Chapter 18: Clash of the Titans

Frieza's eyes widened slightly in surprise, "Ah so you heard of me, not many are foolish enough to approach me unannounced when they know who I am. Wait a second I see it now you're a Saiyan." Surprise mixed with anger that he had somehow missed another Saiyan; not only that but this one had been allowed to get as powerful as he had. There was something else though, it wasn't just that he was a Saiyan, 'I'm sure I've seen him somewhere before.'

"I am a Saiyan, my name is Goku. I am not like the ones you know, I am here to stop you from hurting any more innocent people. Leave this planet now or I'll make you." Goku responded defiantly, his eyes shining with determination. It was in that second that a scarred face he had seen decades ago flashed before the Tyrant's eyes.

"Wait yes, now I remember." His memory of Bardock's last stand replaying in his mind, "I was in a skirmish with a Saiyan that looked just like you. You're his offspring. The resemblance between you is unmistakable. Regardless though, you have done me a huge favor, you Saiyans are getting strong enough to be a pest. It's so much easier when you come to me, as opposed to forcing me to hunt you down individually." Frieza taunted.

"I'm not sure if the warrior you fought was related to me or not, and right now it really doesn't matter. I am here for one reason and one reason only, to stop you from doing any more harm to the innocents of this world." Goku declared emphatically, his fist tightening slightly.

This caught Frieza off guard a Saiyan worried about the natives of a backwater world, 'Preposterous.' "What is your real reason for being here, I am curious. There is no such thing as a 'noble' Saiyan." Frieza said with thinly veiled scorn in his voice.

"I already said I am here to stop you, and stop the carnage you have inflicted on this world." Goku responded, his seriousness never wavering.

"Fine then if that's the game you want to play; then I suppose you leave me no choice but to loosen your tongue some." Frieza's face began to reveal his true self, as a sadistic smirk crossed his face at the thought of breaking a new monkey. "Well then we might as well get started." The Tyrant said with a smirk, before vanishing from view.

Goku's eyes widened slightly in shock, he wasn't expecting Frieza to be quite as fast as he was, almost instinctively he flashed into his Kaioken two, barely managing to raise his arm in time to block the Frost Demon's kick, the force of the block causing his feet to dig into the ground below slightly, but other than that, there was no sign that his attack had ever even landed on Goku.

It was Frieza's turn to be surprised, as he was using a significant percentage of in his base form's full power, and the Saiyan was able to block his attack, as he slowly floated the ground, his tail twitching in agitation, as his mind tried to make sense of what had just transpired. Finally he chocked it up to blind luck on the Saiyan's part. "Consider me impressed, 'Goku' was it? I've only encountered a few warriors able to survive a kick that powerful, let alone block it. I am curious though, how a monkey such as yourself has managed to attain this level of strength." Frieza, never missing a chance to work a verbal attack in on a Saiyan, even in his more cordial moments, responded.

This actually did catch Goku off guard, his hand scratching his cheek, the insult going right over his head. "Lots of training really, especially in the gravity chamber Professor Briefs built for me before I left Earth." Goku responded, not realizing the danger he just put the Earth in.

Yet again Frieza was shocked by the Saiyan, "You mean the planet with the other set of Dragon Balls? Wait so you're the brat's father?" Frieza couldn't believe that Raditz had deceived him about killing his own brother of all things.

"Wait you've seen Gohan!" Goku shouted, desperately wanting to find his son.

"Yes, your idiot of a brother brought him before me so he could begin his initiation." Frieza answered plainly before continuing with the topic he wanted to discuss, "You know your idiot of a brother told me he had killed you when he first came before me, I can see now that everything he said was a lie." Frieza just wanted to confirm the statement as true so he could begin plotting his revenge against the weakest Saiyan.

Goku felt a mixture of feelings at Frieza's last statement, relief that his son was apparently still alive, hopefully heading to the planet at the moment as Chi Chi had said, and anger at whatever Frieza had meant by initiating his son. He could tell, just by the monster's tone that it was not good. But while he was sorting his feelings out on the subject he subconsciously continued the conversation, "No actually he did kill me, right before he took my son. The others wished me back right before the Saiyans, and your henchmen, showed up."

