Chapter 1

The Party

"I told you, I'm not going!" Izzy exclaimed angrily. Her friends, Neo and Julia, who were really her only friends, have been trying again and again to convince Izzy to socialise more. Izzy on the other hand… made it very difficult.

"Izzy come on! Some socialising might do you some good!" Julia said.

"Or just get laid" Neo signed bluntly.

"For fuck's sake… not helping Neo!" Julia hissed, causing Neo to raise her hands in surrender.

For some context, Izzy, which is short for Isabella Nightshade, is your average typical shy goth girl. She often stayed home rather than go on outings. That of course didn't mean she didn't go outside, her house was right beside a beach, only decided by a single road. She would often go out on walks, wearing her usual black attire and listening to bands like Fall Out Boy, Skillet, Guns and Roses and yes, even My Chemical Romance, on her headphones. Julia on the other hand was also a goth girl, however she wasn't as shy as Izzy was. They met at a Skillet concert and bonded quite easily, sharing their musical and clothing passions. Julia was about 5'4 compared to Izzy's 5'3, she had yellow eyes in contrast to Izzy's blue eyes and she had semi-long black bangs. Neo on the other hand was the quite different, she was 4'10, her hair was half pink and half brown which was matched by her heterochromatic eyes, which one was pink and one was brown. Her full name was Neopolitan, which wasn't her real name, but she's never told anyone and didn't plan to. Neo was a very outgoing person, often would hookup with boys and spend the night at their places. However despite all of this, her main flaw (minus her height), was her inability to speak. She had suffered an accident at a young age, her vocal cords damaged and forced her to learn sign language to communicate.

Whilst Neo is a one night stand seeker, Julia is in a relationship with a guy named Andrew Graves. They'd been dating a year now, however.. His sister, Ashley, has been known to act rude towards Julia, and that was the main reason they fought a lot. Izzy however was single, and a Lesbian, which made it harder to find a partner as most the people in Toronto were straight.

"Izzy, just come with us to the party, just this once, we'll never ask again!" Julia pleaded.

"I'm in no mood to go, socialise and definitely NOT get laid!" Izzy scoffed, which earned a pout from Neo.

"Fine, we'll tell Kim about your crush on her then" Neo signed.

Julia, annoyed with Neo's blackmail was about to scold her but to her surprise, Izzy actually began grabbing her stuff.

"Fine, fine, I'll go… just this once though!"

The party itself was loud and very crowded, much to Izzy's discomfort. Neo had already gone off with some random guy, to nobody's surprise. Julia on the other hand met with Andrew, however last Izzy saw them, they were arguing, though they did that a lot so she didn't think much of it at the time. That unfortunately left Izzy on her own, in the one place she didn't want to be in. She walked around aimlessly, drinking her soda. She thought about trying to talk to someone, but she was very socially awkward. She was thinking to just leave, but that's when Izzy saw her.

Leaning on the wall not too far from her, was a girl she had never seen before. Blue eyes like infinite pools of water, pink hair with blue tips that really made her shine, and a leather jacket similar to hers but brown instead of black. Her heart began racing faster than her watch could calculate, the more she stared, the faster her heart raced. Izzy knew that seeing this girl again was very unlikely, so if she didn't make her move now, she mightn't see her ever again. With one big sip of her soda, she nervously approached the girl. Izzy leaned on the wall and slowly inched towards the girl. The girl turned to face her, causing Izzy to freeze. Her blue eyes piercing through Izzy, as if judging her silently.

"H-hi" Izzy said simply, trying to control her stuttering but failing miserably.

"Hey" the girl replied.

Izzy was trying to recall one of the many pick-up lines she studied for a case like this but came up blank, so she decided to introduce herself, despite getting more and more nervous.

"I-I'm Isabella, I-Isabella Nightshade… b-but m-my friends c-call me Izzy f-for short" Izzy stuttered.

"Izzy huh? cute name" the girl replied, sending a shiver down Izzy's spine.

"I'm Ramona Flowers, but you can call me Ramona" Ramona said.

Izzy couldn't help but wonder how the hell this girl could speak so calmly, then again she probably wasn't a nervous wreck like herself. Awkward silence befell the two, the party music and the sound of people talking or laughing were all that overlapped the silence.

"So… what brings you here?" Ramona eventually said.

"W-well… p-peer pressure mainly…" Izzy admitted, which she immediately regretted after Ramona started laughing.

"I'm sorry, but that makes it sound like you don't go outside or something!" Ramona said between laughs.

Eventually Ramona calmed down, much to Izzy's relief.

"So where are the ones who 'peer pressured' you?" She asked.

"W-well… one w-went off t-to get l-laid b-by some guy… a-and the other i-is somewhere with her b-boyfriend" Izzy said, cursing herself for stuttering so much.

Before either could speak again, as if right on cue, Julia appeared again. However she did not look happy, she looked furious.

"There you are, come on, we're leaving" She said sternly before leaving.

"S-sorry… I guess… I gotta go… i-it was n-nice to m-meet you Ramona" Izzy said.

"Likewise, I'll see ya around" Ramona said, waving goodbye to Izzy as she headed outside.

Julia hadn't started driving for 20 minutes once Izzy entered the car. She began to rant for 20 minutes straight before finally starting the car. It turned out that Andrew had cheated on Julia, with his own sister Ashley. Which was fucked up, but Izzy wasn't all surprised, considering that both Andrew and Ashley were… well… mentally unstable to put it in the kindest way possible. Izzy had known both of them since childhood, and they were always rumoured to be dating during high school. Whether or not that was true back then, it was true now. And by how it sounded, Andrew used Julia as a cover to knock off suspicion. Once they reached Izzy's house, Julia sat on Izzy's couch, crying her eyes out whilst Izzy did everything she could to cheat her up.

"I knew he was a prick but… this is crazy" Izzy said.

"YOU THINK I DON'T KNOW THAT?! HE FUCKING USED ME AND CHEATED ON ME! WITH HIS SISTER!" Julia screamed through tears.

"Well… he's a dick, you can do so much better than him" Izzy said.

This went back and forward a while until Julia fell asleep on the couch. Izzy placed a pillow under her head and a blanket over her body. She went upstairs and looked out her balcony at the beach. Her mind wouldn't stop drifting back towards Ramona flowers. The way she spoke, the way she smiled, it was just mesmerising and hypnotic. Izzy didn't care how, and she didn't know how, but she was gonna find Ramona Flowers and summon the courage to ask her out, one way or another…

(Note: If you didn't watch the Coffin of Andy and Leyley, then you are lucky. The whole thing between Andrew and Ashley actually happened in the game. i implemented it here for a way to give Julia a fresh start as in the game she's mentioned few times. I hope y'all enjoyed the first chapter of flowering nights! FYI I might add andrew and ashley in a future chapter but I'm still thinking that over. until next time, Neopolitan out)
