Chapter 21: The Second Chance

"This ends now Frieza!" Goku shouted, his eyes blazing with fury at not only what the Tyrant did to him, but also to his still recovering wife, and his apparently dead friends.

Frieza began to shake his head violently, trying to force the spectator from his view, 'How? How are they coming back! I snapped the brute's neck! I vaporized the righteous fool's innards!'

Nothing made sense to the Tyrant. His mind began taking a mad path, 'That has to be it, the brute was telling the truth! The Monkeys are immortal' Anger mixed with fear and confusion created a dangerous cocktail of dread, "NO! This has to be some sort of trick! I refuse to believe you filthy apes are immortal!" He shouted before launching down at Goku, prepared to beat him until whatever he was using to stay alive was out of him.

He had raised his power much higher than he had before, nearly 10% of his full power, just as his fist reached the Saiyan though the red aura that Saiyan before used against him flared to life. Goku stopped the blow with just his forearm, his power obviously much higher than before.

Frieza's eyes widened in horror. Suddenly, his abdomen bent inwards and he was launched into the sky. He stopped himself almost instantly, his eyes locking onto the native who had just had the gall to attack him. Almost immediately he could see some sort of familiarity with him too, almost as if he had seen him recently, but he couldn't place where. He was so busy trying to work through the madness flowing through his mind that he hadn't even realized his hand was rubbing his sore abdomen.

Chi Chi couldn't believe her eyes. Tears were streaming down her face as she looked to her husband, 'He survived! He's alive.' She cried on the inside, finally she was unable to contain herself any longer. She didn't care that Frieza was floating in the air just feet above him, she jumped to her feet the second Dende was done and rushed to him, "Goku!" She shouted pure joy radiating from her every cell.

Goku's eyes didn't leave Frieza as Chi Chi embraced him, one arm wrapping protectively around her, "It's ok Chi, I'm here." He comforted her, waiting for Frieza's next move.

Dende, still operating from behind Frieza's view quickly and quietly, rushed back over to the slumped over Nappa and began healing him again. Even though his body felt like it was on fire, he ignored the pain; the monster had to be stopped at all costs.

Frieza forced himself to calm down. He needed time to think, so he decided to speak, unfortunately he couldn't form words as easily as he had hoped, "How?" Was all he managed to get out, "HOW!? I KILLED YOU! I SAW YOU DIE! You had a foot wide hole in your stomach when I was done with you." He shouted again after not getting an answer immediately.

Goku's eyes hardened at the Frost Demon's claim, "No I didn't die Frieza, and even if I did someone else would rise up and defeat the evil you represent once and for all." He responded confidently.

Chi Chi's eyes were wide at the latest exchange, "Wait he did what to you!" She said looking down at his immaculate clothes, it looked as if there wasn't a scratch on him.

Goku's seriousness fell apart. Slightly, a sheepish look crossed his face as he rubbed the back of his head, "Yeah he sort of blasted a hole in my stomach like my brother did when we fought." He explained waiting for Chi Chi's blow up.

Instead of anger, like he had expected, she responded with what could only be described as fear and gripped him tighter, "How'd you survive this time?" She asked worried.

"It's kind of a long story. I'm not sure if we have time for it right now." Goku explained, his eye's back on Frieza again.

The Frost Demon was steaming mad at being ignored but he forced himself to sound slightly calmer, "Don't worry I'll wait go ahead, explain yourself." He hissed.

Piccolo nodded indicating he would keep his eyes on Frieza just in case as Goku began to speak.

"Well as much as I can remember it went like this-"

(Flash back)

Darkness had filled his vision. Goku could feel the last gasps of life draining from his body as he sank deeper and deeper. Finally he hit the bottom of the sea, water had filled his lungs, the last primal parts of his mind shutting down.

His body lay at the bottom of the green brackish water for a moment before it began to rise to the surface again. The source of his sudden lift not being visible until he broke the waterline again, a small green child under his shoulder.

The child be-lined straight for the nearest intact rock and set the Saiyan warrior down. Quickly, he set to work using his still unpolished healing powers in a desperate bid to save the warrior who had fought so valiantly to save the child's home.

The seconds ticked by, slowly but surely the limited magic flowing through Cargo's veins was pumped out, closing the massive hole in Goku's stomach. The second it closed the child dropped to his back, staring at the sky, absolutely exhausted.

