Chapter 49: End of a Dynasty

The beautiful forests around Mt. Paozu were quickly being reduced to rubble as four incredibly destructive fights were going on simultaneously. The most notable taking place high in the sky though as Piccolo engaged Cooler, next in line to rule the Planet Trade. In just the opening minute the duo had already exchanged hundreds of blows, and in that time it was clear to both fighters one was at a distinct disadvantage.

Cooler was panting heavily, his body battered and bruised as he stared at the Green Warrior who was the most likely culprit of his father's death. His power was unbelievable, already exceeding that of the other two warriors he had eliminated with his sneak attack earlier. Silently he cursed himself for not scouting his opposition closer beforehand. To further complicate matters, apparently his introduction had provided the remaining defenders time to plan their next move. It seemed even the weakest of this planet's warriors were holding their own against his elite Armored Squadron.

Cooler tanked another hit from the relentless Namekian before dashing away to gain some distance. 'Damn! I have no choice, I must use my final transformation!' The galactic terror decided as he began to channel energy throughout his body, willing it to change form and grant him increased power.

Across from him Piccolo allowed his muscles a moment's rest, if he had simply allowed himself to be healed by Dende before Goku returned him to the lookout he would be able to sustain his Kaioken much longer than he could now. Fortunately it was abundantly clear the Frost Demon he was facing now wasn't even up to Frieza's level.

He could finish this fight with a lighter Kaioken load. In fact, even his base power level should be enough to fight evenly especially with the amount of damage he was able to inflict in just the opening salvo. The one thing that was troubling him though was how Cooler appeared to put more thought into his actions, and was somehow able to suppress his power level enough to be undetected while Goku and Vegeta were going all out. His apparent sneakiness made it clear he should end the battle quickly in case he had any other tricks up his sleeve.

Salza's mind was spinning, nothing made sense. This apparent nobody on a backwater planet wasn't simply able to keep up with him. No she was beating him into the ground with complete and utter ease, she was playing with him almost, dragging out whatever punishment she keep driveling on about dishing out to them all. His face contorted into a snarl as much from pain as rage as he dropped to one knee from the latest in a long series of bone crushing kicks.

Just as Chi Chi lunged forward still barely containing her rage Salza's hand took on a purple glow.

It was one at the last second she realized the danger and launched herself backwards, narrowly avoiding the slash which would've cut her abdomen wide open, and kill her unborn child before she even had a chance to see them.

Her reluctance to kill vanished immediately. This being had immediately made itself a threat to her child, something she could never forgive.

Salza's last sight before his body disintegrated was a large yellow blast that was formed and fired before he even say Chi Chi move.

Chi Chi immediately turned to locate her next target, when she was suddenly blinded by an intense light.

Lime was going toe to toe with Dore even without using Kaioken. She was trying to not give away her full strength until she had gauged just how powerful her adversary was. One thing was for sure though, he needed to work on his technique.

After easily parrying the latest the long armed attack and delivering a powerful straight punch to his throat. She immediately followed the strike up with a Kaioken empowered kick to the forehead, intending to make her opponent reveal his true power. Instead she ended up causing his world to go dark, permanently as his skull shattered on impact. She was just turning to see how Trunks was doing when she felt an overwhelming power rush forth, followed by a massive wall of energy.

Trunk's Kaioken aura was glowing brightly as he took on the tall, tan fighter known as Neiz. His small body just beginning to feel the effects of holding the power boosting technique as long as he had.

Neiz on the other hand was having trouble catching his breath. 'Impossible...is this runt really pushing me this hard…I guess Lord Cooler was right to bring all of us along after all…' Wasting his time on his inner musing though Neiz failed to realize that Trunks was already back on the attack until the child was already back in the air heading right towards him.

Trunk's mind was a mixture of emotions, it was the first life and death struggle since that day. The day that haunted him every waking moment even months later. All he could see was blue from the moment that monster appeared and killed Goku, and the man who was supposedly his father. It was like everything kept blurring back and forth between the fight he was having now, and the slaughter he saw in his dreams. With every exchange his rage grew hotter and hotter, until it felt like he was going to explode. As he pummeled away at the staggered planetary pirate's defenses. Finally his power had reached a point where Neiz could no longer keep up and a powerful blow slipped through his defenses sending him flying backwards.

Immediately Trunks cupped his hands in the now famous Turtle School stance and unleashed a massive Kamehameha wave, not only with many times more power than was needed to finish the job, but more power even than he should've been able to generate even at his maximum level of Kaioken.

Chi Chi and Lime both came to a stop the instant they finished their own opponents and were left in awe of the child's surprising power. That was an attack at a level Chi Chi wasn't sure she could even produce without boosting herself several times with Kaioken.

Trunks was left panting on the ground, his muscles burning as he felt a small amount of relief.

