Author Note:
I realize now that I forgot to describe Fyla. Later I will go back an edit chapter one, as well as add more descriptive language. For now, I will describe her here. Fyla is short, perhaps about only an inch or two taller than Ranma's female form, with golden hair and brown eyes (typical of Tarabon, where she is from). She wears her hair loose, but diligently combs and maintains it. If she were of a greater rank than Novice, she would wear a veil as is customary for a Taraboner.
Also this chapter might be a bit on the boring side, but I want to showcase Ranma settling in to their new routine and give you readers an idea of what they'll be doing generally from day to day. The next chapter will certainly be more interesting!
Anyways this is my first story so please help a girl out and take it easy on me!
Chapter Two: Novice Nuisances
White Tower, Tar Valon, Randland
While most novices routinely woke when dawn's light flooded the Tower courtyard, there was one who continued to dream, blissfully unaware of the bustling novices in the hall just outside her door. Soon after came an incessant knocking, hoping to rouse the occupant. The knocks came quicker as Fyla grew more impatient.
"Ranma! Come on, it's time to get up already! If you don't get up, Sheriam Sedai will punish us!" A few moments went by as Fyla continued to knock before her hand fell to her side. She let out an exasperated sigh before placing her hand on the doorknob. "I'm coming in..."
The sight greeting her was rather unexpected. Ranma lay splayed across the firm bed, a bit of drool hanging from her mouth. Suddenly, she rolled a bit, rumpling her already heavily wrinkled dress even further. For a moment Fyla thought she heard Ranma mumble "C-cats" followed by a full body shudder. She quickly dismissed it as too strange to have happened, and decided she had better get on with her task. Grabbing Ranma's shoulders, she shook the redhead vigorously. "Ranma, it's time to get up!"
"Huh? Whaz goin' on?" Ranma tried to blink the sleep out of her eyes, and looked up at Fyla in confusion. She was so used to being woken up by a bucket of water in the face or combat that part of her instinctively began tensing up, waiting for a blow that wouldn't come. She rubbed at her eyes lazily and yawned expansively once she realized that she wasn't about to be assaulted and could relax a bit.
"Ranma, we've really got to go, come on, get up. Sheriam is already going to assign you extra chores for tomorrow for allowing your dress to get so wrinkled," Fyla complained while grabbing Ranma's arm and trying to get her on her feet.
That woke her up, as she looked down at the dress she was wearing and grimaced. That was one aspect of this whole ordeal she wished she could do without, but the tantalizing prospect of new techniques and a way home reminded her why it was all worth it. Fyla continue to try to pull Ranma to her feet ineffectually, when Ranma sighed and finally got up. "So Sheriam said yer gonna show me around, where are we headin' first?"
"Sheriam Sedai, always address her with Sedai, or you can call her mother. Anyways, the first place I'll be showing you is the scullery, where you'll often have to wash dishes with the other novices. After that we can get some breakfast from the kitchen...although it might be cold since you took so long," Fyla chastised.
"Heh, well what're we waitin' for, I'm starvin'," Ranma proclaimed boisterously with grin. Anyone who knew Ranma knew that whether in male or female form, she had a rather voracious appetite. Whole platters stacked high with food were no match for the Saotome girl. The only one she knew of who could match her stomach (besides Picolet, but the less said about him the better), was her father. 'Least without Pops around I won' havta fight over my food. Today it's all mine!' Ranma smiled happily at the thought.
Ranma wore the most disheartened look Fyla had seen since she had arrived at the Tower. It appeared as if the world was ending, and all hope was lost.
Touring the scullery had went well enough, and while Ranma wasn't enthused about washing dishes, she had still been in the same chipper mood she had been in when they left her room. The moment Ranma was handed her plate by the kitchen staff, Fyla could see her mood plummet. It truly reached rock bottom when her request for a larger portion was denied. Moments later, a sickly green aura began hanging about her like a miasma that seemed to weigh on everything and everyone in the immediate vicinity. "Are you alright Ranma? I know the food we get isn't as good as the Aes Sedai get, but I think it's tasty anyways. Or is it something else?"
Ranma sighed heavily, the green aura shrinking in intensity a little. "It's not the taste, it's fine an' all. Not as good as Kasumi's but it ain't bad. Nah, I just...I need ta eat a lot for my martial arts, an' I can't get much here."