Sensation slowly returned to Goku. It was as if the last few minutes had been nothing but a bad dream. As he lay on the ground half asleep, his eyes suddenly popped open as his mind realized it wasn't just a dream.

Goku sat up. His hands rushed over his stomach, expecting to have to hold his own innards in, only to find his body in near perfect condition. He stared at his hands for a moment, wondering if it was just a dream, until he realized he better than perfect. The power flowing through his veins was more than he had mustered even at the highest level of Kaioken.

"Good...I...wasn't too late." Cargo managed to say after a few awkward second of silence, pulling Goku from his inward examination.

"Huh? I'm sorry but I don't think we've met, and what do you mean too late?" Goku asked still slightly confused at the situation he found himself in.

"...I healed you...Frieza nearly...killed you…" Cargo said still panting.

"Frieza!" Goku's head whipped back and forth feeling foolish for forgetting to locate the villain the moment he was awake.

"He left...Nail bought your friends time; they have summoned the dragon." The sadness of the child's statement confirmed the cost of Nail buying time. Cargo was too weak to heal him as well but Goku did not catch the reason for the child's sadness.

"Wow thanks I guess I really owe you guys one. Here, let's get you up so we can help Nail." Goku said transferring a tiny amount of power to the child as he pulled him into the air, "Oh now I recognize you. You were one of the two little powers in Guru's house." Goku said as he rushed the child back to his home hoping to do what he could for his Namekian ally.

Within seconds they were before Nail, the warrior was struggling to breathe, "So...you...you...survived…" Nail managed to say between raspy breaths. As he stared up at the warrior who had completely outclassed his own efforts to defend his own home world.

"Yes I did, can you heal him too?" He asked Cargo quickly, "I can give you some more power if you need." He offered quickly.

Cargo's head eyes fell to the ground, "I don't think it would work. My magic is almost exhausted." Suddenly there was a popping sound in the air.

Everyone looked up to see Piccolo's cape cladden back, "So this is Namek huh? Strange, it does seem familiar." He mumbled to himself before realizing others were around. His eyes locking onto Goku and the two Namekians near him. "Goku? Where's Frieza and those humans of yours?" He asked surprised to not see the human fighters who had wished him back anywhere around.

"Hey Piccolo! I guess the others got their wish. Are the others back too?" Goku asked, distracted from the important matters at hand by the sudden arrival of his greatest rival.

"No just me. The Namekian Dragon Balls are somewhat more limited than the Earths." The child of the would-be Demon King explained, his eyes locking to the larger Namekian on the ground, "Who are they?" He asked bluntly.

"I don't know the little guy's name, but that's Nail." Goku said, "He was helping me hold off Frieza. The little guy healed me, but used up all of his magic doing it so we're trying to figure out what to do to help Nail."

"I...know...a...solution…" Nails voice cut in, his eyes locking onto Piccolo.

The Earth born Namekian didn't like the way he was looking at him but stayed silent for a moment.

"Really how?" Goku asked.

"Me...and...Piccolo...could fuse." He said catching everyone off guard.

"Fuse?" Goku asked.

"Nail no!" Cargo cried

"What the hell are you talking about?" Piccolo's voice took on a more aggressive tone, he didn't like the sound of fusion.

"My...body...is wrecked...and you're...weak...compared to...that monster...if we...fused...your power...it would...rise dramatically...you might...be able to...help fight Frieza…" Nail explained as best he could, his time drawing near.

"Thanks for the offer but there just isn't enough room in me for the both of us." Piccolo gruffly responded, though the idea of that much power was appealing, he refused to change who he was.

"What...is...your...ego too...big?" He taunted, "But...really...you... would still... be you...It would...only boost...your power…" Nail partially lied, there would be changes but nothing too major.

Piccolo looked over, more interested, waiting to see if the being before him would continue his sales pitch, but Goku suddenly cut in, "Are you sure Nail? I mean it would be great if Piccolo could catch back up to me some but would you really just cease to exist?" He asked concerned.

"If...it...means...beating...that...monster...it's a...sacrifice...I would...gladly make." He responded the darkness beginning to fill in his vision.

'Another noble fool.' Piccolo thought with scorn. Though he was truly interested, he hadn't noticed it at first but the power billowing off of Goku was bordering on unimaginable, 'If what he is saying is true this might be my only chance to catch back up...damn it'

"Please... decide... quickly." Nail urged, his gaze becoming more glazed over.