Before anyone could congratulate the child on his first real life victory the battle above pulled in all of their attentions as the night sky was suddenly filled with an eerie purple light.

On the ground below the main fight Nappa was just beginning to pull himself from the rubble he was embedded into, his entire body was aching as if he had just had a full day sparring session with Vegeta, even though he had only taken a single blow. His fist were trembling with rage at his own weakness, knowing Piccolo would undoubtedly steal his chance to avenge Vegeta. It was something he couldn't allow. Immediately Nappa channeled his strength and launched into the air intending to land a single blow to the Frost Demon if nothing else.

Piccolo launched forward intending to end the latest threat to the Earth with a bone shattering combo. Just as his body went into motion though Cooler's face twisted into a smirk.

Piccolo realized what was about to happen just a fraction of a second too late as Nappa's suddenly appearing form was violently tail-whipped straight into the Namekian warrior.

Piccolo was forced to come to a stop, as he caught and promptly threw the Saiyan General away "Stay back!" He ordered and rushed forward again but it was too late.

Cooler's body was surrounded in a dark purple light as his body began to expand behind the light, and continued to morph.

Piccolo's eyes were wide with shock, he had known that the Frost Demons could transform based on what he had learned from Frieza and Cold, but he was certain that Cooler was in the same final form as the previous two Frost Demons. Now though Cooler's power was skyrocketing towards his own maximum at an alarming rate. All around the battlefield debris stirred up from the many battles lifted into the air.

"I didn't expect to have to use this so soon, but I think you should be honored, to be the first ones to see my new form!" Cooler shouted from behind a shell of expanding purple light.

As soon as the transformation finished the entire battlefield was still, an uneasy quietness filled the entire mountain.

Piccolo's fist tightened slightly in frustration at the Saiyan General's interference. 'Things just got a lot more interesting…' He ruely thought to himself as he prepared to power up his Kaioken.

Chi Chi's entire body was shaking, while the monster before them wasn't at the level of King Cold, she instantly knew how completely and utterly she and the other human fighters were outmatched. If Piccolo couldn't find a way to stop him, the only hope they had was that Videl could get Goku or Vegeta healed fast enough that at least one of them could survive the horrific wounds they had received and make it back in time to save them.

A chill went down her body when the entire mountain shook under the force of their first impact, it felt like an eternity before the light her brain had even processed the light. Nearly a hundred blows were exchanged in the fraction of an instant it took for her mind to fully process the brief instant they were standing there. Both fighters were clearly moving at such speeds it was as if they were in hundreds of places at once, each one unleashing a devastating wave of energy destroying more of her mountain home.

'Please Videl hurry!' She silently prayed.

Piccolo and Cooler seemed to be evenly matched, what was worse for the Namekian warrior, Cooler had quickly been able to pick up the general feel of Piccolo's own style just from the brief exchange they had had before, even though Piccolo had been absolutely pummeling him before.

Piccolo raised his arm in a high block just in time to block a powerful downward swing from the super-charged Frost Demon, and unleashed a quick blast of eye-beams, barely skimming Cooler's bone enhanced shoulder. The Frost Demon's slightly too slow reaction was just enough to give Piccolo time to try and press his advantage as he swung his knee up intending to land a hit to Cooler's abdomen.

Cooler was one step ahead of the Namekian warrior though, his tail wrapping around Piccolo's still rising ankle at the last possible second and hurling the former guardian of the Earth back towards the planet he was once charged with protecting. "Here!" Cooler shouted as he fired a series of his family's patented death beams from his outstretched index finger.

Piccolo raised a shield of Ki after falling several hundred feet and just below the attacks were to catch him. With his timing perfect he unleashed it as an explosive wave, and disarmed the flurry of attacks in one fell swoop.

Cooler though, again got the drop on his Namekian rival as he cut straight through the thin shell of energy like a heat seeking missile, his foot embedding itself deeply into the green warrior's stomach with enough force to temporarily break his Kaioken aura as the pair plummeted towards the planet surface once more. This time making it all the way to the planet's surface.

Immediately the ground crumbled under the force as massive chunks of rock broke in all directions from the main crater.

In the middle of the crater Cooler reached beneath him and pulled Piccolo from the ground by his head, purple blood trickling down the Namekians face, his eyes closed and his body limp, apparently broken by the devastating last attack.

"Such a fragile species." Cooler mused out loud as he prepared a blast in his free hand intending to vaporize his last real threat to ruling the universe.

Piccolo's eyes opened in a flash his hands rushing up to his face catching the Future inheritor of the Planet Trade Organization off guard as he shouted "Solar Flare!"

Cooler's accumulated Ki dissipated immediately, as did his hold on Piccolo's head as his hands rushed to his now blinded eyes.

