Andy recognized the streets. He knew that Miss Gordon's house was on Levin Street. Hugging the policewoman's jacket around him, he moved quietly along in the night time. He was sure it should be daytime by now.

He counted the houses along and found himself outside the right house. This was the closest thing to a home he could think of. He was a little nervous about knocking. He had been real bad. He was mad at Cheryl for making him go in the water but he didn't want her to fall in. And the police lady fell in trying to help her. They were probably both dead and it was all his fault.

If anyone would understand though, it would be Miss Gordon. And he was really cold.

He knocked on the door. It opened a little.

"Miss Gordon?"

No answer.

"It's me, Andy."

No answer.

"Andy Morgan."

The house was quiet. He checked around downstairs. No one there. He went upstairs and knocked on Miss Gordon's bedroom door. No answer. He opened it, but she wasn't in there. He checked in the little room that he had slept in but there was no one in there either, though the bedside light was on. He thought maybe it was the only light on in Silent Hill.

He saw two bags on the bed and looked inside. They were boys' clothes, for a boy his age. There was a card on the bedside table, in an unsealed envelope with half his name written on it.

"Dear Andy,

I wanted you to have something to remember me by. I hope these all fit you, if not, maybe your mom will bring you to see me before you leave and I can take them back. Spiderman wants you to keep the pajamas too.

I wish you hadn't had to stay at Wish House. Tell your mom to let me know if she has any complaints about your treatment.

Take care!

Love from Kay Gordon"

It had Spiderman on the front.

Thinking about his mom made him sad. But he was too cold to sit there and cry. He went to the bathroom and found a towel and got dry. When he came back, he put on some warm clothes from the bag. He liked the sweater best. He thought it was red, but it was difficult to see.

He left the bedroom door open for some light and went carefully downstairs and got a toaster pastry from the box on the counter. The toaster didn't work so he had to have it cold. He turned on the tv, which did work. He was happy about that. He sat down at the table with his pastry and watched the tv. It was showing a cartoon. Alice in Wonderland! That was weird. He was reading that the other day with…with Claudia. He decided not to think about that.

"Andrew Morgan! It ca'n't be anybody else!" said Alice.

Andy was freaked out. The cartoon said his name!

"Andy, it's me – Alice!"

"This isn't real! You're a cartoon."

"Do you recognize this place Andy?" she asked, ignoring him.

The cartoon whizzed round to show Wish House. It looked a lot nicer in the cartoon.

"Well? Do you?" snapped Alice.

Andy nodded.

"I want you to go there. It's easy to find, just go past the school and head into the woods. There's a torch on the coat rack by the door."

"I don't want to." whimpered Andy.

"If you don't come then-"

"Off with his head!" yelled the Queen of Hearts.

"Who cares for you?" shouted Alice, adding, "Do come Andy Morgan, it will be such an adventure!"

The tv clicked off. Andy sat for a minute, not sure of what to do. Then he thought he certainly didn't want to lose his head. He finished his pastry then went and grabbed the torch from the coat rack. He opened the door. It was cold outside.