"Ah so I see that your brother isn't a complete liar, I will remember that when it's finally time for his execution." Frieza responded, "Since he already killed you once do you have any suggestions for how I do it? As a last request of sorts, seeing how your second run in this world is almost over I'll give you a chance to choose how your former executioner dies as a going away present." Frieza taunted, before noticing another figure approaching, his scouter registering another above average power level. Within a few seconds one of the natives, a younger Namekian warrior landed, a small amount of sweat on his brow as he was nearly overwhelmed by the power he felt emanating off the duo in front of him.

"Ah and just who might you be?" Frieza asked turning slightly to face the new arrival.

Although Nail knew he was outclassed he couldn't help from feel defiant towards the monster who had slaughters so many of his brothers. "My name is none of your concern Demon. Just know that you must leave this world." His voice not capturing the fury that burned within him.

"Another one of the foolish hero types I see. No matter I will deal with you shortly." Frieza said waving his hand as if to shoo him away, before turning back to face Goku.

"Now where were we, ah yes, I was just about to grant you a final request. Please hurry and decide how I am to kill your brother." Frieza smirked.

Goku's answer though again surprised him, "Kill him? No I don't want him killed, I just want my son back." Goku responded, his entire body language darkening at the thought of Frieza's offer, it just reminded him of the sort of monster he was dealing with, and strengthened his resolve to end his reign of terror.

"So be it, he will die by my hand eventually as it is. You know when that day comes I will actually miss you monkeys somewhat, I've come to get used to the entertainment you monkeys have brought me. Though I suppose I could always find a new favored race, the universe is a large place, and soon I shall live forever." Frieza smirk never wavered as he continued to try and get under the Saiyan's skin, it was proving to be a much harder task than he had anticipated considering the Saiyans he had dealt with the last few decades.

"Like I said Frieza your reign of terror ends here, I am going to stop you." Goku responded before falling into his stance, prepared for the fight of his life his earlier inner struggle set aside for the moment.

"So be it if you are so eager to die let us begin." Frieza responded now fully prepared to break the Saiyan before him, both mentally and physically.

A slight wind blew a small cloud of dust from the ground between the pair, just before the fighters launched, Nail's voice cut through the tension. "If I may make a suggestion, that you take this fight away from Guru's home." Nail asked, not wanting his father, and younger brother to become casualties caught in the crossfire.

"Sure, that's actually a good idea. So what do you say we take this fight somewhere with a little more space." Goku asked the Galactic Emperor.

Frieza really didn't care about the location of the fight, "I suppose I will allow you to pick the spot of your grave, since you have no opinion on your brother's death. Lead the way." Frieza announced, as the duo lifted into the air, and blasted into the distance.

Nail let out a sigh of relief as he watched them land several miles away from Guru's home, "I just hope that is far enough." He muttered to himself. Not leaving his spot in case Guru would need help while the battle took place.

The island that Goku had chosen for the fight was one of the larger ones in the area. It was very flat; the perfect place for what could be the hardest fight of his life.

"Now that, that is over, are you ready to begin the real fun." Frieza's tone barely concealing the mirth he felt at the idea of breaking and killing another Saiyan, especially one who had proven to be a tough nut to crack so far.

"I'm ready when you are." Goku responded his voice full of confidence, before falling back into his stance, mentally prepared to use the Kaioken at a moment's notice.

Then faster than the vast majority of the eyes in the entire universe could see, they were both gone, a massive boom echoing throughout the planet, even shaking the pinnacle that Nail watched from, as Goku's fist collided with Frieza's much smaller forearm, neither one able to move the other back. The stalemate broke a second later as Goku's leg swung up aimed at Frieza's torso, only for the Frost Demon to dodge, both vanishing from view again.

The area around the duo continued to boom with the force of their attacks as Goku and Frieza continued to exchange blows, neither quite able to break through the other's nearly flawless defenses though, until finally Goku's fist slipped though, crashing right into Frieza's sternum, causing the frost demon to gasp in pain. Goku didn't let up though and immediately delivered a powerful axe-handle right to his head, causing the horned alien to plummet to the ground.

Frieza was barely able to recover before he hit the ground, his tail lashing into the rocks below, completely shattering them, rage coursing throughout his body. 'How is a being with a paltry power level of 90,000, a Saiyan even, able to land a hit on me?' It was an absolute insult to the galactic emperor, his eye twitching in fury.

