Chapter 20

"You've got to be fucking kidding me!" Shego repeated after a few seconds of silence.

"I heard you the first time Shego and trust me, I wish I was," Gemini replied. "But I'm not in the mood for your jokes right now…" she frowned.

"Excuse me, but what exactly is Rat Hole?" Kim asked, obviously forgetting the conversation from few a month's back.

"The prison you wanted to throw me in, princess." Shego said venomously. "The one you don't get out of, ever!"

Kim had the decency to look abashed.

"Sooo if no one ever gets out, how do you know about it?" Ron asked.

"I heard rumors…" Shego told him.

"Rumors GJ spread." Gemini stated. "The term top secret doesn't even apply to this place; it's so off the radar that only a handful of people know about it. The staff is selected from top black ops operatives from a few selected countries.

"Then why to spread rumors about that place in first place? It's counterproductive…" Kim mussed. "Unless…"

"Unless it's to mask that place's true purpose…" Ron finished her thoughts. "It's not just a prison, is it?"

Sheldon took a deep breath.

"What I'm about to tell you cannot leave this room, ever, or else the consequences will be dire," he said gravely.

He looked each of them in the eyes, confirming that they understood.

"The Rat Hole is as you guessed just a cover name for this facility… a research facility in a sense," he said slowly, weighting each word.

"Wait? What's the point of masking a place as a prison if there are no prisoners there? Just some geek stuff?" Shego asked.

"Oh. There are prisoners there," She didn't know why that sentence made the hairs on her neck stand. "At the same time, it's a research facility."

"Why would they keep super power criminals near most likely a very costly and delicate research facility?" Kim asked aloud.

"I'm with her here, that doesn't sound smart." Shego nodded. "What do you think Ronnie?" she turned her head to her boyfriend, only to find him ghastly pale and staring at her with wide eyes. "Err…you're creeping me out right now."

"They're experimenting on them…" Ron said quietly. "They're experimenting on those prisoners."

One could hear the pin drop in the office now. Like Ron, Kim paled too but it was nothing compared to the shade of white Shego pulled off. Even her infamous green shade seemed to wear off, leaving just pale white skin as a realization of what might have happened to her.

"They do indeed." Gemini confirmed Ron's statement. "They're gathering all super powered villains and criminals there and turn them into test subjects."

"Why?" Kim asked with a dry voice still unable to process the thought of experimenting on humans.

"To learn how to create super-soldiers, how to mass produce super powered human beings," he finally said. "That is the true purpose of the Genesis research facility."

"Why exactly are you telling us this?" Shego finally broke another lapse of silence. "Did Betty know about this?"

"If you're wondering if she would've sent you to that place, then no, she had different plans for you. But yes, she was aware of what was going there." he replied.

"She agreed to that?!" Kim exclaimed." I can't believe that she would ever allow–!"

"Even GJ has its superiors; she couldn't do a thing against it. She told me she tried." Gemini rubbed his temples. "Look, that's not why I called you here, with Betty bedridden, I'm now in charge of GJ, so listen up. I got a mission for you," he said firmly.

"All those attackers were from Rat Hole as you probably guessed, yet we've been getting everything's fine reports from the facility… you know what that means?" The trio nodded, "We must now assume it has fallen to an unknown enemy's hand with all personnel incapacitated or dead. Your mission along with a team of elite GJ operatives is to recapture the facility at all costs… lethal force is authorized. You set out at midnight today and you will be debriefed about the details of the operation on board… any questions?"

"Yes, why do we know so little, you did manage to get prisoners?" Shego asked, narrowing her eyes. "Some of them must have spilled their guts."

"Ah, you see, this time the safety protocols worked against us… each of the prisoners had a bomb implanted in the back of their head. If they leave the prison area, the bomb explodes."

Kim and Ron gasped in terror while Shego merely growled not even daring to think what would've happen to her if she had got thrown in there.

"Seems that someone managed to deactivate them for the duration for the mission, but… the moment we managed to transport them to our HQ, the devices reactivated, killing all of them," he finished grimly. "But do not pity those men so much, each and every one of them was a murderer and scum. So not a big loss."

The younger duo blinked at the dismissing sound of those words, while Shego merely shrugged. She had seen this way too many times to care anymore.

"If there are no more questions, then you're dismissed."

The trio looked at each other before leaving the room. This was a lot to process for them.

