Disclaimer: I don't own Doctor Who that goes to the BBC
On a planet that looked like it had a post-apocalyptic landscape with destroyed and corroded buildings from a war, a woman with light skin, brown eyes and ginger-brown hair with a cloaked hood over her head named Darla was standing inside one of the buildings, which was shaped like a Dalek and was standing in what looked like an eyestalk of a Dalek.
"First there were the Daleks," Darla said, "And then there was a man who fought them. When he fought them the first time, he was without his lover, who he thought died before they reunited after he fought in a war that didn't just threaten his people, but the entire fabric of time and space itself. And then, in time, they died."
Two people were walking through the halls of the building, one male and the other female as there was a fire burning behind them.
"There are a few, of course, who believe this man and woman somehow survived and that one day they will return," Darla went on, "For both our sakes, dearest Hannah, we must hope these stories are true."
There was a silhouette on the wall of the two people that were walking through the Dalek-shaped building, who were none other than the Doctor and Rose. Darla then turned from the eyestalk-shaped window as she heard their approach.
"I got your message. Not many people can do that, send us messages," the Doctor told her.
"Now that we're here, what'd you want?" Rose asked her.
"I have a daughter, Hannah. She's in a Dalek prison camp," Darla answered, "They say you can help."
"Do they? I wish they'd stop," the Doctor muttered as he walked towards the window, "Hell of a choice of meeting place."
"I agree, I wish they'd stop as well, we've slowly been deleting every mention of us in recorded history," Rose stated, agreeing with her husband as she walked towards the eyestalk-shaped window as well.
"They said I'd have to intrigue the two of you," Darla told both Gallifreyans.
"Skaro. The original planet of the Daleks," the Doctor said as he looked at the planet's ruined landscape and saw that it was raining, "Look at the state of it."
"And this planet somehow survived getting destroyed by the Hand of Omega when my husband here tampered with it to destroy Skaro's sun rather than on our home planet of Gallifrey when the creator of the Daleks, Davros used it," Rose muttered to herself with disbelief, "Amazing."
"Who told you about us?" The Doctor asked Darla as he turned towards her.
"Does it matter?" Darla asked him.
"Maybe not. But you're very well informed," the Doctor stated as he walked towards her and lowered her hood before he walked away from her, "If Hannah's in a Dalek prison camp, tell me, why aren't you?"
"I escaped," Darla answered.
"No, you didn't," Rose told her as she chuckled.
"My wife's correct, you didn't escape, cos nobody escapes the Dalek camps," the Doctor said, agreeing with Rose as he chuckled, mirthlessly before he gripped her hand, "You're very cold." He then put a hand to her cheek before nervously looking around the area.
"Your skin… it's not just cold, it's lifeless," Rose observed, her voice barely above a whisper as she touched her skin with her hand as well before pulling her hand back, her eyes meeting her husband's, "Something's not right here, Doctor."
"What's wrong?" Darla asked them.
"It's a trap," the Doctor explained.
"What is?" Darla asked them.
"You are and you don't even know it," the Doctor explained.
"You're not just a messenger or a victim in this. You're the bait," Rose said, her voice filled with a mix of sympathy and regret. "The Daleks used you to lure us here. They turned you into a trap without you even realising it. Worse still, they've transformed you into a Dalek puppet, controlling your actions without your knowledge."
The Doctor and Rose both backed away from Darla. Her head jerked with a crack as a Dalek's eyestalk sprouted from her forehead. She then raised her right hand and a Dalek ray gun extended from her palm. She then fired it at the Doctor, causing him to fall backwards on the floor with a scream before she aimed it at Rose, causing her to fall backwards onto the floor as she screamed as well. Darla then walked away as a Dalek ship hovered outside the eyestalk-shaped window of the Dalek-shaped building.
"The Doctor and Rose Smith are acquired!" a Dalek from the Dalek ship announced.
Meanwhile on Earth at a Photoshoot, Amy was all glammed up with her hair frizzed and wild. Her left hand had the word 'HATE' written on it and the word 'LOVE' on her right hand with pop music playing in the background. She then changed to a tight tunic/dress over tights with boots and a leather jacket and stood on a stairwell. A PA with light skin, brown eyes and hair, wearing a red, white and blue plaid dress shirt and cardigan suddenly entered the room and waved for her attention.
"I'll just be a minute," Amy said as she looked at the PA before the cameramen stopped taking photos of her as she slid down the bannister and walked over to the PA.
"Um, your husband is here," the PA stated.
"Hmm. I don't have a husband," Amy stated as they walked down a hallway.
