Crawling through the foliage, Mothra Leo moves out of a jungle area of Monster Island as he begins to make his way around one of the large rocky hills the island has. If he didn't have mandibles, a smile would have been seen upon his face.
It's still early, but the day had been going great for him! His mother had finally allowed him to leave their area of the island to go explore and see what the rest of the island is like. Sure, it's mostly been about the same as he's seen around his home, but just seeing something new has been exciting for the larva.
As he keeps crawling through the rocky terrain, he couldn't help but think about wanting to see another kaiju. His mother had warned him to stay clear of them just in case, but part of him wants to meet one just to see what they're like. Plus, they could be rather friendly and-
Leo's suddenly snapped out of his thoughts as he hears a cry and turns his head up to his left as something comes rolling down the hill. The larva moves his head as he watches the green object roll down until it suddenly comes to a stop in front of him.
As he looks, Leo suddenly realizes that the object before him is another kaiju!
It looks like a dinosaur cub with green scales laying on its back with its head laying back and pointed in his direction. The fall did cause dirt to gather on its body, but it otherwise looks fine even with its eyes closed.
Suddenly, the dinosaur opens its large brown eyes and looks back at the larva as a smile grows on its face. Before Leo can react, the dinosaur cub exclaims happily, "Hello!"
"Um...hi," Leo replies a bit awkwardly, tilting his head a bit.
Without hesitation, the young dinosaur asks, "Are you a princess?"
"W-What?!" the larva exclaims, shocked and confused as he crawls back a bit. If he had a different body, Leo's face would have been beet red with a blush.
"A princess," the other kaiju answers as it rolls over and pushes itself back onto its feet. This allows the larva to see its tubby body and short limbs as it continues. "You're a larva, right? That means you're a pretty moth like Mothra, and she's a girl."
"But I'm a boy!" Leo shouts, making the dinosaur cub blink.
The young dinosaur tilting its head in curiosity as it asks, "You are?"
"Yes," the larva says as he rears back to look at the cub better, "My name is Mothra Leo."
"Oh," the cub says in realization, blinking before smiling a few moments later as he says, "Well, I'm Godzilla Junior. It's nice to meet you!"
Leo nods his head, taking in how friendly Junior is being with him. Out of all the kaiju he was warned about, his mother made note to stay clear of the monster king just in case. And here he is before said kaiju's son – if the name is any indication – and he's surprised by how...nice he is.
"Junior!"
Both kaiju turn to look up the rocky hill as another kaiju slides down carefully on its hands and knees to reach the two. Leo takes in the brown reptile with spines lining its head, back, and tail with its back covered in what looks like lumpy warts. Reaching the two quickly, the larger reptile goes up to the dinosaur and asks in a panic, "Junior, you okay?!"
"I'm fine, Varan," Junior replies, wagging his little tail with Leo noticing his tiny white back plates, "Oh! And this is Leo!"
Varan takes a quick look at Leo who sees how eerie this new kaiju looks and simply says, "H-Hi."
"Hey," Varan says without hesitation before turning to Junior, "So...how about we head somewhere else to play? Don't want to freak your family out, now do we?"
"Okay," Junior replies and turns to Leo, "Want to come with me and my friend?"
"Um...no thanks," Leo replies rather meekly, "I'll...just head home."
"Alright then," Varan says back before he and Junior walk away, "See ya around!"
"Bye, princess!" Junior exclaims happily while they leave.
"Hey!" Leo shouts, but stays in place as he sees the two disappear behind the rocky hill. This leaves the larva alone with him looking around before putting his upper body back onto the ground. He turns around and begins to crawl back towards the foliage to head home as he thinks out loud with a slight pout.
"I'm not a princess."