"I can't believe that," Kim said as soon as the doors closed behind her. "Why would Dr. Director even like to have anything to do with that?"

"I would never suspect her of that." Ron agreed.

"Your naivety is sweet, but that's the reality," Shego stated. "The world was a dark place even before the invasion, without the restraints, people turn into monsters… no matter which side of law they are on." She gave them both a very long look, making them cringe. "Learn from that, black and white exist, but are rather rare… the rest are shades of grey."

"How are you so certain?" Kim asked rather timidly.

"I have seen it, you just saw, GJ are not the knights in shining armors as they portray themselves. What you've heard is just the tip of the iceberg. So I'd advise you to be cautious… I will meet you at the rally point."

"Where are you going?" Ron asked with worry.

"To get some air," she said flatly, giving him a very clear look about not following her.

"Be… careful," Ron said to her back as she took her leave without saying goodbye.

"I know it's much too take, but there's no need to be that rude." Kim mumbled.

"I think there's more to it." Ron said hesitantly, "I guess the prospect of being a lab rat hit her hard."

"Wonder why? I mean I heard she argued a few times with Drakken when he wanted to test something on her…" Kim rubbed her chin.

"I don't know either; she's never mentioned it before." Ron said slowly, realizing that he still had a lot to learn about his girlfriend. "I hope she won't do something stupid."

Breaking into Dr. Director's apartment was totally not a stupid idea. After all, she had questions but the guards refused to let her in so she found her own way in. Truly GJ could really invest in a better security system.

'Why the hell everyone is making these damn vents so damn large? Not even a laser or any sort of alarm." she thought, crawling through said place. After a few minutes of crawling, she was right above Dr. Director's apartment.

She silently melted the pins that were holding the hatch to the apartment and stealthy jumped inside not even making a sound.

One can imagine her surprise when she heard coughing behind her. She spun around only to face the barrel of the gun pointed straight at her face.

"Good afternoon, Shego. What brings you to my apartment?" Betty asked, not taking the gun out of her face.

If not for the fact that she had a gun right before her face, Shego would comment on Betty's disheveled state. She was barefoot, wearing a loose bathrobe tied around her waist. Her hair were messy as if she just woken up.

"I want answers," she said flatly, keeping her poker face.

"To what questions pray tell?" Betty asked, still not lowering her gun.

"This might take a while…" Shego suggested making Betty sigh.

"Very well, let's sit," she pointed towards the round sofa that looked like half a circle. Both ladies sat at the opposite edges, eyeing each other. "Speak then."

Shego started off with summarizing the talk with Sheldon.

"I want to know… is it true what he said? That you wouldn't have gone and let me rot there?" Shego asked, glaring at the Director. "If so… why?"

"Yes… you had too much potential to be wasted on that place…" she paused. "Besides, you didn't deserve to be there, Sheila."

Shego raised her eyebrows at the use of her own name.

"You might not believe me, but I'm firmly against that place. I got enough reports of what is going on there to topple most major governments and cause an international scandal," she chuckled.

"Then why do you allow it?"

"Because it beats the previous way they were doing their research and I can keep things under control. Tell me, why do you think no one ever decided to capture and drag you there?"

"Because I'm that good?" Shego couldn't help but boast.

"Partially, but that's not the main reason. You see before I took over the Genesis facility, it wasn't a prison in a true sense of the world. They were capturing all super powered individual regardless if they were using their powers for good or evil." She closed her eyes, "Even then it wasn't easy since the influx of subjects dropped dramatically and the governments decided to press me to allow the capture of non-criminals again… but then your brothers happen."

"What?"

"Team Go to be precise, you became increasingly famous over the years, encouraging others to take the mantle of the heroes and use their powers for good, giving me perfect weapon again my superiors. In the end I managed to convince them to take… better care for their subjects, extending their previously short life-spans and saving countless innocent people."

"That doesn't explain why they hadn't caught me? I'm not… I wasn't exactly innocent back then, and I guess my comet powers would be of interest to them." Shego was now confused.

"For two reasons, one is sitting right in front of you." She smirked making the other woman scowl. "The other reason is again, your brother, Hego."

"What?!" Shego exclaimed. "How could he have contributed any way to my freedom?"

"He covered for you for years, Sheila. You see, the Genesis facility operatives approached him in hopes of getting any information from him about you and your whereabouts soon after you started to commit your first crimes. He guessed what they were going to do to you because someone might have told him about the existence of such a facility," Betty's smile widened.