"Oh, well, apparently you still do," the PA stated before she entered a makeup room at the end of the hall and saw Rory sitting in one of the chairs as she sighed.
"You have to sign these," Rory said as he exhaled and held up papers with his left hand.
"And then we're not married?" Amy asked him as she walked over to him and took the papers from him.
"Just like magic," Rory muttered as Amy signed the papers.
"Can't chat, working," Amy told him.
"Really? Thought you were just pouting at a camera," Rory remarked, sarcastically as he took the papers back from her and stood back up as he walked towards the door.
"Rory…" Amy began to say as she looked at him as a makeup girl with tan skin, brown eyes and hair entered the room with Rory dodging her as he left the room as unbeknownst to everyone, the lights on one of the makeup mirrors flickered and buzzed as she watched him leave.
"Sorry, love, was I interrupting?" The makeup girl asked her as she approached Amy.
"No," Amy answered.
"Gosh look at you, you've gone so pale," the makeup girl told her, "Come on. Take a seat. We'll soon sort that out."
Amy then sat down on one of the seats in the room when the makeup girl's head dropped to her chest as her neck suddenly cracked before she turned as a Dalek's eyestalk suddenly sprouted from her head, revealing that she was also a Dalek puppet.
"Amelia Pond is acquired!" a Dalek's voice announced as a Dalek's ray gun extended from her palm and fired it at her.
As Rory left the building that Amy was taking her photoshoot at, he approached a bus with its doors sliding open with a hiss before he entered the bus and climbed up its steps.
"Cheers," Rory muttered as he walked past the bus driver, who had light skin, blue eyes and grey hair.
Rory then took a seat on the empty bus and looked down at the signed papers and shook his head before he suddenly heard a squelching sound from the bus as his neck cracked and looked up to see a Dalek's eyestalk reflected in the bus's rearview mirror, revealing that he was also a Dalek puppet.
"Rory Williams is acquired!" A Dalek voice announced as a bright light flashed through the bus before a Dalek's ray gun was fired at him as well.
A while later, Rory suddenly regained consciousness as he was lying on a white coloured floor in a white room before he sat up and gasped as he looked to his left and saw Amy standing there with her arms crossed.
"Where are we?" Rory asked her.
Amy jerked her head before Rory stood up and ran over to the only window in the room and saw over a dozen Dalek spaceships outside as she lowered her arms.
"So how much trouble are we in?" Rory asked her when a door suddenly slid open, causing them to turn towards it as a Time War bronze variant Dalek entered the room with the Doctor and Rose following the Dalek.
"How much trouble, Mr. Pond?" The Doctor said, rhetorically as he entered the room with another Time War variant Dalek following him and Rose, "Out of ten? Eleven point five."
The ceiling above them then suddenly slid open in a circular pattern, causing them all to look up at it and down at the floor as the floor rose upwards towards the ceiling. The floor soon stopped rising upwards as they found themselves in an auditorium surrounded by thousands of Daleks of different ranks.
Most of the Daleks were of the Time War bronze variant and the Paradigm variant. The Paradigm variants were Strategists and Supreme. The TARDIS was inside the auditorium nearby and in front of a few of the Daleks. On a pedestal behind them was a Dalek out of its casing and inside some sort of glass tube.
"Where are we? Spaceship, right?" Amy asked both Gallifreyans.
"Not just any spaceship," the Doctor told her, "The Parliament of the Daleks."
"We've heard of this place many times," Rose added, "But we never actually thought that we'd ever be here."
"Be brave," the Doctor urged Amy.
"What do we do?" Amy asked them.
"Make them remember you," the Doctor answered, "Well come on then. You've got us! What are you waiting for? At long last, it's Christmas!" He then held his arms out, "Here I am!" He then closed his eyes.
"Christmas indeed," Rose said, her voice laced with irony, "Surrounded by Daleks, in their Parliament, no less. If this is their idea of a holiday party, I'd hate to see what they do for New Year's."
"Save us," the Dalek in the glass casing pleaded with the Gallifreyan couple, causing the Doctor to crack his right eye open, "You will both save us."
"We'll what?" The Doctor asked the Dalek in the glass casing as he opened his left eye as well and lowered his arms as he turned towards it.
"You will both save the Daleks," the Dalek in the glass casing explained.
"Save the Daleks! Save the Daleks! Save the Daleks!" The other Daleks in the parliament chanted, "Save the Daleks! Save the Daleks! Save the Daleks!"
"Save the Daleks?" Rose repeated, her voice filled with disbelief, "Never thought I'd hear that. But then again, with the Daleks, you learn to expect the unexpected."
