After leaving the Cooper Gang's world and sealed the Keyhole, so they flew across the cosmos for their next destination.
"I know we just left, but I can't help but wonder what Sly, Bentley, and Murray are up to," Sora said.
"Same here. And I'm certain Inspector Carmelita Fox probably escaped her cuffs and left Clockwerk's base of operations," Kairi said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Now we have a new world to get to. And I think I see one," Sora said. They saw what look like a temple, and a statue that resembles a woman holding a scepter. It looked like it's surrounded by clouds. "We haven't been there yet."
"Let's go and seal the Keyhole there," Kairi said.
The Gummi shop heads right for the world and landed in the world. The couple and their partners entered the world, but what looks like the underworld.
"Did I make a wrong turn or something?" Sora asked as he looked around.
"How far did we go down?" Kairi asked.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Well, we're already here, so we might as well look for the Keyhole and get going. And I hope it'll be easier to find this time," Sora said.
"Me too. But we should stay together, because we don't know what kind of Heartless could be lurking around here," Kairi suggested.
"Good idea. We could end up in trouble if we got lost. And Ganondorf will have a nasty surprise waiting for us," Sora said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel started their mission to search for the Keyhole in the new world.
Meanwhile, up above in the sky, Giovanni stood with a humanoid woman with purple-gray skin, lavender eyes, scaly arms, and a black tattoo over her left eye. Her long, black hair has several teal snakes mixed in, with a single orange snake on the left side of her head. She wears a long, dark purple dress that blends into red at the bottom, with gold trimmings throughout and gold ornaments. She wields a two-pronged gold and blue staff with two snakes wrapped around it.
"You're having trouble with a couple of human children? How pitiful," the woman said.
"They're more than just children, I can assure you, Lady Medusa. The Heartless we've provided for you shall help you find the Keyhole before they do," Giovanni said.
"What makes you certain that they would come here?" Medusa asked.
"Trust me, they will most certainly be here, I can assure you," Giovanni said.
Back in the underworld, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel were wondering round what looks like a dungeon.
Just then, a bunch of Heartless appeared before them. The Heartless consisted of Shadows, Soldiers, Bad Dogs, Trick Ghosts, Wright Knights, Gargoyles, and Doberman Punishers.
"Heartless, I knew it!" Kairi exclaimed, summoning her Keyblade.
"You called it," Sora said.
The couple and their partners engaged the Heartless as they came at them. The Doberman Punishers lunged at Pikachu, but he fired Thunderbolt, shocking the doberman-like Heartless, destroying it. A Bad Dog jumped at Sora to bite him, but Kairi quickly fired a blizzard spell at the dog-like Heartless, taking it out. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel fought off the Heartless until the last Shadow was destroyed by Sora.
"That was awesome?" A voice asked from one of the cells. They turned to see a young, Putto-like angel. He has the appearance of a thirteen year old boy. He has large, blue eyes and fluffy, brown hair, with a small cowlick poking out from the back. His chiton is decorated with red and gold hems along the bottom, which is fastened on the shoulder by a golden fibula with a red gem in the center. He wears the outfit with a brown belt lined with silver and a gold, triangular buckle on his waist. He also wears navy blue tights beneath his chiton. The angel now has a pair of bronze and gold cuffs around his forearms, and singular gold rings on his upper left arm and right thigh. His brown sandals are decorated with crossing beige bands, and are edged at the top with white wool. He's seen standing at the cell and he was watching the fight closely. "Did Lady Palutena send you?"
"Who?" Sora asked.
"Lady Palutena. As in the Goddess of Light, the ruler of Skyworld, what planet are you guys from?" The angel asked.
"We have no idea who she is, but we were just in the neighborhood, and we were attacked by those things," Sora said.
"Where are we anyway?" Kairi asked.
"You're in the Underworld. This is Medusa's base of operations. She's the Goddess of Darkness. She's the reason I'm in here," the angel said.
"How did you end up in there in the first place?" Sora asked.
"Pika?" Pikachu asked.
"It's like this. It started like any other day, but then out of the blue, and without warning, the Underworld Army attacked and captured every angel that they saw, even me. I tried to fight back, but some of those yellow-eyed goons caught me by surprise and I ended up being caught," the angel explained.
"But, couldn't you have fly away?" Kairi asked. The angel winced.
"Um, the thing is, um...it's kinda embarrassing," the angel said.
"What?" Sora asked.
"I can't fly," the angel said. Sora just looked at him funny.
"You can't fly? What kind of angel are you if you can't fly?" Sora asked.
