Ben couldn't take his eyes off her. Kuri—Miko—whatever she called herself now, had changed in the years since he'd last seen her. She stood before him, her long dark hair swaying slightly as she sheathed her glowing sword. Her confident smirk hadn't changed, but there was a new elegance to her, an air of maturity that made Ben's heart skip a beat.

"Wow," Ben said, unable to keep the awe out of his voice. "You've… grown up."

Kuri raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. "And you haven't changed at all, Alien Boy."

Ben opened his mouth to respond but was cut off as Kuri grabbed his hand. "Come on, you've got to see this!"

She led him through a winding series of tunnels until they emerged into a bustling, vibrant city beneath the surface.

"Welcome to Undertown," Kuri said, releasing his hand and gesturing to the sprawling marketplace of alien species and cultures.

Ben's jaw dropped. "How long has this been here?"

Kuri shrugged, her smile softening. "A while. Isn't it beautiful?"

Ben nodded, but his focus wasn't on the neon lights or the bustling streets—it was on her.

Before Ben could say anything else, a low growl echoed through the air. The crowd scattered as Khyber's hunting dog, transformed into its Buglizard form, lunged toward them.

"Kuri, look out!" Ben shouted, shoving her aside as the creature's pincers snapped dangerously close to her.

In an instant, Kuri's demeanor shifted. Her eyes flashed silver as she drew her sword and transformed back into Miko. She charged at the creature, her blade glowing with power.

"Hiko!" she shouted, unleashing a gust of wind that forced the creature back momentarily.

But the Buglizard was relentless. It twisted midair and swatted her aside with its tail, sending her crashing into a wall. She crumpled to the ground, unconscious.

"Kuri!" Ben's voice broke with panic. He slammed down the Omnitrix, transforming into Shocksquatch with a flash of green light.

Shocksquatch roared, electricity crackling around his hulking form as he charged at the Buglizard. The creature snarled, its pincers snapping as it met his attack head-on.

Ben's fists slammed into the Buglizard's armored hide, sending bolts of electricity surging through its body. The alien beast screeched in pain but retaliated with a powerful swipe, knocking Ben back into a row of stalls.

Undertown's inhabitants scattered, shouting in fear as the fight escalated. Ben barely registered them. All he could think about was Kuri lying motionless on the ground.

"You're gonna pay for that!" he growled, lunging at the creature again.

The Buglizard tried to dodge, but Shocksquatch was faster. He grabbed its tail, hoisting the creature into the air before slamming it into the ground. The impact sent shockwaves through the marketplace, and Ben didn't let up.

Punch after electrified punch landed, the crackling energy growing more intense with each strike. His vision blurred with rage, and his normally jovial demeanor was replaced with something darker, more primal.

"Ben… stop."

The soft voice broke through the haze. Ben froze, turning to see Kuri stirring, her silver eyes wide as she took in the scene.

"Kuri!" Ben shouted, his voice filled with relief.

She struggled to her feet, using her sword for support. "I'm fine," she said, her tone firm despite the faint tremor in her voice.

The Buglizard took advantage of Ben's distraction, lunging at him again. But before it could reach him, Kuri raised her sword.

"Tsubasa!" she cried, sending a flurry of glowing feathers at the creature. The attack struck true, forcing the Buglizard to revert to its canine form. It whimpered before vanishing into the shadows.

Kuri lowered her sword, breathing hard. "Well, that was fun."

Ben turned back to her, his chest heaving from the fight. The adrenaline was still coursing through him, and the sight of her standing there, strong and unyielding despite the battle, made his heart pound for an entirely different reason.

"Kuri, you could've been—" he started, but she cut him off.

"Ben," she said softly, stepping closer. "I'm okay."

Her eyes searched his face, and for a moment, neither of them said anything. Then, without warning, she leaned in and kissed him.

Ben's eyes widened in shock as her lips pressed against his. The rough texture of his alien form didn't seem to bother her—in fact, she seemed to lean into it.

When she finally pulled back, her cheeks were flushed, and her smile was playful. "You're still bad at hiding your feelings, you know that?"

Ben stammered, his mind racing. "You—you just kissed me! While I'm… like this!" He gestured to his Shocksquatch form, his voice rising an octave.

Kuri raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. "And? You think I care what form you're in? You're still you, Ben."

He blinked, processing her words. "You're… weird."

"And you're adorable when you're flustered," she shot back, grinning.

The Omnitrix timed out, and Ben transformed back into his human form, his face beet red. "Uh… so, um…"

Kuri laughed, reaching out to take his hand. "Ben Tennyson, do you want to go out with me?"

Ben gawked at her, completely caught off guard. "Wait, what?"

"Chili fries and smoothies," she said, her tone teasing. "My treat."

A slow smile spread across his face. "Yeah. Yeah, I'd like that."

As they walked off together, Ben couldn't stop glancing at her, his heart still racing from the kiss—and the battle. For the first time in years, he felt like everything was exactly where it was meant to be.

In the shadows above Undertown, Khyber watched the pair with narrowed eyes.

"The boy has grown stronger," he muttered, his hand resting on the head of his transformed hunting dog. "But attachments make him weak. Soon, I will strike where it hurts most."

The hunter disappeared into the darkness, his plans already taking shape.