Piccolo immediately took advantage of his own distraction to gain some distance from Cooler and began a series of backflips, he was already forming a plan to pay the Frost Demon back for all the damage he had inflicted.

As soon as he finished his third flip, his arm stretched out and grabbed Cooler by the throat before immediately retracting. Cooler's arms swung wildly expecting to hit his opponent who had to be within arm's length of him, only to find nothing but air. As soon as Cooler was in striking range Piccolo flared his Kaioken up to times 2.2 for just the briefest of instances and slammed his knee straight into Cooler's sternum.

Immediately the Frost Demon's rib cage protested under the sudden pressure as all the air was forced from his lungs. His body quickly tried to adapt to not needing oxygen, but it was too rapid of a change, leaving him further stunned for the moment.

Piccolo unleashed everything he had into Cooler, in what was his best opportunity to get a win, a powerful blow to the face, was followed up with a spinning round kick to his other cheek, was followed up by a side-kick back to Cooler's already bruised abdomen. Finally Piccolo planted his foot firmly on the ground after his latest sidekick and brought his elbow up with all the force he could muster.

The battlefield echoed with a loud cracking sound as the mouth guard that had somehow formed during Cooler's transformation shattered under the incredible force of Piccolo's strike.

Finally Piccolo reared back and delivered all of his remaining strength into one last, strike a doubled handed ax handle right to Cooler's exposed face, or so he thought, as he was suddenly kicked backwards with tremendous force.

His eyes just caught a glimpse of the blinded and stunned Cooler balancing on his tail, his legs still retracting from their push kick like motion.

Piccolo immediately powered up his Kaioken and rushed back into the battle, knowing he had to finish it soon, his muscles were already burning from the massive influx of Kaioken released Ki.

Nappa's body was shaking with anger at himself, he had lost control of his anger, but not in the way he had been hoping. It had blinded him and he had allowed Cooler the chance he needed to transform because of it. To make matters worse, Nappa still hadn't achieved his own transformation, if he had he would at least be some help...he'd be outmatched still but it wouldn't be by a hundred times over like it was now. More than all of that though every fiber in his body wanted to avenge Vegeta, in case the blast was lethal, it was his duty as the head of the Saiyan Army not only to protect the Prince but also if necessary slaughter whatever caused his demise. Instead of fulfilling either role he was left here to watch his own mistake possibly destroy the world.

Cooler blocked a slightly slow punch with his forearm and attempted to take Piccolo's legs out from under him with a slash of his tail. His fifth appendage never found its target though as Piccolo back flipped away, delivering a heel kick right to Cooler's exposed chin and knocking the Frost Demon away as he spun.

"You know, I think I've started to figure out how your power keeps fluctuating so wildly, whatever technique you're using to keep up with me has you just about worn out. Your attacks are slowing down and are starting to lose their stopping power. We both know it is just a matter of time." Cooler said his voice as close to taunting as he had managed the entire fight, a knowing smirk on his face.

Piccolo grimaced slightly that Cooler was able to figure it out so quickly, but he couldn't deny that the longer the battle dragged on the quicker he was tiring. Even in all his sparring with Goku he had never been forced to go all out, a fractional Kaioken was all that was ever necessary. He was now realizing he had been too lax on himself.

Taking Piccolo's lack of a response as him hitting the nail on the head Cooler decided to press his advantage before Piccolo had a chance to regain any of his rapidly draining strength.

For a minute Cooler appeared to phase out of sight for Piccolo who had dropped his Kaioken trying to keep his muscles from burning out. By the time his aura was re-established it was too late, Cooler was already driving his knee deeply into his stomach, and sending the Namekian warrior airborne.

Piccolo stopped his upwards momentum and threw his arms wide charging up two large balls of energy, before bringing them back in front of his body and unleashed two rapid fire series of blasts right at Cooler.

The Frost Demon for his part simply charged up his own aura and cut through the blasts like bullets bouncing off a full-speed train.

Piccolo's head suddenly whipped upwards as Cooler drove his fist into his chin. Before Piccolo's body could move more than a few feet, Cooler twisted and delivered a roundhouse kick right to his side, causing Piccolo's body to contort painfully before rocketing across the sky.

This time Piccolo couldn't hope to stop himself, he had pushed himself too hard during the fight already, to make matters worse the last few attacks Cooler had landed had all had devastating effects, accumulating damage much faster than his limited regenerative abilities could compensate for. In short he was on his last legs, if Goku or Vegeta didn't return soon he was done for.

Chi Chi's body was shaking, she wanted to do something anything just to buy a few seconds like she would've done in on Namek, or any of the other fights she had been forced into lately, but she couldn't make herself move. She couldn't risk the life of her child, not after what happened to Gohan.

Lime too was rooted in place under a crushing feeling of failure, 'No it...it wasn't supposed to happen like this.' Her mind raced over everything she remembered about the fight against Cooler.

