.
"Magic you know not." Harry stated as he faced the creature that had been tormenting him all his life.
"You lie!" Voldemort yelled.
"I do not. Can you explain where they went?" Harry smirked.
"It matters not, I will still defeat you!" Voldemort sneered.
"I doubt that but let's get this show on the road." Harry raised his wand.
When the spells collided, everyone else started taking down the remaining army of darkness, well, after the magicals cast multiple sunlight spells to take out any vampires present. Next, SG1 along with the others who had staff weapons started targeting the creatures. By the time all the werewolves, Acromantulas, trolls, giants and whatever else was in the shadows had fallen Voldemort had fallen.
What stopped everyone in their tracks was Hermione's scream.
"HARRY!" Hermione screamed as she ran towards her fallen best friend. He was lying on the ground, not moving. When she reached his side, she sighed in relief when she felt his heartbeat, shallow but there. A few minutes later, Harry slowly opened his eyes.
"Did we win?" He asked.
"We did!" Hermione told him as she hugged him tightly.
"Can't breathe, 'Mione." Harry wheezed out.
"Don't do that to me again, you prat!" Hermione smiled as she swatted his chest.
"Didn't plan to this time but…" Harry smiled back and looked around. "How many did we lose?"
"None!" Jack answered as he knelt next to Harry. "How ya feelin'?"
"A bit drained but good. No one? Wow!" Harry answered.
"Not one fell on our side thanks to Thor." Daniel smiled at the young man.
"That's great! What about the others? Trolls, giants…" Harry wondered.
"Well, they may be immune or highly resistant to magic but not a staff weapon or a P90." Bill told him.
"Excellent!" Harry's smile grew.
"And, with the Zat's we were able to dispose of the bodies…no muss, no fuss." Hermione shared.
"Hogwarts?" Harry wanted to know.
"See for yourself, HarryPotter." Teal'c offered his hand to help the wizard up.
Accepting the hand, Harry stood wobbly for a moment before letting out a whoop over the castle not having suffered any damage.
"I can't thank you guys enough!" Harry told SG1.
"No thanks are necessary, we were happy to help." Daniel smiled.
As everyone made their way back to the castle, Jack disappeared mid-stride.
"Really, Thor?!" Jack good-naturedly grumbled.
"Apologies, O'Neill, but what should I do with those in the hold?" Thor asked.
"Oh, right. Well, beam me back down so I can ask. Th-" Jack said.
"-anks." He finished as he jogged to catch up to the group.
"Hey, where should the, um, others be put?" Jack asked.
"Oh, right, um, I'm not sure." Harry thought about it and had no clue.
"Kingsley!" Hermione yelled to get the Auror's attention.
"Yes, Miss Granger?" Kingsley asked once he was close enough.
"Where do you want the DeathEaters beamed to?" Jack leaned in to ask.
"Oh, yes, let me just pop over to check the Ministry's cells." Kingsley answered before apparating away.
"If your friend can lock onto my signature, he may deliver the packages." Kingsley's patronus told Jack quietly.
"Thor?" Jack said quietly then another patronus showed up.
"They're here. Tell…your friend… I say thank you very much." The patronus delivered before disappearing.
After making sure everything was on the up and up, Harry called Dobby to return SG1 to their base minus Janet. She decided to stay a bit longer to help with those in need of medical attention and to spend some time with her niece.