"Normally he would've probably chased them away and they would've fond you eventually, but with that knowledge… he struck a deal with them. In exchange for his and your brother's DNA you would get a free pass from the facility as long as you do not commit murder or anything close to that… it worked well until the whole attitudinator case. With the Team Go's reputation damaged, they wanted to put their claws on you again, but… the rest is history."

Betty finished her story, leaving a slack jawed ex-villainess stunned. For few minutes she couldn't form a word.

"But… But… all those things I said to his face… After everything I put him though, he still? But he was always shouting at me… why?"

"You really don't know why he was going to such lengths to protect you?" Betty asked actually surprised. It was quite obvious in her opinion but Shego just shook her head. "Because you're his baby sister and he loves you dearly as he does his whole family."

Shego blinked, obviously not understanding.

"Why do you think he utters those ridiculous hero quotes all the time or always goes to those parades or events? He needs to be a role model, an example for aspiring heroes, and a symbol that people do not need to fear super powered individuals."

"But no one likes those quotes! Everyone thinks that they're stupid and cheesy!" Shego protested lamely.

"In the hero circles, yes, but people love it, and Hego is doing a good job at supplying that whenever he's doing it consciously or not."

Again silence fell on the two females.

"I… need to go." Shego said, standing up quickly and moving towards the doors.

"Shego!" Betty's voice stopped her. "Meet me an hour before your departure. I'll have something for you." she said cryptically. "Also next time you meet your brother; have a long and honest talk with him… I know I'm not exactly right person to tell you about letting grudges go, but siblings shouldn't fight each other… or it might too late before something happens," she said somewhat sadly.

"What things?" Shego couldn't help but ask.

"For example… a dinner mother always wished with all three of us. To have fun and talk like a normal family for once… now Sheldon and I can have a dinner with just the two of us at best."

Betty's admission stuck a sensitive chord. Shego could no longer look her in the eye. She turned on her heel and left the room, passing the surprised guards but she paid them no attention.

She just wanted to get to some place secluded to clear her mind… the HQ rooftop seemed like a good place.

She took the lift upstairs and climbed onto the radio tower, sitting on one of the technical bridges and staring at the city.

Many of the sky scrapers were still broken from the invasion but the improvement was visible. All of them were covered with cranes working almost 24/7 to rebuild the city. The view was heart-lifting.

Humanity got beaten up majorly, but the invaders didn't break their spirit. At this pace, in half a year there won't be even a trace of destruction here.

'Except the graveyards filled to the brim.' Shego thought grimly.

"Is it me or is the atmosphere here is quite, stifling?" Kim said taking her tray with food to the GJ cafeteria.

"Wonder why? I mean all those guys are agents here, maybe some inner group rivalry?" Ron suggested, sitting at the unoccupied table between the two groups that were glaring at each other.

"Maybe? It's starting to look like high school all over again." Kim said with sigh. "With this year gap of university recruitment, I guess it was a good idea to join GJ, at least we can see each other."

"Well I had to because I sold my soul," Ron joked. "But at least we get paid and get free food! And it isn't slob!"

GJ cafeteria was worlds apart from the Middleton High one.

"Yeah… that would be a bummer…" Kim took a bite of her salad. "While we're speaking about schools, did you hear the news?"

"No?"

Last week Ron was rather busy with… stuff.

"Mr. Barkin became the new director of Middleton High!" Kim said making Ron face fault.

"I'm so happy that I already graduated, it would be hell there…" he said with absolute seriousness.

"But that's not all, Monique, Tara, and wait for it, Bonnie volunteered to help accommodate war orphans! They're now organizing clothes, food, and homes for them."

"The first two I could understand, but Bonnie? I mean really?" Ron might be acting a little mean to Bonnie, but the suspicion was valid.

"That surprised me too, but it looks like she had some good in her, after all." Kim giggled. "Imagine her surrounded by crying children… okay, not so funny given the context," she made herself sad.

"We'll laugh at it one day." Ron promised with a smile.

"Yeah… so changing this depressing mood, how's your family?" Kim asked.

"Good, as usual, they're on some trip, it seems that even an alien invasion won't stop them." He chuckled, "But they keep in contact almost every day so no more month long radio silence."