Fyla laughed merrily. "All this over food, and to think I had thought something terrible was going on."
Ranma gave her a sharp glare "Hey, it ain't funny. Being stuck here ain't my idea of a good time, even with tha new techniques. If I could get back I would, even without 'em." Ranma heaved another sigh. "I hope Akane ain't too angry with me..."
She had thought she had said that too quietly to be heard, but she had thought wrong. Fyla's mouth quickly turned into a mischievous grin and her eyes acquired a strange glint. "Who' s Akane? Your boyfriend?"
Ranma blushed a bright scarlet red, matching her hair. "A-Akane? My b-b-boyfriend? No way! She's just ...just an uncute, macho tomboy. And I ain't datin' no boys!"
Fyla covered her mouth to mask her giggles, but failed miserably. "You sound just like a Red, Ranma. They don't bond any Warders."
Ranma's face became confused. "Warder? Red? Whatcha mean?"
"Oh right, sometimes I forget you aren't from..well...anywhere I know at least. Don't worry, you'll learn all about Ajah's and Warders tomorrow when we have our lessons. They won't even let you bond a Warder until you take the shawl and become an Aes Sedai," Fyla explained. "But enough of that, surely at least one man has caught your eye before?"
Ranma's face flushed bright red with embarrassment once more. She remembered a certain koi rod incident where she had become enamored with Ryoga due to the magical fishing rod, resolved to ensure that Fyla never, ever found out about it. "I haven't! Never! Never will either!"
"Alright, alright, if you insist," she said with a small smile. "Anyways, we've tarried to long, follow me and I'll show you where you'll take your lessons."
As Ranma followed her down the halls, she took a moment to take in her surroundings. Her nervousness at being in a strange place out of nowhere the day before had blinded her to tapestries and paintings adorning the white walls, and to the patterned tiles covering the floor. She soon grew bored of looking at her surroundings and focused on Fyla. It was almost a foreign concept, interacting with a girl who wasn't a fiancée, or didn't want something out of her. With the fiancées whatever they did there was always an undercurrent of competition, and it was rare for her to be able to drop her guard when near them. 'It's kinda nice bein' around someone who doesn't want anythin' if ya, specially anythin' romantic," Ranma thought idly. 'Akane ain't too bad though I guess," she thought, coloring slightly. She did have issues with Akane, being hit over the head with a hammer all the time isn't exactly conducive to a good relationship after all, but at least most times Akane didn't make her feel like a piece of meat being thrown to horde of ferocious
fiancées
She was suddenly snapped out of her musings as she bumped into Fyla who had stopped in front of an open door.
"Ah, sorry 'bout that," Ranma apologized.
Fyla's face acquired a strange look, and Ranma thought she saw hints of guilt in it. "No Ranma, I'm sorry...ahem...anyways here is one of the rooms you'll be learning in. Normally an Accepted or an Aes Sedai will teach a small group of novices. It won't always be about the True Source, the One Power that is, mind you, sometimes we study history, geography, The Old Tongue, politics, and philosophy as well."
"Ah c'mon, you mean I gotta learn all that stuff ta learn about the techniques?" Ranma complained. School had always been a weak point for Ranma. It was likely due to her lack of education in her younger days, thanks to her father's foolishness. Unless it was framed in the context of a martial arts move, it was hard for her to even work up the motivation to bother learning. Fortunately for her, the promise of new abilities dangled like a carrot right in front of her.
Fyla hesitated a moment before answering. "If...if you weren't able to get back Ranma...well, if couldn't then...then it'd be helpful to know these things. You don't know anything about where we are, and so I guess what I'm trying to say is it's a good backup."
"I'll get back, Saotome Ranma never loses, just you wait. I'll do it in no time!" Ranma declared confidently, shoving any doubts and worries as deep as they could go. She could worry about that when faced with it. "I guess ya right though, it don't hurt to be prepared for it."
Fyla hugged Ranma after she said this, shocking her a bit as Ranma had rarely received a comforting hug. Plenty of far more amorous hugs, but rarely any comforting ones. She woodenly placed her arms around Fyla's back, as she was not entirely sure how to react. "It'll be alright Ranma, we'll get you home. I just know it," Fyla said as she broke the hug. She smiled brightly. "Come on, I'll be showing you the courtyard next, where the Gaidin, that is, Warders train."
