Chapter 14

Pentos 297 AC

Located in the Bay of Pentos was the Free City of Pentos, one of the nine free cities of the continent of Essos. The city was surrounded by tall, massive walls that, despite their formidable appearance, made Pentos the most vulnerable among the free cities. Within its walls stood many towers and walled buildings, residences of the Magisters. The Magisters, the wealthiest people in the city, wielded the real power, although, nominally, Pentos was governed by a prince.

On one of the roads leading to the port, Jon and his group walked towards the city. Alongside them was Ghost, enchanted to appear as a normal wolf pup. Jon had enchanted him this way to avoid problems, as the inhabitants of Essos, upon seeing the direwolf, often attacked it, considering it a threat. The more harmless appearance of the wolf avoided these incidents.

"Woaaa! We knew it was hot in Essos, but this is another level." Pyp complained, fanning himself with his hand.

"Obviously we're hot, don't you see we're wearing our armor?" Grenn replied, also trying to cool off.

"Now I know what ducks feel like in the oven…" Edd murmured, wiping the sweat from his forehead.

"It seems Jon is having the worst time." Sam pointed out, gesturing towards his friend.

The others followed Sam's direction and realized Jon was sweating much more than they were.

'Ahhh… kill me… I can't stand this heat.' Jon thought, suffering from the scorching weather. Accustomed to life in the North, where the cold reigned, his tolerance for heat was nonexistent, and his armor and brown cloak only made the situation worse.

"We need to buy new clothes." Sam commented, fanning himself. "What we're wearing isn't suitable for this climate."

"Thank you, Captain Obvious." Pyp replied sarcastically.

The five friends nodded and decided to find a clothing store before continuing. After wandering for a while, they finally found a suitable store and bought lighter garments. Then, they headed to an inn to eat something and explore the city before setting sail that same night for Lys, their next destination.

Upon arriving at an inn that allowed Ghost's presence, they ordered food and settled at a table. The menu was nothing special, just a lamb stew accompanied by rye bread. To go with the meal, they ordered some beer. After finishing their meal, Edd, Grenn, and Pyp dragged Sam to a brothel, determined for the young man to have his first experience with a woman, as Sam had confessed he had never been with one.

"It seems it's just you and me, huh, Ghost?" Jon said, watching his wolf, who was busy gnawing on a lamb bone.

Jon continued sipping his beer in small sips. It wasn't the best beer he had ever tasted, but it was what was available. He had been sitting like that for several minutes when, to his surprise, a figure sat down in front of him.

"It seems you don't like the beer much." commented a female voice, catching his attention.

Jon looked up and saw a woman who appeared to be in her early twenties. She was slender, with a thin face and an aquiline nose that, although somewhat large for her face, was disguised by her haughty smile. Her short black hair framed a pair of dark eyes. Unlike many women Jon had known, she wasn't wearing a dress; she wore a sleeveless leather jerkin, half undone, revealing some skin. She completed her outfit with black pants, a studded belt, and high leather boots stained with salt.

"It's not that I don't like it, it's just that this beer isn't the best I've had." Jon replied, looking her directly in the eyes, not letting himself be distracted by the skin she was showing.

The woman's smile widened upon seeing that Jon wasn't easily distracted.

"It seems you're not like the other men I've met." she commented while taking a sip of her beer. "What's your name?"

Jon gave a playful smile. "Isn't it polite to introduce yourself before asking someone else's name?"

The woman let out a small laugh, clearly amused by Jon's attitude.

"Ha, ha, ha! You really are different!" the woman laughed. "But I suppose you're right. My name is Esgred, and I'm a young woman who lives around here."

Jon raised an eyebrow, intrigued. The name she gave didn't seem typical of Essos, but rather of the North.

"A pleasure, my name is Jon." he replied.

Esgred smiled coquettishly before continuing. "Tell me, Jon, how about a bet?"

Jon saw her smile and, feigning confusion, asked. "What kind of bet?"

"Let's have a drinking contest to see who can drink more."

"Hmm… sounds interesting, but what would the prizes be?"

"If I win, you'll have to buy me several barrels of beer." Esgred replied with a smile.

"And if I win, what do I get?"

Esgred smiled even more widely and reached up to her doublet, exposing a little more of her cleavage.

That was all Jon needed to understand what his prize would be if he won the bet. Taking a moment to consider his options, he finally decided to accept.