Suddenly a yell echoed throughout the battlefield as Trunks summoned up his reserves and launched himself into the air.

His body was acting purely on instinct, his only desire was to stop the monsters that threatened this world from enacting the horrors they inevitably would.

Cooler's eyes slanted slightly as he noticed the pest coming at him, it was obvious by the fact he survived that he at least as powerful as his armored squadron had been. 'I suppose it is a good thing I came to wipe this world out. It would be a pain if they were able to spread throughout the galaxy. They would have at the very least hampered his business.' He casually thought to himself as he casually fired off a lone death beam at the child.

Everything seemed to stand still on the battlefield for a second, none of the fighters on the ground had enough strength to even see the attack coming, and Piccolo was still hurtling away, making saving the child an impossible task.

Trunks saw the attack coming, his life started to flash before his eyes, and in that instant something snapped within him at the very instant he saw his mother die. His fist slashed out faster than it should've been able to, a swatted the attack away as if it was nothing. A Golden aura enveloping him, his lavender hair rising towards the sky, his pupils vanishing.

By the time Cooler noticed the explosion in the child's power he was already upon him. He was able to plant his child sized foot firmly on Cooler's cheek knocking the shocked Frost Demon back.

Nappa's body was shaking, "Impossible...did...that kid just go Super Saiyan?" He asked to no one in particular. "A child has surpassed me…But is he even a Saiyan?" His mind was going in too many directions at once to process the implications of what he was seeing.

Across the battlefield Chi Chi and Lime each noticed the transformation as well, and were hit with equal parts shock and awe.

"He...He did it! He's a Super Saiyan" Lime shouted unable to believe her eyes.

"Wait he's a Saiyan?" Chi Chi asked suddenly even more shocked than she was a before Lime's announcement. It would take her a while to wrap her mind around it all, if they managed to survive that is.

Lime was suddenly very much aware that she had spilled yet another secret, she held off on chastising herself for the moment though. She was more concerned with Trunk's impending fight.

Cooler's hand instinctively went to his mouth, and was shocked to find blood there. 'Where…' He started to think before finishing his thought out loud. "Where did you get that power?' His eyes wide. The child wasn't a real threat to him, but at his current output it was obvious he would be able to take on some of the higher ranked nobles of his planet fairly easily. His power was well into the millions.

Cooler shook off his surprise just as Trunks rushed him again, his attacks painfully slow to someone on the level of Cooler, but impressive none the less.

"I'll end this quickly" Cooler announced as he caught Trunk's opening punch, before delivering a bone crushing knee to the child's face. Immediately the golden aura faded as the child fell unconscious, his limp body falling towards the ground.

"Now to end-... Gah!" Cooler was interrupted just as about to fire the finishing blow into Trunks by a voice shouting "Special Beam Cannon!" He instinctively dodged, but the deadly attack found part of its target anyway, burning its way through the very edge of the Frost Demon, just above his hip.

The pain Cooler felt in that instant was worse than any he had experience in his nearly century long life. Immediately his normally rational mind vanished in a fit of rage. His vision turned into a tunnel centered entirely on Piccolo as he launched himself forward prepared to rip the Namekian limb from limb.

Piccolo's arms hung limply by his sides, his trump card had failed. He had wasted most of his remaining strength for nothing.

When Cooler had covered about half the distance to Piccolo, the Namekian did the last thing the Frost Demon could've expected, he smirked, as a voice shouted "Tri-Beam!"

That same instant an enormous pressure crashed on top of Cooler driving him towards the ground.

Tien had arrived.

Cooler's body was surrounded by rubble an instant after hitting the ground. But instead of bursting out of it in a fit of rage he simply sat there for a moment, attempting to collect himself. It wasn't going well. For whatever reason he seemed utterly incapable of killing them, no matter what he tried. It was a frustration only comparable to his competition with Frieza.

A thought came to him. 'I should just destroy this planet and be done with it.' He immediately rejected it. This was the world his father and brother met their ends, the world in which he would finally be able to achieve his destiny. If anything it would be remembered as a galactic treasure to be held onto for thousands of years in remembrance of his occasion. Finally he let out a sigh, it would be alright, he would just have to keep exterminating the pests until they stopped coming.

Slowly he rose from the rubble, telekinetically lifting several large chunks of Earth along with him. "Enough! I've had enough of this you are all going to die very painful deaths for your actions today." Cooler announced attempting to sound calm. Not a single of the fighters gathered had enough strength to fight him, even the one to land the latest blow was nothing but a gnat that would be swept away by his power. As long as there were no more interruptions the slaughter should end in under a minute.

