Over the last couple of years, the bond between ponies and heroes continued to grow. What started as a surprise meet-up evolved into lasting friendships.
Peter Parker and Twilight Sparkle did their best to maintain that bond. Their shared love of science is what kept them together.
But what truly kept them together were the lingering feelings between the two. Twilight found herself increasingly fascinated with Peter, while he in return continued to think highly of Twilight.
What kept them from truly being together however, were concerns regarding their relationship. Twilight may be human like in nature, and Peter may not be that different from how ponies are, both knew that their potential for anything in the field of romance would be seen as a major taboo among both cultures.
Fortunately, they each had friends who believed the two deserved happiness regardless of what their respective societies believed.
One day Peter and Twilight were seen together in Ponyville Park, sitting on a bench and discussing a science experiment the two were performing using some beakers.
"The chemicals of this world are so unique compared to Earth," Peter said. "Yet the difference can't be easily told by the naked eye."
"Yeah, it takes a lot of careful consideration, but the results should showcase the different qualities," Twilight said. "With any luck, it won't be anything to detrimental but you can never be too careful."
"Tell me about it, the slightest contrast can make all the difference," Peter said.
"Heh, that's a funny way to word it," Twilight said. "But you're correct. Not to say it's all different, your world and mine do have its similarities."
"Your world just has to adjust for its dominant nature, just like mine," Peter said.
"With how incredible your world is, perhaps it will continue to evolve with its amazing breed of extraordinary people like yourself," Twilight said.
"Me? Extraordinary?" Peter teased. "You're too kind. If anyone is extraordinary, it's the girl who knows her science as well as her magic."
"You're understanding our magical culture quite well yourself," Twilight said.
"It's not easy, magic's a whole different beast," Peter said.
"Hasn't Doctor Strange been helping you?" Twilight asked.
"A little, but it's still tough," Peter said.
"That's understandable, in hindsight Doctor Strange struggled himself despite being a sorcerer on your world," Twilight said. "But he has explained that magical properties change between worlds. Our magic is not exactly the same type he uses. Even Asgardian Magic has its differences. But it's all fascinating in the end."
"Hopefully I can figure that all out, and then figure out a way to experiment with different forms of magic," Peter said.
Twilight's eyes widened in amazement, "Peter Parker, you have read my mind."
Not too far away, Rainbow Dash and Johnny Storm had took note of the duo while out on a run.
"There they are again," Rainbow Dash said. "Given how long they've known each other, and how much they like to spend time together, you'd think they would just date already."
"You would, and I know for a fact that Peter doesn't seem to care that Twilight is a pony," Johnny said. "He's got plenty of nice things to say about her."
"And Twilight has praised Peter at every opportunity, so that feeling is definitely mutual," Rainbow Dash said.
"Aren't you two making too many assumptions?" Thunderlane said as he jogged over himself. "They like each other yes, but who's to say there's true love? They could just be really good friends."
"I've seen Twilight making mushy eyes at pictures of Peter," Rainbow Dash said.
"And Peter gets all nervous talking about Twilight," Johnny said. "I've been around long enough to recognize these tells he has."
"Still, let's not do anything strange here," Thunderlane said. "The last thing we want to do is annoy Peter or Twilight."
"Come on dude, that's not on our agenda at all," Johnny insisted.
"Yeah, we're just going to give them a little nudge," Johnny said. "Call it a helping hand."
"Or hoof," Rainbow Dash said as she showed off her hooves.
"Look, meddling is not a smart thing to do," Thunderlane said. "Like, when has that ever worked out for anyone?"
"Hey, we can learn from past mistakes," Rainbow Dash said.
"Look, all I'm saying is that if something is happening between Peter and Twilight, to let it happen naturally," Thunderlane said.
"Yes, we can do that," Rainbow Dash said. "Or, and hear me out, we get the ball rolling because sometimes, people can miss out on romance when it's literally right there. Case in point, me."
"You?" Thunderlane asked.