Goku landed calmly a short distance away, his body not even straining under the times two Kaioken. "Are you ready to leave the planet?" Goku asked, his tone staying serious, his guard still raised.

"How… How is it possible?" Frieza muttered to himself, "Is a monkey actually going to force me to do it?" He continued his muttering, completely ignoring Goku's question.

Goku took a step forward, his usual good nature taking over, "Hey are you alright? Can you hear m-" Goku's question was cut off as Frieza's hand shot out a single finger pointed his way, "Die Monkey!" The Tyrant shouted firing a single death beam aimed right at Goku's heart.

The Saiyan warrior was barely able to power up to a times three fast enough to react, his hand deflecting the potentially lethal beam into the sky. Goku's follow up was as fast as it was devastating as he unleashed a bone jarring haymaker faster than the Tyrant could follow, the shock wave of the attack clearly visible as it travelled through his horned skull, before launching the now dazed ruler of a large portion of the galaxy backwards at a breakneck speed.

His flight cutting right through the lone small hill on the island, and continuing clear through the bedrock of the next two islands that got in his way, finally coming to a halt embedded halfway across a third island, his head spinning from the blow.

Seconds ticked by as Frieza continued to collect himself, and the more time passed, the angrier he got, 'How dare that filthy monkey do this to me, I am Frieza, future immortal Lord of the Universe! He is going to pay for that hit, he is going to wish he had never been born.' he thought, his eyes burning with a hatred that was only outdone by how sadistic his smirk had become. Without hesitation he explosively launched out of the rubble surrounding him, and into the air, heading back to the island he had recently been standing on.

Goku knew although his attack had been effective, that it wouldn't be enough to finish the fight yet; so he wasn't surprised that a moment after he had had turned the Tyrant into a speeding bullet, his adversary was back standing before him ready to continue.

"You know that tricked you pulled a minute ago wasn't very nice." Goku scolded the Frost Demon nearly as soon as his feet had touched the ground.

"Yes, I realize that now, allow me to make it up to you." Frieza's voice was icy cold as he said the last statement, as a sinister smirk crossed his lips. As he clenched his fists, his aura flashing around himself as his power began to rise sharply.

Small rocks began to levitate all around the island as the Ice Demon's aura continued to expand. Goku could only stare, surprised by the true depths of Frieza's power. 'Whoa not good this guy is stronger than I thought.' Goku thought to himself as Frieza's power continued to expand.

All around the island, massive tidal waves, disturbed by the Tyrant's rising energy, crashed out in all directions washing away some smaller islands completely.

Chi Chi and Tien had been flying for just a couple minutes when they both felt the massive surges of energies in the distance.

Both came to a complete stop unable to hide their collective shocks at what they were feeling. The energies they felt absolutely dwarfed that of Ginyu and Vegeta, in fact they were both stronger than Ginyu, Vegeta, Nappa and them both combined.

Immediately the duo knew where Frieza had gone, his dark energy swelling near Guru's house. Opposed by an equally powerful light energy.

Finally after several silent seconds Chi Chi forced herself to speak the question itching at the back of her mind. "Is...Is that Goku?" She almost felt absurd asking it, she could barely believe her husband had gotten so powerful.

"I think so, but wow, both powers, their just so unreal." Tien responded, his mind straining to sense the absurd amount of energy in the distance.

A second uncomfortable silence settled over them both as they tried to get over the overwhelming feeling of insignificance that was washing over them.

A short distance away Yamcha was stuck in a similar stupor, only instead of insignificance, fear was its primary motivator. "Oh shit, I have to get off of this damn planet, I'm going to die." Yamcha shouted to no one in particular as he felt Frieza's power completely dwarf Goku's in the distance.

Finally a small voice of reason broke through the fog of his fear, "Got to deliver the radar and then I can get the hell out of here." With that he gathered his aura and continued along his path towards Chi Chi and Tien.

Frieza finally finished his prolonged power up, making a point to levitate several large boulders in the area as a show of force. The Saiyan in front of him just watched on silently, not seeming shaken in the slightest. Finally the emperor got tired of the silence and went on the offensive, verbally at least, "What's the matter, has my power scared you silent? I promise your death will only hurt for a few minutes, I am a busy person after all."

