Chapter 50.
Chaos at the city.
(The events of this arc take place after the meeting between All Might and Yamikumo but before UA's entrance exam.)
- "One for All…"- Yamikumo, also known as the vigilante Headhunter, finds himself watching the city at night, still thinking about his encounter with the number one hero and everything he learned. – "Something like that exists... I'm an idiot, I should have accepted that offer..."-
Before he can continue with that thought, something catches his attention: a building on fire, using his fire and telekinesis Yamikumo approaches the building. – "There is no hero nearby... green light to act."- Without wasting any time, Yamikumo jumps up and proceeds to enter the building through a window. – "Let's do this quickly but carefully."-
Yamikumo begins to advance looking for people in danger, thanks to his quirk he does not need to be careful with the fire, soon he meets the first people who are trapped in the fire. – "Don't worry, everything will be fine!"- Yamikumo said, luckily thanks to his mask they can't recognize him.
Using his control over fire, Yamikumo puts out the fire that has trapped the two people, Yamikumo quickly carries them over his shoulder and proceeds to take them out of the building.
After taking him out, Yamikumo quickly enters again to look for more people who he finds and carries them again to get them out of the building, however halfway he runs into someone.
- "Hey! Who are you?!"- A woman with white hair, black skin and rabbit ears asks while carrying some people.
- "Sh*t, Mirko is here!"- Yamikumo thought. – "Hmm... could we leave that part for later? You know, after we get these people out of here!"-
Mirko looks around and then nods. – "Yes, I guess you're right."- She said.
After this, both continue on their way to get the people out of the building, but then a piece of burning roof falls in front of them. – "Shit, road's closed!"- Mirko said.
- "Not for long."- Yamikumo said using his quirk to put out the fire.
- "And why don't you do that with the entire building?"- Mirko asked as they both continued on their way.
- "I can't put out such a large amount of fire."- Yamikumo said.
They both continue on their way until they finally manage to leave the building.
When they leave the building, they both see that other heroes have arrived, among them Backdraft who is putting out the fire. – "I guess they can take care of the rest... so who are you..."- Mirko asks but turns around and sees Yamikumo sneaking away from the scene.
Yamikumo is leaving but Mirko appears in front of him. – "Leaving so soon?"- Mirko asked.
- "Well… the job's done so…"- Yamikumo said.
- "Why not stay and help?"- Mirko asked. – "Maybe you don't want the heroes to see you?"-
- "No… It's not that…"- Yamikumo said.
- "You may not be authorized to act as a hero but you still do it... or am I wrong…"- Mirko said. – "Headhunter."-
This surprises Yamikumo. - "What did you call me?"- He asked.
Mirko smiles and attacks Yamikumo with a punch, who out of pure instinct dodges the blow and hits Mirko in the face.
- "Oh sh*t…"- Yamikumo muttered.
Mirko just raises his face and looks at Yamikumo with a smile. – "Oh I love it when they resist..."- She said.
Mirko attacks Yamikumo with several kicks but he begins to dodge them, then counterattacks with a punch which Mirko dodges, but Yamikumo takes advantage of this to grab her by the back of her clothes and throw her against a wall.
- "Ouch... I think I broke something..."- Mirko said in the floor.
- "Are you okay?"- Yamikumo asked.
- "Just kidding."- Mirko said as he knocked down Yamikumo with a kick to his feet and then kicked him so that he crashed into the wall.
Mirko gets up and tackles Yamikumo who reflexively tries to move away using his fire causing both of them to fly away.
- "Aaah!"- They both scream while some heroes only watch as the two fly away.
- "Is that Mirko?"- One of the heroes asked.
- "Yes... but I didn't recognize the other one."- Another one said.
- "Shouldn't we do something?"- The first one asked.
- "Nah. Let her handle that."- The other said.
Meanwhile with Mirko and Yamikumo…
- "So... illegal quirk use, huh?"- Mirko asked.
- "Wha…"- Yamikumo asks but is hit in the face by Mirko causing him to put out his fire and both of them go through a window and crash into a fish tank, which luckily was without fish, getting both of them wet. – "This is great…"- Yamikumo said as he raises his body temperature to dry off.