"Remember dude, I nearly lost out on being with you because Twilight scooped you up first," Rainbow Dash said.
"Huh? That's not what happened," Thunderlane said. "We dated, and then when we went to that hotel in The Crystal Empire-"
"Semantics!" Rainbow Dash interrupted. "Point is, love is pretty fickle sometimes."
"Peter sucks as love, dude ended up with two girls pining for him and no idea what to do," Johnny said. "Any sensible man would have gone with both. Gwen and Laura did seem fine with it after all."
"Well it's a good thing he didn't do that, since it would have been a pretty horrible idea," Thunderlane said.
"Babe, your brother has three girlfriends," Rainbow Dash said.
"Yeah...and honestly, it's pretty unusual," Thunderlane admitted.
"Dude! Thunder! Come on!" Rainbow Dash scolded. "They agreed to it and they're happy!"
"Never mind that right now. My point is, Peter is oblivious, which is why Love Expert Johnny Storm could help out big time," Johnny bragged. "As someone who's been with a magical girl, I have a pretty decent idea of what to do."
Thunderlane furrowed his brow at the hero before brushing it off. "You know what? You do what you want. Just don't say I didn't warn you."
"Dude, we got this," Johnny said. "Trust us."
"Yeah, trust us," Rainbow Dash said.
Weary as Thunderlane was, he knew Rainbow Dash was too stubborn to budge, especially with an equally chaotic friend by her side. Relenting, he decided to just make his exit. "Well, I do know you two care about your friends, so I'll put my faith in you. I'll catch you later."
With Thunderlane gone, Rainbow Dash turned her attention to Johnny, "See? I knew he'd see it our way."
"Well, he seems hesitant," Johnny said.
"Love drama really plagued our lives at one point, so I don't blame him," Rainbow Dash said.
"Sounds like it was pretty bad," Johnny said.
"You have no idea," Rainbow Dash said. "So, let's get talking."
Later on, while in her library, Twilight was seen reading a book she borrowed from Earth while preparing something in the kitchen.
"I hope I'm doing this right," Twilight said as she put some ingredients together. Moments later, she heard a knock on her door, to which she called out for her dragon assistant. "Spike, mind getting that!?"
"I got it!" Spike said as he made his way over to the door. He opened it to reveal the guest in question, "Hey Rainbow Dash, didn't expect to see you here? Did a new Daring Do book I never heard about get released?"
"Geez Spike, I come here for more than just Daring Do," Rainbow Dash teased.
"I know," Spike gestured inside the library. "Twilight! Rainbow Dash is here to see you!"
"Rainbow Dash?" Twilight said as her friend came into the kitchen.
"Whoa, are you actually cooking something?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Well yeah, how else would I eat?" Twilight asked.
"Doesn't Spike do most of the cooking for you?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Yeah if she's eating it herself," Spike said. "But Twilight isn't making this for herself, she's got something else in mind."
"Spike, can it!" Twilight warned.
"Well gee, now I'm kind of curious," Rainbow Dash said as she flew over to her friend. "If you're not cooking for yourself, who are you cooking for then?"
"Not now, Rainbow Dash!" Twilight scolded.
"Hey I'm not gonna laugh, now spill the beans," Rainbow Dash said. "If you don't talk, I'll just annoy you until you do."
"Rainbow Dash..." Twilight lamented as she focused away from her friend.
Upon noticing how distressed Twilight looked, Rainbow Dash opted to dial it back. "Hey, you know I won't laugh at you or anything, right? You can trust me."
Despite her brief hesitation, Twilight could not deny Rainbow Dash's genuine nature. Opting to trust her friend, Twilight began to explain it.
"I'm making a cherry pie for Peter," Twilight said. "It's something I've wanted to do for some time, so I borrowed a cookbook I got from Earth to do so."
"Wow, that's it?" Rainbow Dash asked. "That's really nice of you, I don't know why you were so embarrassed to admit it."
"It's because she has a big, giant crush on Peter," Spike teased.
"Spike!" Twilight scolded. "That's enough out of you!"
