As they flew, Alex watched the screen; for a few minutes, all they could see were the clouds and the ice below until they reached the edge of the ice sheet; the ocean was filled with life according to the scans taken by the ship.
"The humans sure did a number on the animal life in the centuries to come," he said while shaking his head at seeing the population of the animal life that he knew most of which would wiped out in the next few thousand years.
'Coming up on the unknown ship now,' the ship let him know as he was looking over the list of spices that no longer existed in his original world.
Alex looked up from the scans to focus on the ship flying in their direction, on the viewscreen a small dot grew bigger and more distinct, and when it became clear, it was a small thing shaped like a pyramid on the top but its hull was rounded, but what stood out was that it was trailing smoke.
"Get me a full scan of that thing, "Alex called out to Kira.
"On it, surface scans are showing several heavy-impact zones on the hull, it looks like plasma burns, they have no shields, I'm reading five life signs, two of which are right on top of the other, their engines are failing, it looks like they'll crash before they reach the ice sheet," Kira read out from her post.
Alex nodded and then looked over the readout from his chair after Kira sent it to him, "Can we get a visual on the cockpit? If I remember right this is a Tel'Tak they don't have much of a hyperdrive at this point," he asked while leaning back to focus fully on the ship.
"Yeah, I can do that. Give me a second, " Kira said while tapping on a few keys. When the view changed to show the cockpit of the ship, he nearly jumped out of his seat; through the windows of the Tel'Tak, he saw Samantha Carter, Daniel Jackson, and Teal'c bloody and battle-worn.
"Dammit, they are supposed to be in Egypt what the hell are they doing here? " he asked while remembering the episode where SG1 traveled back to steal a ZPM from RA.
"Oma I need to speak quickly, " he then called out to the air before returning his focus on the ship.
"Yes?" Oma asks from his side.
Alex pointed to the ship they were now following, "From what I know they aren't supposed to be here, but here they are, I know what they came for but they were supposed to be in Egypt or Abydos to steal a Potentia from RA, and right now they are in a ship that won't get them to the ice sheet, will you or the council object to us aiding them?"
Oma looked to the screen and then tilted her head as to listen to the council after a few seconds she shook her head, "You may aid them, they retrieved the Potentia but the rebellion started due to Daniel Jackson trying to cause a distraction after they returned from Abydos the people thought them to be with RA because of Teal'c if they do not return to their time the future will fall to the Others," she told him before disappearing.
"Alright, Kira, lock onto the life signs and transport them over," Alex said while watching the members of SG1 begin to panic about something.
"Got them, " Kira said just before a flash of light deposited the members of SG1 on the bridge just before the ship's engines overloaded and consumed the ship in an explosion.
SG1, other than Jack O'Neill, who was on the floor cradling the Potentia even while he was unconscious, took up positions to fight if need be, " You guys are a long way from home," Alex called out from his chair while watching the ship burn as it fell into the ocean.
"Who are you people?" Carter asked while pointing her stolen Zatgun in Alex's direction.
"Mommy?" Karen asked while jumping from her seat and rushed to Carter who swung and fired the Zat only to gasp when she noticed that she had fired on a child only for the discharge to ripple over the girls body and then fade away.
Before she could move to check on the child she was in the grip of a powerful hand on her throat, Sam had just returned to the ship to tell Alex that the woman was being treated and would be cured in an hour or so when Carter fired on Karen.
"Fire on my daughter again and I'll crush you no matter who you are," Sam growled out as she threw her confused counterpart to the ground taking the zat as well.
Daniel and Teal'c were just about to open fire when they, too, were knocked to the floor and lost their weapon; Kira stood over them, their weapons in her hands, " Stay," she told them in a voice that sounded like she was ready to crush them.
"Mommy shot me?" Karen asked, confused until Sam scooped her up and started checking her over for injuries.
"That's not me sweetie, she's just someone that looks like me," Sam said while finding no injury.
Alex stood by them doing his scan of Karen, looking for injuries; once sure she was fine, he left Sam to comfort her to deal with SG1, "So what are a bunch of U.S soldiers and a Jaffa doing nearly five thousand years in the past and flying a broken Tel'Tak?" he asked while already knowing what was going on.
