Mina's Trial (Part Five)
After Lana returned to the Lush Jungle after getting her Pokemon treated, she and Ed were standing several yards from each other.
"Are you ready, Ed?" asked Lana as she pulls out a pokeball.
"You bet your sweet bippy I am." replied Ed as he pulls out a pokeball.
"Lanturn, go!" said Lana as she throws Lanturn's pokeball and releases it.
"Decidueye, go!" said Ed as he throws Decidueye's pokeball and releases him. "Decidueye, Razor Leaf!" Decidueye flaps his wings and releases leaves from them that hits Lanturn, dealing super effective damage.
"Lanturn, Discharge!" said Lana. Lanturn releases electricity from its body and they hit Decidueye, but not doing much damage; he begins twitching.
"Oh dear; Decidueye's paralyzed." said Edd.
"Decidueye, Leaf Blade!" said Ed. Decidueye breaks out of his paralysis, surprising Lana.
"The bond between Pokemon and Trainer is quite remarkable." said Edd. Decidueye leaps at Lanturn while one of the edge of his wings glowed green, he slashes Lanturn with it, dealing super effective damage.
"Lanturn, Supersonic!" said Lana. Lanturn lets out a yell and releases soundwaves at Decidueye.
"Dodge, and use Tackle!" said Ed. Decidueye flies out of the path of the soundwaves and rams Lanturn, knocking it out.
"Great job, Ed!" said Jimmy.
"That's my big brother!" said Sarah. Lana returns Lanturn to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Lanturn." said Lana. She puts Lanturn's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Go, Cloyster!" She throws Cloyster's pokeball and releases it. "Cloyster, Spike Cannon!" Cloyster closes its shells and fires glowing white darts from them, hitting Decidueye.
"Decidueye, Leafage!" said Ed. Decidueye releases glowing green leaves from his body and they hit Cloyster, doing super effective damage.
"Cloyster, Icicle Crash!" said Lana. Cloyster blows out wind with sparkling blue snow out of its mouth and into the air; icicles come falling down and they hit Decidueye, dealing super effective damage.
"Decidueye, Leaf Blade!" said Ed. Decidueye flies at Cloyster while the edge of his wing glows green; he slashes Cloyster with it as he passes it, dealing super effective damage, and knocks it out.
"You're doing great, Ed!" said Eddy.
"Just one more Pokemon!" said Maxiley. Lana returns Cloyster to its pokeball.
"You rest now, Cloyster." said Lana. She puts Cloyster's pokeball and pulls out another. "I must say, you're Decidueye is well trained, Ed."
"Thanks." replied Ed.
"But you still have to beat my final Pokemon; Araquanid, go!" said Lana, throwing Araquanid's pokeball and releasing it.
"Decidueye, Sucker Punch!" said Ed. Decidueye flies at Araquanid and punches it across the face, damaging it.
"Araquanid, Bug Bite!" said Ed. Araquanid bites Decidueye while he was close to it, dealing super effective damage.
"Decidueye, Pluck!" said Ed. Decidueye flies at Araquanid while his beak glowed green and he jabs Araquanid with it, dealing super effective damage.
"Araquanid, use Crunch!" said Lana. Araquanid leaps at Decidueye while its mandibles glowed white and it bites Decidueye with them, dealing super effective damage, and weakening his defense.
"Decidueye, use Brave Bird!" said Ed. Decidueye flies at Araquanid while surrounded by an orange aura; he rams into Araquanid, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out; Decidueye flinches in pain from the recoil damage by Brave Bird.
"Ed won!" said Eddy.
"I believed he would." said Edd. Lana returns Araquanid to its pokeball.
"You fought well, Araquanid." said Lana. She puts Araquanid's pokeball away and she, along with Mallow walks over to Ed.
"Congratulations, Ed." said Mallow.
"Thanks, Mallow." replied Ed. She reaches into her pocket and pulls out a green flower petal while Lana pulls a blue flower petal out of her pocket.
"Here you go, Ed; you've earned these." said Lana. She and Mallow gives Ed the flower petals.
"And here's a little something extra for you, Ed." said Mallow; she puts a hand behind Ed's head and pulls him into a kiss; seconds later, they broke their kiss. Ed smiles lovingly at Mallow.
"Okay; which of you is battling me next?" asked Lana.
"I believe I am your next opponent." said Edd.
"Very well; I shall return for our battle once I get my Pokemon treated." said Lana. After she leaves, Edd goes over what Pokemon he'll use in his battle.
Twenty minutes later, Lana returns and gets ready for her and Edd's battle.