"Hey it's true," Spike said. "You talk about him all the time, you get so excited whenever he comes to see you or you go to see him." He pulled up a picture frame, "You even have this picture that you stare so lovingly at! You haven't been this smitten over a guy since you dated Thunderlane!"
"Wait...does Peter know about my past dating life?" Twilight wondered aloud.
"See! Now you're worried about that!" Spike said.
"Also, Twi, it's all cool," Rainbow Dash said. "According to Johnny, Peter's had a complicated dating life himself. So you're not alone."
"Right..." Twilight bashfully rubbed her head. "Okay, it's true. I have a crush on Peter. I know it's abnormal since he's human and I'm a pony. Though with Sunset Shimmer's help, maybe I can take on a human form to date Peter."
"Does it matter that much?" Rainbow Dash asked. "I'd be totally fine with dating a human as I am. Not that I will, I'm perfectly happy with Thunderlane. Plus Spike here has had crushes on ponies despite being a dragon. He's even dated some."
"She's not wrong, the mares I dated never cared that I was a dragon," Spike said. "Though a few were bothered by me being a 'baby' dragon, but baby to a dragon is basically adult for a pony."
"Well I don't know how Peter would feel about this," Twilight said.
"Only one way to find out," Rainbow Dash said. "You two are going on a date."
"A date?" Twilight asked. "Where could that date be?"
Meanwhile on Earth, Johnny is seen talking with Peter about a similar situation while the two were in costume and standing on top of the Statue of Liberty.
"You want me to go where?" Peter asked.
"To Manehattan," Johnny clarified. "You're going on a date with Twilight Sparkle."
Peter was grateful that his mask hid the blush on his face, though he still felt some uncertainty about all of this.
"You want me to go on a date...with Twilight?" Peter asked.
"You say that like it's a bad thing," Johnny said. "Is it a bad thing?"
"Well...she's really nice, and I enjoy spending time with her," Peter said. "But dating? That feels like a bit too much."
"Is it because she's a pony?" Johnny asked.
"Well...that's part of the reason I admit," Peter said. "Granted, I forget that she's a pony sometimes. She feels so human."
"Then it can't be that bad," Johnny said.
"It can be though," Peter insisted. "What would the others say?"
"Who gives a crap?" Johnny asked. "What matters is that you're happy. If you want to date a pony, then do it. I've flirted with aliens. You remember Crystal?"
"Crystal is still humanoid," Peter pointed out.
"And Twilight is sapient," Johnny said. "She's not a wild animal, she's essentially her world's version of a human."
"Okay...let's say I do put all of that aside," Peter said. "There's also the fact that my dating life hasn't been great either."
"Dude, you can't let that worry you," Johnny said. "If you're too afraid to date, you're never going to be happy. Besides, I really think this will work out. Unlike before, there's this mutual trust between you two."
"How is it different from before?" Peter asked. "It didn't work with Laura, Gwen or Felicia."
"Laura was less like a girl you could bond with and a trauma case that you needed to be a therapist for," Johnny said. "Felicia wasn't really girlfriend material per say. She was just a headache for you."
"That still leaves Gwen," Peter said. "Someone I really did love."
"The Gwen here isn't your Gwen, she's from another dimension," Johnny said. "In the end, you know you can't replace your Gwen Stacy, not even with a variant of herself. I think that's what holds you back."
"Wow...you're much more insightful than I give you credit for," Peter said.
"Can't tell if that's a genuine compliment or you being a jerk," Johnny said. "Still, I think you and Twilight have a good chance. You've known her for a long time now, you're clearly good friends. I think that could transition into romance. Just my opinion though."
Peter rubbed his chin in wonder, "Well, I can tell you put quite a bit of thought into this."
"It's your call in the end," Johnny said. "But remember, it's just a date, you're not committing to anything. If things don't work out, at least you tried. You've got nothing to lose."
Peter had to think long and hard about this, similar to the mare in Equestria, who was told something similar.