Looking down at O'Neill, he shook his head; the man had a staff weapon burn on his side, not very deep but enough to knock him out.
"We came for that," Daniel said, pointing to the Potentia in Jack's arms.
Alex nodded, then flicked a finger at Jack, causing a dome of light to cover the man; he then reached into the dome and pulled the Potentia from his grasp, "You came a long way for something that is almost depleted," he said while looking it over.
Carter was watching the woman who looked like her and the child, "You can't be here. Entropic cascade failure will soon set in, and you'll die, " she said, trying to distract herself from how the child looked so much like she did as a child herself.
"What do you mean depleted?" Daniel asked looking concerned.
Alex shrugged, "The glow is a power level indicator, I would say this one is at about three percent of its full charge," Alex said then looked to Kira and spoke in Kryptonian, "Take this to the house and go to the spaceport and put it on one of the open docks and see if it'll charge it up," he said holding out the Potentia for her to take.
She took it, passing him the zat guns, then walked off of the bridge when, out of sight, she opened a door to the house.
Alex then turned to Carter who Sam was ignoring in favor of Karen, "Entropic cascade failure only happens if two of the same people and souls are in the same universe, but my wife is of a higher existence than you so is protected from such a thing." he told her then turned to Sam who was cradling Karen.
"It's fine sweetie you are not hurt anywhere are you?" Sam asked the still shaking girl.
" No mommy I don't hurt," Karen said in a small voice while burning her face in Sam's neck.
"What are you going to do with the ZPM and us?" Daniel asked while scooting over to check on Jack.
"Right now, I'm tempted to drop you on the ice and leave you to the elements; as for the Potentia, it is being charged," Alex said while watching the man trying to reach Jack, only to be stopped by the dome, shocking his fingers.
"Why, we didn't do anything?" Daniel protested.
Alex looked at him with narrowed eyes, "One of you shot my daughter with a weapon that could have stopped her heart if she wasn't wearing her armor, " he snapped then turned to Sam, "Take her to her room and stay with her I'll finish up here then get up on our way." he told her as he walked over and behind her and kissed Karen on the forehead, "Remember that she only looks like momma but she isn't her," he told her and received a small nod before Sam turned and kissed his cheek.
"We'll be in her room, don't take to long we have other more important things to do other than babysitting trouble magnets like these four, " she said before walking away to get Karen back to the house.
Alex walked back to his chair and sat, " Now where were you going?" he asked while insuring the cloak was still up.
"The outpost under the ice sheet," Daniel answered as he stood after giving up on checking on Jack.
"We lost the time ship we used to get here so we need to gate to the planet we found it in to get home then send it back on autopilot to preserve the timeline," Carter said trying to stand up but stopped when Alex glared at her.
"Yeah that's already not possible because you people brought back sicknesses that weren't here before, now what do you think would happen to the population over five thousand years of these things mutating ?" he asked while on the inside snickering at the expressions they made, " That's one of the many reasons the Alteran councils outlawed time travel," he finished saying as he used the panel on his seat to have the ship fly back to the place it was a little while ago.
Carter and Daniel looked at him in horror as he spoke, then turned to look at each other in shame at realizing that they had most likely changed the future simply by breathing near the people of this time, "Oh my God we may have killed off our future, " Carter nearly cried sinking to the floor from the half standing position she was in.
Teal'c stood there not fully understanding what was being said, then stepped over to O'Neill when the dome faded away to reveal that he had been healed.
Jack sat up suddenly, taking a deep breath, then began patting himself down, feeling the place his flak jacket was burnt from the shot from a staff weapon, he then looked around for his team, Teal'c as always stoic while Carter and Daniel were sitting there with fear and a myriad of emotions showing on their faces.
"What's up, campers?" he asked, only to get a response from Teal'c.
"We've been rescued by a group of people, they realized that we have used a device to travel through time and spoke of spreading sickness to the people of this era, Samantha Carter and Daniel Jackson seem to have gone into shock," Teal'c told him while helping him to his feet after doing his inspection of O'Neill.