"If you're going to make fun of me, you might as well get on with it. I'm used to it. I suggest you call me 'weak wings' or 'no-fly boy'. Take your pick," the angel said.
"Sorry, it just took me by surprise," Sora said.
"Besides, it wouldn't be right to tease you," Kairi said. The angel just smiled.
"You guys are the best. Oh, the name's Pit," the angel finally introduced himself.
"I'm Sora, and this is Pikachu," Sora introduced.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said.
"I'm Kairi, and this is Angel," Kairi introduced.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Good to know you, Sora, Kairi," Pit said.
"Say, you know how to get out of here?" Sora asked.
"You might want to go to the surface, but the path is crawling with Underworld monsters," Pit said.
"Well, Kairi and I faced our share of monsters, just like the ones you saw us take down," Sora said.
"After seeing you in action, I don't doubt it," Pit said.
"But we could use your help getting out, Pit," Sora said. Pit just looked at him.
"You're willing to help me out? You don't even know me," Pit pointed out.
"Maybe, but we can't just leave you in there," Kairi said.
"You'll need the key to open the cell, and none of those guards will be willing to share those with you," Pit said.
"We have a different key for the job," Sora said. He summoned his Keyblade and he aimed at the cell's keyhole and unlocked the cell. The cell door just opened with ease, much to Pit's amazement.
"Very cool," Pit said. He stepped out of the cell.
"Good to see that you're free, Pit," a woman's voice spoke. Pit looked around.
"Lady Palutena, is that you? Are you alright?" Pit asked. Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel just looked at him. It was obvious they couldn't hear her.
"I'm fine, Pit. Listen to me. The Underworld Army is searching for the world's Keyhole. When they get ahold of it, then this world will be doomed. You can't let that happen," Palutena said.
"I don't know what you're talking about, but I'll do it!" Pit said.
"Not by yourself you won't. Medusa has an arsenal of Heartless helping her out, but the wielders of the Keyblade will be helping you out," Palutena said.
"The Heartless?" Pit asked.
"They're creatures that was created from the darkness in every heart. The Keyblade is the one weapon they're afraid of. Your two new friends are looking for the Keyhole to keep it out of their hands," Palutena said.
"But how am I going to find it?" Pit asked.
"The Keyhole is somewhere in my palace here in Skyworld. But Medusa doesn't know that...yet. So you have to hurry and get here, and you'll need this," Palutena said, giving Pit a bow that is made up of two gold blades. He broke the bow into two swords. The blades contain blue accents. He puts the swords back together as a bow. It possesses a brown handle, a red emblem that attaches to the back of the user's hand, and two halos that wrap around the user's forearm. "The Palutena Bow will be your weapon of choice."
"This is great, Lady Palutena. I'll put it to good use," Pit said.
"I know you will. But to defeat Medusa you'll need the Three Sacred Treasures. One of Medusa's followers is in the Underworld, guarding one of the treasures as we speak. And that is all I can do for you, Pit. The rest will be up to you and your friends," Palutena said to Pit.
"Lady Paultena? Hello? You there?" Pit asked.
"Pit?" Sora asked. Pit just looked at the couple. "Any special reason you were just talking to yourself?"
"Talking to myself? I was talking to Lady Palutena. She just told me that the Keyhole is in her palace. Medusa and her goons are looking for it," Pit said.
"Pautena's palace?" Sora asked.
"How were you abe to talk to her?" Kairi asked.
"Eevee," Angel nodded.
"She talked to me through her telepathy. So if we're going to defet Medusa, we'll need to get a hold of the Three Sacred Treasures," Pit said.
"The Three Sacred Treasures?" Kairi asked.
"The Arrows of Light, the Mirror Shield, and the wings of Pegasus. One of Medusa's flunkies is here in the Underworld, and he has one of the sacred treasures," Pit said.
"Was Paultena the one who gave you that bow?" Sora asked.
"Yeah. I think she used up some of her powers to do it. We'll head up to Skyworld and rescue Lady Palutena," Pit said.
"I think if we're going to do that, we'll have to head up to the surface after we get one of the Sacred Treasures she talked about," Sora said.
"Did she say which one of them is in the Underworld?" Kairi asked.
"No. And there's also good news. Medusa doesn't know that the Keyhole is in her palace yet," Pit said.
"That narrows down our search," Sora said.
"But we should hurry and find it before Medusa figures it out," Kairi said.
"You're right. Pit, let's get started," Sora said.
