To try and get out of going to an Ugly Christmas Sweater party, Granger decided the only option was to fake having the flu. And it wasn't easy to do given how smart Hetty was.
He didn't know how much she bought it, but she made him soup and left for the party.
He was enjoying himself when Hetty came home early and busted him.
'I didn't want to look like an idiot, and I didn't think you would oet me stay home, so I thought faking the flu would get me out. Please don't be mad.' Granger confessed.
'Well, thank you for your honesty. And I was enjoying myself until someone spiked the eggnog. I wanted to avoid another Bob Hope incident so I left early.' Hetty replied.
'Bob Hope incident?'
'I was on 1 of the USO trips, and everyone got so drunk from the eggnog, I had to lock myself in the storage room to keep from getting groped. 1 of the worst nights of life.'
'That's rough.'
'And also, I knew you were faking it. I've done the 'thermometer on a lightbulb' trick many times befre. Though, I do wish you were more honest with me.' Hetty said.
'Come one, you missing a chance to make me look ridiculous in front of a crowd? I didn't want to take my chances.' Granger replied.
'Oh you… (laughs).'
