Chapter 1: Sounds Too Good To Be True
Our story begins on the S.S. Capcom, where Chris Redfield, an agent of S.T.A.R.S, was relaxing on the deck. Having dealt serious blow after serious blow to the UMBRELLA corporation, he was finally able to enjoy a little downtime, and he had the perfect people to do it with.
"Hey, Chris, brought your soda." said a woman with brown hair in a ponytail. This is Jill Valentine. After several adventures and harrowing battles, they finally found the time to settle down. They started dating, and eventually, they tied the knot. They had been married for 10 years now and couldn't be happier.
"Thanks, Jill." Chris said before he took it and kissed her cheek.
"I can't believe it. After years of all that blood, sweat, and tears, we finally have some time to ourselves." Jill said as she ate shrimp.
"It's the best." Chris said as he wrapped an arm around her.
Suddenly, they heard the sound of pattering feet and smiled. A 9 year old boy, who had blackish-brown hair, appeared in front of them.
"Hey, Mom and Dad, can I go explore the ship for a bit?" he asked. This is Ethan, their son.
"Why not? Just don't get into trouble." Chris said.
"Cool. Thanks, Dad." Ethan said as he walked off and into the main hall, where there were vendors, cooks, and more.
"Man, so much to see here. Wonder where I should stop?" Ethan said before he heard someone.
"Hey, kid." the voice said. Ethan looked and saw a vendor waving him over.
"Yes, sir?" Ethan asked.
"I want you to have a look at this Pokemon." the vendor said.
Ethan looked in the tank and saw a Pokemon that looked like a red fish.
"This is…?" Ethan asked.
"A Magikarp." the vendor said.
"It certainly looks…uh…" Ethan said before the vendor took the Magikarp out of the tank and handed it to him.
"See how lively it is!" the vendor said.
Ethan took the Magikarp and it started flailing.
"Woah! It sure is!" Ethan said.
"Just between you and me, this Magikarp is like a Pokemon money machine!" the vendor whispered.
"Money machine?" Ethan asked.
"A Magikarp commonly sheds scales, 1000 of which are golden and highly valued by Pokemon mineral markets. It does this a thousand times a month. 1000 x 1000 makes 1,000,000. 12 months in a year makes at least 12,000,000 scales!" the vendor said.
"That's a lot of scales!" Ethan said.
"You sell the scales to any Pokemon mineral or trading market, and in no time flat, YOU WALK AWAY WITH OVER 10 MILLION DOLLARS!" the vendor said.
Ethan thought about this and imagined swimming in money.
"I'll be so rich, I won't have a care in the world!" Ethan said.
"I normally charge $100, but for you, I'll throw in an extra Magikarp, a scale preservation set, a shedding set, and a supply of Magikarp magic chow for only $50! How about that?!" the vendor said.
"I'll take it! I'll take it!" Ethan said.
