Chapter 73: The Turning Tides

Golden energy continued to arc around Gohan as he stared down Broly. He'd never felt such rage flowing through him before. His entire mind was focused on one thing and one thing only, making Broly suffer. He didn't mean just for the injustices he himself had commit against Gohan's loved ones, he was going to make Broly pay for every bad thing that had ever happened in Gohan's life.

Broly for his part stared back somewhat surprised and confused. Enough that he allowed Turles' limp body to slip from his hands as he turned his attention fully towards Gohan. The golden energy was so familiar, it wasn't exactly what he was used to, that didn't matter to him though. Finally, the confusion faded and a smile spread across the larger Saiyans lips, he knew exactly what he was seeing. "Come on then!" He shouted as he began to run towards Gohan, before finally planting his foot deeply into the ground and launching himself towards him instead.

Gohan stood his ground watching the larger Saiyan slowly close the gap between them. As Broly's fist hit Gohan, it continued to pass through revealing him to be nothing but an after-image.

Broly's eyes widened in surprise, it had been decades since anyone had moved faster than he could follow.

Before he had a chance to locate the Saiyan child, Gohan had appeared above him bringing his arms down in a brutal ax-handle to the back of Broly's head.

Even with all of his apparent strength Broly couldn't withstand the blow and ended up having his face bounce off the now shattered rock below him.

Broly recovered immediately from the attack, rolling to his left, one hand tentatively rubbing the back of his head where a lump was already forming. He couldn't remember the last time he felt actual pain. Not the sort of discomfort he had occasionally felt against fighters with his power suppressed from his father. This was leagues different than what he had felt fighting Turles, or even the strange blue fighter with the bizarre clothes he had met as they ravaged the southern quadrant of the galaxy. This was actual pain.

His heart was starting to pump faster now, his Saiyan blood screaming for the challenge he was now faced with. It had been so long, he hadn't faced a true challenge since his childhood. With little hesitation he lashed out wildly, his attacks always coming up just short of meeting their intended target as Gohan weaved through them without even bothering to try and block most of the attacks.

Finally, one collided, hitting Gohan right on the side of his face. Gohan staggered for an instant, but just an instant, in the end it had done little more than move his head and split the inside of his cheek. With a look of still feral anger Gohan spit a small amount of blood out before going back on the offensive.

Broly tried to keep up with Gohan's well aimed assaults. He blocked a kick aimed for his head but failed to stop the next attack as Gohan anchored his tail to Broly's wrist, allowing him to hang upside down and unleash a point-blank blast into Broly's chest without fear of him intercepting the attack.

Broly launched backwards a slight burn mark on his chest. His eyes scanning the battlefield for where the next attack would come from. His eyes could barely keep up as he noticed Gohan at the very last second, barely raising his forearm in time to block the child's next attack.

They were off again, trading block after block with ever increasing ferocity.

Gohan feinted a punch aimed at Broly's head, as Broly's arm raised to block. Gohan pulled his arm back at the last moment. Using his momentum, he turned the apparent punch into a spinning heel kick colliding with the side of Broly's ribs hard enough to force some of the air from his lungs.

Broly's arm reflexively guarded his likely bruised rib, opening up his face to take an upper cut from the smaller Saiyan warrior.

Broly staggered backwards, his head slightly foggy from the blow. Gohan refused to give him any time to clear his head though as he began to rained down attacks all across Broly's body. Each one felt like a small hammer, hammering away at him.

Finally, Broly had had enough, he unleashed a wall of green energy out in all directions, forcing Gohan back for an instant. That was his chance, Broly lashed out with a straight punch aimed at Gohan's head. Gohan saw the attack coming from a mile away though, easily twisting around it and grasping hold of the now off-balanced Saiyan's arm.

Using his Ki to anchor his position in the air, he twisted around, lifting Broly onto his back and slamming him head first into the ground with all of his might.

He didn't stop there though, as he rocketed upwards and began to rain down a barrage of small but potent energy blasts, bombarding Broly's body like a hailstorm.

Broly felt the pain arching through his body, as his inner conflict began to grow. A part of him was screaming out to transform now, to crush the child like he had so many other fighters. To watch the life drain from his eyes. It would be easy to turn the tide of the battle if he transformed. That much was clear from the fact he was still able to draw blood in this form. But this was something he had longed for so long, a true fight. Someone who could actually fight back. Instead he began to pull more and more of his power, while still refusing to go over the limit.