"No, I'm not scared, I'm just surprised you aren't stronger. I mean you are strong and all, stronger than anyone I've ever seen before, but King Kai made it seem like you were absolutely impossible to beat." Goku answered honestly, confident he could win the fight using his times three Kaioken.

Frieza didn't know if he should vaporize Goku for his insolence or laugh at his ridiculousness. He was Frieza ruler of over half of the Galaxy, how could a mere Monkey truly feel the power now emanating off of him and not tremble in fear? Finally Frieza pushed his internal struggle off till later, "I'm not sure who this King Kai is, but you would've been wise to heed his advice. Unfortunately for you, you didn't and there are no take backs now." Frieza said in his more condescending voice attempting again to get a rise out of Goku, and again he failed, as Goku slide into his fighting stance once more.

"Don't worry I wouldn't go back and change a thing, this is going to be a good fight." Goku said confidence pouring off of him like power was rolling off of Frieza.

Frieza finally fully composed again simply chuckled lightly, covering his face in a show of mock embarrassment for his opponent, "Oh you Monkey's always willing to die for a good fight." He said not bothering to fall into any sort of fighting stance. "Well if you are ready to resume, let's begin." The Tyrant said, before raising a lone hand and launching a powerful blast.

Goku's eyes widened slightly in the fraction of a second it took the blast to cross the space between them, then just as the beam hit, he was revealed to be nothing more than an after image. Frieza wasn't surprised by this in the slightest as he kept up a near constant barrage of blasts, aimed wherever Goku appeared, as soon as he appeared.

Nail couldn't follow either of the tiny dots in the distance's movements in the slightest. All he could see were massive purple spherical explosions of energy expanding out all over the island, each one vaporizing yet another chunk of rock from across its surface. Dozens or even hundreds formed and died out in a blink of an eye. The sight was completely awe inspiring, at least it was before the shock waves of the explosions began to shake Guru's pinnacle; the winds so fierce Nail struggled to keep his feet. 'Such power, how is a being that powerful possible.' He thought as he focused more and more of his strength to telekinetically hold up the seemingly increasingly fragile natural stone pillar.

Goku was thoroughly enjoying himself, Frieza's aim was pin point accurate, and the speeds of his blasts made it a fair challenge to stay ahead of the planet busting onslaught. Finally after nearly two minutes of the constant game of cat and mouse, he decided it was his turn to go on the offensive, as he flared his aura, signaling his transition the Kaioken times four.

Everything was going fine for Frieza for the first two minutes since resuming his attempt to put the Saiyan in his lowly place, his blasts being launched just fast enough to keep the Saiyan on the defensive, but slow enough that he could get an accurate idea on the true extent of his power. From what he could tell, the Saiyan was surprising, nearly as strong as himself.

The revelation simply confirmed his assessment of the species over two decades ago, when he determined they posed a potential future threat to his power. Suddenly his internal reflection was interrupted as the Saiyan suddenly, completely, vanished from his view. Before he could even attempt to locate him, his skull was shaken by a punishing blow on his left cheek, sending him flying into a nearby hill.

The Tyrant refused to be taken on a prolonged flight like he had been a moment ago, and quickly regained control of his flight, his hand rising up to his cheek to rub his already red and swelling cheek.

"Why you insolent Monkey! Do you have any idea who I am?" Frieza shouted his inner rage overwhelming the cool exterior he normally presented.

Goku took the question literally though, "Yeah, you're Frieza; aren't you?" Goku asked innocently scratching his cheek confused.

Although Frieza's anger was still rising at Goku's last question, he was able to gain control of himself partially, "Yes you foolish Monkey, I am Frieza the ruler of the universe, what makes you think you have the right to strike me!" He shouted again losing his cool for a second at the end of his question.

"Well we're fighting aren't we?" Goku asked as he continued to try and figure out what Frieza was getting at.

"Enough, I will not be made a fool by the likes of you!" Frieza shouted, now done with his game for the time being, he was going to enjoy making him suffer.

"Bring it on, I'm ready for anything you can throw at me." Goku calmly responded as he dropped into his defensive stance once more.

Frieza again surprised him though, as he visibly calmed down an amused smirk crossing his face, "Is that so, well then do I have a special treat for you." Frieza began to chuckle malevolently, "Yes I think you will really enjoy it."