"Well, this is new," the Doctor stated with his voice having the same confusion in it that Rose had.
A while later, the Doctor was pacing around the room as the Daleks swivelled their eyestalks around as they watched him.
"What's he doing?" Rory asked Rose and Amy as he stared at the Time Lord.
"He's chosen the most defendable area in the room, counted all the Daleks, counted all the exits and now he's calculating the exact distance we're standing apart and starting to worry," Amy said, speaking in the third-person before Darla appeared nearby, "Oh, and look at him frowning now. Something's wrong with Amy and Rory, and who's going to fix it?" The Time Lord then suddenly straightened his bow tie, "And he straightens his bow tie."
"Always thinking, always planning, that's the Doctor for you," Rose said, her voice filled with affection, "And he's worrying about you two. Something's off, isn't it?" She glanced at Amy and Rory, her gaze understanding. "You're usually in sync, but now… it's different."
"We have arrived," the Dalek in the glass casing announced.
"Arrived where?" The Doctor asked the Dalek in the glass casing.
"Yeah, where have you brought us?" Rose said, agreeing with her husband.
"Doctor… Rose…" The Dalek in the glass casing called out to both Gallifreyans.
"The Prime Minister will speak with you both now," Darla said as she looked at both Gallifreyans.
The Doctor then began to walk towards the Dalek in the glass casing, who was the Prime Minister with Rose following him before stopping when they were even with Darla.
"Do you remember who you were, before they emptied you out and turned you into their puppet?" The Doctor asked Darla in a hushed tone.
"My memories are only reactivated if they are required to facilitate deep cover or disguise," Darla explained.
"You had a daughter," the Doctor told her.
"And you were more than just a puppet, Darla," Rose said, her voice soft yet firm. "You had a life, a family. You were a person, not a tool for the Daleks to use."
"I know. I've read my file," Darla told them.
"But reading a file isn't the same as living a life, is it?" Rose asked, her gaze steady, "You're more than just words on a page, Darla. You're more than what the Daleks made you."
Darla didn't respond to the Time Lady's question as she motioned them with her left hand for them to continue on to the Prime Minister. After a slight hesitation, the Doctor and Rose both walked up the ramp and stood in front of the Prime Minister.
"Well?" The Doctor muttered as he and Rose stared at the Dalek.
"Quite the welcoming committee," Rose remarked, her gaze sweeping over the Daleks surrounding them, "Never thought I'd see the day when we'd be standing in front of the Dalek Parliament."
"What do you both know of the Dalek Asylum?" The Prime Minister asked them.
"According to legend, you have a dumping ground. A planet where you lock up all the Daleks that go wrong," the Doctor answered, "The battle-scarred, the insane. The ones even you can't control. Which never made any sense to me…" He then turned away from the Prime Minister.
"Because if there's one thing we've learned about Daleks, it's that you don't have compassion," Rose said, her voice echoing in the silence. "You don't care about your own, let alone anyone else. So, a Dalek Asylum? That's not just out of character. It's practically a paradox."
"Why not, Doctor?" The Prime Minister asked the Time Lord.
"Because you'd just kill them," the Doctor answered.
"It is offensive to us to extinguish such divine hatred," the Prime Minister explained.
"Offensive?" The Doctor repeated with disbelief as he turned back towards the Dalek.
"Does it surprise you both to know the Daleks have a concept of beauty?" The Prime Minister asked both Gallifreyans.
"Beauty? In hatred?" Rose asked, her voice filled with incredulity, "That's not beauty, that's monstrosity. Beauty lies in love, in compassion, in unity. Not in destruction and hatred."
"I thought you'd run out of ways to make me sick, but hello again" the Doctor said as he bent down to be face-to-face with the Prime Minister, "You think hatred is beautiful?"
"Perhaps that is why we have never been able to kill either of you," the Prime Minister suggested as the Doctor walked away from them with Rose.
Both Gallifreyans stopped at the Dalek Prime Minister's comment as the floor underneath Amy and Rory slid open to reveal a view of the planet below them before they peered at the planet from a distance as the Doctor and Rose joined them, followed by Darla.
"The Asylum," Darla told them, "It occupies the entire planet. Right to the core."
"How many Daleks are in there?" The Doctor asked her.
"A count has not been made," Darla answered, "Millions, certainly."
"All still alive?" The Doctor asked her.
"It has to be assumed," Darla answered, "The Asylum is fully automated. Supervision is not required."
"Are all the Daleks in the Asylum veterans from your various wars?" Rose asked her, "Is this where you send those who have been scarred and driven mad by the horrors of battle?"
"Most probably are," Darla answered.