As dust and debris continued to build up around Broly, Gohan gradually allowed his attacks to peter out.

As the air cleared it, revealed Broly already standing again, surrounded by his green shell again. Apparently only the first few attacks had actually hit him.

Gohan simply gritted his teeth and cupped his arms, charging his next attack. After a few seconds, he unleashed it. "Saturday Crush!" A massive beam of purple energy shot downwards

Broly stood still confidently waiting for the attack to hit his it did a moment later. And then, for the first time in his life he noticed the shield beginning to buckle. Quickly Broly increased the amount of power in his shield.

Gohan kept pouring more and more power into his attack, but on the other side Broly was matching him increase for increase.

Finally they each reached their limit, the struggle continued to stretch onwards.

Frustration was written all over Gohan's face, even with all of the power he had obtained somehow he wasn't able to finish off the monster who had killed so many of the important people in his life. Gohan's muscles began to tense with anger as faces of those he had lost began to play through his mind again. His father, his mother, Shizen and the rest of his squad, Ginyu and his squad, finally Turles and Raditz, the one who had been with him for as long as he could remember. Through thick and thin they had protected each other, even if their relationship was rocky at times, Raditz had always been there for him in his own rough way. And now he was gone just like everyone else.

His rage hit it's boiling point as Gohan power surged once more, his attack nearly doubled in size as it rushed down towards the source of his rage.

It had turned into a waiting game for Broly, how long could the child keep up this attack. He was confident he could outlast him since they were both at their apparent maximums in their current forms. Just when he was getting complacent though the unthinkable happened, his shield shattered.

Broly's eyes widened in shock as he was engulfed in the surge of power, that was when it happened. Something primal took over, something within him refused to let him take real damage, pushing passed his own reservations, his own desire for a struggle. A surge of power rushed through his body a new shield forming just around his skin and spreading outwards.

Within an instant Gohan's attack was spraying out in all directions, like the flow from a garden hose breaking against a boulder, his attack that had at first appeared so promising, was shown to be utterly ineffective.

Finally, Gohan let the attack fade out, unsure about what was happening beneath him. It didn't make sense. He had been dominating the fight so far, there was no way Broly should've been able to tank such a hit.

Looking back up him, Broly unleashed a ferocious smile, his hair arching upwards with a greenish tint to it. His body surrounded by a green tinted golden aura not unlike Gohan's own.

A cold feeling rushed through him, there was something wrong with the sight, 'How'd he achieve that so quickly? Did losing the other Saiyan actually hurt him?' Gohan asked himself utterly in shock, there was no way what he could be seeing was real, unless this monster had unlocked this form long ago and had simply been playing with him up until this point.

Then it got worse, Broly let loose a feral scream, one that managed to chill Gohan to the bone. The world around him began to shift color as the energy being unleashed from Broly outshone the sun, and gradually bounced around the light spectrum.

When it had finished there wasn't a Saiyan standing before him, instead there was a monster. Muscles piled upon by muscles, his pupils completely gone. it was unlike anything Gohan had seen before.

Broly began to laugh, "That was fun, but now it's my turn."

(Back on Earth)

Without the connection to the Ki of the rest of his body Cell's head had been virtually defenseless to the Namekian's finishing blow, as he slammed Cell's head into the rocky ground below, bursting it like a watermelon, and unleashing a powerful Ki blast onto the ground, creating a new crater, several feet deep.

Behind Piccolo's back, Cell's body stumbled backwards, the last signals from his brain finally reaching his limbs, before it fell limply to the ground.

Piccolo allowed a brief smile to grace his normally stoic features even he didn't expect his fight with Cell to end as quickly as it had. Yes, going directly for the kill would've been considered somewhat bad form considering how their fights usually went. But from fighting Cell before, Piccolo knew he couldn't allow Cell the time to warm up to his new style. He had the DNA of too many genius fighters to allow for that. The fate of the Earth was more important than fighting etiquette.

"Incredible!" Krillin shouted from the ridge, "Piccolo beat him like it was nothing!"