Goku's poster again relaxed slightly, unsure what to make of the Frost Demon's latest statement. So he just stayed silent for a moment, waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Frieza finally got tired of waiting and continued, "You see the form you see before you is not my true self. I have the ability to transform, in order to hide my true strength. Some might say it is too radical for me to fully control."

Realization dawned on Goku that Frieza had been holding back on him so far. "Well then, I want to fight you at your best." Goku said confidently, never one to let an opponent get away with fighting him with a handicap.

"I figured you would say that, you Saiyans are all alike. There is one condition though." Frieza said his smirk growing slightly.

"What is it?" Goku asked slightly confused.

"I never transform for anyone, unless I get a countdown first." Frieza said completely serious.

The ridiculousness of the claim nearly caused Goku to fall backwards in surprise, "Wait are you serious?" Goku exclaimed not believing the condition the Tyrant just laid out.

"Yes quite." Frieza calmly responded, waiting for the Saiyan to begin with his request.

"Well alright, sure I guess." Goku said as he began to count down from 10. As soon as he reached zero Frieza began to glow brightly, as he yelled his energy surging yet again. It just a second he had finished splitting out of his battle armor and now stood before Goku essentially in the nude. The Saiyan warrior just narrowly avoided the razor sharp shards that shattered when he was finished.

"Wait was that it?" Goku asked confused, Frieza's power level hadn't risen in the slightest, all he had done was rid himself of his armor.

"No not quite.." Frieza said as he smirked, "Allow me to show you something that only a dozen warriors have ever had to privileged enough to see before." Frieza's sneer was nearly maniacal as he began to yell again, a dark aura enveloping his entire being.

The power rushing off of his body was unlike anything Goku had ever felt before, it completely dwarfed the level they had previously been fighting at, and just continued to rise.

It had taken nearly all of Nappa's decades of experience with field medicine to patch the Saiyan Prince up, but he had finally gotten the job done. Vegeta was now dipped into the lifesaving fluids. As soon as he was done he slumped to the ground, amazed that Vegeta's will-power was strong enough that he was still alive. 'That's Vegeta for you, never gives up.' He thought to himself the hundreds of missions that hinged solely on Vegeta's refusal to give up came to mind at the thought.

Suddenly he felt something in the distance, it was horrifyingly powerful, and he immediately knew what had caused it, "No...No...Way. How...How did Frieza's power rise that much...This is...This is bad…Really bad." His mouth could barely form words, his body actually shaking with fear at the enormous power rising in the distance.

Suddenly an idea struck him, "I have to find the Dragon Balls now." He said out loud as he began to search the ship, praying they weren't still with Frieza.

Soon Goku noticed that Frieza's power wasn't the only thing rising, he was growing, and growing, and growing. When the transformation had ended his power had not only doubled, but the once impish Frost Demon was now nearly three times as large as before, towering over him.

Finally his yelling subsided, and the winds rushing off of him as well. Frieza's face was locked in a smug sneer as he now looked down upon the Saiyan that had caused him so much grief before. "Well what do you think?" He asked his voice much deeper. "I hope I haven't disappointed you." Frieza taunted.

"Wow that was some transformation alright." Goku sincerely complimented, "This is going to be a much better fight now." He said eagerly, catching the Frost demon completely off guard.

"You fool! Don't you realize how much my power has grown? In this form my power exceeds a million! You don't stand a chance in hell of defeating me now!" He boasted.

"Whatever you say. But I know I can still beat you." Goku responded confidently, excitement plastered on his face as he dropped into his stance once more, eager to begin the next round of their fight.

A small voice in the back of Frieza's mind noted that the last time the Saiyan before him had made such a claim he had more than been able to back it up. His ego though refused to accept such lunacy and launched forward intending to go on the attack.

Goku's forearm was able to block the attack, his Kaioken times 6 times enhanced arm easily being able to absorb the force, Frieza's eyes began to widen in shock before being forced to draw his arm back and block Goku's counter kick, too late as he was sent flying backwards.

Both fighter exploded back at one another exchanging blows with such force that waves the size of buildings crashed out in all directions, swamping or destroying entire islands.

Tien and Chi Chi had just pulled their attentions from the fight in the distance to continue on their way when suddenly they were forced to come to a stop again. The power they now felt both Goku and Frieza were putting out had now easily doubled.