"I'm right with you," Pit said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Pit, Pikachu, and Angel got started on their mission to reach Skyworld, save Palutena, and seal the world's Keyhole just so the Heartless will not destroy it. Just when they were taking off, they're suddenly greeted by a bunch of hey are small, blue, fanged serpents with pink underbellies. The creatures has small feathered wings on their sides. These creatures are known as Shemums. The singed serpents rushed over towards Sora, Kairi, Pit, Pikachu, and Angel to attack them.
"What are those things?" Sora asked.
"They're Shemums! They're part of the Underworld Army, and they're very poisonous! Don't let them bite you!" Pit said, firing his light arrows at the winged serpents and struck them. Sora and Kairi held their Keyblades and struck the Shemums on the spot.
Just then, some monsters came flying down at them. The monsters are pink, round monster with a single blue eye and multiple tentacles protruding from its backside. These creatures are known as Monoeyes.
"More monsters coming!" Sora said.
"Those are Monoeyes!" Pit said as he took the bow and turned them into swords. Sora, Kairi, and Pit readied themselves as they struck down the one-eyed monsters. Their tentacles turned orange and they fired some plasma energy from their singular eyes. Kairi casts her reflect spell and they bounced off. Sora, Pikachu, and Angel jumped and attacked the Monoeyes.
The Monoeyes were quickly beaten, but just then a bunch of Air Soldiers, Red Nocturnes, Blue Rhapsodies, Yellow Operas, Green Requiems, Hook Bats, Search Ghosts, Trick Ghosts, Gargoyles, and Darkballs appeared.
"Heartless!" Kairi said.
"Take them down!" Pit said.
Sora, Kairi, Pit, Pikachu, and Angel engaged the Heartless and the Monoeyes as they appeared. Pikachu fired a Thunderbolt at the Heartless and the Monoeyes. The Yellow Operas and Green Requiem absorbed Pikachu's Thunderbolt. Some of the Heartless were destroyed. Angel fired Swift and destroyed the Yellow Operas and Green Requiems. More Heartless appeared all around.
"There's too many!" Kairi said.
"Let's bolt!" Sora said.
"Pika!" Pikachu agreed.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
Sora, Kairi, Pit, Pikachu, and Angel started to run from the Monoeyes and the Heartless as they gave chase. They got far enough from the Heartless, and they stopped to catch their breath.
"Heartless everywhere we look. Not only Heartless, but other monsters, too," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Medusa wasn't going to make it easy for us, Sora," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"She's right, Sora. Medusa never makes anything easy," Pit said.
"Why is Medusa doing this, Pit?" Kairi asked.
"It goes like this. It was some years ago. Lady Palutena and Medusa once ruled Angel Land together. Lady Palutena fostered her love for humans, but Medusa hated them. She hated humans so much, she made life miserable for the humans, she did all sort of things like making their crops dry up and petrify them. Lady Palutena couldn't let her have her way, so she was banished into the Underworld as a punishment for her actions. Since then, she swore she'll get even for it and overthrow Lady Palutena and retake the Palace in the Sky for herself," Pit explained.
"Man, and I thought Clockwerk was hateful," Sora said.
"The Keyhole is right in there, right?" Kairi asked.
"That's right. That's what Lady Palutena said," Pit said.
"Well, we'll have to hurry and find it fast," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Pit, Pikachu, and Angel got out of hiding and proceeded to get out of the Underworld and retrieve the first Sacred Treasure.
Ahead of them is a magenta-skinned monster with large, pink lips and a single green eye. The creature wore a blue robe that is accompanied by brown and green accessories. It wields a wooden staff with an eggplant charm attached to it.
"Uh-oh. Problem," Pit said.
"What's that thing?" Sora asked.
"An Eggplant Wizard," Pit said.
"Eggplant Wizard?" Sora asked.
"Seems appropriate," Kairi said.
"Eggplant Wizards might seem funny, but it's not funny when they turn you into an eggplant," Pit said.
"They turn you into an eggplant? What are the magic words? Lettuce is green, tomatoes are red, turn me into a salad head?" Sora joked.
"Don't say I didn't warn you," Pit said.
"We gotta get past him," Kairi said.
"Good idea. Let's go," Sora said. Sora, Kairi, Pit, Pikachu, and Angel snuck to get past the Eggplant Wuzard, but a creature noticed them. It appears as a pink, nose-shaped monster with purple pupils that resemble glasses which has green and yellow frames, and thin blue and purple tendrils hanging from its underside. It has yellow bumps that resemble blemishes on the tip of its nose. This creature is a Specknose. It attacks them. Pit shot an arrow at the Specknose, taking it out, but the Eggplant Wizard noticed them and attacked.