"Armed?" Amy asked her.
"The Daleks are always armed," Darla answered.
"What colour?" Rory asked her, causing them to all look at him with disbelief, "Sorry. There weren't any good questions left."
"This signal is being received from the very heart of the Asylum," Darla stated when they all suddenly heard Bitzet's Carmen opera song playing from the speakers in the parliament, causing the Doctor to act like he was in there with the music.
"What is the noise?" The Paradigm Dalek Supreme asked, "Explain! Explain!"
"It's me," the Doctor answered as he began to pretend to play the triangle as he made gestures of playing the instrument with his hands as they all looked at him with disbelief.
"Sorry, what?" Rory asked him.
"It's me. Playing the triangle," the Doctor explained as he laughed before he lowered his arms, "Okay, I got buried in the mix." He then walked towards the transmitter as he pulled out his sonic screwdriver, "Carmen! Lovely show."
He then used his sonic screwdriver on it before he flicked it open and looked at it.
"Someone's transmitting this," the Doctor stated as he closed his sonic screwdriver back up and put it away, "Have you considered tracking back the signal and talking to them?" All he got was silence from them, "He asked the Daleks." He then answered the transmitter, "Hello? Hello, Carmen? Hello?"
"Hello?" They heard a young feminine voice reply from the transmitter.
"Come in, come in, come in, Carmen," the Doctor said, contacting the woman with the transmitter.
"Hello, yes, yes, sorry, do you read me?" The young woman asked him.
"Yes, reading you loud and clear," the Doctor answered, "Identify yourself and report your status."
"Hello! Are you real?" The young woman asked him, "Are you actually, properly real?"
"Yep, confirmed, actually properly real," the Doctor answered.
"Oswin Oswald, Junior Entertainment Manager, Starship Alaska," the young woman said, introducing herself to the Time Lord, "Current status, crashed and shipwrecked somewhere... not nice. Been here a year, rest of the crew missing. Provisions good, but keen to move on."
"A year? Are you OK?" The Doctor asked her, "Are you...under attack?"
"Some local life-forms," Oswin answered, "I've been keeping them out."
"Do you know what those life-forms are?" The Doctor asked her.
"I know a Dalek when I hear one, yeah," Oswin answered.
"What have you been doing, on your own, against the Daleks for a year?" The Doctor asked her.
"Making soufflés," Oswin answered.
"Soufflés? Against the Daleks?" The Doctor asked as he chuckled and looked at the Paradigm Dalek Supreme behind him, "Where do you get the milk?"
"This conversation is irrelevant," the Paradigm Dalek Supreme told him.
"No, it isn't!" The Doctor argued.
"No, hello... hello!" They heard Oswin say as the signal to her starliner went static.
"Because a Starliner has crashed into your Asylum, and someone's got in," the Doctor went on, "And if someone can get in, then everything can get out... a tsunami of insane Daleks. Even you don't want that."
"The Asylum must be cleansed," the Paradigm Dalek Supreme stated.
"Then why is it still here?" The Doctor asked the Dalek, "You've got enough firepower on this ship, to blast it out of the sky."
"The Asylum force field is impenetrable," Darla explained.
"Turn it off," the Doctor told her.
"It can only be turned off from within the Asylum," Dalra explained.
"A small task force could sneak through a force field," the Doctor said as he headed back down the ramp, "Send in a couple of Daleks." He then stopped as he realised why the Daleks didn't want to do what he suggested, "Oh!" He then applauded them as he clapped his hands, "Oh, that's good. That's brilliant. You're all too scared to go down there! Not one of you will go, so tell me. What do the Daleks do when they're too scared?"
"What he said, what do you do when you're scared?" Rose asked the Daleks as she walked next to her husband.
"The Predators of the Daleks will be deployed," the Paradigm Supreme Dalek stated.
"You don't have predators," the Doctor told them, "And even if you did, why would they turn off a force field for you?"
"Because you both will have no other means of escape," the Prime Minister explained.
"May I clarify?" Darla asked both Gallifreyans, "The Predators are the Daleks' word for the two of you."
"Us?! Us?!" The Doctor said with disbelief in his voice.
"Us, the predators?" Rose repeated, her voice filled with disbelief, "That's a new one. So, we're the ones you're sending into your Asylum, into the heart of madness. And you expect us to just go along with this?"
"You'll both need these," Darla told both Gallifreyans, "It will protect you from the Nano-cloud."
Four male Dalek puppets then arrived and snapped two bands over the Doctor and Rose's right wrist with blue lights turning on when they were in place.
"The what? The nano-what?" The Doctor asked her.