"Hey I think we just need to get the wish going, I'm not sure if Goku can hold out that long. There is no way he's not pushing his body past its breaking point with the Kaioken right now." Tien announced as he quickly descended towards the closest island to the pair.

"Then we need to help him now!" Chi Chi responded frantically prepared to power up and help her husband anyway she could.

"Chi Chi stop! If you go there now you'll just get in his way." Tien shouted stopping the Ox Princess in her tracks.

"Come on, we can wish the others back and think of a way to escape afterwards, I'm sure Guru is almost out of time." Tien continued as they looked over the seven mythical orbs in front of him.

Chi Chi dropped to the ground irritated at his delay, "Hurry it up then." She scowled catching the former assassin off guard. Quickly he reached his hands out over the orbs and shouted, "Dragon come forth and grant my wish." Instead of a flash of energy shooting from the balls though, nothingness is what they were greeted with.

"Tien hurry up." Chi Chi repeated impatiently.

"Uh… I don't know what to do. That always worked for the Earth's Dragon Balls." He finally conceded.

Chi Chi was incredulous, "What do you mean you don't know how!" She shrieked grabbing his collar, not knowing what else to do.

"Hey guys stop!" A voice suddenly rang out from above, both turned to face the new arrival just as he landed, Yamcha was practically shaking by what he was feeling in the distance. He desperately wanted to escape the planet while there was still a chance. Instead of helping him accomplish that goal though it looked like Chi Chi and Tien were busy either fighting each other or training like it seemed like they always did.

Both stepped away from each other, and faced the ex-bandit, "Here I brought the dragon radar let's hurry and…" It was then that Yamcha noticed the seven blinking orbs behind the other two Earthling warriors. "Oh...Uh… I didn't realize…" Yamcha suddenly feeling his danger filled trip out to find them was completely useless.

"Can it Yamcha, let's get back and see if Bulma can figure out what's wrong." Chi Chi said irritated as the trio rose into the sky heading back to the main base.

For the small Namekian child desperately trying to reach his Human allies, the fact they had been staying still seemed like a blessing. That blessing though appeared to be over as the third Human warrior arrived and they all took off at speeds he could never hope to match.

He pressed on though, resolute in his mission to help the humans who were helping his people the best they could. 'Please don't go far.' He thought to himself, pushing his small body as fast as he could.

Goku had to admit that he was enjoying himself, Frieza's power was truly impressive; it meant he was constantly having to push himself just to keep up. Luckily with the training he had done aboard his ship sustaining Kaioken times six barely was barely more difficult than his times three, he could keep it up for hours if needed.

As the realization was washing over him he was in the process of parrying Frieza's latest assault of small deadly piercing attacks that seemed to be his attack of choice. None of which proved a real threat at the moment though, he was staying one step of each and every one of them.

Suddenly though Goku realized he had just made a major mistake, "Where'd he go?" He shouted surprised that his attacker had vanished while he was busy dodging the latest wave of attacks.

His rhetorical question was answered from behind, where Frieza waited floating upside down relative to Goku, "I'm right here." Two massive crushing arms wrapping around his torso, and his tail around his neck, as Frieza began to squeeze the Saiyan warrior with all of his might. The Frost Demon rotated so the still stunned Goku was facing head first towards the ground, and dropped like a rock towards the island below.

Goku couldn't breathe, he couldn't concentrate on escaping either; it took all of his might to hold onto his Kaioken boost as the ground rapidly approached.

Then the pressure was gone, as Frieza released the helpless fighter face first into the island. The force of Goku's collision completely shattering the island, nearly a dozen separate sections each slipping into the sea.

Frieza didn't bother waiting for Goku to appear again, and immediately charged up a massive ball of destruction in his hand, "Eat this you monkey filth!" He screamed as he launched the attack.

Beneath the turbulent sea, Goku was just beginning to get his bearings, his head was throbbing, and he barely had any air. 'Wow, he can sure pack a wallop, I'm going to have to be more careful' He thought to himself as he began to paddle towards the surface.

He had barely made it a dozen feet up when the water began to glow, his Ki sense ringing in alarm. There was no time to think, only react as he cupped his hands and mentally chanted his go-to technique, "Kamehameha!' as fast as he possibly could, his base-level beam barely slowing the massive ball of energy down.