"Sickness?" he asked, then answered his question, "The Columbia exchange," he groaned out, nearly falling to the ground with that realization.
"Yeah, that's what those two are thinking about and how you guys have probably killed more people than the Goaúld, just by breathing," Alex snarked from his seat while adjusting the ship to hover over the hole instead of landing.
Jack's head snapped in his direction, "Who are you?" he asked/demanded.
"I'm Alexander and I'm the leader of the crew that saved your cowboy assess only to be repaid by Carter over there shooting my daughter with her zat," Alex answered before standing and walking to be right in front of Jack, "Be happy I'm going to help you get home, my wife would have just left you on the ice sheet below us."
Just then, Kira returned with the Potentia glowing far more brightly than before, "This thing is old. It couldn't take a charge over seventy-five percent," she announced, not seeing the tension in the room as she was looking at the Potentia.
"How can you judge us for bringing sickness to the past when you are time traveling as well?" Carter asked after realizing Alex had used phrases from their time.
"Because we observe only never contacting the natives, this ship is sterilized inside and out and our suits cover us in a thin force field to destroy any microbes or virus we breathe out or in as well as shed hair and skin, all of which we compromised by saving you and now we must return six months early and go through decontamination again," Alex snapped slightly enjoying her look of shock at the lengths he just made up on the spot to explain their time travel safety methods.
Kira just stood by, nodding along but keeping quiet so as not to say anything that may ruin his fabricated background for them.
'Captain, I am receiving a return order from the high council; they've been monitoring the timeline changes caused by SG1's foolhardy meddling in this period.' the ship announced wanting to be of help to her captain.
Alex looked to the ceiling, "Thank you, Athena, as soon as we're rid ourselves of this group set course for the galactic void," he ordered then named the ship and looked at the four, " just hope that your actions have not destroyed too much now get off of my ship he barked as he took the Potentia from Kira and shoving it into Daniel's hands, as soon as he let it go they were transported to the Stargate below the ice.
As soon as they were gone, the ship took off, leaving the planet and heading for the galactic void just as Alex told it to; Alex looked at Kira with a grin, "That was fun," he chuckled.
"And unnecessary, we kept them from spreading anything once we realized that they had traveled so far back," a new voice spoke up.
The two turned to see a semi-glowing man standing at the navigation terminal reading its screen.
"That may be so but that group will travel time in so many odd ways in the future that I felt a scare would make them consider taking precautions the next time they do it on purpose," Alex answered while trying to figure out who this ascended was.
"True, though sometimes it can not be prepared for, I am Morose by the way, " the now-named Morose said looking away from the screen to smile at them, "We just wanted you to know that we cleaned up after them and we are going to
ensure that the time jumper is returned to its proper place, " he said before disappearing in a flash of light.
Alex shrugged and then turned to Kira," Do you mind staying on the ship while I go look in on Sam and Karen?" he asked.
"Go on, that shook her up quite a bit. If she weren't needed to win the war they are fighting, Sam would have snapped her neck," she told him before returning to the navigation terminal.
"I know, and I'm guessing that that's what upset Karen more, seeing Sam so enraged," he said, opening a door to the house and going to Karen's room.
"That mommy-looking person shooted me but I didn't feel it, but then mommy grabbed her neck and hurt her, you didn't look nice Mommy your face was scary, " Karen was saying as he opened the door to enter the room.
"I know sweetie but when I saw her shoot you even if it didn't hurt it didn't matter, nobody hurts my baby, as for my face, that's the face all mothers have when someone hurts their children, I can't promise, not to make it again," Sam said as he walked to the bed and sat to hug Karen.
"If Mommy and Aunty Kira hadn't put them on the floor, I probably would have hurt them," he said, kissing her on the top of the head.
"But daddies are posed to make mean faces, Mommy is posed to always look pretty, " Karen chirped while she hugged him and then Sam.
"So that's why you laugh at me if I make a mean face?" he asked while trying to make a face getting Karen to giggle and nod.
"Daddy's mean face is funny, " she giggled.
"Alright, but Mommy needs a mean face too, or people won't know that they messed up," he told her, then chuckled, "Why don't you help Mommy work on her mean face? That way she can get it right," he suggested grinning at Sam who was looking at him with a decidedly unimpressed expression.