Thus began the drinking contest. Many of the tavern's patrons gathered around, watching with interest and placing bets. To Jon's surprise, Esgred seemed to be famous for her drinking ability, as many commented that he wouldn't be able to beat her. However, what they didn't know was that Jon had a high tolerance for alcohol, making it difficult for her to win.

Jon lifted his fifteenth mug of beer and brought it to his mouth, while watching Esgred also drink from her fifteenth mug. At a glance, Jon noticed that she was reaching her limits; on several occasions, he saw her hand tremble as she lifted the last mug.

After taking another sip of his beer, Jon heard a dull thud. Looking towards the source of the sound, he saw that Esgred had fallen with her head on the table.

"It seems I've won." Jon said, placing his empty mug on the table after drinking its entire contents in one gulp.

"So… (hic) it… seems…" Esgred mumbled, trying to stand up. However, her drunken state overcame her, and she almost fell to the floor.

Fortunately, Jon moved quickly and caught her before she collapsed.

"Heh, heh… (hic) Thanks…" she murmured.

Jon simply shook his head.

"My… room is on the second floor…" Esgred whispered, wrapping her arms around Jon's neck.

Understanding what she wanted, Jon sighed and led her to the second floor of the inn. He climbed a set of worn oak stairs until he reached Esgred's room. He opened the door and walked in.

The inn room was a simple room, which consisted of a simple bed and nothing else. Seeing this, Jon walked over to the bed and left the woman there. When he did, he was about to leave, but to his surprise, Esgred caught him with her arms and pushed him to the bed, then positioned herself on top of him.

'What the fuck?' Jon thought in amazement, not expecting this.

"Where do you think you're going, Jon?" Esgred asked in a flirtatious, amused voice, showing that she wasn't really drunk. "Will you leave without getting your prize?"

Jon stood still and looked at the woman, who was beginning to move her face closer to his. The woman's breath smelled of alcohol, but that didn't bother Jon, who finally decided to claim his prize, so without hesitation, he captured Esgred's lips in a passionate kiss.

The two began a furious battle for dominance, a battle that was won by Jon when he placed his hands behind the woman's thighs to spin her around so that she ended up face up on the bed with Jon on top of her.

The kiss escalated in intensity as both began using their tongues to try and keep dominance, in Jon's case, or gain it, in Esgred's case. When they separated, neither of them wasted any time and quickly began to undress, removing their clothes so quickly it almost felt like they were being torn off.

When they were both completely naked, Esgred laid back and spread her legs, allowing Jon to see her pussy, which was almost completely shaved, a small, neatly trimmed bush of black hair crowning it. Licking his lips, Jon began to descend until his head was between the girl's legs. His eyes could see that Esgred's pussy was a pale pink color with not very pronounced outer lips. Bringing his face closer, Jon began to use his tongue to stimulate the outer area of Esgred's pussy, earning a few small moans from the woman.

The woman began to moan a little loudly, but Jon ignored her words, as he was very focused on his current task. Moving his tongue up and down, he began to stimulate Esgred's pussy more vigorously, causing him to release a lot of vaginal fluids.

"~Ahh…~ You really are v-v-very… Good! ~" Esgred moaned as she felt Jon insert his tongue into her pussy. Her body began to move smoothly, as the young man was very good at giving «The Lord's Kiss».

That scene continued for several minutes, during which Jon continued to play with Esgred, bringing her to almost climax on more than one occasion, but always leaving her in suspense, because when she was about to reach it, he stopped using his tongue, which made Esgred's body relax and not reach climax. However, at this point Jon had already decided not to continue playing, so using his tongue more quickly, he began to make Esgred's body start to have small spasms.

"~AH~! Damn bastard, you're good at this! Keep going…! Now…! I'm almost there!" Esgred screamed in pleasure as she felt herself getting closer to climax. She gave a silent scream as her body trembled and the inner walls of her pussy contracted as she felt an electric current run through her body.

The woman's body fell onto the bed as her breathing became erratic as she gasped for air. However, before she could think or say anything, she felt her legs being lifted, causing her ass to rise a few inches off the bed. Looking in that direction, she saw that Jon was the one who had lifted her legs, spreading them a little.

"Did you think we were just going to end it with that?" Jon asked with amusement.

The woman looked at Jon and smiled too.

"Good, since what you did earlier wasn't enough to satisfy me."