He kept on though, the small fraction of an effect it did produce, bought him enough to time begin to raise his Kaioken level, finally by the time he was able to reach Kaioken times 6, his beam was able to push Frieza's attack to a standstill, just feet away from his face.

Then he pushed his power above that testing times seven for the first time in an actual battle, as Frieza's attack quickly became Goku's

Frieza's smirk, which had bordered on an actual smile as his attack had force the water to the sides moving in on its target; began to falter as his attack began to slow down, before coming to a complete stop. He couldn't believe it he had put the full power of his current form behind it, yet no matter how hard he pushed he couldn't make it go any lower.

Panic overcame him a moment later as his attack began to move back towards him. "Noooo!" He shouted as it reached him before he could even try and escape, pushing him up into the sky, out through the atmosphere, aimed for parts unknown.

Before the water could rush back in on top of him Goku rose above the water-line, his red aura evaporating as he let out a sigh of relief. A moment later he was standing on a nearby island, staring out into the sky wondering had he finished the Tyrant off, or if the battle was just getting started.

Hey everybody, thank you for your patience with this last chapter, things have been downright crazy this last month or so, kind of how I was expecting it to be this year. As always I will get the chapters up as soon as I humanly can. I'm sorry that I am a day late on my promise of getting an update a minimum of once a month, something came up last minute that kept it from happening this time.

Anyway back to the fun stuff, I hope everyone enjoyed the chapter, it was another fun one to write, I like fight scenes in general. The the twists and turns are really going to start picking up soon so I hope everyone is ready for that.

I want to give a special thank you to MrCamtastic for his offer to give my this chapter a final proof-read and am sorry that it didn't end up working out in the end this time.

I have a request for everyone who is still reading this far down in my Author's notes, that will hopefully help improve any and all upcoming chapters. I know I am a, for lack of a better word, a novice writer, and as I write I've noticed some evolution in my writing style as I continue to do it more and more. I am wondering if overall my style is improving, staying about the same, or getting worse. Is there a chapter that you particularly enjoyed? Any other advice or suggestions for me?

Anyway thinks again everyone, now for the reviews. :)

Reviews:

Super Mystic Gohan

Review: you know what I like about this story and this chapter is ginyu didn't you the change bodies and he died before he could not many stories have that but you did glad the human got the Dragon Balls lets hope will be seeing piccolo and hope goku will get his potential unlock because he wont have much chance against frieza. I hope vegeta makes it out live because he get one hell off a power boost and lets see what all the weaker warriors have instore until next time keep up the good work

Response: Originally I was planning on Ginyu switching bodies with Vegeta, in fact up until my final outline I had it that way, but I hit a little batch of inspiration and bam, you get the story the way it is. Yeah the Human's are kind of shooting themselves in the foot right now but, maybe they can get it turned around. Yeah Vegeta's power boost would be similar to Goku's in the show, their power levels were similar to start with and their injuries were about the same. Thanks again for the review.

Vegeta Fan

Review: great story. i love it. but i was wondering who would you make super Saiyan? i have always been a Vegeta fan and 2 super Saiyans would be awesome in the story, like Vegeta getting mad that goku was the first super Saiyan and transforms in his rage.

Response: I'm glad you're enjoying the story, I am too as I write it lol. Both have the potential to easily be above the minimum power level that I believe necessary for a Saiyan to attain the Super Saiyan transformation, which I believe to be about a million. When the times comes I'll go into more on how I rationalize the Saiyan's power ups. But right now I can't go into detail about what I have planned, it would ruin the fun.

Review: So what happened to Gohan?

Response: He's still in space with Raditz, they were about 2 hours away last time we checked in on them, but as we all know (at least if you've watched abridged) Space minutes are apparently longer than Earth minutes ;). In all seriousness though all of the warriors right now are so powerful that they can go incredibly fast, so fast that a lot can happen in just a few minutes of story. I haven't checked back in again because right now both are asleep so they aren't doing anything interesting.

Gohan's role will expand massively soon though, I envision his role being roughly the same magnitude as Goku in the story as a whole, just haven't been able to focus on him as much as I want to because for the most part he's been stuck traveling throughout space.