"Yay, that sounds fun, but what does mommy's face say right now?" she asked while looking at Sam.
"It's saying Daddy's in trouble for something that she'll talk to me about later, " Alex told her while scooting off of the bed.
"Yeah and Daddy will be lucky if he doesn't have to sleep on the couch tonight, " Sam said with an overly sweet voice as Alex looked sheepish and then kissed them both before leaving the room to return to the ship.
Behind him he could hear Sam and Karen laughing, smiling he opened the door to the ship to find that it was already in the galactic void, "Adjust the course to enter the Pegasus dwarf irregular galaxy ," he called out as he walked to the captions seat.
Kira looked up from her screen and nodded, "That'll take a hour or so if we use the hyperdrive
but about twenty minutes if we use the wormhole drive," she told him as she plotted the course and read out the options she was given.
"Wormhole drive, we're not in a rush, but I don't want to push the patients of this group of the ascended," he said while focusing on the coordinates of the planet Atlantis was supposed to be on.
"Okay, so how is she?"
"I think she'll be fine, but I may have talked myself onto the couch tonight, " he told her, only for her to laugh.
"Well, I doubt it'll be more than a night, Sam said once that she's not going to lose her heater, " she said while laughing.
Slouching in his seat he grumbled, " She'll have Karen to keep her warm."
After that, they fell into talking about their plans for the next world, " Like I said before we came here I want to get a copy of the Alteran people's DNA and I'll get that from the crew of a derelict ship but to find it we'll need to start in Atlantis," Alex told her while watching the main viewscreen and the rippling bands of light that was their corridor created by the wormhole drive.
"Yeah I know but why?" she asked.
"So I can populate Atlantis in the reality we chose to be our home in this cluster, I'm going to also build them a ship that is functional in case it is needed,"
"Right, so why not just get the sample from the woman in the medical room?"
"So I have several different sets to ensure I don't just make the same person over and over again so there won't be any issues with inbreeding, " he answered just before the corridor opened up and spat them out in orbit of a medium-sized planet with a single landmass.
"Alright let's see, I can see Atlantis, it's a few hundred feet below the surface of the ocean anchored to the bedrock somehow and I'm also seeing a smaller ship several miles away from the city," Kira said after swapping from navigation to tactical.
Alex nodded, " Alright we'll leave Athena here and use the house to get down to the city, Athena stay cloaked and use passive scans to keep watch in case someone else comes along," he said while standing.
"Yes captain, should I try to contact you through coms or a mental wave?" Athena asked.
"Coms there is a race in this galaxy that are psychic and there is one on the planet it may feel it if you try to call out to my mind, " he warned her as he opened the door to find Sam and Karen sitting on the couch watching TV.
"We've arrived in orbit above Atlantis, I'm going to create some Potentia for the city which now that I think about it I could have made several and let the spaceport charge them while we were traveling," he told them then face-palming.
The three females laughed at him, " Go make some then have them charge, we can eat before we go down to the city, " Sam pointed out while whipping away some laugh tears.
Alex nodded then turned back to the still open door, "We're going to have lunch before going down to the city, I'll leave the door open, if something shows up call out," he told Athena.
"Yes captain," she answered.
"Right, I'll go make a few Potentia to charge, then come back," he told them before going to the basement and then to the spaceport door.
Walking to one of the landing pads he found that they were morphic to adjust to connect to any ship, he created a Potentia, which was empty, setting it on the pad he watched as a portion of it wrapped around the Potentia then it started glowing softly, nodding he created five more placing them with the others to be charged.
Returning to the main floor of the house he went to the dining room to find a plate of pot roast in his usual place, " I've got six charging, " he said while sitting then began to eat.
It took a while to eat between talking and Karen trying to describe Sam's mean face only she kept laughing.
"Thanks, Misty it was great," Alex told the little elf as she began cleaning up the dining room as they left.
"You're welcome, what would you like for dinner?"
Alex looked to the girls, asking with his expression what they wanted, "Hamburger and fries," Karen chirped while the others thought; they looked at her and then shrugged.