"Fine I'll do it. What do I have to do?" He reluctantly agreed.

Cargo realized Nail was running out of time so he answered for him, "All you have to do is put your hand on his chest; he'll take care of the rest." He explained, before continuing to his hero, "Bye Nail." His voice full of sorrow as Piccolo did as he had instructed.

"Goodbye... Cargo...take...care...of...father…" Suddenly both Piccolo and Nail were enveloped in a bright green light. Within a moment Nail was gone. Piccolo stood there, arm extended, panting heavily.

"Did it work?" Goku asked, though no answer was given.

He immediately knew that Nail had lied to him, but at the moment he didn't care. He rose and stared at his hands, not believing what he felt, "Wow...Unreal...My Gosh...This is amazing! I feel INCREDIBLE! YES! YES! YES! I CAN WIN! I FEEL GREAT! I CAN DO THIS!" A smirk crossed his face at the end of his chanting, as he turned to face the landscape around him,

"YES! I am home. I"M ALIVE! THIS IS ALL A MIRACLE! I"M AWAKE! I'M WIDE AWAKE!" He shouted to the heavens.

Goku and Cargo just watched on, unsure what to make of the display. Piccolo finally calmed down some and turned to them, "Well what are you waiting for, let's kick Frieza's ass." A confident smirk on his face at the thought of really testing his new power.

"Wow, Piccolo he was right you did get a lot stronger; sure let's get going." Goku said. Preparing to race Piccolo to Frieza's energy.

'Please wait.' A familiar voice called out inside their heads, 'I am afraid your current strengths may not be enough.' Guru warned catching both off guard. 'Please allow me to unlock your potentials. We may not get another chance.' he begged.

"Unlocking my potential?" Piccolo asked, but Nail's memories answered his question before anyone else could, "I see." A smirk crossed his face at the idea of even more power. "You're on Guru." He said before bounding towards the building, followed by Goku, "Sure I guess that's a good idea." Goku agreed, remembering the last encounter with the Tyrant.

Within seconds the trio were before the grand elder of the Namekians. "Please step forward….We must hurry...Frieza has nearly reached the Dragon Balls…" Guru warned.

Both did what they were asked. Goku was unsure of what the ceremony would entail but Piccolo could rely on Nail's memories for guidance. "This will... take but... a moment." He assured them as he placed his hands on their mutual heads and began to draw their power out to the surface.

Goku and Piccolo's bodies felt on fire with the raw energy being dug up from within them. Suddenly, rather abruptly, it stopped. Guru let out a pained groan, immediately eliciting a response from all in the room.

"Guru what's wrong?" Piccolo asked, Nail's still merging personality asked blaring to the forefront for a second.

"Frieza has reach your friends, I am sorry but I must go." With no further explanation that that, Guru allowed the emotional wound of having nearly all of his children taken from him to overpower him once and for all, his breathing and heartbeat giving way almost instantly. The eldest Namekian had passed on.

Piccolo and Cargo stood silent for a moment, trying to come to terms with the death of Guru. Goku too gave him a brief moment of silence, thanking him for his gift.

Piccolo was the first to break the silence, "Alright, we've gotta get moving." There was a definitive sadness in his voice. "But here, Guru wanted me to do this." He said as he relayed the last message Guru had sent Nail as he died.

Piccolo used his magic to form a perfect replica of Goku's Gi, replacing the tattered rags he had been wearing. "Wow this is great, you even got the symbol right. Thank Piccolo I owe you one." The cheery Saiyan said a bright grin on his face.

"Like I said, Guru asked me to do it. I could care less what you wear." Piccolo responded brushing the thanks off before shooting into the air.

With that the duo set off, prepared to end the evil shadow Frieza was casting on the planet once and for all.

"And that just about sums it up." Goku finished.

Frieza's eye's immediately narrowed before shifting back to the Namekian child standing behind a now perfectly fine Nappa, "Now that does explain things." His voice calm again.

In a flash he had whipped around, a singular blast fired at the small child. Chi Chi couldn't even follow the attack, Nappa saw it but couldn't react in time. Neither could follow Piccolo's movements though. As the Namekian appeared in front of the attack and deflected it to the sky.