Vegeta grit his teeth in frustration, as he realized the gap power that still existed between himself and the Namekian. Though even with all of his power it was clear, Piccolo was nothing compared to the likes of Slug or Cepa. Vegeta could still surpass him, he just needed to work harder.

Goku slumped slightly, yes Piccolo had won, meaning the Earth was safe, but he really had wanted to fight Cell, just once. It wasn't really fair in his mind that Piccolo and Vegeta each got two turns to face him while Goku and the others didn't get to try at all.

Nappa was equally frustrated, he had wanted to take out some of his frustration on the Bio-Android for his underhanded attack against Vegeta while Nappa was away training. It appeared that would never get that chance now.

Piccolo turned to give Cell's body a simple glance as he began to make his way back over to the group. Although much more powerful than the likes of Frieza, Cold, or even his android brethren, the fact he gave them so long to prepare had been Cell's downfall.

As he continued on his way a strange sound began behind him. Piccolo stopped in his tracks as the cheering above him stopped as well.

He turned just in time to see Cell's body rise back on his feet, just as a new head began to emerge.

"Impossible…" Piccolo muttered, suddenly feeling much less sure of himself.

Cell stretched his neck out both directions before speaking. "Haven't you wondered, why my name is Cell? It's not just that I took DNA from all of the greatest fighters. I've taken your regenerative abilities to a level far beyond your own ability." Cell smirked at the hint he had just given Piccolo. Although Piccolo had surprised him at first Cell was now completely confident in his abilities to defeat Piccolo.

Piccolo immediately picked up at what Cell had said and grit his teeth in frustration. If what Cell was hinting at was true and not a bluff, he'd have to make sure not even a single one of Cell's cells survived.

Without warning Piccolo's arm lashed out towards Cell, stretching as it went hoping to catch Cell off-guard once more.

Celle didn't recover with just his regenerative abilities though, he had used yet another of his partially burnt Senzu beans not only healing his body but restored his strength. With his Zenkai Cell was now much stronger than he was before. With little apparent effort he grabbed Piccolo's arm by the wrist and gave Piccolo an amused look. Piccolo's momentum had faded away, it was anyone's game again. And since Piccolo had decided to completely change his style, it gave Cell the perfect opportunity to experiment as well.

King Kai had been closely watching the battle taking place on Earth, he felt as heartbroken as any of the other observers on the ridge, when Cell suddenly put himself back together as if nothing had happened at all.

He was fully aware that if Goku and the others failed to stop Cell here the trails of destruction he had been following so far would be nothing compared to the one Cell himself would spread across the universe. 'He's already almost as powerful as Bojack.' King Kai realized.

"I might have to contact the others about this." He muttered aloud just as a familiar voice cut it.

"Contact us about what?" a deep asked telepathically as he cut in on King Kai's brooding.

"South Kai?" King Kai asked surprised.

"Wait did you already find the same threat I did?" South Kai asked frantically.

"You picked up on Cell all the way from your quadrant?" King Kai asked surprised at South Kai's apparent perceptiveness.

"Cell? No, I don't think so. I finally found the one that that caused all of the destruction in my quadrant and making a mess of yours." South Kai replied.

King Kai's eyes widened in surprise. "Show me." He'd have to hope Goku and the others could hold out for a few more minutes. He couldn't let this chance to solve the mystery that had been plaguing him for so long slip away.

Cell's smirk widened as his grip tightened significantly, that same instant Cell's aura surrounded him. Within a microsecond Piccolo's arm felt like the bones were going to be crushed even with his Kaioken.

With his display of power complete, Cell released his grip and said "Now then, Piccolo, let's begin again." Even as Piccolo launched himself towards Cell, hoping to retract his arm as quickly as possible and hopefully keep Cell from powering up any further.

Closing the distance between them immediately proved a mistake though. As soon as Piccolo reached Cell; the latter's knee had already launched upwards cutting any attack Piccolo hoped to inflict short and forcing Piccolo onto the defensive.

Piccolo crossed both of his arms allowing them to take the brunt of Cell's knee. As soon as the energy from the attack was absorbed, he was forced to raise his left forearm to block a sideways chop from Cell, both fighters turning their hands into blades just before the attack hit.