"That'll be fine just set the fixings on the table for us to pick what we want on them," Sam said after Kira nodded.
Alex nodded then went to the spaceport and grabbed three of the Potentia, returning to the door, "Alright, we're going down to the city, if something comes up on your sensors give me a call on the coms."
"Yes captain,' Athena answered just before he closed the door then opened it in the city.
Stepping through the door he and Sam froze as they connected to the city and began scanning it and storing the information in their mental folders, when it was finished the scan had taken five minutes to complete and store.
"Damn that was something, " Alex said wobbling on his feet Kira was holding Sam up, Karen was wandering around looking at the stuff she could see.
When more and more lights began coming on Alex ran to the room he knew to be where one of the ascended was acting to be a holographic interface.
When he entered the room she was waiting, "Can you stop the city from waking up? We're just here to fix the Potentia and get a galatic map if the city comes fully active the Wraith will find it." he said while he slid to a stop.
The woman started to give her prearranged greeting but was stopped when another ascended appeared in the room, "We've anticipated this, the city will only have its lighting and navigation terminal active, please connect the Potentia the single one the city is using is slowly degrading while it will last another five to six thousand years it is possible that it could explode destroying the solar system." he said just as he formed out of the light.
Alex nodded then opening the mental map of the city he now had and looked for the Potentia sockets, "Sam get the galactic map while I go plug in the Potentia," he said over his shoulder as he walked to the stairs that led down, it took him ten minutes to find the central power core.
When he entered the room he saw that there was only one Potentia plugged in and the other two sockets were empty, quickly he moved to the empty sockets and inserted two, when he did there was a thrum from the shield generator as the city was able to bring them up to full.
He then moved to the socket that had a Potentia, pulling it he quickly plugged in the charged one he had then he left after looking over the power readouts, if he was reading it right the city would be able to remain here under the water for another ten to twenty thousand years with the repair drones now able to pull power from the system instead of the shields shrinking over time.
Leaving the room he made his way back to Sam and the others, as he walked he opened the mental folder for the city and began making changes to the way the tech would work, the first thing he changed was the gene sensors that activate for Alterans to function on Kryptonian people instead.
While Alex was replacing the Potentia, Sam was downloading the most recent galactic map, which was taken automatically three years ago, " Karen, stay close. We won't be here long," Sam called out as she listened to Karen skipping around the room, looking at the holographic displays.
"Yes, Mommy," she called out, then went back to looking at the image of a pretty planet that looked like Jupiter, only its colors were green and yellow.
Kira was looking at the ship designs and was shocked at how singular these people had built their ships; there were no real differences between their scout ships and the battleships other than weaponry.
When Alex returned they were ready to leave, "Will the city return to standby when we leave?" he asked the two ascended.
"Yes, we thank you for bringing the Potentia, we are bound by our rules to not directly interfere with the lower planes, some of us wanted to bring the city Potentia, I'm also here to inform you that Chaya Sar is waiting for you, she will not attack you but requests that you not land your ship near any village on the surface."
Alex nodded and then looked over to Sam, who was finishing up with the download; she nodded, and then he turned to Kira, who was now showing Karen a few other planets that looked pretty; she nodded as well to indicate she was ready to go.
"Alright, let's go drop off our guest and then visit a ship," he said while walking over to pick up Karen, who wasn't paying attention to them.
He then nodded to the ascended and turned to leave the room for the door back to the house; once the others were in the house, he closed the door and then reopened it to Athena.
"Sam, upload the map, then set course for Chaya's world and get us on our way," he called out while creating a holo emitter loaded with images of various planets for Karen to play with
After transferring the map over to Athena's navigation system, which took five minutes to do, she called out, "We're ready to go; the trip will take a few minutes with the wormhole drive," she told them, waiting for him to acknowledge the order to take off.
"Alright take us out," he said while showing Karen how to use the holo emitter.
"She should be ready to wake up, I'll go get her," Sam said while sending the ship into the wormhole that opened in front of them, she then went back to the house and then to the medbay to find that the bed had fully cured the woman of the virus.