"That's a low blow, even for someone as despicable as yourself. Instead of taking on any of the warriors who would gladly kick your ass, you attack a defenseless child." Piccolo snarled, not even realizing the degree to which Nail's still merging personality was flaring to the surface.

Frieza was aloof, "Defenseless or not, the child was interfering so he has opened himself up as a target. I prefer to only have to kill pests such as yourselves once. I don't need to spend all of my valuable time reliving each kill. Though I'm sure noble fools such as yourselves wouldn't understand that." Though on the inside the idea of getting to break the supposedly noble Saiyan down again was appealing to him.

A dark smirk spread across Piccolo's face signaling the return of Piccolo's personality to dominance, "Noble fool huh." A dark chuckle escaped him as he shook his head, "I think you have me mistaken for someone else." He said.

"You really have no idea what I am do you? Then I suppose I shouldn't expect a deranged sociopath such as yourself to know any better. Call it nostalgia but I won't be allowing you to kill anymore of my people. I'll be keeping them around when I replace you as ruler of the universe." Piccolo's confidence never wavered, his eyes making contact with Goku's for just an instant as he made his not so subtle challenge to them both.

Goku nodded to show he understood. Both realized a rematch between them was inevitable but first they had to take care of a mutual threat.

"Oh, I'm so scared." Frieza sneered, "You think I haven't run into thousands of fools just like you? Fools who think they are tough but devolve into wetting themselves when they inevitably learn the truth. Ha! Sure you blocked my attack but I assure you that's not the best I can do. I haven't even begun to show even a fraction of my full strength yet."

Piccolo's confidence was unwavering, "Good, neither have I..." He smirked as he threw his weighted turban and cape to the side. Popping his neck and assuming his stance.

"Hey Piccolo, I know you want to test out your new strength and all but I think we should take him together this time." Goku warned a bad feeling in the back of his mind at Frieza's claim of not even starting to show his true power yet.

"Butt out of this Goku. You had your chance, now it is my turn." Piccolo practically snarled, his eyes never leaving Frieza.

"Come now you two don't have to fight over little old me. You'll both be dead in a few minutes either way." Frieza said snickering.

Piccolo's short patience had now reached its end. His Kaioken flared to life. Frieza didn't even have time to react before the Namekian's fist had embedded itself in his cheek.

The Frost Demon staggered backwards, barely able to raise his forearm in a desperate attempt to block Piccolo's follow up blow. Unfortunately for him, the attack didn't materialize the way he had predicted Piccolo's outstretched arm aimed just below his guard. Before he could adjust his arm a massive orange blast crashed into his abdomen sending the frost demon backwards, into a nearby rock formation.

Piccolo stood there panting ever so slightly, surprised by how difficult sustaining a Kaioken times three was now that he was back to his mortal body. 'I guess I'll have to keep my power ups short if I want to make him pay.' He thought with a smirk, 'Though if this is all he's got I don't have much to worry about.'

Any further thought was cut off by a guttural scream as Frieza burst from the rubble a few minor scratches dotting his body, a dark aura completely covering him. "You think you're strong do you? Well guess what, you are nothing! You are the worms beneath the dirt to me! I've only been using less than 5 percent of my power against you both! Now though, now you've pissed me off. Let's see how you like 10 percent!"

Piccolo's eyes were wide in terror. Frieza's power had exploded, dwarfing his previous output. Frieza rushed forward, just slow enough that Piccolo could follow him. Just as the Namekian began to raise his Kaioken but there was a something stopping him. He couldn't force himself to go to a times 5. 'What's happening? I need to push further.' His Kaioken aura flared up before collapsing completely. Piccolo dropped to the ground, his muscles feeling fried, just in time to dodge Frieza's kick.

The Frost Demon's tail was another matter as it slammed into his back, embedding him into the ground. Frieza's tail finished the maneuver by wrapping around Piccolo's neck an instant later and pulling him up to face him, "Come now don't tell me you're already out of fight." He taunted.

Piccolo's power was intact but his body was fried. Although his body's natural regenerative ability was rushing to heal the damage over doing the Kaioken had caused, it wasn't going to be fast enough.

When he didn't responded Frieza kicked him into the air intending to appear behind him and let loose on him from behind. But as he appeared behind Piccolo, the Namekian vanished, nothing more than an after image.

"Where-?" Frieza started to ask before answering his own question, as his eyes locked into Goku's reappearing form. He quickly set Piccolo down who grumbled something quietly to himself.