Upon entering the courtyard they noticed a group of men of various ages practicing with swords. Some were wearing a color shifting cape while they did so, causing them to fade in and out of the background. Ranma watched the cloaks intently until her eyes started to hurt, wondering what they could possibly be made from. If she could get her hand on one of those, then she may even be able to enhance her Umisenken invisibility technique. If she hadn't promised to seal the technique that is.
Fyla took her staring for something else and began giggling. "One of the Warders catch your eye, miss 'I don't date men?'"
"What?! No! Of course not! I just thought their capes were strange. I've never seen anything like it," Ranma desperately tried to explain.
Fyla decided she had messed with Ranma enough, but her grin made it apparent that she found Ranma's protesting amusing. "Alright alright. Perhaps you'll find a pillow-friend before long." When Ranma shot her a questioning eyebrow she simply shook her head and laughed a little. "Never mind, it's not important for now. Anyways if you're done gawking at the Warders, the last place we'll be heading for the day is the library."
Ranma groaned, a library was certainly not somewhere she enjoyed spending time if she could avoid it. While walking through it, she only perked up when Fyla mentioned that the methods for certain uses of the One Power were in one particular section, and again when Fyla mentioned that the Brown Aes Sedai may be able to help her get home, since they sought after knowledge so fervently.
Fyla returned with Ranma to her room, stopping outside the door. "Tomorrow you had better get up on time! If you don't you'll certainly be sent to Sheriam Sedai. Sheriam Sedai told me that once we had finished the tour, you were free for the rest of the day, but I must help in the scullery for the evening meal. If you want warm food, you should go in an hour. I'll see you later Ranma!"
"I'll uh see ya later Fyla," Ranma replied.
After Fyla had left Ranma wasn't sure what to do with herself. Practicing the art in a dress wouldnt be too difficult, but she doubted the Aes Sedai would take kindly to her doing so. Maybe she could talk to Sheriam about it. Back in Nerima, fights, running from her fiancées, school, and dealing with other random insanity generally took up most of her day, and she had spent a lot of her meager free time practicing the art. The Tendo's had a tv, but she rarely even watched anything on it. With little chance of anything happening, she was hard pressed to find something to fill her time. During one small moment of madness she considered reading a book, but immediately dismissed it as a terrible idea. She decided to simply exercise as best she could, doing push-ups on the floor, and various other exercises in order to at least keep her strength up. Even if she wasn't able to practice her martial arts, there was no way she'd let herself go without some form of physical activity.
Nerima-ku, Japan
Kasumi had always been the kind of person to look out for others, and while most of the Nerimans simply assumed Ranma was off fighting, flirting with floozies, or ensnaring the he pigtailed girl, Kasumi instead worried for him. She knew it may be a waste of time to search for him, that he might come back on his own just fine, but she decided to ask around anyways.
Her first call was to Kuh Lon, Xian Pu's great grandmother. However, Kasumi could immediately tell something was bothering the old woman.
"Hello, Kuh Lon? I was wondering if you'd seen Ranma today, he's been missing since yesterday..."
"Ah Kasumi...no, no I haven't seen son-in-law...hmm perhaps he was the one who..." Kuh Lon trailed off as she began mumbling to herself, clearly deep in thought.
"Is something the matter, elder?" Kasumi said concernedly.
"Kasumi, you said he went missing yesterday, yes? Yesterday I felt a great surge of power from somewhere in this district. I think son-in-law may be caught up in something troublesome once again. Have everyone meet me at your dojo tomorrow, I may have a way to locate him. That power surge was frightening, even for one such as I, and I fear we will need all the allies we can get to return son-in-law safely."
"Oh my, I hope Ranma's alright! I'll have Akane tell the others to come here after school. Thank you Elder," Kasumi said.
"It is no trouble child, I only hope nothing has happened to Xian Pu's airen." With that Kuh Lon hung up and went to sift through her various magical items and herbs .
White Tower, Tar Valon, Randland
The Next Day
A frantic knocking woke the pigtailed girl from her slumber. For most this would be unsurprising as the knocking was quite loud, however Ranma herself was somewhat amazed that anything less than a bucket of water had woken her. She sleepily rubbed at her bleary eyes and sat up as the woman continuous knocking grew louder.
"I cannot do this everyday Ranma! You need to hurry!" Fyla's voice called from the other side.