Just as he thought that though a strange sound was heard from behind him, accompanied by the appearance of a massive energy. Cooler turned around only to face one of the warriors he had killed when he first arrived. "I-im-impossible…" He managed to get out before Goku's fist slammed into his face at full strength sending him immediately back into the rubble pile he had just left.

"That was for getting that dirty hit in earlier!" Goku called his voice had a stern, determined tone to it that brought hope to weary fighters gathered.

Cooler roared back into the air, and wiped the blood from his face. "How did you survive?" He managed to say though his voice was shaking with anger.

"A friend of mine healed me." Goku said. "Vegeta will be back in a minute too, this is your one chance, leave this planet and never come back." Goku offered his eyes burning with determination.

Cooler's hands tightened into fists before lunging forward, deciding he would let his fist answer the simian's offer. He would not return home in shame, he would achieve his destiny.

The Earth shook from the collision of fist and forearm as the two fighters phased out. Exchanging a wide variety of attacks. Goku choosing to open his round with the galactic Emperor to be with a knife-hand aimed at his skull.

Cooler was barely able to parry the attack in time and attempted to respond with a kick, only for his leg to be captured between Goku's hip and right arm.

Goku flashed a mischievous smile for a second before beginning to spin around in the air at speeds that would put the strongest tornados to shame.

Cooler hit the ground hard, and skidded across the surface for dozens of meters before being able to control himself enough to stop. As soon as he did though Goku appeared above him and delivered a devastating ax-kick to the top of Cooler's head embedding the Frost Demon back into the Earth's surface.

Cooler lashed out with his tail only for Goku to catch the limb like it was nothing. "Darn, this is kinda disappointing. You're too tired to put up a real fight now, just give up and promise to never come back already." Goku said his voice sounding exasperated. No matter how hard he tried lately no one ever took his offers for peace.

Cooler's mind was blinded in rage in that instant, had his power really waned so much in the fight with the Namekian?

"Never! I can't go back without ending this!" Cooler shouted as he charged up a blast in his hand, spun around and detonated it straight into Goku's face.

The Saiyan's grip never even wavered on his tail.

"Then I'm sorry this is it." Goku's hardened his voice as he prepared to finish Cooler off.

Cooler too prepared to use his final trump card a small blast to the Earth's core is all it would take to take this whole miserable planet with him. He couldn't help but think that his family's lineage, the greatest dynasty in the universe's history would be ending with his brother's bastard son. The imp wouldn't last a week before internal politics left his head on a spike and the planet in a state of renewed civil war, the likes of which it hadn't seen in centuries.

Just as they were both about to unleash their attacks though an unexpected voice shouted. "Please wait!"

Goku and Cooler, the later of whom had one eye completely swollen shut, both paused momentarily and turned to face Lime who was running towards them at full speed.

"Please this fight didn't happen like this in the future, we've got to be able to come to some sort of understanding." She hurriedly explained.

"The future? What are you talking about?" Cooler asked his confusion momentarily breaking his concentration and allowing some of the energy he had been gathering to dissipate, the intensity of Goku's attack lessened as well.

"I'm from the future. After losing your fight against Goku, after narrowly defeating Piccolo and Vegeta, he decides to spare you that way he can show his son anyone can be redeemed." Lime explained to Cooler who still had no idea what the girl was talking about, but took the moment's distraction to try and think of a plan to survive this whole ordeal after all.

"I think Bulma mentioned that you were hoping he might have some clues on where Gohan was too. Turns out he didn't but you ended up letting him stay on Earth so he couldn't return to causing terror across the galaxy under Piccolo's watchful eyes. Please he is one of the few warriors in the universe that can actually harm the androids! He even managed to destroy one of them!" Lime pleaded tears in her eyes. "Just think of how much help he could be if he was able to train with us, we might be able to turn the tide even." She continued, before slumping her shoulders in what she expected to be defeat.

Goku turned back to Cooler his determination faltering in that instant. "Ok you heard what she had to say. This is your last chance you can train with us, and help us defeat the Androids when they show up, or not, I'm tired giving your family chances, especially since you never take them." Goku said surprising Chi Chi and the others who were just arriving. Goku reaching his limit seemed unimaginable to them.

Cooler was silent for a moment, unable to believe his good fortune. He'd play along for a few weeks. They'd maybe even teach him some of their rather impressive techniques and maybe he'd even be able to learn how two species as weak as the Saiyans and the Namekians were able to challenge his family. Then when the time was right he'd escape with his ship and destroy the planet from space.

"Are you sure it's a good idea to spare him Goku?" Tien spoke up suddenly. "You know he'll probably betray us." He added giving Cooler a look of distrust.

"Yeah I don't think him being around will make things very safe." Chi Chi said, realizing she still hadn't told Goku about their coming child.

"Kakarot, his brother killed our whole race! Finish him while you have the chance. Besides he is an honorless piece of shit who nearly killed you and Vegeta." Nappa ordered, speaking for the first time since Trunks apparent transformation.