"I can't promise that you and Peter will hit it off, or if you'll actually be happy together," Rainbow Dash said. "What I can promise is that you won't know unless you try. You don't even need to look at it like a date, just hang out with the guy for a bit."
Twilight and Peter thought it over, and fortunately for their simplicity, they came to the same answer.
"I'll do it."
Meanwhile in another realm, that being The Dark Dimension, Dormammu was seen with his allies of The Dazzlings, Queen Chrysalis, Super Skrull and Mr. Negative.
The leader of evil was seen moving pieces around a table in the manner of a military style planning. "If we can gather enough forces here, we can keep Avengers Tower blocked off long enough to completely eradicate it, with Earth's Mightiest Heroes trapped inside."
"You would need a very powerful army to do such a thing," Loki said. "My brother alone could handle adversity such as this."
"Which is why I have contacted Annihilus," Dormammu said. "His Never Zone Beasts should provide all that we need for a distraction."
"Annihilus?" Loki asked. "Can he be trusted?"
"You leave that to me," Dormammu said. "I would not take any unnecessary chances myself."
"Annihilus may be easier to work with, compared to other powerful foes," Mr. Negative said.
"Do we have any other allies we could use?" Adagio asked.
"Finding trustworthy allies is difficult, but I do feel as though we will not need to recruit too many," Dormammu said. "Just ones we can trust that have access to armies."
"Super Skrull definitely proved his worth," Sonata said. "Maybe we don't need more."
"We could find some expendables," Aria suggested. "Ones who have no chance of winning, but may make for a decent distraction."
"I like the way you think, Aria," Loki said. "Now, back to your plan Dormammu. What of the defenses in Equestria? Such as Canterlot Castle?"
"I was considering The Skrull Army," Dormammu said.
"That might be difficult," Chrysalis confirmed. "Ever since I invaded the Royal Wedding between Prince Shining Armor and Princess Cadance with my army, Canterlot has taken extra precaution against shapeshifters."
"Unless you just send them in without the shapeshifting," Aria said. "They probably wouldn't expect that, and it could lead to paranoia among the other ponies."
"All that negativity could make good snacks for me and the girls here," Adagio said. "Plus, it might give Martin here a chance to recruit more into his army."
"You girls are quite cunning," Mr. Negative said. "I'm impressed."
"It's all about knowing who we're working for," Adagio said.
"Also, speaking of allies, what about Mysterio?" Sonata asked.
"What about him? He's been captured," Chrysalis said.
"Yeah, but he seems really valuable as an ally," Sonata said. "I feel like at some point we could free him."
"You won't need to, he escaped," Mr. Negative said. "It was no trouble for the Master of Illusions."
"Impressive, we'll just have to find him again," Adagio said.
"In due tme," Dormammu said. "Come, more planning is required for our grand conquest."
A few days later in Equestria, Peter and Twilight met up in Manehattan. The hero had gotten used to walking among the ponies, though the same could not be said for the ponies themselves.
There were those who liked Peter, or at least did not mind seeing humans around as they were friendly for the most part. But there were some who found their presence strange and unusual, with Peter getting the occasional dirty glare as he, Johnny and Bobby walked down the sidewalk.
"Feels like everyone's staring," Peter said.
"You get used to it," Bobby said.
"Yeah, besides we are kind of unusual, the same thing happens when Twilight, Dashie or the others visit Earth," Johnny said. "Just chill out and go with the flow, bro."
"Yeah, I suppose that's all I can do," Peter said.
"Besides, you're about to go on a date with an objectively cute girl," Bobby said. "Soon ponies will be staring at you because they're jealous."
"Not sure if that makes me feel better," Peter said. "I'm a foreign creature from another dimension that's about to date royalty from this world. They might feel resentful of that."
"Who gives a crap?" Johnny said. "Besides, you're a superhero. You're way more qualified than a good chunk of potential suitors from this world. Show me someone gutsy enough to punch out guys like Loki, Dormammu or even Thanos."