"And what's this about a Nano-cloud?" Rose asked, her gaze sharp, "Sounds like another one of your traps."
The four men then took the Doctor and Rose by the arms and pulled them back down to where Rory and Amy were standing.
"The gravity beam will convey you close to the source of the transmission," Darla told them as a bright beam of light rushed up through the floor to the planet below, "You must find a way to deactivate the force-field from there."
"You're going to fire us at a planet?" The Doctor said with disbelief, "That's your plan? Me and my wife get fired at a planet and expected to fix it?"
"In fairness, that is slightly your MO," Rory stated as he looked at the Time Lord.
"True, we've been in some tight spots before," Rose said, a wry smile on her face, "But being fired at a planet? That's a new one, even for us."
"Don't be fair to the Daleks when they're firing me at a planet," the Doctor told him before bands are placed over Amy and Rory wrists as well, "What do you want with them?"
"Yeah, why are you placing those bands over Amy and Rory's wrists as well?" Rose said, agreeing with her husband.
"It is known that the Doctor and Rose both require companions," the Paradigm Dalek Supreme explained.
"Oh, Brilliant!" Rory muttered to himself, "Good-oh!"
"Don't worry, we'll get through this I promise," the Doctor whispered to Amy, "Don't be scared."
"Yeah, we'll be fine as long as we stay together, Amy," Rose said, agreeing with her husband.
"Scared? Who's scared?" Amy asked them, "Geronimo."
"Well then, allons-y!" Rose said with a smile on her face as the Doctor chuckled before one of the men pushed him into the beam.
"Oi!" The Doctor said as he fell through the beam before they did the same to Rose, Amy and Rose as they screamed.
As the three of them fell through the beam towards the planet, Rory was upside-down.
"Wrong way up!" Rory yelled, "Wrong way up!"
"Oh, Rassilon!" The Doctor said as they continued to travel down to the planet through the beam.
"You said it, Doctor!" Rose muttered, agreeing with her husband.
"RORY!" Amy yelled as she looked at him.
The four of them fell to the surface in different areas of the snow-covered planet. A man with dark skin, brown and black hair, wearing a suit for cold temperatures was working on a surface hatch before he looked up as he saw them fall. He then dropped his tool as he breathed heavily and ran until he found Amy lying on her back on the ground as he panted before she slowly mumbled and opened her eyes.
"Hello," the man greeted her, "Hello, who are you? Are you Okay?"
Amy gasped as she stood up and scooted away from the Man before she began looking around for both Gallifreyans and Rory.
"Rory? Doctor? Rose?" Amy said, calling the names of both Gallifreyans and Rory as she panted.
"I'm Harvey," the man told her as he introduced himself to her, "No…" Amy then walked off, "Who's Rory? Where are you going?" He then began to follow her.
In another area, a periscope with what looked like an eye from a Dalek's eyestalk popped out from the snow. It swivelled before retracting back inside the snow before it popped up a few feet away from its original location. It then repeated the process again as it found the Doctor lying on his back on the ground with Rose next to him before they lifted their heads and laughed as they looked at each other when they suddenly spotted the periscope.
"Hey! Huh?" The Doctor muttered as he stared at the periscope.
"What is that?" Rose asked as she looked at the periscope as well when they heard the Carmen opera song playing from its speakers.
"Sorry, sorry!" They heard Oswin apologise from its speakers, "Pressed the wrong switch."
"Soufflé girl?" The Doctor said with surprise.
"Oswin?" Rose muttered with shock at the same time.
"Could always call me Oswin, like she does, seeing as that's my name," Oswin told her, "You both okay?"
"How are you doing that, eh?" The Doctor asked her as he tapped on the periscope's glass, "This is Dalek technology."
"Well it's very easy to hack," Oswin answered.
"Easy for a genius, maybe," Rose said, her voice filled with admiration, "But Dalek tech isn't something you can just fiddle with."
"She's right," the Doctor said, agreeing with her as he used his sonic screwdriver on the periscope, "It isn't something easy to hack. Where are you?"
"Ship broke up when it hit. Somewhere underground, I think," Oswin answered, "You both coming to get me?"
"Doctor! Rose!" Both Gallifreyans suddenly heard Amy call their names.
"Hey!" The Doctor said as he began to lose the connection as he tapped on the periscope with his sonic screwdriver, "Oi! Soufflé girl! Come back."
"And she's gone," Rose muttered with a frown on her face. "She'll speak to us again."
"Doctor! Rose!" Both Gallifreyans suddenly heard Amy's voice call out to them again.