"I'm up, I'm up, sheesh! I ain't used to gettin' up without 'Kane splashing me with a bucket or Pops tossin' me out tha window." Ranma explained as she quickly dressed in her novice's outfit. She hurriedly opened the door and nearly bumped directly into Fyla in her haste.
"You should be a bit more careful, Ranma! Hurry, we've got to make our way to the scullery." Fyla grabbed her hand and walked at the fastest pace she could without being reprimanded by an Aes Sedai.
Just as they were about to make it into the scullery, a gong sounded. Fyla groaned, and a look of trepidation came over her face. "We're late...we're going to be sent to Sheriam for sure." Fyla complained.
"Sheriam seems nice enough, it ain't the end of the world." The look on Fyla's face indicated to Ranma that she had severely underestimated Sheriam's punishments. "We'll be fine, right?" Ranma asked, her voice growing worried.
For the first time Fyla seemed to get a bit angry with Ranma. "No! It won't be 'fine' Ranma! We'll be lucky if she doesn't bend us over knee and hit us with her leather switch! It's a given we're going to have extra chores regardless! Why couldn't you just get up on time, I TOLD you to make sure you weren't late. I'm not waiting for you tomorrow, you can get sent to Sheriam by yourself!" She stormed into the scullery leaving Ranma blinking.
'It...it can't be that big of a deal, right? I mean c'mon, it's just Sheriam, I didn't think Fyla was tha type ta get angry like that,' Ranma thought.
She walked into the scullery and was immediately given a speech on the importance of punctuality by the head scullery maid, and told to visit Sheriam after her lessons. Fyla was already working on cleaning dishes and didnt look over at Ranma as she got to work on the dishes as well.
Ranma felt a bit guilty about getting Fyla in trouble, but her pride wasn't about to allow her to apologize. 'She didn't have ta get so mad over nothing. I ain't apologizin'.' Ranma thought as she walked to her first class.
Ranma managed to get on the nerves of nearly every accepted that tried to teach her. The history and politics of Randland held little to no interest for her, and if the teaching accepted in each class hadn't booped her nose with a weave of air each time she tried to sleep, she would've slept right through all but her class on the use of the Power.
She had however learned a few useful things. She learned that the Brown Ajah were the keepers of knowledge, and generally were bookworms who would rather read a dusty tome than go on a journey (unless it involved acquisition of new tomes). The Red Ajah's goal was to prevent the misuse of the Power. While their most known task is gentling men who can channel the power, to prevent them going mad and killing a bunch of people, they also police improper use of the Power my wilders and other female channelers as well. They generally have a strong distrust of men, and refuse to bond any Warder. The Green Ajah is the battle Ajah, they await the last battle, Tarmon Gai'don in the Old Tongue, and they are the only Ajah that bond more than one Warder. The Grey Ajah are often mediators and advisors. When war between nations break out, the Grey are there to ease tension, and bring each side to compromise and peace. The White Ajah is one of pure logic and concern themselves with philosophy. The Yellow Ajah are the healers among the Aes Sedai, and strive to improve along the lines of all things medical. Finally, the Blue Ajah seeks righteous causes as well as justice.
She faced an altogether different hurdle when learning the Power. The issue wasn't that she couldn't pay attention, or that the accepted was an ineffective teacher, nor that she had been besieged by crazy shenanigans (this wasn't Nerima after all). No, she quite simply couldn't channel no matter how hard she tried.
"See a flower bud in your mind. You see the bud blossoming. Now become the flower, surrender to Saidar and embrace the Power," the Accepted said.
Ranma cursed to herself and wondered how she ended up getting suckered into something so girly, but she tried to shove her father's misogynistic teachings and focus on the task at hand. She grimaced and tried to imagine the flower in her head blossoming, tried to feel Saidar like the accepted said, but it felt like there was a wall between her and the source. She couldn't even feel anything at all, and the longer she sat there with the flower in her head, the more ridiculous she felt. She began to feel incredibly frustrated and impulsively spoke out. "This ain't workin' at all! How is imaginin' a flower s'posed to help me use the Power?! This is stupid."
"You will not take that tone with me, child, I'll have you sent to Sheriam if you're going to act like that. You should have spoken up sooner if you were having difficulty. Go on and see Sheriam, she'll explain the issue. Make sure to tell her why I've sent you too," the accepted said haughtily.