"Well at least something good came out of it." Kim agreed, before she managed to say more a voice interrupted her.

"Agents," Will Do greeted, them holding tray of food. "May I?"

The duo nodded, inviting him to their table. From the moment they officially became agents of GJ Du's attitude towards them changed drastically. No more amateurs or stares, one could even say that he warmed up to them.

"So…" Ron started to break the ice. "What's with all those people glaring at each other?"

"Oh, that… you see, parts of the groups are former WWEE employees and there is… tensions between the GJ and WWEE… given time, I'm sure it will lessen, but right now they rather keep to themselves. Maybe it's better this way for the time being, we don't need internal conflict right now since we barely have any personnel to spare?" He paused, looking at them, "I recon you were briefed about today's mission?"

"Yes we were," Kim replied.

"… Do you know how to use guns?" Du asked after a moment of silence.

"Why would we?" she asked, frowning, already not liking where this was going.

"Because all agents going into field will be equipped with one… well except Shego and Stoppable since they have their own unique fighting styles and a gun would just get in the way."

"I too have a unique style! Sixteen of them," Kim protested. "A gun would get in my way too!"

"Possible, we're going into the place filled with degenerates and monsters with orders to recapture it and neutralize all enemies there, super powered enemies, you need to have a gun in case you're gonna need it." Du explained patiently.

"No," Kim flat out refused.

"Then as your superior, I order you to accompany me to the shooting range for your training, Agent possible." Du said with a sigh.

Kim opened her mouth but no words came out of it. It was true Du was her superior and in GJ she had to follow orders.

Wordlessly she stood and walked away, probably towards the shooting range filled with anger that showed in her every step.

"You didn't have to be so harsh with her," Ron said with disapproval, after he was sure she couldn't hear him say it.

"Some of the female agents take cyanide pills in case of capture."

Yeah, that successfully shut him up.

"You can probably guess what would happen to her if she got captured by bunch of psychopaths that hadn't seen a woman in years…" Du took a bite of his chicken.

"I won't let that happen." Ron growled.

"Everything can happen on a mission. We can't always prevent everything and sometimes we are forced to minimize damages," he told him from experience.

"What if she's a crappy shot?" Ron sighed.

"You can't miss at point-blank range," Du shrugged. "Anyways, it looks like it will take a while so I'll move to teaching her right now."

"Have fun." Ron said absently, poking his food and suddenly losing his appetite. 'I might kill again…'

To tell the truth, he still felt bad about killing Warhwak. He did know that the alien was a monster and was responsible for countless innocent deaths, but still, taking a life was a hard thing to stomach for Ron. He hadn't had much time to dwell on it since there was always something to do, but some meditation might do some good for him.

'But where? Hmmm, ah, yeah! Roof might be a good place to go,' he decided unknowingly moving to the same place as his girlfriend.

Thanks to his ever working senses, he felt her aura the moment it came within his reach. He weighted his options but decided to leave her be.

If Sheila wanted some space he would give it to her.

He marched to the opposite side of the roof, sitting on his knees. Taking a deep breath he put himself in meditative state, clearing his mind.

If someone told him half year ago that he would be the world's biggest hero, have a smoking hot girlfriend, and also technically had killed a person, he would have laughed at them.

But here he was, waiting for another missing that might force him to take another life. Yes the people there probably deserved it, but where was the line?

He killed Warhwak to save the world. Even he was aware that it needed to be done. But what if he started doing it just to make things easier, step by step getting used to killing his opponents instead of disabling them?

Where that would lead him? Would he be himself or turn to someone else? That thought made him shiver as he reminded himself of his brief romance with the other side.

He never wanted to return there.

'But what if Sheila or Kim were in danger?' He couldn't help but think. 'Would I kill again?'

He sighed, looks like there won't be much meditation today.

Ron opened his eyes looking at the rebuilding city.

"Lifts the mood a bit, doesn't it?" Shego voice suddenly reached his ears, startling him.

"S-Sheila! I thought you were up there!" Ron said calming his beating heart.

"I was, but I saw you," she pointed out with a small smirk. "I decided to see what you were up to."

"I wanted to clear my mind a bit." Ron admitted. "But it didn't work much…"

"Same here…" Shego sighed.

"Want to talk about it?" Ron asked.

"Not really… you?"

"Same here," he repeated, earning a small chuckle from her.