At that Mirko charges at him again but this time he dodges her and now he tackles her against the broken window, going out and crashing to the ground.
Mirko shakes off Yamikumo and kicks him away. – "You'll pay for getting me wet!"-
Mirko charges at Yamikumo who dodges her kicks and punches, then catches one of her punches and throws her into an alley.
Mirko stands up and looks angrily at Yamikumo who looks around to find a way to lose Mirko. – "Get over here!"- Mirko charges at Yamikumo but something gets tangled in her leg and stops her, when she looks she realizes that it is a cable.
- "Sorry."- Yamikumo said and then used his telekinesis to entangle Mirko between several cables. – "And don't follow me!"- Yamikumo said and then left the place.
- "Hey! Come back here coward!"- Mirko yelled.
- "That was something…"- Yamikumo thought as he jumped between buildings towards his house but then someone tackled him in the air.
- "I got you!"- Mirko, who was the one who tackled him, said.
- "How did you escape?"- Yamikumo asked.
- "I'm smarter than you think!"- Mirko said and then they both hit the ground, falling right in front of two people.
- "Hey... isn't that Mirko?"- The first person asked. – "And another random guy?"-
- "Don't worry, I'll take care of this!"- Mirko said.
At that Yamikumo uses his fire again and they both fly away again.
- "Don't you get tired of the same trick?"- Mirko said as he takes Yamikumo's arm and throws him to the ground, but he uses his telekinesis to land without problems.
- "I really don't want to fight you..."- Yamikumo said, but Mirko didn't listen and tackled him again, crashing the two into a parked car.
- "Are you afraid of me?"- Mirko asks as he grabs Yamikumo's leg and throws him into a wall.
Yamikumo crashes into the wall but recovers quickly enough to dodge Mirko's kick with a jump. – "Kind of…"- Yamikumo uses his fire and tries to escape but Mirko jumps and hits him with a kick, making him fall against the roof of a building.
- "You're already boring me!"- Mirko said as she attacked Yamikumo with a kick, but he dodged it and counterattacked with a punch to the hero's stomach.
- "I'm sorry but I have no other choice."- Yamikumo said as he dodges another kick from Mirko and then blocks a punch from her before throwing her to the ground.
Mirko gets up easily and takes Yamikumo by the arm and then kicks him in the stomach, causing the boy to step over the edge of the roof and fall into an alley. The bad thing is that he reflexively grabbed Mirko by the arm, making both of them fell in the alley.
The fall stunned Yamikumo for a few seconds and even caused his mask to fall off. – "This is going to hurt tomorrow…"- Yamikumo tries to get up but stops when he feels something... – "Soft…Since when is the ground soft?"- Looking at what he was touching, Yamikumo can't help but freeze and turn pale.
His hand is touching one of Mirko's breasts!
Mirko, who was also stunned by the fall, upon realizing the situation, only remains with her eyes open and a slight blush on her cheeks.
After a few seconds of awkward silence, Mirko's expression changes to one of fury. – "You…"- She said.
Yamikumo quickly removes his hand from Mirko's chest and begins to back away slowly. – "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to... it was an accident..."- Yamikumo tried to explain himself but everything fell on deaf ears as Mirko hit him with a strong kick on his right arm, sending him flying and crashing into a car. – "I was wrong... this is going to hurt now..."-
- "I've had enough of you!"- Mirko said as he slowly approaches Yamikumo. – "I've been humiliated enough for the rest of my life!"-
Yamikumo tries to get up but a pain in his right arm stops him. – "This isn't good…"- Yamikumo thinks as he looks around to see something he can save himself with.
- "I'm wet and humiliated! And it's all your fault!"- Mirko said.
As Mirko approaches, Yamikumo sees something that gives him hope: a sewer, right in Mirko's path, using his telekinesis, Yamikumo tries to remove the lid.
- "I'm gonna kill you!"- Mirko charges at Yamikumo but he manages to remove the lid and causes Mirko to fall into the sewer, then quickly closes it again.
After a few seconds, Yamikumo catches his breath and gets up, still with pain in his arm. After looking around, he sighs with relief when he sees that there is no one on the street. – "I better leave before someone shows up, or even worse, Mirko shows up again."- Without wasting any more time, Yamikumo uses his telekinesis and fire to leave the place quickly.