"Amy!" The Doctor said as he and Rose turned around saw her begin to approach them as she walked down the snowy slope next to them, only for her to lose her footing as he helped her regain her footing and stopped her from falling over as he grabbed her hands before he and Rose saw Harvey.
"Where's Rory?" The Doctor asked her.
"Yeah, where is he?" Rose said, agreeing with her husband.
"There was another beam," Harvey told them as he pointed in the distance with both of his index fingers, "There, over there." Amy, Rose and the Doctor then ran in the direction that Harvey was pointing at, "Are you the rescue team?" He then began to follow them.
"Looks like it," Rose replied, her voice steady despite the situation. "We're not leaving anyone behind."
The Doctor, Rose, Amy and Harvey soon reached a perfectly round hole in the ground that looked like a well before Amy and both Gallifreyans kneeled into the well.
"Rory?" Amy muttered before she, the Doctor and Rose kneeled into the well, Rory! RORY!"
"He's here somewhere, Amy," Rose reassured her, her gaze scanning the surroundings. "We just need to find him. And we will."
Inside the well was the Asylum with Rory inside of it, who was lying on the floor with his face down as he groaned and woke up as water dripped onto his right cheek before he wiped it off with his right hand. He gasped and jumped to his feet when he suddenly saw that he was in a room filled with tons of Daleks. These Daleks weren't moving, and their casings were covered in dust. Rory slowly approached one of them, and cautiously reached out to touch it before he gasped again as he jerked back quickly. The Dalek didn't even react to him touching it. He then pushed it away. The Dalek then rolled backwards.
"Hmm," Rory muttered as he shrugged his shoulders before he reached into his pocket with his left and pulled out a torch as he began to explore the area.
"We came down two days ago," Harvey told the Doctor, Rose and Amy as he took them back to the hatch that he was working on a while ago, "There's 12 other escape pods." He then began to open the hatch as Rose wipes away some of the snow surrounding it to reveal the name of the ship, "I don't know what happened to them."
"Alaska?" Rose muttered, "That's the same ship as the one that Oswin was in."
"Wait, the same Oswin who made all those soufflés?" Amy asked them.
"Yeah," the Doctor confirmed as Harvey opened the hatch, "Except she's been here a year."
Harvey then climbed down a ladder into the pod with Amy, Rose and the Doctor following him as they climbed down the ladder into the pod as well.
"Here, we should have some climbing rope long enough for that hole," Harvey said as he went over to a locker in the room as there were crew members sitting in chairs in the room, wearing the same outfit that he was, but they didn't react at their entrance.
"Won't you introduce us to your crew?" The Doctor asked him.
"Ah yeah, sorry. Guys, this is the Doctor, Rose and Amy," Harvey said, introducing Amy and both Gallifreyans to his crew as he looked at them before the Doctor saluted them, only for them to get no reaction from his crew, "Guys?" Rose then walked over to the closest crew member to them and patted their left shoulder with her right hand to reveal a dried-out, mummified corpse, "Oh, my God!"
Rose then pulled out her sonic screwdriver as the Doctor approached her and the body of the crew member as she scanned them with it as she gave him a look and shook her head, telling him what her screwdriver told her before he pulled out his sonic screwdriver and did the same to the other crew members.
"They're dead," the Doctor explained as he closed his sonic screwdriver and placed it back inside his jacket's pocket, "All of them."
"That's not possible," Harvey said with disbelief, "I just spoke to them. Two hours ago, we were doing engine repairs."
"You're sure about that, are you?" The Doctor asked him as he pulled back the hood from another body, "Cos I'd say they've all been dead for a very long time."
"But...but they can't have been…" Harvey said with disbelief in his voice.
"Well, they didn't get in that state in two hours," Amy stated with disgust as she stared at the skeletal remains of Harvey's crew members.
"She's right, it takes a long time for bodies to decompose," Rose told him.
"Oh, of course," Harvey muttered to himself, "Stupid me."
"Of course, what?" Amy asked him.
"I died outside," Harvey told her, causing the Doctor and Rose to look at him, "And the cold preserved my body. I forgot about dying."
Just as he said that, a Dalek's eyestalk grew out from his forehead and began to advance on the Doctor. Rose then began to run towards Harvey as the Time Lord grabbed a fire extinguisher from the wall.
"Hai!" Rose yelled as she thrust her right hand's thumb, index and middle fingers towards Harvey's neck, paralysing him as she used Venusian Aikido on him before she kicked him to the floor as she and the Doctor looked at their companion as he dropped the fire extinguisher, "Amy! The door!"
As Rose picked up the paralysed body of Harvey, Amy pushed a button next to a door to open the door as Rose threw Harvey through it before Amy flipped the lock back upwards, locking him away.