Walking to the bed, she had it start the waking process; after a few minutes, the woman's eyes began to shift under her closed eyelids and when she suddenly sat up, Sam had to catch her before she fell from the bed.
For a few seconds the woman struggled to control her body while looking around, When she looked at Sam she tried to get away from her but Sam wouldn't let her go, she just kept making calming noise.
"It'll be fine. You're in a safe place," Sam said soothingly, relying on the universal translator of her Omni tool to help the woman understand her.
'Sam, we are in the orbit of the planet; Chaya is waiting for us. Can you bring the guest to the bridge? We're going to teleport down to the surface,' Alex called out through the Omni tools communication system.
"She's still working on controlling her body; being frozen for several million years takes a toll on a person; go on down and explain. I'll bring her soon," she answered the com before turning to see the woman looking at the Omni tool in curiosity.
Alex looked from his Omni tool and found Kira and Karen waiting for him to say they were going on down.
"Alright, Athena, transport us down to the surface, keep a lock on us; I don't expect trouble, but better safe than sorry, " he called out as he stood.
'Yes, captain,' Athena said while she scanned the planet's surface for a populated area to put them, ' I've found a small city with an energy reading similar to the two people who came aboard.' she announced after finding a signature resembling Oma and Morose.
Alex nodded then smiled, " Put us a few minutes walk outside the city, we don't want to startle anyone, " he told her before picking Karen up.
'Yes, captain, I have a suitable location,' Athena said at Alex's nod; she teleported Karen and Kira to the spot she chose.
Alex looked around and spotted the city not far away, Karen was looking around as well but in the opposite direction of the city, she spotted a few animals but they were a long way away and she knew her daddy wouldn't want her going off to get a closer look at them.
Kira was looking at her Omni tool, "These people don't have much technology here. Most of it is below preWorld War era in level, " she told them, then looked to Alex for directions.
"We won't be here long. This is just a stopover to bring that woman to someone who can help her as well as help her ascend if she wants to.," he said, then started walking toward the city.
As they neared the outskirts of the city they found a small group waiting for them, they came to a stop a few feet away from the group who was led by a young looking woman.
"Greetings, and welcome to our home; Athar has spoken of your coming to return a long-lost child of our people; allow me to guide you to the temple; I am high priestess Chaya." the woman introduced herself.
"Yes we found her in a deep sleep caused by sickness, after curing her we were asked to bring her here, I am Alex, and this is my daughter Karen and a companion Kira, my wife Samantha is with her now helping her and they will be joining us soon, " Alex told her then followed her when she gestured for them to the temple.
As they walked he noticed that the people of this world dressed similarly to what people in the early nineteen hundreds would, and the buildings were stone, "Your city is beautiful," he said while Kira nodded.
"Thank you our lives have grown better under the protection of Athar, the Wraith have been unable to cull our world in hundreds of years and we are slowly returning to what we were before the Wraith destroyed our cities and culled our people to only a few thousand, we now have five cities like this spread out and we are still growing," Chaya said while the others with them nodded some showing pride in their people's accomplishments.
"It is a pity that no other world is protected as this one but this is one of a few worlds that had a large population while the ancestors were fighting the Wraith, none of them are left intact and now before they can begin rebuilding what they once had the Wraith cull them down to a smaller population, " Alex was saying as they entered the temple and were led to a comfortable looking room.
When they sat, the escorts left them to speak; once alone, Chaya looked them over and gasped when she felt the power from Alex, "What are you?" she asked almost in a whisper.
Alex smiled, "That's a bit complicated but at the very basics I am a Dimensional traveler with a very powerful backer, and I am working my way through realities to learn and grow, my wife, Karen, and Kira while not as powerful as I am now will eventually reach my level of power in a few years."
"Which explains why the council didn't object to you changing things as well as bringing Cyla Urbanus here; I am only allowed to defend this planet; if the council had not stopped my attack on the Wraith, they would have been removed from the Galaxy, "she said bitterly.
"Yes, I am aware of that, they feared you claiming to be a God, but I think they should have taken action in the matter of the Wraith as they are an accident caused by their negligence in the past, but I also understand their reluctance to take action, they do not want to become like the ones they ran from almost a hundred million years ago," Alex told her while Karen hopped from his lap to explore the room.