"Speaking of Loki and Dormammu, has anyone been briefed about their location?" Bobby asked. "Same with that Chrysalis lady."
"No one's said anything yet," Peter said. "I even went through S.H.I.E.L.D.'s files, and still haven't found anything."
"You went through their files?" Johnny asked. "Something tells me that Fury will be pissed that you did that."
"Let him be," Peter said. "I need to know what's going on, one way or another."
"Well, someone's gotta keep us in the know," Bobby said, then noticed a group in the distance. "I see Twilight. She's with Rainbow Dash and that cute fashionist mare."
"The one with the girlfriend?" Johnny asked.
"You bet," Bobby said. "Boy do those two ladies know how to show love."
Peter glared at Bobby for a brief second, "Hey um...you haven't been snooping on Rarity and Applejack, have you?"
"Who? Me?" Bobby scoffed at the idea. "Nah dude..."
Peter furrowed his brow at Bobby before shrugging it off, "Just don't be stupid, okay?"
"Harsh dude," Bobby said.
From the distance, Rarity gestured to the heroes. "I see Peter and his friends. Now, do you remember what we talked about?"
"Yes...keep it simple," Twilight said.
"No Twilight, make it look simple, but be dazzling," Rarity said. "Show what good of a mare you are and make him truly desire you."
"If you're lucky, you might get laid," Rainbow Dash said.
"Rainbow Dash!" Twilight scolded with her face bright red. "It's way too soon to think about that!"
"Hey you've known him long enough," Rainbow Dash said.
"I still don't want to consider that right now!" Twilight said as she tried to regain her composure. "I just want to focus on getting through this date without embarrassing myself."
"Give Peter some credit, he's a very kind and understanding person," Rarity said. "Things will be fine."
Before long, the two sides had finally met up. Twilight and Peter awkwardly glanced at one another, not uttering a word upon their arrival.
"So..." Johnny tried thinking of ways to get the ball rolling. "This is a fun little meet-up, isn't it Peter?"
"Uh...yeah, fun little meet-up," Peter said.
"In such a great city, right Twilight?" Rarity asked, trying to keep things going.
"Yes, it's a wonderful city," Twilight said. "It looks like like the Manhattan of your Earth."
"The fact that these two worlds have a city that looks almost exactly the same with similar sounding names will always be one of the strangest things to me," Johnny said.
"It's not just this city either," Bobby said. "While we have Las Vegas, these ponies have Las Pegasus."
"It's unusual, but nothing we're not accustomed to," Peter said. "We've seen stranger after all."
"Yeah, just consider it as great worlds thinking alike," Twilight said.
"This dimension really is a world of possibilities," Peter said.
"A world of wonder," Twilight added.
The two began giggling, finally easing them of their prior awkwardness. This gave the cue for the other friends to make their leave.
"Well, we'll be off now," Johnny said. "You two have fun."
"We'll check on you later," Rainbow Dash said. "But just enjoy yourselves."
"Yeah sure..." Peter said. "We will."
"Go have fun yourselves," Twilight said.
"Peace!" Johnny said and flew off with Rainbow Dash by his side.
Bobby and Rarity had made their leave too, which allowed Peter and Twilight to be alone for the moment.
"So, you got talked into this as well?" Twilight asked.
"Yeah, it didn't take a lot of persuading though," Peter said. "It's always fun to hang out with you."
Twilight nodded in agreement, "Same here. But they want this to be a date."
"Never mind what they want, let's just do what we feel like doing," Peter said.
"Would you like to see a Briddle Way show with me?" Twilight asked. "There's this one show I like called 'Hinny of the Hills'. It's a musical."
"Well, Briddleway is Broadway, and Broadway is known for its musicals," Peter said. "But yeah, I'd like to see this show with you."
"Good, because I kind of ordered the tickets in advance," Twilight said as she pulled the tickets out with her magic."
"Planning ahead, smart girl," Peter said. "Lead the way, Princess."
"You know you don't have to call me that," Twilight said.
"I know, I just felt like it," Peter said.