Cell grinned, while Piccolo just gritted his teeth. As their arms struggled for supremacy; Piccolo caught a bit of movement out of the corner of his eye. Quickly he launched himself backwards, backflipping away just as Cell's now extended tail cut through the air where his head had been just a moment before.

As soon as he stopped his retreat, Piccolo quickly formed a blast in his hand and unleashed it where Cell was still standing.

Before the attack had a chance to reach him through Cell faded out. The attack hit the ground, detonating with incredible force.

Piccolo didn't have any time to react as Cell appeared in front of him, this time his knee connecting with his diaphragm. In that same instant Cell unleashed an ax-handle directly to the back of Piccolo's head. The attack completely shattered the ground they were standing on as Piccolo's head cut into the ground.

Cell wasted no time, grabbing Piccolo by the back of his collar intending to pick him up and continue his assault.

Piccolo was having none of it. Even through the momentary cobwebs, he was aware enough to brace his feet on the ground and launch his head directly into Cell's chin.

Cell stumbled backwards, briefly stunned as Piccolo landed back on the ground and immediately dropped, swing his foot out attempting to knock Cell off his feet.

Cell's tail extended again though, just as Piccolo's legs swept out his feet, allowing the android to stay standing.

Without hesitation Cell used his position to his advantage as he swung his foot downwards with a heel kick aimed directly at Piccolo's lower abdomen.

Piccolo rolled quickly out of the way, allowing Cell's foot to deeply bury itself in the broken ground beneath him. He couldn't avoid Cell's next attack though as his other leg lashed out catching Piccolo in the stomach midroll and launching him into the air.

Before Piccolo could make it more than a few feet, Cell's tail was in the attack again, this time wrapping tightly around Piccolo's throat. Out of reflex, Piccolo's hands rushed to his throat trying to loosen Cell's grip.

Cell swung a haymaker out intending to turn the tide completely in his favor.

Piccolo struck first though, hitting Cell in the shoulder with a quickly charged eye-beam, scorching his skin just enough to cause Cell to flinch and halting his attack for the moment.

That moment was all Piccolo needed, as he ignited his Ki-blade once more, slicing right through Cell's tail.

Cell grunted in surprise as his tail fell away from him, his internal repair mechanism taking over and beginning to restore his tail immediately.

Piccolo wasn't done yet though, as he wasted no time firing off two blasts. One attack into Cell's stomach, the other to vaporize the severed tail. As soon as Cell began to launch backwards, Piccolo launched upwards preparing to do some real damage.

After gaining several hundred feet, he put both hands over his head and began to charge his attack.

Cell looked up surprised by how much power Piccolo had gathered in such a short time.

Before he could move Piccolo launched his attack "Masanko-HA!". A massive column of energy cut through the sky.

Cell watched the attack come, and just before it made contact he allowed a small smirk to show as he activated overdrive.

Piccolo saw the attack hit and continued to pour power into his attack. HIs entire body was beginning to burn slightly from sustaining Kaioken for as long as he had. Compared to before his training though, this was nothing. He would have at least a few more minutes before he was really in trouble.

To his shock though, his attack continued on, passed where Cell should've been standing. At first Piccolo thought the attack had missed despite clearing seeing the attack hit, but then he realized what had really happened.

There was a bulge in his beam of energy rapidly approaching him. Piccolo couldn't believe it, Cell was swimming up his attack as if it wasn't even there.

Cell upper torso emerged from the blast right in front of him, his arm already cocked back with another haymaker.

Piccolo couldn't drop his attack fast enough to block the blow, which hit him right on the nose, launching him backwards.

Piccolo stopped himself in the air, his head still spinning as Cell appeared before him again driving his knee deeply into Piccolo's stomach. Before finally launching the Namekian warrior back down to Earth with an elbow-strike to the back.

Piccolo hit the side of a mountain, becoming partially embedded in the rocky surface. As he struggled to regain his composure, his red aura beginning to falter. Cell struck again, coming down like a heat-seeking missile, his foot driving deeply into Piccolo's chest shattering ribs with the attack.

His entire body was rocked with shock for a moment, before consciousness left him, his red aura completely fading out.

Cell backed off slightly, watching to see if any of the other fighters would intervene again now that their strongest fighter was down for the count. While up above Cell began to charge an attack to finish Piccolo once and for all.