"Are you ready?" Lana asked Edd.
"I believe I am adequately prepared." Edd replied.
"Then let us begin." said Lana. She and Edd each take a pokeball off their waists. Lana throws hers, releasing her Lanturn; and Edd throws his, releasing his Magnezone.
"Magnezone, please use Spark!" said Edd. Magnezone flies at Lanturn while covered in electricity and rams it, but the attack was absorbed into Lanturn's body.
"What happened?" asked Eddy.
"My Lanturn's ability is Volt Absorb." said Lana.
"So electric attacks will only help your Lanturn." said Edd.
"Precisely." said Lana. "Lanturn, use Hydro Pump!" Her Lanturn releases a blast of water from its mouth, hitting Magnezone, damaging him.
"Double-D better do something." said Jimmy.
"Magnezone, please use Tri Attack!" said Edd. Magnezone fires a triangle-shaped; red, yellow, and blue beam of energy at Lanturn, hitting it; bits of fire appears on its body.
"How is Lanturn burned?" asked Sarah.
"Tri Attack could either burn, paralyze, or freeze the Pokemon it hits." said Edd.
"Lanturn, use Bubble Beam!" said Lana. Lanturn fires a barrage of bubbles from its mouth, hitting Magnezone; Lanturn takes damage from its burn.
"Magnezone, please use Sonic Boom!" said Edd. Magnezone releases a powerful sound blast that hits Lanturn, hitting it.
"Lanturn, use Hydro Pump one more time!" said Lana. Lanturn fires another powerful stream of water at Magnezone, hitting it, and knocking it out; Lanturn takes more damage from its burn.
"I can't believe that Magnezone lost." said Sarah.
"It was at a disadvantage." said Maxiley. Edd returns his Magnezone to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Magnezone." said Edd. He puts Magnezone's pokeball back on his waist and pulls another one off; he tosses it, releasing his Stoutland that growls at Lanturn, making it nervous, and weakening its attack strength.
"Intimidate's a handy ability." said Maxiley.
"Stoutland, use Retaliate!" said Edd. His Stoutland rushes at Lanturn and rams it hard, doing enough damage to knock it out.
"Sweet!" said Eddy.
"That move was strong." said Jimmy.
"Retaliate's power increases when one of my Pokemon loses consciousness before it's used." said Edd. Lana returns her Lanturn to its pokeball.
"You were wonderful, Lanturn." said Lana. She puts Lanturn's pokeball back on her waist and pulls another one off; she tosses it, releasing her Cloyster.
"Stoutand, please use Thunder Fang!" said Edd. Stoutland runs at Cloyster while his fangs were covered in electricity and bites down on it, doing super effective damage; the Cloyster begins to twitch.
"Cloyster's paralyzed!" said Ed.
"Cloyster, use Icicle Crash!" said Lana. Cloyster fights through paralysis and drops a bunch of icicles onto Stoutland, damaging him.
"Stoutland, please use Reversal!" said Edd. His Stoutland becomes covered in an orange aura as he runs at Cloyster and hits it, dealing super effective damage.
"Cloyster, use Spike Cannon!" said Lana. Cloyster fires spikes from its shell, hitting Stoutland multiple times.
"Stoutland, use Crunch!" said Edd. Stoutland bites down hard onto Cloyster, damaging it enough to knock it out.
"Two down, one to go!" said Maxiley. Lana returns her Cloyster to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Cloyster." said Lana. She puts Cloyster's pokeball back on her waist and pulls another one off; she tosses it, releasing her Araquanid. "Araquanid, use Lunge!" Her Araquanid moves quickly at Stoutland and rams him, doing damage, and making his body sag.
"Stoutland, use Thunder Fang!" said Edd. His Stoutland moves at Araquanid with electricity-coated fangs, and bites down on it, dealing super effective damage.
"Araquanid, use Leech Life!" said Lana. Her Araquanid bites down on Stoutland and drains his remaining stamina, healing itself a bit, and knocking Stoutland out.
"Double-D has one Pokemon left now." said Eddy.
"He can win!" said Jimmy. Edd returns his Stoutland to his pokeball.
"You were wonderful, Stoutland." said Edd. He puts Stoutland's pokeball away and pulls his last one off his waist; he tosses it, releasing his Toucannon.
"Toucannon, use Drill Peck!" said Edd. His Toucannon spirals towards Araquanid and jabs his beak into it, dealing super effective damage.
"Araquanid, use Ice Beam!" said Lana. Araquanid fires a beam of ice energy from its mouth, hitting Toucannon, dealing super effective damage.
