Snowstopper
Author Notes: It's the greatest time of year and it's here da na nanana na. Holiday Hell-part 2 has arrived. So time to shake things up. We're going Mortal Kombat. Let's see how this goes, I do not own it.
3rd P.O.V
"Are you ready?" Kuai Liang kept his steady gaze on the sky, admiring the snow that gently descended down. "As ready as I'll ever be sir!" The grandmaster of ice stifled a snort as his student fidgeted in place.
He couldn't blame her for being nervous. She was dedicated to her craft and what he requested from her placed a lot of pressure on those tiny teen shoulders. "Have fun and don't push yourself too hard."
Taking a shaky breath, Miria nodded, though knowing the girl like Subzero did, he doubted she would take his advice. Still, he had no concerns. When the announcer revealed them, and the large gates to the Roman colosseum opened, he and Miria alongside their clan marched forth.
Cheers rang out in all directions from the overflowing seats filled with spectators. Representatives of all the realms were found among the humans. Today was a time of celebration as peace had been ensured earlier that year.
Challenges that threatened that peace was always a factor to consider, but with Raiden, Liu Kang, the special force, Subzero's clan, Scorpion's clan and Empress Kitana all working together, they have been able to quell most of the danger that risked knocking on Earth's door.
And it was with all that effort that Empress Kitana requested a celebration as the end of the year quickly approached. It didn't help that Johnny was also teaching her and some of the other Realm representatives of the many holidays humans celebrated.
Both he and his clan bowed their heads before Kitana who greeted them all with a smile. Kuai Liang offered a smile Miria's way before leaving his clan to join Liu Kang, who sat next to his wife as well as the rest of their companions. "Welcome Subzero!"
He responded to each hello and wave, dropping next to Hanzo at the table. "How have the festivities been treating you and the rest of the guests, Empress Kitana?" She smiled with twinkling eyes, looking far younger than she has in a long time.
"It's been wonderful, however I hear it is only the beginning. I've been told my Johnny that you yourself have a surprise in store for everyone?" Eyebrows were raised in his direction.
All saw the mirth in his gaze as picked up his drink. "Not so much me, but one of my students. She is a performer who takes pride in her work. I asked her to set up a show for us to enjoy."
As he spoke, everyone turned towards the center of the colosseum. Miria was alone in the center, given final wishes by her fellow disciples as they left. Snow still fell softly landing on the ground creating a thin layer of white.
Drones circled the girl as she took off her cloak, revealing a short red and white dress with long sleeves, ice heels, and a red bow keeping her hair up in a ponytail. For a few minutes their is a moment of silence as drones continue circling her.
They broadcast her face on tvs everywhere, recording her placing a wireless headset on her ears. She tapped the mic by her mouth carefully, listening for the audio before looking back up to the very top of her stage.
"Greetings to everyone! I hope you all have been having a good time with the parties going on today. My name is Miria, a member of the Lin Kuei, one of the several groups dedicated to the protection of Earthrealm." Applause suddenly rang on, igniting a round of cheers.
She waited a minute before continuing. "It is my honor to stand before everyone today to help continue the celebration with a performance. My master graciously offered me the chance to do a show, so may I please get applause for Master Kuai Liang otherwise known as Grandmaster Subzero!"
Cheers even louder than before erupted, causing said master in question to chuckle. "It is my hope that we can end the year with a bang to ring in an era of peace, but with that being said, I think we should get things going." Miria took a deep breath, waiting once more for things to quiet.
Waited again, raising her hands high above her head while closing her eyes. The moment drums began the song, she snapped into focus. She spread her arms out, summoning the snow as her voice echoed throughout her stage.
Singing and dancing she manipulated the snow and ice creating frozen trees as decoration and sparkling stars to throw out towards her audience. On heeled shoes she fluttered about the now ice-covered ground, skating as drones followed her every move with multicolored lights.
Several songs, all in different languages to express the love she had for her world resonated with those watching her. If people weren't shouting out their awe and appreciation they were mute, amazed.
"I see what you mean. She's talented." Even the foreign representatives were impressed, enchanted with her grace. "I'll be sure to relay your praise to her Empress. She's been practicing this for months." And he was so glad her work was paying off.
Her control over ice has improved so much, the way she created and manipulated the snowy props looked so easy while she twirled mid-song. "Truly, this is a day to remember." It was indeed.
For over an hour she captivated everyone, bowing to flowers thrown at her feet, exhausted by happy when she finally took her leave, sitting with the rest of her joyous clan members to take a long deserved rest.
Subzero beamed with pride, not even Johnny rudely throwing his arm over his shoulder could ruin that. "So...I gotta ask. Does she do reservations?" In response, the grandmaster to the in Kuei smashed a fruitcake in his friend's face.
"MORTAL KOMBAT!"
The end
Author Notes: Welp, I got a mortal kombat that actually didn't end in a bloody brawl, only around the holidays lol. Go team Subzero! So goes on my holiday hell. Time to end it here.