"You're not getting away that easily...huh?"

As Piccolo began to curse how weak his mortal body was compared to his other world body Goku asked his question, "Hey Piccolo what happened out there? With how long you were at King Kai's, I figured a times three wouldn't have been your limit."

"I don't know. I guess my body needs time to adjust." He responded with a frown, not happy at the turn of events.

"Oh that makes sense I guess." Goku responded.

'Wrong.' A familiar nasally voice cut into their heads.

"You have something to say old man?" Piccolo shouted to the sky, causing Frieza's latest speech to get interrupted by his confusion.

"Are you talking to me Slugman?" Frieza asked as curious as he was confused, as he touched down on the ground a short distance away.

Goku turned to Frieza, "Nope, he's talking to King Kai." was all he said before listening to the conversation once more.

The Emperor just watched them trying to decide whether their shared, obvious insanity was contagious or not.

'I know what happened but if you're going to continue to be rude to me, like you've been today, I won't tell you.' King Kai responded to Piccolo, a smug expression on his face even though his student couldn't see it.

"Tell me now or the next time I make it to your planet I'm going to rip those antennas of those right off you!" Piccolo shouted in response, causing King Kai to recoil slightly on the other side as he contemplated the likelihood of Piccolo arriving soon to follow through on his threat.

'With that attitude of yours, I doubt King Yemma will let you through again. If you're not going to be nice then I guess you're out of luck.' King Kai retorted.

Piccolo growled quietly to himself, his anger simmering for a moment, "Fine will you tell me what is wrong?" He asked taking as nice a tone anyone had ever heard from him, though it still was harsh enough to scare small children.

"What's the magic word?" The blue deity responded.

Piccolo's fist clench several times as he stood fully up his regenerative properties finally finishing their job of repairing his singed muscles. He growled again for another moment before letting out a sigh in defeat. "Please…."

Frieza wasn't sure what was going on, but if this King Kai existed, the amount of mental pain he seemed to be putting the native through made it seem as if the Emperor would enjoy meeting him. At least for a few minutes before he killed him slowly for aiding his enemies.

'Good enough I suppose, the reason you can't take the Kaioken as far as you did before is because your soul isn't solo anymore.' King Kai said before breaking down into snickers at his pun.

"What the hell does that mean!" Piccolo shouted furious at King Kai playing games at a time like this.

'I mean because you fused you are duel souled. In order to do the Kaioken you have to open an equal number of paths in both souls, otherwise it'll become unbalanced and you will drain all of the life force in the individual souls almost immediately.' He explained.

Piccolo was shocked. His previous anger vanishing as he looked down at his hands, "So the source of my power is now my limit. hn, if I had known that before, I'm not sure I would've done it." He said to himself more than anyone else.

'No I would've warned you otherwise. Even if you managed to take Kaioken as far as Goku has you wouldn't be as strong as you are now. I won't get into specifics about how it works but you and Nail's souls are much stronger together than apart. If you can learn to master balancing your paths between the souls you should be able to use Kaioken on a limited basis, but you will never take it as far as Goku has unfortunately.' He explained much to Piccolo's chagrin.

After a moment of silence Piccolo let out a sigh, "What's done is done. Goku it looks like this fight is up to you." As much as it pained Piccolo to say it, right now he was completely outclassed if what Frieza said was true about only using a tenth of his power.

Goku nodded to Piccolo; the Saiyan Hero then turned to face the frost demon, his eyes tightening "Alright Frieza my turn."

Kami's legs were on fire. He had been running for weeks on end but, up until about 10 minutes ago, he hadn't felt anything. The long weeks of running completely alone, the others had completely outpaced him.

"What...happened...?" He mumbled out of breath. As he looked over at the reflective scales on the side of snake way. "I've been wished back?" It was a shocking realization. The guardian of the Earth felt stupid for not realizing it earlier.

Immediately, he focused his mind using the technique he had been taught when he became guardian of the Earth. In an instant he was standing back in King Yemma's office.

"Kami? What are you doing here?" The giant ogre shouted in surprise his soul judging groove temporarily thrown off.

"It appears I have been wished back to life and can only go back to my lookout from your office. I am sorry for my sudden appearance." Kami apologized with a bow.

