We follow the broken family right after Agathe has passed away. How will the children and their father cope with such a big loss? Inspired by Hilda Furacão. A story that centers around the turbulent dynamic between Georg, a disillusioned man living in Stuwerviertel, and Maria, a devout postulant advocating for reform in the district. Maria's unwavering faith clashes with Georg's hardened worldview, and both struggle to reconcile their past with their present roles in each other's lives.

Georg is afraid that his family may not make it to the new life that he hopes they can all have together, but he's willing to do anything and everything in his power to get them there—all of them.

"And why do you stare at me that way?" "I can't help but think, sir—" "Yes?" "We've met before." The Captain was no stranger, Maria discovered some time after being sent to the von Trapp household as a teacher and governess for the summer. No, she and the Captain were not strangers at all. (AU, main body of the story begins in 1933.)

Maria's face was very flushed that night, but not just from emotion and the exercise of dancing. Her rapidly-worsening illness halts her flight from the villa, and the Captain is forced to contend with the possibility of, once again, losing a woman he loves.