"I don't want to be babysitting him for the next three years either. I have too much training to do" Piccolo added a look of irritation on his face at not even being asked.

"Come on guys how is it any different than what happened with Vegeta, Nappa, or even you Piccolo?"

Cooler rose from the ground slowly, and calmed himself as best he could. This was nothing more than a business negotiation now, something he was quite good at, especially when the other party needed something from him. "You know what...I'll accept your offer." His voice was polite bordering on diplomatic. "But I want to add a few conditions to things. I will help you fight these...Androids, when they arrive and in return I want you to teach me how to use that, Kaioken, I think you called it. Then after the mechanical trash is disposed of I swear I will leave this planet in peace." He added with a smile barely containing the smirk on his face as he thought 'Pieces' instead at the end of his opening offer.

Goku looked back to Cooler somewhat surprised, he couldn't remember a time in which a villain had actually accepted his offer to leave in peace. But something Lime had said stuck with him, he couldn't just let Cooler return to his former life of tyranny. "Well that seems like a pretty fair offer, but Lime is right I can't let you just leave and spread misery throughout the galaxy again. So you can train with us, and if you prove you're not going to betray us like Tien thinks you might then I'd be glad to teach you the Kaioken. We can even have a rematch when you're at full strength afterwards if you'd like." Goku added with a bright smile.

Cooler chuckled to himself, he was planning on leaving the backwater world whether they agreed to it or not, but the fool had agreed to the more important part of the offer. If he could learn that technique it would provide him an important trump card after he took control of the galaxy. With an boost like that he would have a reign that would put even his father's reign to shame. "Fine I will agree to your terms. Running the Planet Trade was always more of a business venture to me than a passion like it was for my brother." He admitted the partial truth.

"Great it's a deal.' Goku said reaching out to shake the Frost Demon's hand.

Piccolo just stood there stunned apparently what he thought of the matter did not matter to Goku.

Suddenly a loud explosion echoed a short distance away, right near where Vegeta's full Super Saiyan enhanced power had just passed. He was flying in towards the battle like a heat seeking missile.

The Saiyan Prince landed just off to the side of Goku and Cooler, their hands still lock in the act of shaking hands. You could immediately tell there was a rage burning in Vegeta's eyes at the sight.

"Kakarot, what the hell are you doing you third class clown?" Vegeta snarled. "Did you already forget the scum ambushed both of us?" Vegeta's entire body was shaking in fury.

"No but Lime was just saying-" Goku started to say before being cut off by Vegeta.

"I've destroyed your little ship Cooler. Now it is time to end your pitiful existence. We wouldn't want you to be late to your family's reunion in hell." Vegeta said as he flared his aura brighter.

"Come on Vegeta just settle down. In the future he helps fight the Androids so he can't be all bad." Goku tried to reason with the Saiyan Prince.

Cooler just sat there in shock, it seemed like this planet was destined to ruin all of his plans no matter what they were. 'Fine I'll have to do things the hard way when the time comes… Besides I'm sure it will just be a matter of a few weeks before a scout ship is sent to look for me.' He thought to himself, his body still tense, ready to blow up the planet at a moment's notice if necessary.

Somewhere in the distance the two fully healed Saiyans continued their heated argument back and forth until finally it reached its conclusion.

Vegeta looked to Cooler. "Keeping you alive now is just for my future entertainment. You won't even be necessary against the Androids I assure you. I'll be back to kill you another day, coward" With that Vegeta took to the air. Nappa instinctively following him absolutely silently.

"Well that went better than expected." Tien muttered quietly before saying his goodbyes and returning to his mountain home to continue his training.

"Alright Piccolo, Cooler time to go get healed up." Goku said with a bright smile.

"Before we go can I talk to you for a minute Goku?" Piccolo said trying to keep his voice calm.

After a few minutes of discussing the pair seemed to come to some sort of agreement. "Thanks King Kai." Goku added as he was walking back over to the group.

"Alright I'll be back in a few minutes everyone." Goku said before teleporting Cooler and Piccolo to the lookout.

"What?" Cooler asked suddenly confused, he wasn't aware of a technique that allowed for instantaneous movement, if he had been he would've attempted to throw that into their deal.

After a few minutes both Cooler and Piccolo were healed fully.

"Now then how shall we begin our training?" Cooler asked trying to keep himself from revealing his inevitable deception.

"Well before that there is one last thing we need to do." Goku said before grabbing both Piccolo and Cooler by the arm, in an instant they were on a very foreign looking planet.

"What is this?" Cooler shouted his power rapidly rising.

"Well Piccolo still thought you might betray us so he wanted to train with you somewhere else, and well this is the best planet we could find on such short notice." Goku said as he sheepishly scratched the back of his head.