"It's quite alright. Just don't make it a habit." The soul judging Ogre said with a wave of his hand, "Just get out of here so I can get back to work."

With that the Guardian of the Earth finished his trek to his home, arriving at his longtime home. "Mr. Popo I'm back!" He called looking for his ancient friend. "Mr. Popo?"

Still silence, after a moment of focusing his mind he realized where his friend was, he and one of their ex-students were gathering the Dragon Balls, for what means he did not know. They appeared to be making good time though, they were already down to just two balls remaining.

'I suppose our reunion will have to wait a little longer old friend.' Kami thought to himself as he breathed in the fresh air and celebrated the fact he was alive, and home, once more.

"Uuuggghhhh!..." A loud moan broke the silence of the island. "Crikey, My head is killing me."

Jeice's mind took a moment to settle down as he attempted to remember what had happened. Fear shot through his veins as he jumped to his feet, arms raised defensively, scanning the battle scarred landscape.

There was no one else around though, besides Burter and what was left of Guildo that is.

"What the hell? How am I alive? He asked no one in particular as he woozily made his way towards Burter's slumped body, expecting the worst.

Again he was surprised, his blue friend's chest was rising and falling slowly as if he was simply in a deep sleep.

"'Ay! Burter! Get up!" Jeice shouted shaking his friend. After a moment he proved successful, the blue reptilian alien's eyes slowly opening.

"Jeice?" He asked confused as to why Jeice was waking him, and the fact the red alien looked so battered.

After a moment his brain followed a similar path Jeice's had as a look of terror crossed his face, "Where is he?" He whispered, eyes darting around.

"Not sure mate, but I think we better get going while the gettin's good." He responded, helping Burter to his feet.

Quickly and quietly the duo took to the sky, heading roughly in the direction Nappa and Recoome had been fighting.

They had flown for a few minutes, following the trail of destruction before finally coming to its end. On the ground before them lay a badly charred Recoome, face locked in a painful grimace as he tried to slowly crawl towards the water's edge, desperate to stop the burning sensation racking his body.

"Hey Recoome! You're ok! We were worried about you buddy." Burter called as he landed before the still prone, and slowly moving orange mutant.

After another desperate claw forward Recoome turned his head slightly, "Need...water..." Was all he weakly managed before his head dropped to the ground unconscious again.

His allies worked quickly and got some water in his system but he didn't wake up. "Damn, Burter, I think we need to get him to Frieza's ship." Jeice said as he lifted the giant up onto his shoulder.

"Yeah I think you're right, let's get moving!" he responded before both took flight. Heading towards Frieza's ship, and hopefully reviving their downed comrade.

Hey everyone, I bet you are surprised this chapter got up as fast as it did based on my A/N last time, well you can thank everyone who reviewed for the change in plans :). Because there were so many reviews last time it convinced me that sleep was slightly less important than getting this chapter up. Also one of my tests got pushed till monday so it freed up some time to finish the chapter. Thank you everyone for your continued support as this story has gone on, just remember the best is yet to come.

I will still try to get another chapter up sometime over thanksgiving break, but it will be much harder since I got this one up, cutting my available writing time in half.

To all Gohan fans, I am sorry I haven't been showing him very much this arc, but he will be appearing again either the end of next chapter or the start of the chapter after that. Additionally upon completion of the Namek Saga there will be a Gohan focused mini-arc, so you have that to look forward to. I can assure you his role will begin to rise exponentially soon.

Special thanks to MrCamtastic for another fantastic editing job.

Review: Do you use a multiplier for Super Saiyan, or the Bringer of Death model?

Response: I lean more towards the Bringer of Death model, though the requirements to become the different levels and the boosts they deliver may be different. For SSj 1, I believe you have to already be extremely powerful in order to break down the wall keeping you from the inner well of energy that is the SSj transformation. Around 1,000,000 is the minimum I have set. The boost the first transformation gives is fairly close to that of BoD though, about 147,000,000, before any training to master the transformation.

Review: Whoa that was severely awesome
BTW wht is vegeta's role going to be, for even when he heals up he'll be around 2,000,000 nt even remotely enough to do any damage. So will he just u knw help evacuating or so during the fight?
And just wanted to ask something from you, will the zenkais stop after a certain limit of power is reached and will start up again only once you have managed to transform(for the saiyans)?