The smile on Jon's face grew in intensity as he moved his hips and forced his cock into Esgred's pussy. Jon let out a groan as he felt the woman's tight inner walls surround his member. Beginning to move his hips, the room began to fill with moans coming from Esgred.

Keeping Esgred's feet trapped in an upturned position, Jon began to increase the speed of his thrusts, causing the woman to feel more pleasure. And so, they were having sex for a few minutes until Jon decided to change positions, so lowering Esgred's legs, he wrapped his arms around the woman's waist and lay down on the bed, causing her to end up on top of him.

In this new position, Jon continued his work, generating more moans from the woman, who at one point freed herself from Jon's arms and began to ride him as if her life depended on it.

The strong and enthusiastic sex session began to make the bed creak, as Esgred moved her hips with great intensity, causing Jon to grunt with pleasure, who had his hands on Esgred's breasts. Jon kneaded the right breast and pulled the nipple of the left breast, causing Esgred to feel more pleasure.

"~Ahh~ ~You really are good at this boy~" Esgred moaned as she placed her hands on Jon's chest, so that she had some sort of support so that she could move her hips better.

"Heh, yes I have been told." Jon replied as he pulled not just one nipple, but both of Esgred's nipples, thus causing the woman to let out a loud moan.

"~I-I hope you have good stamina~"

"Don't worry, this won't be over until dawn." Jon said as he abruptly stood up and made Esgred fall onto the bed. After that, Jon made a quick maneuver and ended up putting the woman on all fours and without waiting a second longer, he began to penetrate her from behind, thus causing moans from Esgred.

"~Ahhh...~ ~Yes, like that~ ~Keep going like that~" Esgred moaned happily, as she was really enjoying sex with Jon, since he was neither too rough nor too gentle with her, but rather, he was using the necessary amount of force to give her pleasure without hurting her.

The bed began to rock as Jon continued to penetrate the woman on all fours without stopping. This lasted for quite a while until they both finally reached their respective climaxes.

"Aghh/ ~AHHH~!" Jon's grunt synchronized with Esgred's scream, who was about to fall face downwards onto the bed; however, that didn't happen, as Jon stopped her before she fell.

To the woman's shock and panic, Jon hugged her from behind, allowing her to feel something hard press against her lower back.

"I hope you don't think this is over, do you?" Jon whispered into Esgred's ear, who felt her body shudder at Jon's words. It seemed that this session of passion would not end for a long time.

Night had already fallen over the city of Pentos. While Jon continued enjoying himself with Esgred, in another part of the city, a young girl a year younger than him was running for her life, tears of sadness streaming down her cheeks.

The girl was beautiful, with long, pale silver-gold hair. Her skin was fair, and her deep violet eyes shone with desperation. Although she was barely thirteen years old, her body was still slender and not very developed. Her name was Daenerys Targaryen, the last daughter of the late King Aerys II, known as «The Mad King».

Daenerys ran aimlessly, fleeing from the assassins who had just killed her brother. She and Viserys had lived on the streets since Ser Willem Darry, their protector, died of illness. Before that, they lived in Braavos, in a house with a red door and a lemon tree. But after Ser Willem's death, they were forced to flee without a single coin, as their servants had robbed them. Since then, they wandered through various places, surviving thanks to the charity of some magisters.

Mopatisd Daenerys' luck had changed when a magister from Pentos, Illyrio Mopatis, offered them refuge in his mansion. The magister's heralds found them on their way to Pentos, and her brother accepted the offer at once. The guards escorted them to the mansion, but upon arriving in the city at night, they were ambushed in an alley. The attackers were many, at least fifteen, and although the guards were armed, they were out of shape and fell quickly.

After that, the assassins pounced on Viserys with inhuman fury, stabbing him mercilessly. Daenerys was paralyzed for a moment, but miraculously, she managed to react and began to run aimlessly.

She ran street after street, not looking back. Turning a corner, she tripped and fell to the ground, scraping her knees against the pavement.

"Come on, she went this way, that incest spawn!" shouted one of her brother's assassins.

Hearing that, Daenerys' eyes widened in horror. Despite the pain, she got up with difficulty and kept running until she finally reached the docks.

"Where do I go?" she asked herself desperately, not knowing what to do.

"She headed towards the docks!" shouted another assassin, whose voice sounded dangerously close.

"Good, she won't have anywhere to run from there!" added another, as more voices joined in, filling her with panic.