"Where do you think you're going?" The Eggplant Wizard asked, summoning an eggplant. He threw the eggplant at Sora, Kairi, Pit, Pikachu, and Angel. They kept on dodging, and the Eggplant Wizard kept on throwing eggplants. Sora and Pit got hit by the eggplants and turned into eggplants with legs.
"Hey! I turned into an eggplant!" Sora exclaimed as he ran around.
"I told you so!" Pit exclaimed.
"Sora!" Kairi gasped. She turned to the Eggplant Wizard as he kept throwing eggplants at her. Kairi dodged the wizard's eggplants and she summoned her Destiny's Embrace and ran towards him. The Eggplant Wizard kept on throwing eggplants at her, but she kept on dodging and then she made it towards him. She brought her Keyblade down, but the Eggplant Wizard blocked with his staff. Kairi casts her fire spell, hitting him. She gave the Eggplant Wizard a swing with her Keyblade and took out the Eggplant Wizard and changed Sora and Pit back. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, thanks to you," Pit said.
"If we stayed eggplants for long, then we would have been put into a salad," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"If it makes you feel better, I'm taking eggplant off the menu, Sora," Kairi said.
"That'll be great," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
A little while later, Sora, Kairi, Pit, Pikachu, and Angel continued to fight their way through the Underworld to find the entrance against Heartless and Underworld monsters that got in their way.
The Heartless consisted of Shadows, Soldiers, Armored Knights, Bad Dogs, Trick Ghosts, Wright Knights, Gargoyles, Doberman Punishers, and some new Heartless.
One of the new Heartless is a dark purple imp-like Heartless, with small horns and a pointy devil's end at the tail. It has small demonic wings and it's holding a pitchfork. It has the Heartless emblem on its chest. These Heartless shall be known as the Imp.
Another is a Heartless that appears to be a minotaur. It has large horns and a grayish nose ring. It has black hind legs to match its hooves. It's also carrying a large axe. This Heartless shall be known as the Minotaur.
Another is a larger form of the Gargoyle, but it has large biceps, and it's clad in light blue, with bright green sleeves, the blue gradating to a pale pink on the top of the heads and horns, and flame-like orange and yellow wings, while their feet are black. These shall he known as the Hi-Gargoyle.
Among the Underworld monsters are is a chubby, hunched-over devil with a single eye, claws and fangs, and a pair of vestigial wings. They both come in red and blue. These are known as Kobils.
Another is a squid-like monster that is primarily orange with red accents, and it possesses additional tentacles, two of which are longer from the rest. This creature is a Commyloose.
Another is a different form of Monoeye, or perhaps even the living skeletal remains of them. They retain their massive single eye, but seemingly evolve a functional jawbone. This creature is known as the Ganewmede.
Another is is a lava like-like creature. It is relatively large for a gout of molten rock with a pair of hateful yellow eyes. This creature is known as the McGoo.
Another is a pink, slug-like monster with two arms. It possesses a single green eye and tan underbelly. This creature is known as the Nettler.
is a flat, blue metal square with a red border with engravings that form into a circle instead of just the blue square. This is the Monolith.
"What's the plan, Pit?" Sora asked.
"Take them out!" Pit said.
"Right!" Sora and Kairi agreed with the plan.
Sora, Kairi, Pit, Pikachu, and Angel fought off the Heartless and the Underworld Army have engaged them. The Nettlers fired their bubbles at their opponents as the Ganewmedes threw spiked balls at them. Kairi casts a zero gravity spell on them, making them float up in the air as Sora and Pit struck them down. The McGoos spews lava at the angel, Keyblade wielders, and Pokémon, so Pikachu shocked them with a Thunderbolt as Angel fired Swift, hitting them. The Hi-Gargoyles came at the couple, but Sora managed to strike it down with his Keyblade, destroying it. The fight went on right until the last of the Heartless and the Underworld monsters were defeated.
"Let's go," Pit said. He leads forward towards the entrance to the Underworld.
Walking in their path is an animate skeleton with a dark blue and white robe with a faded red collar. Its scythe now has a more jagged handle, while the blade has a red, blood splatter-like design on it. In addition, it possesses blank yellow eyes, and red, hair-like tendrils on its head. Once it notices Sora, Kairi, Pit, Pikachu, and Angel the tendrils on its head spread out and stiffen, and its yellow eyes begin to bulge. Sora and Kairi summoned their Keyblades to engage it.
"Who and what is that?" Sora asked.
"A Reaper!" Pit exclaimed.
"A Reaper?" Sora asked.