"Explain, that's what you're both good at," Amy told both Gallifreyans, "How did he get all Daleked?"
"Because he wasn't wearing one of these," the Doctor explained as he held up his right wrist, Oh, ho, ho! That's clever! The nano-cloud. Micro-organisms that automatically process any organic matter, living or dead, into a Dalek puppet." He then patted one of the bodies of the crew members on the skull with his right hand as he chuckled, "Anything attacks this place, it automatically becomes part of the on-site security."
"Living or dead?" Amy asked him.
"These wrist-bands protect us," the Doctor went on, "The only thing stopping us going exactly…"
"Doctor, shut up," Amy told the Time Lord as he reapproached her and Rose, "Living or dead?"
"Yes, exactly, living, or, or, or…" the Doctor began to say when they suddenly heard bones cracking as they turned around towards the bodies of the crew members and saw that they now had Dalek eyestalks growing out of their foreheads as they slowly began to stand up.
"Dead," Rose finished for her husband.
"Oh, dear," the Doctor muttered as Harvey snapped out of his temporary paralysis and began pounding on the door behind them, "Yeah."
"We need to move. Now!" Rose said as the Doctor then climbed over the seats and kicked at the bodies of the crew members to clear the way for Amy and the Time Lady to get to the door as he grunted, while they exclaimed before they ran forward.
"Doctor! Rose!" Amy screamed as one of the bodies of the crew members grabbed her by her right arm with their left hand as they passed through the door to the ship's cockpit.
The Doctor then grabbed Amy by her right hand as he grunted and pulled her free and panted before he closed and locked the door as he pulled down a lever next to the door before they leaned against it with their backs and began panting heavily as Rose leaned against the console in the room as she was catching her breath.
"Is it bad that I've really missed this?" Amy asked both Gallifreyans as she smiled.
"Yes," the Doctor answered.
"Definitely," Rose said, agreeing with her husband as she smiled at them.
"Good," Amy muttered to herself.
"I know," the Doctor told her.
"Unauthorised personnel may not enter the cockpit," the three of them suddenly heard Oswin's voice say.
"Shut up!" The Doctor told her as he ran from the door and sat down on one of the seats nearby.
"What? Mr. Grumpy," Oswin muttered as the Doctor peered through a camera in the room, "Bad combo! No sense of humour and that chin."
"She's got you there, Doctor," Rose told her husband as she laughed at him.
"Is that her again, Soufflé girl?" Amy asked them.
"Yeah. Shh," the Doctor answered as he touched the bottom of his chin for a second, "Oi, what is wrong with my chin?"
"Careful, dear, you'll put someone's eye out," Oswin told him, "I'm scanning you. You're on another of the escape pods from the Alaska, right? Same ship I was on."
"How can you hack into everything?" The Doctor asked her, "Should be impossible, you're in a crashed ship!"
"Yeah and how can you hack into Dalek technology?" Rose said, agreeing with him, "That should be impossible."
"Long story," Oswin answered, "Is there a word for total screaming genius that sounds modest and a tiny bit sexy?"
"Doctor," the Time Lord answered, "You call me the Doctor."
"And you can call me Rose," the Time Lady answered, "I'm his wife."
"See what you did there, Doctor," Oswin told them, "Check the floor. I'm picking up a breach at floor level, there could be a way out. See you both later."
"Ah-a!" The Doctor said as he, Rose and Amy cleared a spot on the centre of the floor as Amy moved a yellow container, "Hatch. Looks like it's been used already, and they tried to block it off behind them."
"Can't imagine why," Amy muttered as she looked back at the door.
"No, neither can I," Rose said, agreeing with her and the Doctor's ginger companion.
"The lower part of the pod is buried, so this must go straight down into the Asylum," the Doctor told them.
"Where Rory is," Amy added.
"Speaking of Rory…" The Doctor said as he grunted and worked on opening the hatch, "Anything you want to tell us?"
"Yeah, is there anything you want to tell us, Amy?" Rose asked her, "The two of you are usually in sync, but right now, it seems that you both aren't."
"Are we going to do this now?" Amy said with disbelief.
"Well, what happened?" The Doctor asked her.
"Oh, stuff, you know. We split up," Amy answered, "What can you do?"
"What can I do?" He asked her, earnestly.
"Nothing. It's not one of those things you can fix like you fix your bow tie," Amy told him as she fixed his bow tie with her right hand, "Don't give me those big wet eyes, raggedy man. It's life. Just life. That thing that goes on when you and Rose are not there."