"Yes, I am aware of who they fear becoming, but they should have at the very least stopped the Wraith," Chaya said as she fixed some sort of tea and offered it to Alex and Kira, smiling as she saw Karen looking at the murals of what the people believe Athar looks like.
"Who are you talking about that the ascended fear?" Kira asked as she had not watched much of the series.
Alex shook his head, "I'll tell you when we are in the house just speaking their name could draw their attention to this end of the universe," he told her after trying the tea finding it a pleasant bitter sweet tasting drink.
"Okay," she replied also sipping her tea, "Can we get a sample of the plant this is made from?" she asked liking the taste.
Karen ever curious came over and took Alex's cup and tried the drink making a face that said she wasn't a fan of the taste.
Alex chuckled then took his cup back, "Yeah that's probably something you'll like when you are older," he said before turning back to Chaya, who was pulling a cord presumably to ring a bell somewhere.
"I'll ask for a sapling of the plant for you, if they are moved after their first seeding the plant dies," she told them just before the door opened to reveal a young girl, "Please ask one of the herbalists for one of the Comcerentha seedlings for our guests," she told the girl who nodded then left closing the door.
"Thank you, " Kira said while sipping from her cup again.
"You're welcome," Chaya said then turned to Alex, " Are you going to change anything else?"
Alex shook his head, "No if I do there's no telling how the Wraith will react, I did offer to repopulate Atlantis but I can only make so many clones at a time and to create enough to make a difference I would need a year or more, but the council asked me to not do that because their future seers said that the Wraith will kill their rivals down to small numbers and the people from the Avalonn galaxy will end them in five or so thousand years."
Chaya looked ready to protest but held back when the council was mentioned, "I wish they wouldn't try to push the timeline in the direction those people saw; this galaxy would probably be safe now if they didn't," she said, growling and looking up to the ceiling.
"I know but those people saw a potential time and they liked what they saw so that's how they want to guide the people here, in the long run, everything will work out but they don't see the steps individually or the suffering of the people because they either don't want or can't," he told her as he set his empty cup down, "That's another reason I won't make clones, one of the council members may protest it and cause something to kill them in some natural looking fashion."
'Captain Sam is ready to join you with your guest,' Athena said through his Omni tool.
Alex looked at Chaya, who nodded, "Transport them to my location," he told her; a few seconds later, there was a flash of light, then Sam and Cyla, who looked around the room curiously.
Chaya stood up to welcome the new arrivals, "Welcome, please have a seat, " she said, gesturing to some open chairs, then poured two new cups of tea.
Sam took a seat near Alex while Cyla sat in the other chair; Sam tried the tea and smiled, then looked at Alex, "We already asked for a sapling to grow our own," he told her before she could ask.
Sam nodded, "This stuff tastes lovely, do you add anything to change the flavor?" she asked Chaya.
"No, it's just the dried leaves and hot water," Chaya answered while watching Cyla try the tea and smile.
"She's still coming to herself after being stuck in the ice for so long; she may need a few days to return to normal, " Sam informed them as she watched Karen go to Cyla and hug the surprised woman, who stiffened up.
Alex smiled, then leaned over and patted Karen's head, "It's sweet of you to try and comfort her, but I don't know if hugging her is making her comfortable."
Karen looked up at Cyla's face and noticed that she was stiff; slowly, she let her go and then went to Sam, who picked her up, sat her in her lap, and hugged her.
After a few minutes, a knock came at the door; when Chaya called for who it was to come in, the young girl came in holding a small plant that was just over a foot tall that resembled a tea tree from Japan, but the leaves were blue.
They spent an hour speaking about a few things mostly about how Chaya Sar has been slowly helping the people rebuild, and then they spoke about some of the powers the ascended had gained, she was shocked to learn that Alex, Sam, and Karen had some of the abilities or some that were similar to the ascended while in a flash and blood body.
"Well, we need to get going. We've probably stayed longer than the council is comfortable with, and we have one more stop to make," Alex said, standing with the others following.
Cyla stepped to Sam and smiled, "Thank..you for...helping..me," she said haltingly.