Ranma grumbled angrily as she left, slamming the oaken door shut with a loud bang. In her anger she had forgotten her strength a bit, and the door broke to pieces right there.
The accepted stated in shock at the ruined door and then looked to Ranma who blushed beet red with embarrassment.
"I...um...sorryboutthatgottago," she said as she quickly ran in the direction of Sheriam's office. By the time she had arrived most of her anger had been bled off by the torrent of embarrassment she was feeling. 'This isn't Nerima! I can't go around breakin' things like that,' Ranma chastised herself.
Knocking on Sheriam's door, she waited until she asked her to enter before doing so.
"Tha accepted sent me here Sheriam." She corrected herself "Sheriam Sedai. I..uh..got a bit angry heheh...she didn't like tha tone I used with her. An' I kinda sorta broke a door. An' I was late to tha scullery." Ranma explained.
"I see. You say you broke a door, child? It sounds like you've had quite the eventful day. Well come here, you'll have to be punished of course, you agreed to be a novice so you must abide by our rules. Oh and you'll be helping the Browns sort books in the library for a week as part of your punishment too," Sheriam said.
Ranma groaned (internally, she didn't want more punishments after all) and simply nodded, coming over to Sheriam.
"Sheriam Sedai, there's one more thing. The accepted was teaching me how to use the power, but I couldn't seem to use it. I could almost see something, but no matter how hard I tried, it remained out of reach. The accepted said you would know why," Ranma asked.
"Ah, do you remember when I mentioned that you may have a block? You won't be able to channel until we can break it, but it will take time. First we'll have to find out what conditions you can channel under," Sheriam explained.
"For now though, you have a punishment to receive. Bend over my knee. This'll hurt child, and I expect you to learn from your mistakes today. I'm also going to have one of the accepted work on your manner of speaking, it is rather rough."
Ranma complied, her face once more reddening in embarrassment. Sheriam began and did not let up for over 10 minutes. Just before she finished, a knock sounded on her door.
"Go child, and behave yourself better in the future," Sheriam said.
Through gritted teeth Ranma replied "I will Sheriam Sedai."
She then headed to the door and when she opened the door, none other than Fyla was standing before her. They stared at each other for a moment.
"I'm sorry I-"
"I apologize for-"
They both interrupted each other and after a moment broke into laughter.
"I'm apologize for getting so angry at you earlier, I'm the reason you're here, so I shouldn't have gotten so angry. I just really hate the punishments here and didn't want either of us to go through it," Fyla said.
"S'okay, I'm sorry I gotcha in trouble an' all. I'ma deep sleeper, 'Kane normally gets me up with a bucket of water," Ranma said.
Fyla suddenly hugged Ranma, causing her to go bug-eyed. "Thanks. I was really afraid you would hate me or something for getting angry at you like that. Really I should be asking you to forgive me for bringing you here. Anyways, I can't keep Sheriam Sedai waiting, I'll see you later Ranma.
Ranma stood frozen for a moment due the unexpected hug, but then shook herself out of it. She had nothing left for the day so she decided to head back to her room.
Laying on her bed, she thought about how nice it was to get a simple hug without any amorous feeling attached to it. Any other time she'd been hugged it either had unwanted romance attached, or been more of a painful grapple than a hug. Sheriam's punishment didn't seem too bad after receiving such a nice platonic hug from Fyla. Not that it was too bad in the first place. The embarrassment of being bent over someone's leg and spanked like a child was a far worse punishment than the actual spanking itself. After all, Sheriam didn't have Ryoga's strength so she hardly felt it. The punishments she faced from her Pops were far worse. Genma's punishments tended to fall under the categories of cruel and unusual, although of course he'd just call such punishments training.
Meanwhile, in Nerima
Assembled at the Tendo Dojo were the Amazons, the Tendos, and Kuonji Ukyo who had found out about the meeting by paying Tendo Nabiki's usual fee.
"So are we sure Ranchan isn't just on a training trip?" Ukyo asked.
"The boy's packed still here and even if it was a short trip why didn't he say anything. Stupid, ungrateful boy is probably just avoiding his responsibilities," Genma remarked.
"Is that Mrs. Saotome!" Nabiki exclaimed.
Genma quickly grabbed a conveniently placed nearby water bucket and upended it over himself, turning him into a panda.
"Right. Who's running from their responsibilities again?" Nabiki quipped.