"Reapers are messengers of death. Their job is to escort souls right to the Underworld when someone dies. But in this case, they're lookouts for the Underworld Army. But Reapers aren't the only thing to worry about," Pit explained.
"What else is there?" Kairi asked.
Kairi did get her answer when small skeletons came to the Reaper's side. The Reaper's minions are small, wisp-like skeletons wearing green cloaks and possesses blank yellow eyes. Their scythes has a jagged handle, and their blades appears red, which matches the three tendrils on their heads.
"Yeah, it's those!" Pit said, pointing at the miniature skeletons.
"And those would be?" Sora asked.
"Reapettes. That's what they are," Pit said. He fires his light arrows at the Reapettes. "Take them out because if any one of them touches you, then you'll end up getting paralyzed!"
Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel attacked the Reapettes by using Thunderbolt, Swift, and magic to take them out. The Reaper ran towards them and swung its syche at them, but Sora blocked with his Keyblade and pushed it back. Pit fired a light arrow at the Reaper, taking it out.
"Well, that takes care of the Reaper," Sora said.
"For right now. We're almost near the gates of the Underworld," Pit said. He leads the couple forward.
Just when they were close to escaping the Underworld and retrieve the first Sacred Treasure, they noticed that there are statues all around.
"What's with the statues, Pit?" Kairi asked.
"Those statues are Centurions. They're Lady Palutena's loyal soldiers. They were brought here as statues after Medusa turned them to stone. One of her flunkies should be around here, trying to stop us," Pit said. They heard a growling sound not too far from them. Sora and Kairi both summoned their Keyblades and held them tight. They looked around for what it could be. What it was is a large monstrous creature. It appears as a dark red two-headed dog with flames engulfing its body. It has a large metal brace with a broken chain attached to its left paw, with similar-looking spiked collars around its necks. In addition, It has a large bone structure protruding from its back, with funnel-like spouts that shoot flames running along its spine. "Twinbellows! The guard dog of the Underworld Army and their gatekeeper! I had a feeling this mutt was placed here to keep us in!"
Twinbellows spews flames at Sora, Kairi, Pit, Pikachu, and Angel, but they managed to dodge for the most part. Pit fired arrows of light at the demonic guard dog. Sora and Kairi came at Twinbellows and attempts to strike at them, but Twinbellows bit at them and swung its flaming tail at them. Sora rolls as Kairi cartwheels out of the way. Pit kept firing his arrows of light at Twinbellows as Pikachu and Angel attacked with a Thunderbolt and Swift combo. Twinbellows lunged at them with its claws and fired smaller fireballs at them. Kairi casts her reflect spell to block it as Sora guards with his Keyblade. Pit keeps on firing at Twinbellows as it lunged at Pit again. Sora and Pikachu came at Twinbellows and struck the two-headed demonic dog at both of its heads. Pit rushes at Twinbellows and aimed his arrow of light at Twinbellows.
"Go, Pit!" Sora shouted.
"Play dead!" Pit shouted as he fired one more light arrow and struck Twinbellows, defeating it. Twinbellows howls as it is engulfed in flames and vanished. The gates to the Underworld has opened and the first Sacred Treasure appeared in a chest. "Yes! The first Sacred Treasure!"
"What do you think it is, Pit?" Sora asked.
"It could be any one of them, but for now, we should head on up and make our way towards the Sky World.
Over to Medusa, she's sitting in Palutena's throne when a being resembles a genie with green skin, puffy red eyes, and a large blue-lipped mouth, with a single fang protruding from the right side. He stands at a height of around 10'10" (330 cm[1]), and he has an angular red gem embedded into his stomach, with cracks branching out from it on the surrounding skin. He also has a short, stubby nose and a skull ornament tied into his blond hair. He wore a magenta-colored scarf and a pair of large, yellow and red striped trousers. In addition, the armor on his shoulders appears to be covered with various branch-like structures that have jewelry hanging from them.
"Lady Medusa! Lady Medusa!" The being exclaimed.
"What is it, Thanatos?" Medusa asked.
"It's Twinbellows! The wielders of the Keyblade have defeated Twinbellows and they have an angel with them! They just stepped out of the Underworld and they have one of the Three Sacred Treasures with them," Thanatos reported.
"Giovanni was right. They're here!" Medusa said. She chuckled evilly. "And they're on their way. The only way they'll get up here is when they get past Hewdraw, and that isn't going to be easy."
"Ooh, Hewdraw will be sure to make a meal out of them, provided if he keeps his personality in order," Thanatos said.
"Of course. Even if they do, they still have the entire Underworld Army to contend with," Medusa said, chuckling evilly.
