'This is what you guys watch for Christmas?' Asked Max incredulously. 'Some play doh?'
'It's stop animation for fucks sake. It's genius' hissed Miranda, smacking him on the arm. Roberto sat quietly, requested subtitles.
'So fucking lazy, look at that man' he complained. 'He can't even get out of bed in the morning and his dog has to do everything but wipe his ass. He takes him for granted like a servant. His brain is shaped like the wrong trousers.'
Miranda blinked. She knew this was true but she'd not really thought about it.
Max catalogued the list of inventions he would like to try and asked about Wensleydale cheese. Miranda sighed. He had the appetite of a goat. She preferred cheddar herself but when she would visit home next week she would have to bring him a block of wensleydale for the new year to shut him up.
'Next one,' insisted Roberto. He was quite taken with the evil penguin. Miranda started playing the most recent film involving the feathered fiend. Roberto watched, transfixed as the plot got more convoluted and more erratic. Robots and gardens and penguins oh my. Miranda was gratified to see that he appreciated genius. Max laughed his head off at the nun taking a pleasure cruise.
'Only the British' he said.
'There will be another one?' Roberto queried when it was finished. He wanted more villainy. Miranda said she'd let him know if they did. In return, he requested a figurine of Feathers McGraw for his Christmas present. Max enjoyed it in the end but Roberto was well and truly hooked.