"If not, let's maybe catch a bit of sleep, after all, we're having a rough night before us, and the not good way rough."

"Yeah, that's a good idea."

A few hours later

The group of about fifty operatives was gathered around a large table on the side of a large hangar bay filled with dozens of jets and crafts with swarms of technicians maintaining them. Every few minutes a jet was taking off, leaving the place with the roar of its engines.

Agent Du was giving the briefing to the operatives, with Kim and Ron among them. When asked where Shego was Ron replied that she had to refresh herself and went off somewhere and he hadn't seen her since.

"Agents, I'm not going to lie, the task before us is going to be difficult. We're going in blindly with no information about the nature of our enemy that took the prison nor the forces he brought with him. All we know is the number of the prisoners that the latest report numbered around two thousands, five hundred of them possessing various superpowers." he explained.

"We can divert them into three groups. One possess various psychical power, most common is super strength with bullet proof skin and super speed. Second group are elemental powered individual wielding powers of wind, fire, water, electricity, and ice. They're capable of both long ranged and close ranged attacks. The last group consists of individuals with various animal abilities from morphing into to augmenting their own bodies with some traits." Du paused. "Technically there are four groups but due to the fact that the fourth consist only of one known individual, it's not really treated as a group… but out of all of them, that prisoner is the most dangerous… all we know his or her code name is X21. That person is a psychic, if encountered; we got orders to shoot on sight. That person is extremely dangerous capable of causing mass destruction…"

"Excuse me," Kim raised her hand.

"Yes, agent Possible?" Du asked.

"If there are so many prisoners, how are we supposed to re-take the prison with only roughly fifty of us?"

"We've been granted an additional force of sixty synthodrones that are armed with top of the line equipment. Each agent is equipped with experimental armor based on the design of your young friend, Wade."

"But will that be enough?" Ron inquired. "You said the guards were top operatives from all around the world, whoever took them out have to be capable, not to mention that their equipment is now in the enemy's hands..."

"And it's virtually useless since every single weapon there has a biometric signature there, so they can only be used as clubs." Du finished for him.

"Sorry for being late." Shego announced herself.

"I recon you have an explanation for your lateness, agent Shego?" Du asked.

"Had to have a talk with the big boss," she said cryptically.

Du eyed her for a second before nodding.

"Then let's move to the layout of the prison." He pressed a button on the table, calling to life the holographic display of the prison.

It had the general shape of a roller that got narrower the deeper it went. It also had dozens of rooms going to the side from the main body. In the background there were faint lines outlining the shape of a mountain.

"As you can see the prison is burrowed deep within the mountains on Alexander Island near Antarctica. Aside from the upper hangars there is no way to enter it from above. Aside from the rocks the walls of the prison are virtually impregnable to any drill we possess. They can withstand the head of an nuclear blast and have nothing more than a scorch mark. Nothing can get in or out… but!"

He pressed another button, zooming to the very bottom of the structure. "There's a secret tunnel known only to the Dr. Director and the Head Chief of the prison. The tunnel leads three kilometers form the prison." The pointer zoomed to the small bunker. "That is where we access the prison; from there we will fight our way through the facility to the control hub." The screen changed again, showing the large orb supported by powerful lines with four access bridges leading inside. "We will have to climb all twenty two floors until we reach it, from there we will regain control of the facility."

"Okay, but what about the system defenses?" Shego asked. "Turrets, blast doors, ect? They can easily block us."

"I'm in possession of the overdrive codes that shuts all systems down, deactivating all weaponry and inside doors, but closing shut the outer doors. They can be opened only from the control hub," he answered.

"So that leaves us against about two thousands of the world's worst and God knows how many assailants…" Shego sighed.

"Indeed," Du agreed. "Since there are no more questions, gear up, we're leaving in thirty minutes!"

"YES SIR!"

Everyone went to their quarter master to receive their gear.

Surprisingly Ron was the first one to appear before the crafts, most likely because he only took his combat armor without the rest of the gear.

And boy he was glad that GJ took some liberty with the armor design. While he never said it out loud when Dementor's stole Kim's suit and put it on… it looked extremely gay on him. The colors were okay for a female, but for a male… not so much, but this one was simply perfect.

"Badical," Ron smirked. The suit was dark blue since it was the standard GJ color but without the glowing lines like on Kim's. Also it looked far more military like with visible armor plating on the chest and tactical belt added to it. Plus he got a helmet as an addition but he didn't plan to use it. It obscured his vision too much.