"That wasn't part of our agreement." Cooler snarled.

"It falls under the needing to earn our trust part." Piccolo snarled back.

Cooler's fist tightened enough that blood began to drip from his palms. He had underestimated the Earthlings, like his father and brother had. Though obviously not to the extent they had. 'Fine then...I'll play this game through to the end, and claim my throne afterwards.' He decided.

"How long do we have until the Androids arrive?" He asked trying to adjust his plans accordingly.

"2 years, 8 months." Piccolo said dryly.

Cooler's heart sank slightly. 'Fine I'll salvage what is left of my empire then.' He decided as Goku vanished from sight leaving the two aliens alone on the strange planet.

"Let's get started." Piccolo said before powering up to rebegin their earlier struggle.

As soon as Goku returned to Earth, Chi Chi was waiting up for him. "Hey Goku…I need to tell you something." Chi Chi said.

Goku looked somewhat surprised but could immediately tell something was wrong, so his face shifted from relieved to focused, giving his wife his undivided attention.

"Goku…I'm pregnant."

Well there it is everyone, I hope the chapter was worth the wait. Things have been very very rough for me this entire year in most aspects of my life, and the last few months kinda made the rest of it seem easy. I was trying hard to get a chapter up before or on my Birthday too, but that also fell through. Anyway I'm hoping the update schedule gets alittle more normal now that it is summer.

Jhotenko - At first I thought Cooler only nailed Goku with that cheap shot. I thought, 'Oh boy will Vegeta be pissed off, Cooler is screwed.' Then I reread it and realized that Cooler got both Saiyans. I still think Cooler's in for a whoopin, but at least he bought himself some time with that opening salvo.

I have to assume that Videl's difficulty with carrying Goku and Vegeta lies with their size, and not their weight. The real question is, will Cooler or the one of the Armor Squadron realize the danger, and break free quick enough to catch up with Videl?

I'm not certain, but barring shenanigans, isn't Piccolo strong enough to handle Cooler on his own at this point? Who am I kidding, there will be shenanigans even if I'm wrong about Piccolo's strength.

I mean Vegeta would pissed off either way lol. Yeah things didn't go quite as Cooler was planning, that seems to be becoming a trend in the story so far, from the minute he arrived on his homeworld.

Yeah Videl's only difficulty was finding some way to hold onto both full grown adults without dropping them, especially at high speed. Piccolo and Cooler were fairly evenly matched, but because Kaioken's time limit, which is extra severe on Piccolo right now, he didn't quite have the stamina to keep up. Which is funny since it is the Frost Demons who are known for lacking stamina.

Enemy of The Flash - if you get that far and i hope you do, will you get Nappa to become a Super saiyan?, i mean he's like over 60 years old but old badasses are better than younger ones

Thanks for the review. Nappa has some hurtles to overcome to become a Super Saiyan. He is kinda stuck in the same place Vegeta was in canon. He cares for Vegeta like a son even, but even that wasn't enough to trigger his transformation, there are a couple of elements he hasn't quite fufilled yet. The Z fighters are going to need all hands on deck soon so he'll need to get things figured out.

Simgr101 - An update, fantastic. Well Goku and Vegeta's fight went rather well, well written. Cooler has also shown up so I wonder how you will write that. As for that video it got deleted unfortunately so you probably can't watch it anymore unless someone ends up putting it up at some point. Pretty much as I said before it was just more a Vegeta fan service type of video creating a situation of where Vegeta killed Frieza and then fought the z fighters after that on Earth eventually having his fight with Goku. At the end Cooler showed up. Cooler in just his final form matches super Saiyan Vegeta with the slight edge going to Vege. Cooler reveals his form and dominates from that point. Goku even transforms and gets beaten easily. They both eat senzu beans and get beaten into the ground a second time. Its only when the the two combine their powers in a blast do they successfully defeat Cooler. I will say they slightly made Cooler a bit over powered but the point I'm trying to make is that Cooler's form frankly should have been a lot stronger than Goku even with super Saiyan and in the end it required both him and Vegeta to defeat him. It would have also saved time with that metal Cooler movie as that was like trying to redeem the mistakes of the first film by making Cooler stronger then failing with that big geti plot.

Glad you enjoyed last chapter, hope this one was enjoyable as well. Nice about the plot, it is a shame I won't get a chance to see it, but I will keep my eyes out for it.

The only minor gripe I had with this chapter is Cooler showing up while powered up enough to actually damage the Super Saiyans...and none of the earthlings sensed him? Well...small gripe in an otherwise excellent addition to your story.

Of course, everything else was excellent as always.

Glad you enjoyed it, I just always feel bad when i go a long time without updating, whether i can actually control it or not.