In the shadow of a nearby mountain another figured watched the fight unfold a look of pure frustration on his face. The Z Fighters were supposed to weaken Cell, enough to make his plan possible. So far though, allowing them to fight first seemed to be having the opposite effect. Cell was coming out of every engagement even stronger than before.

As Piccolo lay prone on the ground, he decided he had to act. Now was his one and only chance to have his revenge. Without any hesitation, a shield of energy wrapped around him allowing him to silently cut down into the ground.

Everyone watched on in horror, Goku was having a hard time not intervening again. He could see Cell watching for it this time, clearly eager to begin his fight with Goku.

"Goku…" Chi Chi managed to say looking at her husband concerned that he was about to run right into an ambush.

Goku couldn't believe how much more powerful Cell was now. He wasn't even sure he could stop one of his attacks at this point. He shook off his doubt, he would have to act, any second now he couldn't let anything hold him back.

Behind Goku, Cooler's had been watching Piccolo's fight, unlike Vegeta's fight, which he had followed in his mind only. An irritated scowl having formed as the battle began to go against his sparring partner.

Just as Goku's fingers reached for his forehead he saw movement.

Cell's eyes were still on the ridge, he saw Goku reaching for his forehead, he was going to try and intervene again. Cell couldn't help but smile at how predictable the Earthborn Saiyan was being.

Just as he anticipated Goku's departure a sharp pain cut through his body. As the shock rushed through his nervous system, Cell managed to force his eyes to look down at his stomach.

There deeply embedded in his chest was Piccolo's hand, having extended out again, this time impaling him like a spear.

A spray of purple blood was just beginning to make its way towards his mouth when his body suddenly lurched forward.

Piccolo's hand was wrapped around Cell's spine with as tight of a grip as he could muster. Using all of his strength he jerked backwards, beginning to retract his arm at the same time.

Cell's still shocked body was now rocketing towards Piccolo.

Cell tried to use the added momentum to his advantage, swinging out with his arm, but before he could do anything, Piccolo created an electric shock directly into Cell's spine. His entire body went rigid as every muscle spasmed for the instant Piccolo needed to get Cell into striking position.

Before Cell could regain control over his body, Piccolo had another Ki-blade formed again.

Keeping Cell perfectly still Piccolo went to work hacking Cell apart. 2, 4, 8, 12, 20 pieces. Cut after cut rained down, breaking the bio-android into smaller and smaller pieces.

Then as the pieces started to drop back to the ground, he pulled the hand that had been holding Cell's spine back and unleashed a powerful energy wave out, vaporizing Cell's entire upper body in an instant. Turning his arm to follow the pieces of Cell falling to the ground, he made quick work of most of him.

Piccolo's entire body was on fire, he could only sustain this attack a few seconds more, each breath brought more and more pain, but it would be over in a minute, then he could focus on repairing his damaged ribcage.

Beneath the ground the mysterious figure had been keeping track of all the energies above him, moving as quickly and as stealthily as possible. He'd only get one chance at this.

As he was getting close though, he felt several new powers spring forth, seemingly all around him.

He gritted his teeth, he didn't have time to deal with this.

There were only 2 pieces left now. The remains of one of Cell's legs. The blast washed over them, the lower half of it disappearing in and instant. Cell's thigh began to dissolve as well, when suddenly it stopped.

Piccolo's eyes widened in shock as Cell's thigh lurched outwards in all directions, beginning to repair itself even as Piccolo poured every ounce of strength he had left into his attack.

There was no choice, he had to pump more power, he had to destroy it this instant. 'Kaioken...time...6!' He shouted in his mind, to avoid dealing with another blast of pain from his ribcage. The yellow blast surged forward again appearing to overtake whatever repair mechanism was working against him for a moment.

Before Piccolo could make much progress through there was another burst of explosive growth out of Cell, then another, and another. In an instant his entire lower body had taken shape again, all the way up to his diaphragm.

As Piccolo continued to weaken, Cell's growth rate steadied out he would be complete in a matter of seconds.

Those watching on the ridge had a wild ride of emotions the last few seconds, surprise at Piccolo's move, then actual joy, he was going to win, then confusion, and finally dread as they felt Cell's power emerge once more even stronger than before.

