But I'm back and I have this story just about finished so will be uploading one chapter a week until it's finished. If anyone is still around, let me know what you think about this chapter!

Chapter 4:

There was a small glimpse of the cold steel gun in the dim streetlight as the man forced Brooke and Peyton into the SUV. Peyton's heart shuddered in her chest, her mind racing as she tried to figure out who this man could be and what he might want with them. Brooke, though visibly shaken and terrified, gave Peyton a reassuring glance, silently promising they'd get through this together.

Once the girls were secure in the back of the SUV, the man climbs into the driver's seat, snapping out orders through a walkie-talkie as the SUV took off into the night. Slowly, Peyton took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves and think clearly. After a few tense moments, she got up the nerve to speak.

"Who are you? What do you want with us?" she demands with a crackling but defiant voice.

The man doesn't even look back towards them, just keeps his eyes on the road ahead. "That's not your concern. You'll find out in due time," he growls, his voice low and frightening.

Brooke, sits quietly beside Peyton, mutters under her breath, "This is why I told you to always take someone with you."

Peyton shoots her a glare but doesn't respond. Now isn't the time for an I-told-you-so. Especially since they were taken from their house, where they should have been safe. How was Peyton to know something like this would happen, she wonders to herself.

As the SUV navigates it's way through the back roads of Tree Hill, Peyton's mind keeps replaying the events that have taken place over the last few days. Brian. Mia. The revelation that she has more family that she didn't know about. Could this be connected to Brian's past? Or is it connected to something from Ellie and her biological father's past? She has a sinking feeling it's the former and regrets not listening to Brooke in the first place.

Across town, Brian was sitting in his hotel room, as sleep eluded him. Something in Peyton's story had left him unsettled. Though he had just met her, knowing that she was his sister, left him feeling very protective over her. It was something that surprised him but also not something he was in control of.

Mia and Jack were sleeping soundly, but Brian's restless pacing had returned as he was debating on whether or not he should call to check on Peyton one last time. His gut was telling him that something wasn't right.

Just then, his phone rang, breaking the silence and causing him to jump slightly. He looked down at the screen and saw that it was Roman calling him.

"Hey, Brian," Roman said in serious tone, which is highly unusual for him. "I've been doing some digging since you told me about this sister situation of yours. You're not gonna like what I found out."

Brian's heart sank, he closed his eyes and let out a small nervous sigh. "What did you find Rome?" he asks hesitantly.

"Word on the street is someone took a bounty out on you. And apparently, they've been sniffing around Tree Hill." Roman answer quietly.

Brian's stomach turns as fear begins to creep in. "Do you know who it is?"

Roman cursed under his breath and then lets out a low growl "Yeah, old enemies. Names we've heard before, people we've tangled with in the past. But here's the real kicker, they're not just after you. They're after your whole family, man. You need to check on that sister of yours, like right now."

Brian's heart stops and his blood freezes. Without skipping a beat, he grabs his keys but then realizes he can't leave Mia and Jack alone. He rushes to Mia's side and gently nudges her to wake up.

"Brian, it's 1 a.m., what's going on?" she asks, a look of concern in her eyes.

"We're in trouble. We're in big trouble, Peyton's in danger. I need to go check on her, make sure she's ok. But I need you to call Dom and see if he can get the team here, I think we're going to need help." He tells her before turning and rushing out the door.

The SUV pulls into a dark parking lot, the girls recognize it as an old abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of town. They are then forced out of the vehicle and pushed towards the warehouse. The thick, night air scented with the smell of oil and metal, the faint whirl of machinery in the background from nearby factories.

"Sit," the man barks, once they are through the warehouse doors. He shoves them into two chairs that have been setup in the middle of the room. Peyton tries to keep her breathing calm and steady, her mind is racing as she looks around the room, trying to find a way to escape. Brooke is deathly silent beside her, with her hands clenched tightly in her lap.

A short time later, they hear the sound of heavy footsteps echoing through the upper part of the warehouse. Finally, a tall man steps out into the light, his face is shadowed by the brim of the baseball cap he's wearing. When he finally looks up, he smiles at the girls.

"You must be Peyton Sawyer," the man says, his voice calm, almost charming. "And you must be Brooke Davis. Welcome, I'm glad I finally have the chance to meet you."

"Who are you?" Peyton demands, her voice much more firm and confident than she felt.

The a small smirk creeps across the mans lips. "Let's just say I'm someone who has a score to settle with your brother."

Peyton freezes. "My brother? What are you talking about?"

The man chuckles before his lips form a snarl. "Don't play dumb, you know exactly who I'm talking about. Brian O'Conner, the man you met just a short time ago." He notices her eyes widen in realization, "Oh yes my dear, we've been keeping an eye on you for some time now."

Peyton gasps "But what does all of this have to do with me?" she manages to choke out.

"Ah you see my dear, it has everything to do with you. Your brother has a nasty habit of sticking his nose where it doesn't belong. I've been searching for some leverage for quite some time. I was hoping to snag his wife or his kid but I can never seem to catch them alone. But then I found out about you and wouldn't you know, he led me right to you. It was perfect!"

"But he just met me, why do you think he'll care what you do to me?" Peyton asks nervously.

The man laughs "Oh child, you have a lot to learn about Brian O'Conner and his brother in-law Dominic Toretto, family is everything to them. And family will be what I use to destroy them." He says coldly.

Brooke finally finds her voice. "Look, you don't have to do this, whatever problem you have with Brian, we have nothing to do with it. And I have money, I can pay you. Just let Peyton and I go." She pleads.

The man turns to her with a sneer. "Oh sweetheart, unfortunately for you, that's not how this is going to work."

Brian's car speeds through the empty streets of Tree Hill as he dials his phone. "Hey Tej, I need the number for Lucas Scott who lives here in Tree Hill. Can you get that for me?" he spits out as Tej answers the phone.

"Yeah, give me just one minute and I'll have it to you." Tej answers quickly before rattling off Lucas' phone number. Brian disconnects quickly and begins dialing again.

Lucas' phone rings twice before a groggy Lucas answers. "Hello?" He answers groggily.

"Lucas, it's Brian O'Conner and I need you listen to me," Brian yells out, his tone urgent. "Peyton and Brooke may be in danger and I need your help."

Lucas is instantly alert, his brain no longer fuzzy once he hears Peyton's name. "What do you mean? What happened?"

"I don't know exactly, but I got a phone call from a friend of mine that leads me to believe they are in danger. Can you meet me at the river court in ten minutes? I can explain a little more in person." He asks.

Lucas doesn't hesitate. "Yeah, I'll be there in five."

As Brian speeds toward the meeting point, a single thought consuming him: 'I'm not losing my sister, not now, not ever.'
