It was a beautiful day on the Island of Sodor, The sun was shining and the birds were singing and the flowers were blooming. Thomas and his friends were very busy. They carried passengers and freight up and down the line.
One day Hilary the engines were at Knapford station. The Fat Controller had an announcement, "Today the duke and duchess and their son will visit the Island of Sodor and I'm choosing an engine". The engines were excited. They wanted all to be chosen. But The Fat Controller chose Gordon, Gordon was excited and steamed away with excitement. He raced over Gordon's hill.
Later Hilary was at Maron Station with Thomas and James. When Gordon arrived with Spencer, The Duke and Duchess and their son stepped out of the coaches. Hilary walked towards Gordon, but she bumped into the Duke and duchess' son. He was at Hilary's age, he had auburn brown hair, hazel eyes, a white shirt, a plum colored tie, a purple vest with red rose brooch, blue pants, a black belt and balck shoes. "Hey!" said Hilary when she bumped into him, "Are you okay?" asked the duke and duchess' son. Hilary didn't know what to say, "I uh..." she blushed "I'm Hilary Stewart, What's yours?" she asked. "My name is Michael, Michael of Boxford" replied Michael, They looked at each other.
Was this love at first sight? Edward's adopted daughter and the Duke and Duchess' son in love with each other?. Michael and Hilary blushed. "Sorry I bumped into you" said Hilary, "That's okay" said Michael. Then he looked at Hilary's necklace. "What a beautiful necklace" he said "Where did you get it from?" Michael asked, "It was my mother's, She gave me it when i was 5, but one night while me and my mum and dad were walking, my parents were killed and I ran away from the mysterious killer. "said Hilary as she holded her golden necklace with a pink gemstone, "I was all alone. but then an engine named Edward adopted me" she told Michael her backstory. "Oh, I'm sorry about your loss of your parents" said Michael, he felt bad for Hilary. Michael smiled and so did Hilary, They almost about to kiss.
Just then he heard his mother's voice "Michael?" called the Duchess of Boxford. "I'm coming, mother" said Michael. Then Michael found a pink flower nearby in a flower pot he took the flower and gave it to Hilary. "This is for you, so you don't forget me" said Michael as he gave the pink flower to Hilary. "Thanks" said Hilary "You're welcome" replied Michael. "Michael are you coming?" said The Duke, "Yes, Father" he said. "You're not leaving?" asked Hilary, "No, I'm not leaving, My parents and I will sometimes visit Sodor and I'll write letters to you" said Michael as he stepped aboard in the coaches. Gordon whistled and steamed away with Spencer.
Hilary sighed, "Love, so short, but everlasting" she said to herself. Later that evening The engines were at Tidmouth Sheds and the engines were chatting with each other. "And then Spencer lied that he had a leaked tank" said Gordon. Hilary was there, "Thomas, Guys, Dad I have something to tell you" said Hilary. "What is it, Hilary?" asked Edward. "Dad, I'm in love with the duke and duchess' son". She said to her friends and adoptive father. "In love?" the all asked. Hilary showed her friends the pink flower Michael had given her earlier. "This is from him, His name is Michael" she said, "While Spencer is a big silver show off, The Duke and Duchess and their son were nice" said Gordon. "He was nice indeed and said sometimes that he and his parents would visit the Island of Sodor" said Hilary. She looked up at the beautiful evening sky, thinking about Michael