Genma merely growled and pulled out a sign reading *The Saotome Secret Technique and running away are two different things.*
Nabiki rolled her eyes. "He probably didn't go training, and I asked my contacts about it today, but no one saw him after him and Ryoga were fighting. Apparently no one stuck around because Ryoga was sending bits of concrete flying all over."
"He's probably off flirting with some new floozy," Akane seethed, although her face betrayed her growing worry.
"You don't think Ryoga might have possibly killed Ranma do you? It's what I would do," Mousse said which promptly earned him a bop on the head from Kuh Lin's staff.
"The Lost Boy is many things, but a killer is not one of them. Although...he may know what happened to Son-in-law. He could be anywhere in the world right now though, and we can't wait for the fool boy to show up or we could be waiting for months. I have brought with me an artifact so feared by Emperor Xuanzong that he had it sealed away for many years until we Amazons reclaimed it. It is the Wheel of Spying, said to show you whoever you wish, wherever they are. The only risk is for the those who are not already in love with the person you wish to see. Whoever you choose to see through the Wheel, you will fall for unless of course you have already done so," Kuh Lon explained. The Wheel sort of looked like a steering wheel from an old ship like a galleon, with a bunch of spokes on the outer rim, and some empty space in the central area.
"Who will use the Wheel?" she asked.
"Xian Pu use, already love airen so so much," Shampoo proclaimed.
"If anyone is going to use it, it should be me, I love Ranchan more than all of you," Ukyo said.
"Akane should be the one, my little girl loves Ranma, and this is our dojo," Tendo Soun said.
"Why would I want to be the one to use it just to see that idiot Ranma. He can...he can have his floozies for all I care," Akane said disingenuously.
They argued back and forth for awhile before Genma stood up, walked into the kitchen and returned as a human. He then grabbed the Wheel.
"He may be a stupid, ungrateful boy who whines like a girl, but he's still my son, and I love him. I'll use it," Genma said.
Kuh Lon nodded. "Family members won't feel anything romantic, only familial love through using the Wheel. Simply turn the Wheel while thinking of son-in-law, and he should appear in the middle of the Wheel. The Wheel will then rotate so that the spoke marked with an arrow is pointed in his direction."
Genma concentrated and then did as directed. An image slowly formed in the center, and once it was fully in focus Genma gaped. There was his son, in female form, wearing a white dress in a small room that she appeared to be staying in. The Wheel did not rotate towards any direction.
"Oh how embarrassing to have such an unmanly son," Genma lamented.
Kuh Lon frowned. "While son-in-law wearing a dress is slightly concerning, I am more worried that the Wheel does not point to his location. That can only mean that son-in-law is not on Earth."
"What! How can that be? How do we get him back if he's not in Earth!" Akane exclaimed.
Naturally Soun cried tears of joy, assuming that Akane was worried for her fiancé and wanted him back.
"I do not know child, I do not know. I will have to consult some of my ancient scrolls. Perhaps they hold a way to retrieve son-in-law. For now at least we know he is alive and well. Xian Pu, Mousse, come, you will help me sort through my scrolls," Kuh Lon said.
She grabbed the Wheel causing the image to shimmer and disappear, and then hopped out of the Tendo compound with Xian Pu and Mousse behind her.
Ukyo looked terribly worried as she said goodbye and headed back to her restraint. Soun seemed carefree, confident that they would find a way to get Ranma back, and then they would hold a wedding! Akane grumbled under her breath about perverts, but as she made her way into the house her face was one of concern, which was mirrored by her two sisters. Even Nabiki's normal ice queen mask was having difficulty staying in place considering that Ranma wasn't even on earth any longer. Shall those lost profits...and maybe she did care for the martial arts jock a little bit too. Genma surprisingly was also worried for his child. Ranma had been on many adventures, but to be sent to another world of all things...he may be a terrible parent and put Ranma through hell in the name of training, but he still cared for his child.
AN:
I hope you enjoy this chapter even if it might be a little on the boring side. The next chapter, Ryoga's Rampage should be a bit more interesting
Xuanzong is a real Chinese emperor that had 40,000 concubines (the website I read this on isn't super reputable, so don't quote me on that lol)
Thus I thought the Wheel and its condition of love would kind of fit well with him, and that he would fit well with Ranma's story with the multiple fiancées and what not. As you can imagine, the Wheel changed many hands throughout his reign, and those who used it fell in love with him.