Goku saw Cell slowly regenerating against the tide of Piccolo's attack, and decided it was time to act.

Just as Piccolo was about out of strength, a second wave was added to his attack as Goku suddenly appeared next to him and immediately fired a Kamehameha blast into the regenerating Cell, hoping to stem his regenerative tide.

He had waited too long though; Cell's power was already beyond the combined strengths of Piccolo and himself.

On the ridge the other fighters were rushing towards them; desperate to add their power to the struggle while they had Cell cornered, they weren't going to arrive in time though.

Cell's face began to emerge, his lips already curled back in a victorious smile. It had been a close call, closer than he would've liked. After he had been cut in half, he couldn't even make use of his backup plan. He was surprised it hadn't activated on its own. After he finished off the defenders of Earth there would be a few extra bodies added to the wasteland for their incompetence. They had taken every single one of his Senzu beans to jumpstart his repair fast enough to outrun Piccolo's attack.

None of that mattered for the moment though. Here he was about to overwhelm not just the strongest fighter among the Z Fighters, but Goku as well.

He could see it all unfolding now, the others were rushing to join the fight. As soon as he finished healing he would break free of the attack surrounding him. And begin fighting the entire group at once. He'd either wear them down to the point where not even a combined beam struggle would overwhelm him, or he would activate his trump card. As long as he was fully intact he was sure it wouldn't fail him this time.

His power had grown so much in this fight, it was almost a shame that Dr. Gero's bot hadn't waited until after the fight to collect his DNA. It would've made things much more interesting in the future.

He was almost there now the last pieces were coming into place, just as he was about to break free of Goku and Piccolo's combined attack, he noticed something none of the others had, the ground was shaking and it wasn't their struggle causing it.

To everyone's surprise the ground just to the left of the beam struggle burst open, a small blue body launched upwards, stopped in the air and wiped blood from its lips.

"What the!" Nappa shouted, as he and the other fighters came to a halt.

The miniature Cell barely even noticed them though as it rushed back down towards the hole ready to re-engage whatever had sent it flying.

Before it could reach the hole though a second one formed right behind Cell just as he broke free of the combined attack.

A massive blue body wrapped Cell up in an instant before the later had a chance to even enjoy his freedom from the attack.

"13!" Cell shouted in complete shock. There was no way this was happening. He had killed 13, shattered his parts across the destroyed city. He had seen the light fade from his eyes.

13's grin was ear to ear as he wrapped Cell tightly, while staring into the face of Goku, well within the expected blast range. "For Dr. Gero!" 13 shouted with his thick southern accent. He'd take care of it all right now. He'd obliterate Cell and avenge the fallen Doctor, but more importantly Goku would meet his end with that very same attack. Everything couldn't have lined up more perfectly even if all of this was 13 writing his own story.

Cell was desperate, he wasn't sure how but 13 had grown immensely more powerful than he was before. Not enough to beat him in an outright fight, but enough to hold him in place for whatever plan he was going in in-act.

13 felt the bombs detonate deeply within him. At that same instant he unleashed all of the 19's stolen power, that he had forcibly digested the day before, and went overdrive with 16's generator to make sure his own full power was added to the attack as well. He'd make sure none of them survived this.

"13! Don't-" Cell started to shout before being overcome by the massive roar of the blast wave. In an instant it had absorbed Cell and spread outwards in all directions.

Goku's hands felt like it was moving in slow motion as he desperately reached out for his forehead and Piccolo's arm. He wasn't going to make it.

Piccolo's voice cut into his mind just as the blast wave was about to reach them "GO!" And then the blast overtook their position.

Further away the fighters who had been rushing to join the fray were now frantically rushing away from it as the blast wave continued to spread. It was more powerful than any attack they had ever seen. If it caught them there wasn't a chance in the world any of them could survive.

Nappa scooped up who he could out of the weaker fighters, and launched backwards, an instant later, their entire world went white.

Reviews:

Dragonmaster1296 - Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the review! I was hoping those deaths would catch everyone off-guard :) It's entirely possible you could see either Turles or Raditz again later on. Yup! I've been looking forward to Gohan's transformation for ages! I hope you enjoyed this chapter as well.

RKF22 - Yes he is! Thanks for the review! I hope you enjoyed this chapter as well!