My thought process with that was, Cooler didn't have to be at full power to produce an attack capable of doing some serious damage provided Goku and Vegeta's focus were on each other. in that case the humans and Piccolo would have the same difficulties astronomers have seeing planets so close to a star. anyway i hope this chapter was worth the wait :)

Sorry for typos and all that. LGG2 5.2 touch wasnt good enough for my fingers. S7 Edge at 5.5 is alot, ALOT better as you can see. Still make typos but not so many that editing them would be too much of a pain.

Think you can update the summery every 10-15-20 chapters or something and then simply just use a small line on your page like
Culture Shock Summery CH 48,58,68 etc or maybe for 60 70 80 etc. Would prevent readers that read many stories from having to archive binge.

Would also leave the author (ie you) more time to update without fear of people forgetting whats going on and having to binge, which is rarely fun.

As for chiaotzu (what a pain to spell Chaozu is easier to phonetic) seems he just switched with Launch then.

Hope Gohan finds home soon sorry but i am starting to get a bit arc fatigued from that not to mention that absolute tease on namek.

I think I can answer this one without spoiling too much. Since they didn't know about the Android threat Goku immediately went out looking for Gohan again. This pattern continued until Goku got sick and died.

I started this the day you made the most recent update. Let me say that it is by far one of the greatest DBZ fan stories, if not THE greatest, I've ever read. The variations from the main story were at first subtle, but soon diverged into its own seperate thing. I've already recommended your story to all my DBZ loving friends and I can't wait to read more

P.S.-In an early chapter, you obviously meant to write, "Master Roshi was stroking his beard". However, you wrote,"Master Roshi was stroking his bread". Suffice to say you had me dying of laughter for at least a good five minutes.

DBZ Fan - I really love this story! Great work on the Chapter. Android saga is really close, not to mention with many surprises you install with Dr Gero and Dr Wheelo and Co. alive. Is Cell going to come like he did in the canon. Are you going have Androids 17 and 18 as good guys(even though they're evil at first)and have larger main roles than their canon counterparts. Is 16 going to be alive this time because he didn't get the chance live because of Cell killing him in the canon.

Glad you are enjoying the story. Yes the Android saga is within sight unfortunately it looks like I might be messing up my multiples of 5 for starting and ending arcs :(.

Things are going to be crazy especially in the beginning of the arc, lots of fights, lots of action etc. It is going to be a doozy to write lol.

Well first off the goku vs vegeta part was nice
I am sure vegeta realised that how much he has lagged behind due to not being able to have a challenger of his own strength both in base as well as in ssj state(though much much more noticeable in ssj as he would have seen)
Also chi chi being pregnant was unforeseen kinda and now seeing as how She'll be bringing a child in this dangerous world maybe she would reconsider about bringing gohan back and all, though I still feel turles connecting the dots and heading back to earth either to search for this mystery warrior who beat frieza or knowing of cold, frieza and cooler's(inevitable) defeat and death on earth or because of earth's rich flora comes here
Also how was cooler not sensed when he must have used at least his fourth forms full power to have a remote chance of catching them off guard? Did he you know conceal his power and then suddenly burst it forth for the death beam?
Piccolo I am sure can easily make mince meat out of cooler's fifth form I am sure unless you made him more powerful, like somewhere around 200 million and piccolo maybe at 98-99 million without kaioken and without goku he will have trouble so maybe craftiness will get him his victory

Yeah Vegeta is not a happy camper at the moment. Her and Goku had come to an agreement to get past the Androids before trying to wish Gohan back. Turles is very interested but for the time being he'll be more focused on the great opportunity that just opened up for him.

He concealed his power most of the way, but left enough strength available that he could deliver the deadly blows to the unsuspecting warriors.

Piccolo and Cooler were just about even at their maximums so I think it ended up being a pretty good fight. You were quite close on where I placed his power level this time lol. I've tried just posting my response but then everyone wants to know what the question is. I'm just going to try and keep my responses shorter and if I have a long response deal with it through pm. Thanks again for the review :)

Gotenks Rules - I love this story!I read the whole story, The way you write in this story. is so great. Its like the extended version of DBZ,and with so much detail and the Character's perspective and background is so great! Who would of thought the entire DBZ universe could change because one person's survival.(Raditz)

Can't wait for Android saga and also can you make Dr Gero live longer(before he gets killed by 17),i always wonder what would be like if Dr Gero met Cell(3rd Future timeline,not present)before he dies. Will Dr Gero and Cell(Future)team up and hunt down the Androids and finally defeat the Z-fighters or will dr gero still die(by 17 or other fighter)without cell's 't know, don't take my word for it, its more of a suggestion. See ya in next chapter.

Hopefully you will really enjoy the arc when I get to it soon. I think Gero and Cell would be best buddies for a few minutes until well their egos got the best of each other. Hope you enjoyed the chapter :)