"Toucannon, use Beak Blast!" said Edd. His Toucannon flies up into the sky and comes down fast right onto Araquanid, dealing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"Double-D won!" said Ed.
"I knew he could do it." said Eddy. Lana returns her Araquanid to its pokeball.
"You did well, Araquanid." said Lana. She and Mallow walk over to Edd and they each hand him a petal, one green and one blue, along with some pokedollars.
"Thank you." said Edd. Lana looks towards Eddy.
"I believe you're up next." said Lana.
"You know it." said Edd.
"We will battle once I get my Pokemon treated." said Lana.
"I'll be right here." said Eddy. As he waits for Lana to return, he goes over what he learned about her Pokemon from his friends' battles.
Soon, Lana returns, and she and Eddy get ready to begin their battle.
"Are you ready?" Lana asked Eddy.
"You know it." said Eddy. He and Lana each pull a pokeball off their waists. Lana throws hers, releasing her Lanturn; while Eddy tosses his, releasing his Leafeon. "Okay, Leafeon, use Razor Leaf!" His Leafeon launches a barrage of leaves at Lanturn, hitting it, dealing super effective damage.
"Lanturn, use Thunder Wave!" said Lana. Her Lanturn releases a blast of static electricity that hits Leafeon, paralyzing her.
"We're not gonna let something like that stop us!" said Eddy. His Leafeon uses his inner strength to dispel the paralysis, surprising Lana.
"Unbelievable." said Lana.
"Leafeon, use Quick Attack!" said Eddy. His Leafeon moves quickly at Lanturn, hitting it, and knocking it out.
"Way to go, Eddy!" said Ed.
"He's got this!" said Maxiley. Lana returns her Lanturn to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Lanturn." said Lana before she puts Lanturn's pokeball back on her waist; she pulls another one off and tosses it, releasing her Cloyster.
"Leafeon, use Magicial Leaf!" said Eddy. His Leafeon unleashes a barrage of glowing green leaves that hit Cloyster, dealing super effective damage.
"Cloyster, use Ice Beam!" said Lana. Cloyster hits Leafeon with a beam of ice energy, hitting him, and dealing super effective damage.
"Leafeon, use Giga Drain!" said Eddy. A stream of green energy comes out of Leafeon and hits Cloyster, draining it of its remaining stamina, healing Leafeon a bit, and knocking Cloyster out.
"Two down, one to go!" said Sarah. Lana returns her Cloyster to its pokeball.
"You fought hard, Cloyster." said Lana. She puts Cloyster's pokeball back on her waist; she pulls her last one off and tosses it, releasing her Araquanid.
"Leafeon, use Quick Attack!" said Eddy. His Leafeon moves quickly at Araquanid, hitting it, and deals damage.
"Araquanid, use Leech Life!" said Lana. Araquanid bites down on Leafeon, dealing super effective damage, and using the stamina it took to heal itself.
"Leafeon, use Baby-Doll Eyes!" said Eddy. His Leafeon's eyes turn sparkly, unnerving Araquanid, and lowers its attack strength.
"Araquanid, use Ice Beam!" said Lana. Her Araquanid fires a beam of ice energy at Leafeon, hitting it, and deals enough damage to knock him out.
"Aww, man!" said Maxiley.
"Hang in there, Eddy!" said Jimmy. Eddy returns his Leafeon to his pokeball.
"You were awesome, pal." said Eddy. He puts Leafeon's pokeball back on his waist and pulls another one off; he tosses it, releasing his Vikavolt. "Vikavolt, use Thunderbolt!" His Vikavolt fires a blast of electricity from his mandibles, hitting Araquanid, dealing super effective damage.
"Araquanid, use Crunch!" said Lana. Her Araquanid bites down hard on Vikavolt, dealing damage, and lowering his defense.
"Vikavolt, use Zap Cannon!" said Eddy. Vikavolt fires a green ball of electricity at Araquanid, hitting it, and dealing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"Eddy won!" cheered Ed.
"That was amazing!" said Maxiley.
"Quite exceptional." said Edd. Lana returns her Araquanid to its pokeball.
"You battled well, Araquanid." said Lana. She puts Araquanid's pokeball back on her waist and she and Mallow walk over to Eddy. "You have defeated me, Eddy." She and Mallow each hand Eddy a petal, one green and one blue, plus some pokedollars.
"Sweet!" said Eddy. His friends come over and they all celebrate their victories.
The group has won their third and fourth petals. Will they win their next ones at Wela Volcano Park? Wait and find out.