Desperate and out of options, Daenerys ran towards the docks and boarded a ship.

Sunlight began to filter into the room at the inn where Jon had spent the night with Esgred. His eyes slowly opened as one of the rays hit him squarely in the face. Fully awake, Jon realized he was in a room at the inn. He blinked a few times until he remembered what had happened the night before. Looking down at his chest, he saw Esgred sleeping soundly, just like him, completely naked.

A smile spread across his face as he recalled everything they had done during the night; he had been more intense than a battering ram against a reinforced gate.

"Ahh… What time is it?" Jon murmured, seeing the shadow cast by the light filtering through the window, trying to estimate the hour. After looking at the shadow, he deduced it must be the first light of day. He knew his friends would be upset for not having returned to the ship, so he decided not to waste any more time. Carefully, he freed himself from Esgred's embrace and quickly dressed. Then, he quietly left the room.

Upon exiting, he found Ghost waiting for him in the hallway. The direwolf, sensing his presence, wagged his tail like a puppy.

Jon smiled and crouched to pet his head. "Thanks for waiting for me, Ghost." he said, while the wolf licked his hand. "For doing a good job as a guard, you've earned a nice piece of meat just for you."

With those words, Jon and Ghost descended the stairs and reached the inn's dining room. As soon as Jon set foot there, many of the women present blushed upon seeing him, while the men looked at him with respect and envy.

Jon didn't understand why they were looking at him that way, but he didn't give it much thought and headed towards the exit. However, just before leaving, the innkeeper stopped him.

"What is it, good sir?" Jon asked.

"I don't mean to trouble you, young man, but the girl you were with last night hasn't paid for her stay."

Hearing this, Jon understood the situation. It seemed the innkeeper wanted him to pay for Esgred's stay. Although he could have refused, Jon decided to pay without arguing. After doing so, he left the place heading for the port.

As he walked through the streets of Pentos, he noticed a group of people gathered in one of the alleys. Although he normally wouldn't have paid attention, the strong smell of blood piqued his curiosity, so he headed there. Upon arrival, he saw several corpses scattered in the alley. What really surprised him was that one of the corpses was decapitated.

Confused by the scene, Jon decided to ask a bystander.

"Excuse me, what happened?"

The man looked at him and replied. "Some Unsullied guards have been killed, along with other people."

Jon stopped looking at him and turned his attention back to the bodies. It didn't take him long to identify the Unsullied; they were the only ones wearing armor.

'Their armor wasn't bad, but they were in terrible physical shape. That's why they were killed so easily.' Jon thought as he saw the multiple stab wounds on the Unsullied bodies. Then, he shifted his gaze to the decapitated corpse. 'This is strange. If they wanted to give an example, why not take the whole body? No, this is clearly a revenge killing.'

Jon's thoughts were interrupted when he remembered he needed to head to the dock. He left the scene without much interest or desire to investigate the murder.

After walking for several minutes, he finally reached the port. When the salty breeze hit his face, Jon smiled. That meant he would soon be leaving for Lys. However, before going to the ship, he walked towards a building at the far right of the port. It was a simple three-story building with peach-colored bricks and red tiles. Upon entering, he saw several people moving back and forth, and others sitting in front of books, noting down commercial transactions. This was the customs control of the city of Pentos.

Jon approached one of the men, sat down, and coughed slightly to get his attention.

The man, about forty years old, with thinning brown hair and a beard flecked with gray, looked up from his book and stared at Jon.

"Ohhh… Captain Snow. I've been expecting you. You were supposed to set sail last night, but you didn't." the man said in an almost accusatory tone.

"Yes, I know, and I'm very sorry for the delay. Something came up at the last minute, and I couldn't set sail." Jon replied, scratching his neck with some embarrassment.

"I see. Well, if it was an unforeseen event, there won't be much of a problem. However, I'm afraid you'll have to pay a fine for not setting sail on the scheduled date."

"Alright… no problem. How much are we talking about?"

"It's not much, just the payment for an extra day of stay in the port, plus a fifty percent surcharge on the daily rate."

"I see, so I'll have to pay for one more day plus half of the next, right?"

The man nodded.

Jon reached into his magic bag and pulled out a small pouch of coins. After placing the money on the table, the man began to count it. When he finished, he nodded and handed Jon a paper with several annotations. Then, he sealed the document with wax, and Jon left the building accompanied by Ghost.