Response: Thanks, I'm glad you are enjoying the story. Vegeta's role in this part of the arc will be different than it was in the show for sure, As a Vegeta fan I think alot of people will enjoy his role, it's vital to the outcome of the battle for sure. I would love to be able to tell you more than that but it would spoil some of the surprises I have in store for everyone, sorry. pretty accurate powerlevel estimate though I noticed.

As for Zenkai's I believe they operate exactly as you described, with 5-10 million being the cap for the first level, if you do not unlock the super saiyan transformation. I'm going to go alittle bit astronomy major here but the transformation seems to work sort of like how electrons absorb photons. You have to be above a set minimum energy for it to work at all, but the higher the energy the more likely the transformation is to take place, if that makes sense.

Review: Man this chapter was really awesomeeee
So 1 thing wondering about the story, for ssj, are you taking the times50 multiplier or the other boost that just adds a certain amount of power to the base? Also what is vegeta's role going to be, cause after healing too his power will be somewhere around 2,500,000(goku in cannon was stronger and with zenkai reached 3,000,000)
Update soon, love this story

Response: Glad you liked it. I lean more towards the the BoD method of SSj power ups. I can understand the argument for either, but I just think the power level growth seen in the show seems to match the set amount addition idea closer than the times 50 multiplier.

You and the other anonymous were both very close to what I have Vegeta's power level post zenkai will be. His role is going to be very important to how this arc ends. I unfortunately can't go into anything more specific than that on the matter though, there are some surprises I have in store for him ;).

Review: well i haven't reviewed in awhile and well done on how well this has come. nappa remains my fav atm. im abit disappointed that goku didn't die. i was almost hoping at the end if piccolo would be the savior of namek and his people. that might still happen but yeah was hoping goku would have remained dead just to see how the heroes would survive without their great goku.

Response: Hey yeah it has been a few chapters, I was afraid you had stopped following the story. Thanks, I am glad you are still enjoying the story. Yeah I think there are quite a few people who would've enjoyed seeing that sort of ending, only a few more chapter till you find out for sure. I also like the idea of some of the other characters getting to take down some of the main villians, Basically from here on out be on the lookout for unexpected heroes.

Review: a few things about this chapter tien got killed like a boss in that way shame I hope when he comes back he get abit off revenge against frieza, yamcha went out like a badman blowing himself up good man! nappa got beaten like a bitch which is funny and so goku back again aye that's interesting.

Response: Yeah Tien and Yamcha were both going to go down pretty early in this fight, I knew that about as soon as I started this arc, so I decided to send them both out in style. Yup, but remember beating a Saiyan up may be funny but it only makes them stronger ;). Yup Goku and Frieza round 2 is just about to begin.

Review: Umm a zenkai'd up nappa is at 2 millions and tien and company at around 70 thousand
A times 3 Kaioken takes them to just above 200 thousands
How did nappa be intimidated? Either nappa be weaker or they be much much stronger meaning yamcha's suicidal attack also be much greater in power and well frieza just might be gravely injured(if they r much stronger that is) and if not then nappa would be screwed bad...
So well do correct this one flaw

Response: Sorry I guess I didn't make that very clear, Nappa didn't get a zenkai between the Ginyu fight and Frieza snapping his neck. His power level was the same as it was during the Ginyu fight. So each of the Earthlings were around twice as strong as he was, and none of them even realized it, much like Gohan and Krillin didn't in the show. After he got his neck snapped though he got a nice big Zenkai, putting him about 2 million, and now he's gotten a second one by being pounded into paste by Frieza so he's even stronger at 2,300,000. Thank you for pointing that out though, I went back and tried to make it more clear. I hope you continue to enjoy the story!

Review: can you update faster. love the story. oh and make Vegeta the one to beat frieza people are searching for those kind of story's.

Response: I will do my best, when I get as many reviews as this last chapter it makes it hard not to speed things up :). I think you and others who want Vegeta to defeat Frieza, will enjoy Frieza's end ;). I hope I can continue to make the story well enough that you continue to follow.

Darkjaden-

Review: I want some gohan moments.

Response: I'm sorry I've neglected Gohan so far, don't worry they are coming, they are coming. I think you'll really enjoy the arc immediately following the Namek saga, i will attempt to make up for some of my current neglect with a Gohan focused arc. I hope you continue to follow the story :).

Thanks again everyone, you will hopefully hear from me again sometime around thanksgiving.