Sam smiled in return, "You are welcome, Chaya will help you get settled in here, we would offer you a place with us but it could be dangerous for you in other realities due to entropic cascade failure, which means that anywhere we go if there is another version of you, your body will begin to fail, nobody wants that but we may be able to come back from time to time." Sam told her. Then Karen leaned over and hugged Cyla again. This time, it was returned with a smile.
Alex and Kira nodded while Chaya smiled, "We'll see about coming back but I can't promise anything about it being soon it could be weeks or months before we can return, " he told them then lifted his Omni tool up, Sam seeing that nodded then after Cyla and Karen released each other joined Alex and Kira, "Alright Athena we're ready to return."
'Yes, captain, transporting now.' Athena answered, and then the four were bathed in light and then disappeared when the light faded away.
Now on the bridge of Athena, Alex nodded, then went to the navigation terminal, " We'll have to make this quick; I can do the DNA gathering, Sam. You get a scan of the ship; Kira you and Karen stay on Athena and keep a watch out for Wraith ships."
The others nodded, he then plotted the course and set the ship in motion through hyperdrive, "I want to go slow this time so I can go through the information I got from the city, Sam you should do the same, I'm going to try to make some adjustments for options in realities where the physics of this set aren't compatible I may change the next reality beore picking a Stargate reality to make a home in."
Sam nodded, then pushed him away from her station and sat down, closing her eyes, "Okay, that was a big scan, but I do have a question about something I never thought about before: when we create stuff, where does the matter that makes up the things come from?" Sam asked while sifting through the mental folder containing the city's information.
"Oh well that's easy to answer, it comes from the blind eternities, that place is everything and nothing at the same time, Gran allows the people with the ability to create items to draw the matter needed to build stuff, while you are limited in the size right now you will eventually be able to create something as large as Atlantis, while I'm not so limited and I think that comes from me gaining my powers from an elder Plane's walker and a Dimensional traveler of the same level," he answered while walking to sit in the captions chair.
Kira listened to them talk and then asked, "Are you going to give me that ability later?"
Alex hummed, "It depends on whether you decide to continue to travel with us or not, I don't want to leave you vulnerable to the realities of people finding a way to control you and force you to create stuff, as long as you are with us the house protects your mind from control, but if you stay in a reality and we leave that protection leaves with us," he told her closing his eyes to look over the city in his mind.
"Ohh, I'm still not sure what I will do later, " Kira said while sitting in the chair for tactical; Karen went to her, climbed onto her lap, and snuggled back into her chest as Kira wrapped her arms around her.
For the four-hour trip Alex and Sam worked on the city, while Sam took a scientific approach to how she arranged the city Alex took it to battle type set up with heavy defense and weapons.
"Thirty seconds till we exit hyperspace," Kira announced having moved the navigational screen to her station while they worked.
Alex came out of his mind and looked up just as the hyperspace corridor opened to deposit the ship a thousand meters from the derelict ship.
"Move us to within a hundred meters, then scan the ship; we don't want any surprises, " Alex told the Athena.
Sam opened her eyes after they were alongside the Ancient ship, "We shouldn't have any problems here, that Wraith didn't come here until after the Earth team helped those people destroy that hive ship," she said while looking over the scans of the ship.
Alex nodded, " Yeah I forgot about that," he said while focusing on the readout as well.
"It looks like the ship is mostly intact; if I'm reading this right, their navigational shields were damaged, and they couldn't repair it, so they went into stasis to wait for rescue, only it didn't come," Kira told them as she also went over the scans.
Alex looked for the information on the shields and then nodded, " Yeah, that's the shields for any speed. Overlight speed, Anything faster, and a grain of sand could tare through the ship like a bullet fired at the paper.
"Will you fix it?" Sam asked only to receive a shake of his head in reply.
"No, I promised not to change things here other than the Potentia in Atlantis and taking Cyla to Chaya, anything more, and the ascended may try and intervene."
Neither Sam nor Kira looked happy but said anything because they didn't know what would happen if that happened.
"Alright, let's get this over with; I don't want to stay here too long, " he told them as he stood from his chair.