"Amy, we're here for you. Whatever happens, we'll figure it out," Rose said, comforting her as the Doctor finally opened the hatch and dropped a tool that he was using to open it.
"Okay, so someone else got out this way then?" Amy stated as they looked down the deep hole and saw that they couldn't see the bottom and that there was a ladder hanging down from the hatch itself.
"Let's go and find them," the Doctor told her.
"Yeah, let's see where they went," Rose said, agreeing with them when they suddenly heard a banging on the door behind them.
"Oh, hello, hello, hello," the Doctor muttered as he got up and approached the screen that was showing the main room of the escape pod and looked at it, "What are they up to?"
Amy and Rose then approached the screen and looked at the screen as the three of them saw that one of the bodies was holding something in their right hand as they banged it against the door.
"What's that?" Amy asked them.
"One of these," the Doctor answered as he held up his right wrist, "Where did they get it?"
"Yeah, how'd they get it?" Rose said, agreeing with her husband.
"Oh, Doctor, Rose," Amy told them as she looked at her right wrist and pulled down her sleeve and saw that her band that the Dalek puppets gave them back in the parliament of the Daleks was missing, "They got it from me!"
"Oh, Amy," the Doctor said as he took her right arm with his left hand.
"It's going to be alright, Amy," Rose assured her.
"Doctor? Rose? What's going to happen to me?" Amy asked them, "Seriously, tell me, what?" The dead crew member that had Amy's band banged it on the screen and waved it at them tauntingly.
Rory continued to explore the Asylum as he entered another room filled with derelict Daleks with one of them being a Special Weapons Dalek from the Imperial-Renegade Dalek Civil War. He approached one of them with it being covered in webs and had a cracked dome. The nurse then moved its eyestalk out of the way and peered at it. He stepped back when its eyestalk swivelled back.
"Ah," Rory muttered as he slowly backed away and hit a metal bar that was behind him and rolled on the floor with the metallic clanking sound from it echoing through the room. causing the Dalek's eyestalk to light up, "Sssh, sssh…" The Dalek rotated its eyestalk around and saw him, "Sssh, sssh…"
The other Daleks then slowly came back to life as well with the lights in their eyestalks turning back on.
"Egg-egg-egg-egg-egg-egg-eggs…" The Dalek began to say.
"What?" Rory asked the Dalek, "Sorry, what?"
"Egg-egg-egg-egg-egg-eggs…" The Dalek began to repeat itself.
"Eggs?" Rory muttered as he looked at the sense globes on its casing and saw that it was missing some of them, "You mean those things?"
"Eggs…" The Dalek continued to repeat itself.
"I don't... I don't know what you want," Rory told the Dalek before he pointed at the Dalek sense globes on the floor with his index fingers, "Those things?" He then picked one of the sense globes off the floor with his right hand and held it out to the Dalek, "This? Are those things eggs? You want this?"
"Eggs…" the Dalek began to say yet again, "...term….i…nate."
Rory then dropped the sense globe on the floor and backed away as all of the Daleks took up the cry.
"Exterminate! Exterminate!" The Daleks exclaimed as one of them fired their ray gun at Rory, causing the nurse to duck as he began to run and evade them as the others began to fire their ray gun at him as well with him evading their lasers as well, "Exterminate! Exterminate! Exterminate! Exterminate! Exterminate!"
"Run! The door at the end. Run for it!" He suddenly heard Oswin say over the intercom, "They're waking up but they're slow. The door at the end. Just run. Now, now, now!"
Rory then ran for the door as the Daleks continued to fire and shout their favourite word. The door then slid upwards as it opened as the nurse screamed as he slid underneath the door as it closed behind him.
"Exterminate! Extermin..." he heard as the Daleks say as they stopped firing their ray guns and shouting their favourite word as he then sat on the floor and breathed heavily before he sighed as he placed his right hand over his face.
"So, anyway. I'm Oswin," he suddenly heard Oswin say, causing him to gasp, "What do I call you?"
"Uh... I can't even remember. Uh... Rory," the nurse answered.
"Lovely name, Rory," Oswin told him, "First boy I ever fancied was called Rory."
"OK…" Rory muttered to himself.
"Actually, she was called Nina," Oswin told him, "I was going through a phase. Just flirting to keep you cheerful."
Rory then stood back up and shrugged his shoulders as he heard the Daleks behind the closed door bang on it.
"Exterminate!" He heard the Daleks behind the closed door continue to shout, but with their voices being muffled as he looked back at the door, "Exterminate! Exterminate! Exterminate!"
"Ah, okay," Rory muttered, "Anytime you want to start flirting again it's fine by me."