After a few seconds the sewer lid flies off and Mirko comes out of it. – "That bastard… Where are you?!"- Mirko looks around but there is no sign of Yamikumo. – "It doesn't matter where you run! I have seen your face! I will remember you!"-

Yamikumo finally arrives home, entering his room through a window, plopping down on his bed without even changing.
– "Bad night?"-
Yamikumo looks to the side and looks at Akane. – "We could say that…"- He said.
- "I'm not even going to ask…"- Akane said. – "You need something?"-
- "A bag of ice would be nice..."- Yamikumo said.
- "I'll be back…"- Akane said exiting the room.
Yamikumo sighs and feels his right arm to check that it's not too bad. – "Well... my arm isn't broken, just dislocated."- With some force, Yamikumo adjusts his arm back to where it should be, but not without letting out a pained groan. – "I think I better take a vacation from vigilantism..."-
- "Here you go…"- Akane said as she throws a bag of ice to Yamikumo who catches it and puts it on his face. – "Do you want to talk about it?"-
- "No…"- Yamikumo said. – "Not really."-
- "Alright…"- Akane said. – "Just make sure you take a bath before going to sleep, you smell like fish."-
Yamikumo just sighs.

Next day.
The next day, Yamikumo is having breakfast in a nearby cafe, he is still a little sore after what happened yesterday. – "My arm still hurts..."- Yamikumo thinks while drinking his tea. – "That was too embarrassing..."-
Just then someone places a coffee on the same table as him. – "What a nice day, right?"-
Yamikumo turns pale when he sees who it is. – "Mirko…"- He thought.
Mirko, dressed in civilian clothes, takes a seat in front of Yamikumo while putting her feet up on the table. – "What's going on? The mouse ate your tongue?"- Mirko said.
- "I don't know what are you talking about… I'm just having some breakfast."- Yamikumo said.
- "Don't play dumb... I saw your face..."- Mirko said. – "Now you have no choice but to listen if you don't want something bad to happen."-
Yamikumo stares at Mirko and then sighs. - "Alright… I'm all ears."- He said. – "Are you coming to arrest me?"-
- "Probably...depends on how this all ends..."- Mirko said. – "The truth is that I don't like you... especially after what happened last night..."-
- "I'm not proud of what happened either."- Yamikumo said.
- "If it were up to me I would break all your bones right now... but I must admit one thing."- Mirko said. – "I noticed that you never really wanted to fight me... you focused on escaping..."-
- "And that's relevant because..."- Yamikumo said.
- "You were able to dodge my attacks as well as counterattack with your own, which were not weak… I can't imagine what it will be like when you fight seriously..."- Mirko said. – "You have skill... you are better than many professionals I know..."-
- "I appreciate the compliment... but I don't see where this is going."- Yamikumo said.
- "I'm working on something... but I need people to help me..."- Mirko said. – "I could ask other heroes for help... but I think after what happened you owe me a favor."-
- "I owe you a favor? As I remember it, everything was an accident..."- Yamikumo said. – "I call this extortion."-
At that moment Mirko grabs Yamikumo by the collar of his shirt. – "Listen idiot... I know you're a vigilante, I could arrest you right now since I know your face..."- Mirko said. – "But if you help me... I will forget that I saw your face and if someone asks... I never met you."-
- "Are you that desperate?"- Yamikumo asked.
- "Not really... but I could use the help of someone skilled."- Mirko said releasing Yamikumo and sitting down again. – "Besides... this is good for you too, doesn't it?"-
Yamikumo sighs in defeat. - "Why do I always get into this kind of mess?"- He muttered. – "Yes, you're right... I prefer not to be arrested."-
- "See, now we're on the same page."- Mirko said. – "So... your answer is..."-
Yamikumo sighs again. - "Yes... yes... I accept the deal."- Yamikumo said. – "What is this job about?"-
- "I'm sorry... but I can't talk here..."- Mirko said as she stands up. – "Come with me... and thank you for paying."-
- "What?"- Yamikumo said and then put the money on the table and followed Mirko. – "That was a dirty trick."-
Mirko smiles and runs away, Yamikumo follows her, they both climb onto a roof and begin jumping between buildings until they reach the first destination.