"My I think you should wear this thing more often, it makes your ass look great." Shego's voice woke him from his complacency… only to put him in another dream world when he turned to see her.

Sheila like him was wearing a suit provided by GJ but it was vastly different than his. Most notable difference was that it was black with green lines running down it, somehow accenting her curves.

"Stop staring at me like that Ronnie or I'll request that we fly there on a private jet." She smirked seductively making a half turn so he could see her butt.

'Non-sexy thoughts, non-sexy thoughts! Remember! You are in a SKIN TIGHT suit,' he thought with panic, making an expression that made her laughing.

"Remember you're in SKIN TIGHT suit, Ronnie…" Shego purred.

"No shit…" Ron chocked. "Not funny!"

"Sure is," she chuckled.

"What so funny?" Kim asked joining them.

Suddenly Shego got a devilish look on her face. Ron shot her a pleading look but the glints in her eyes told him that it was in vain.

"Oh nothing, someone just likes my suit very much." Shego said looking at Ron's crotch. Kim followed her eye sight and gasped at the sight of that!

"RON!" Kim exclaimed, blushing fiercely. "Have you no shame!?"

"IT's not my fault! It's her!" He squeaked, hiding his crotch with his hands.

"Aww, let me give you a LONG and TIGHT hug." Shego said coming closer with her arms spread wide, totally not trying to bounce her breasts.

"YOU!" Ron pointed at her. "Don't you dare come any closer!"

"What is going on here?" Du asked, walking up to them with his helmet at his side. He looked at Ron then his eyes traveled down, noticing what was sticking out from the hand Ron was covering his crotch. "Agent Stoppable… try to control your libido or get some release before the mission. Pent up tension will cloud your judgment." he said flatly before turning on his heel.

If Ron was red before now he was literally crimson. He fell to his knees and started to whack his head against the steel floor.

"WHY?! WHY?! Why?!" he wailed, hitting his head in rhythm.

Shego was by now cackling loudly with tears threatening to spill form her eyes while Kim tried to looked anywhere but her friend.

Somehow they managed to move to the jet and fly towards the Antarctica without a hitch. Ron adamantly refused to speak to Shego after she embarrassed him in front of the whole squad, chattering with Kim instead.

The villainess seemed to be quite pleased with herself so she allowed them to speak without much interfering aside from occasional comment or an occasional stroke here and there that might have caused some reaction from her boyfriend.

About three hours later they reached their destination.

Antarctica, Alexander's Island.

After they landed and unpacked their gear, the squad moved inside the tunnel that led towards the prison laboratory. The tunnel was unremarkable at best, steel walls and emergency lights in it proving to being the only thing there.

The three kilometer march was silent except form the steady rhythm of marching. The closer they got the more tense the atmosphere became.

Finally they stopped before some very large metal doors.

Du inserted the code. The doors opened with a quieted hiss, revealing a deep darkness behind them. The squad moved again with their night vision on except for Ron who just used his powers to see through the darkness.

"We're about to enter the facility's lowest level; stay alert," Du's voice cracked in their comlink.

They reached another door. Du made a pausing gesture then followed it with get ready.

GJ Agents gripped their guns, synthodrones activated combat mode, Shego lit her hands, and Kim activated battle protocols while Ron summoned the Lotus blade.

Du opened the doors.

The squad flooded in ready for everything… except the horrible stench that hit their nostrils the moment they passed the doors.

"Oh my god," Ron choked when he saw the source of the smell.

A large pile of rotting bodies lying in the center of the round room. If one looked up, he or she could see an open space surrounded by cells with the control hub looming in the distance, illuminated by the red emergency light.

They could see the prison guards, scientist, and prisoners killed most likely in a riot, all dumped in one place.

Being the only one without a helmet did what a person lacking an air filters would do.

He bent over and puked his lunch. Kim and Shego moved to his side, patting his back.

"Looks like we know what happened to the personnel." Du said grimly. "Stay on high alert. The enemy might know that we're–?"

"Here?" suddenly a voice boomed from the speakers with the doors they got through, shutting down. "We've been expecting you, though I must say that it's quite disappointing that you caught on to it so late… but where are my manners? I should welcome my guests!"

The voice gained a malicious edge.

"Welcome in the deepest pit of hell. I hope you enjoy your stay."