Upon reaching the dock where the «StarWolf» was anchored, Jon noticed the presence of several guards. They were responsible for protecting the ships during the night and ensuring that all vessels preparing to set sail had paid the docking fee.

"Good morning." Jon greeted the guards.

"Good morning, Captain." they responded in unison. One of them stepped forward and added. "If you're going to set sail, I hope you've already paid the docking fee."

Jon nodded and handed them the sheet he had received at the customs office. The guard read it, nodded in agreement, and returned the document before withdrawing with his companions. When the guards left, Jon continued his way with Ghost until they reached the ship. They climbed the ramp and found themselves on the deck of the «StarWolf».

As soon as he set foot on board, Jon was quickly approached by a visibly upset Pyp.

"Damn it, Jon! Where the hell were you?" Pyp asked as he approached his friend.

"Something came up, and I lost track of time." Jon replied.

Pyp looked at him with narrowed eyes, but after letting out a sigh, he nodded. Then, he turned his head and shouted. "Captain on board! Prepare to set sail!"

Narrow Sea, 297 AC

The «StarWolf» sailed the waters of the Narrow Sea, heading towards the Stepstones, as they needed to pass through that area to reach Lys. While Jon was at the helm, guiding the ship, Sam and the rest of the group were in the hold, checking the cargo they were transporting. The ship carried goods, specifically products that could only be obtained in Braavos and Pentos. However, the final destination was not Lys, but the Summer Isles, where they hoped to get a good price for them.

"How much cargo are we carrying?" Pyp asked, examining one of the enchanted chests.

"If I'm not mistaken, around five thousand gold dragons." Sam replied, looking at a sheet where he had noted all the information about the cargo.

"That's quite a lot, but if we're lucky, it will sell for fifteen times its price in the Summer Isles." Grenn commented, checking another of the boxes.

"Yes, as long as it doesn't spoil, or we don't get attacked by pirates." Edd pointed out with his usual pessimism.

"Stop being so negative, Edd. Remember that the pirates were eliminated from the Stepstones not long ago. Although they will return, the recent massacre will make them think twice before reappearing. That will ensure us a quiet passage for at least a couple more months." Sam said.

"I hope so. I hate fighting on a ship." Grenn commented.

The others nodded in silence, sharing the same sentiment. None of them enjoyed fighting at sea; they discovered this when they fought in the Stepstones for Braavos.

Without further words, the four friends continued checking the chests. Just as they were about to finish and leave the hold, they heard a noise coming from the darker areas.

"What was that?" Grenn whispered, instinctively reaching for his sword. His friends at once followed suit.

"I don't know, but it came from the far right." Pyp said, looking towards the darkness.

"Maybe it's a monster from the Thousand Islands that has come to devour us." Edd said, looking with some fear towards where Pyp had pointed.

"I don't think so. If it were a monster, it would have attacked us already." Sam pointed out more logically.

The four were preparing to approach when, suddenly, they heard something land behind them.

"AHHH!"

"Please, don't eat us!"

"Yes, eat Edd, he's the juiciest of us!"

"No, better eat Sam!"

Those were the not-so-manly screams they let out after hearing the impact. However, to their surprise, they didn't hear the roar of a monster, but laughter. Looking back, they saw that the one who had fallen was none other than Jon, laughing heartily at seeing them so scared.

"Damn it, Jon! Don't scare us like that!" Grenn shouted, still shaken.

"Grenn is right! I almost had a heart attack!" Sam added.

"Alright, alright. I won't do it again." Jon said, trying to have his laughter. "What happened? Why were you so defensive?"

"We heard a noise and thought it was a monster." Edd replied with total honesty.

"A monster? Heh, heh, heh. I don't think so, guys. This ship is enchanted, so it would be difficult for a monster to sneak in. Besides, if there were one, it would have attacked us when we were at Eastwatch."

Jon's words made sense, and his friends realized it probably wasn't a monster. Still, intrigued by the noise, they began to think about what it could have been. Without reaching a clear conclusion, Jon decided to investigate on his own and headed towards the source of the sound. Upon arrival, he noticed it came from a barrel that usually had salted meat, intended to be consumed during the journey.

With a sigh, Jon lifted the lid.

What he found inside made his eyes widen in surprise: instead of meat, there was a beautiful girl with pale skin, silver hair, and violet eyes, looking at him with a mix of fear and hope.