They both stop in front of a building. – "Wait here."- Mirko said and then entered the building.
A few minutes later Mirko leaves the building, this time dressed in her hero costume. – "First stop done, now let's go."- Mirko runs away again.
Yamikumo sighs. – "What trouble am I getting myself into..."- Just like before, Yamikumo follows her.
After more minutes of walking you both finally arrive at the destination, a police headquarters. – "We have arrived."- Mirko said.
- "You're tricking me? Why did you bring me to a police headquarters?" – Yamikumo asked.
- "Don't worry, everything will be explained here."- Mirko said. – "I promise there is no hidden trick."-
Yamikumo narrows his eyes. - "Alright…"- He said and they both enter the police headquarters.
Kenji Tsuragamae, the chief of the police force, is reviewing some documents while waiting for someone, at that moment Mirko and Yamikumo enter his office. – "Hey, how's everything going?"- Mirko said.
- "You finally arrive, Mirko… woof."- Kenji said but then looks at Yamikumo. – "And who's he?"-
- "It's someone who wants to help."- Mirko said.
- "I'm not in the mood for jokes... bringing a civilian here is very irresponsible… woof."- Kenji said.
- "Don't be alarmed chief, she knows who I am."- Yamikumo said.
- "Is that so…"- Kenji said.
- "Do you know the police chief?"- Mirko asked.
- "The government is not as clean as you think... sometimes they use vigilantes for... not so legal jobs."- Yamikumo said.
- "Interesting…"- Mirko said.
– "Leaving that aside... how did you get involved in this, Atanagi?"- Kenji asked.
- "Let's say that Mirko and I crossed paths and... we had a conflict which resulted in her seeing my face..."- Yamikumo explained. – "So we made an agreement where she wouldn't say anything about me in exchange for me helping her with this."-
- "Yeah... that pretty much sums it up."- Mirko said.
- "I see…"- Kenji sighs. – "Okay... but this is where things get complicated... unlike the job you helped us with... this will be something public so to speak... we can't risk you being seen helping us."-
- "I know... that would encourage more people to vigilantism."- Yamikumo said. – "Don't worry, I just cover my face and that's it."-
- "It's not that easy... we need to make you see that you are part of us and not someone external..."- Kenji said. – "I think I have an idea...please follow me… woof."-
- "I'm still surprised by the fact that he keeps barking while talking..."- Yamikumo thought as he and Mirko follow Kenji.
The three cross a part of the headquarters, some of the policemen greeting them, more specifically Kenji and Mirko, look at him strangely, after a few minutes they reach a room. – "Here we are."- Kenji said.
- "Where we are?"- Mirko asked.
- "We are in the special suit warehouses."- Kenji said as he pressed a button on the wall.
A suit is revealed from the wall.
The suit is a black full-body suit, there are parts of metal armor in addition to a helmet which covers the entire head. – "This is a special police suit; with this you will look like part of us while keeping your identity hidden."- Kenji said.
- "That's… cool." – Yamikumo said.
- "While the suit is not fireproof, it is made to withstand extreme environments so it will be able to withstand your fire quirk long enough."- Kenji said.
- "That's cool... now put that suit on!"- Mirko said.
- "Alright…"- Yamikumo said.
Mirko and Kenji wait outside the room and a few minutes later Yamikumo comes out, the suit is perfectly adjusted to his body, while the metal parts provide the necessary protection.
- "You look good."- Mirko said.
- "This feels weird..."- Yamikumo said.
- "Okay... now that we've covered that topic... it's time to explain the mission."- Kenji said.

We start with the last arc of Yamikumo's past.
Finally, it is revealed what happened between Mirko and Yamikumo that made her so angry with him.
Speaking of the "fight" between the two... I know it wasn't as epic or great as other fights in this Fanfic, but there's an explanation for that.
The fight turned out the way it did because Yamikumo didn't want to fight Mirko and not because it was Mirko, but to avoid problems he decided to simply run away... but Mirko can be very persistent.
That's why the "fight" wasn't as dynamic or epic as others.
Anyways... the next chapter we will continue with this.