Guest - I've been waiting for this moment for a long time! I hope you enjoyed it. Nope you are right, Gohan is by no means out of the woods yet! Thanks for the review :)

tarrangar - That's good :) Yeah it would've been, and it would've messed my future plans up a bit, but I did seriously consider ways I could make it happen. So you sort of helped me solve a problem I was having (hence the considering Ginyu taking Broly's body) I was originally going to have to debuff base Broly, but based on your review it gave my the great idea of actually having the tree of might fruit boost Super Saiyan as well. I mean that makes sense to me, it would increase the well of energy inside them as well, since it is a magical fruit and all. So huge thanks for that :)

I'm really glad it hasn't, I hope I continue to meet your expectations in the future :) I do love my twists ;)

super mystic gohan - That's awesome to hear! I was hoping that everyone to could sort of feel the struggle going on in Gohan. Having his life mission seemingly destroyed right before his eyes. All of the horrible things he had done and all that. Yeah I felt like that was something Raditz needed to see since he made his sacrifice and all. It's entirely possible either of them could appear again, this is dragon ball z after all ;). I hope you enjoyed the rest of Piccolo's fight as well!

Waxico - Thanks for the review! If Gohan can pull out the win he'd likely try and form a group dedicated to enforcing peace and justice throughout the galaxy, he'd be in charge of course and it would be his version of peace and justice. He thinks Earth is nothing but a barren waste at the moment so he wouldn't return there. I hope you enjoyed this chapter!

jj4life015 - Yeah it would've been interesting. Ginyu would've been the most powerful in the galaxy for once. Just wasn't destined to be. I hope you've enjoyed Gohan and Broly's battle so far! Thanks again for the review!

DarkFalconZ - Yeah it was a major drawback saw with that technique. You'd have to make sure you allies knew about it so they didn't go around killing people without checking first.

I'm glad you thought so! I do enjoy adding twists to the story, so I always hope they aren't too predicable :) It's a relief that you could feel the gravity of the situation unfolding. I was afraid I might've been laying it on too thick. I'm glad you enjoyed Raditz so much! I always wished he and Nappa had gotten a chance to be redeemed in the actual show. It's always possible you'll see him again, since well you know how DBZ can be sometimes :)

Anonymous (Ch 70) - I'm glad you got to catch back up! Yes he is lol. He went from double A highschool ball straight to the Major leagues lol.

(Chapter 72) - It's something I considered, I'm glad in the end I saved you from having to get a concussion ;)

Yes it is, that was the major draw back I always saw to his body change technique. Always need to keep you allies informed about which body you're in.

At the start of the chapter he was still in his base. His base is just so over powered compared to everyone else it seemed like he transformed. Now though, yeah you're right pretty much everyone is screwed.

So that was something I was considering as well. As I'm sure you've seen by the power level list above he isn't at the usual 150 million. Another reviewer gave me the idea of having tree of might boost the transformations as well. Since it acts magically, I figured it would probably expand the inner well of power as well. It's sort of a last minute change on my part so hopefully it makes sense story wise. Originally I was going to either debuff base Broly some, or have him not take the fight totally seriously until the end. But I think this change works better. He's not much better off at the moment though since he is only about as strong as Vegeta/Goku were at the start of the android saga.

Ok so the reason that I have Vegeta stronger than Goku at the moment is the fact he received the double zenkai (dying and then almost dying upon revival). Zenkai's don't do as much as they used to pre-transformation. They peaked around the 25 million range (Cell not withstanding). But they still do add up especially major ones like dying. Also I always saw Fssj as another bottleneck point. I believe in the show Goku said he reached a point where training didn't really do much so there wasn't much point in staying in for the full year. In this story since Cell was so much stronger he went ahead and stayed in for the full 2 years, but it was at a diminishing rate of return.

I'm glad you enjoyed the piccolo parts! Yeah Overdrive definitely gives him a boost. Plus his small stash of senzu beans in his (literal) hip pocket he gets the benefit of the zenkai without wasting any of his energy.

Hopefully you enjoy what I have planned for Gohan :) and Hopefully this was a fast enough turn around time on the next chapter for you ;)

Thanks again everyone! Hopefully you all enjoyed this chapter! See you all next time!
