A Cozy BAU Christmas-Ch 9
While part of the men were gone to get the Christmas tree, the others stayed at casa Rossi and helped the women get the decorations out so that later, after dinner, they could work together to decorate the tree as a family.
Penelope was laughing and talking to Shelly and Sandy when the men came home, they opened the double doors and carried the 10 foot tree into the house, Fran said, "ohhhh that's beautiful, that's a little bigger than the one we had last year I think", Dave said, "it is a little bigger for sure, we like to never got it into the back of Derek's truck".
The women all stood watching as the men put the tree into the stand and stood back, Reid said, "that's going ot lookso beautiful when it's fully decorated later", Fran and the others nodded their heads yes in agreement.
Sandy said, "okay so tonight we are decorating the tree, so what else do we do and when do we do it?", Fran said, "tomorrow is the 23rd and we make gingerbread houses, then on the 24th we start working on the desserts and get started cooking parts of our Christmas dinner like the potato and macaroni salads, stuff like that, then before we go to bed on Christmas Eve we put out cookies and milk for Santa and carrots for the reindeer".
Everybody listened as she said, "and on Christmas morning we open all of our gifts and snack on donuts and muffins while we do that and then after all of the gifts are open we start working on dinner, which is usually ready by 1:00 ish and then we spend the rest of the day, eating, laughing and enjoying time together".
Sandy said, "sounds amazing but what if it snows?", Reid said, "oh that's easy, if it snows we can go outside anytime and play with the boys", Sandy said, "it sounds like you guys have a good time during the holidays", Penelope said, "ohhh we do, we doooo" as Derek wrapped one of his arms around her waist and pulled her close.
Fran said, "well, I need somebody to set the table please", Sandy, Shelly, Penelope and JJ said, "I'll help" while Fran, Sarah, Desi and Emily went into the kitchen to start carrying the food out to the table and it was only a few minutes before the men and children heard those magic words, "dinner's ready".
They all flocked to the table and pretty much sat down in what they considered their usual seats and enjoyed a delicious meal together as a family and when everybody was full and the clean up had been completed they moved to the living room to start decorating the tree.
By 8:00 that night the tree looked amazing and they all stood beside it taking pictures and singing Christmas songs and as Peneelope stood there looking around she had no doubts that this Christmas was going to be her best Christmas ever because everybody that she loved with all of her heart was going to be with her and that was all that she needed, now or ever.