"Well, if that's what you'd like," Twilight said as she bashfully brushed her mane back. "Follow me then."
All the while, Rumble was also in Manehattan with the Cutie Mark Crusader trio.
"I heard Twilight's in town with Peter," Sweetie Belle said as she walked around with her friends. "Should we try to find them?"
"If we run into them, and that's a possibility, then that's fine," Rumble said. "But we're here for a reason."
"Yeah, Babs just opened her new salon," Apple Bloom said. "We're gonna be her first customers."
"It's free, right?" Rumble asked, earning an eye roll from Apple Bloom.
"Yeah, it's free," Apple Bloom said. "Though it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to leave a tip."
"If she does a good job," Rumble said.
"Of course she'll do a good job," Apple Bloom said. "She's got a Cutie Mark in mane styling. She went to school to get better. Even Rarity likes her style."
"Rarity does not compliment things like that lightly," Sweetie Belle said. "Let's give it a chance."
"Fine by me," Rumble said.
Around this point, Cozy Glow was seen reading a book while in Canterlot Castle, while under supervision from Starlight.
The two were not alone, as both Sunset Shimmer and Doctor Strange were also present and doing research.
"So...nice day huh?" Starlight asked.
"Starlight, I'd love to talk, but we're a bit busy," Sunset said. "I'm doing research about some of the magic in Stephen's world, and he's refreshing his knowledge on ours."
"I'm also looking into the history of your world and some of its most incredible feats," Strange said "Such as this tale about a creature named Grogar."
"I heard about him," Cozy Glow said. "Twilight talked about him in her school. How Gusty the Great sealed him away and hid the magical bell he uses somewhere where ponies would never find it, for within lies Grogar's incredible magic."
"Wow, you're quite knowledgeable," Starlight said.
"I know a lot about this type of stuff," Cozy Glow said.
"This doesn't have to do with you and your sinister spell that you learned from Tirek, does it?" Sunset asked.
"Hey, I like power," Cozy Glow said. "It could be for good or for bad, but it's something I like having."
"Well, so long as you behave yourself," Sunset said. "I've sought absolute magic, and-"
"It nearly ruined you, right?" Cozy Glow asked. "Yeah, I know, you tell me all the time."
"Good, whatever gets it lodged in that sinister little brain of yours," Sunset said.
"Please don't call her sinister, I don't want her to relapse," Starlight said.
"It's fine, I won't turn bad now," Cozy Glow said. "I love power, but I really do care about Twilight and her friends, including you Starlight."
"Aw, do you really mean that?" Starlight asked.
"Yeah, you're super cool!" Cozy Glow said. "Using magic to time travel like you did? Even enslaving a village! That's impressive."
"...Here's the thing, she keeps mentioning the bad things," Sunset said.
Cozy Glow rolled her eyes in annoyance, "Alright fine. It was cool when the magic from Twilight and her friends defeated Tirek that one time. There, I can like the good stuff too. Besides, you used magic for evil purposes too once, as you like bringing up. So I don't know why you're so judgmental when it comes to me."
"I'm not judgmental, I just want better for you!" Sunset said.
"And we're all making sure of that," Starlight said. "But we need to not be so quick to say things like calling her sinister."
"I do agree, Cozy Glow has been well behaved as of late," Strange said. "Besides, it's good to know about power, whether it's good or bad. She can follow examples of the good and learn how to avoid the bad."
"I guess," Sunset said.
"You, me and Cozy Glow have all made mistakes," Starlight said. "It's good to learn from each other, and just like I trust you, and I hope you trust me, we need to trust Cozy so she can trust us."
"Relying on others is never easy," Strange said. "Even I have had to learn to do such a thing. I will admit, I myself was quite arrogant prior to obtaining my powers. Sometimes it takes a big event to change your life. But sometimes, just learning to open up helps."
"You needed to learn magic because of what happened to your hands, right?" Starlight asked.
Strange glanced at his hands, "I used to have substantial nerve damage due to a car accident. I had to retire from my job as a surgeon as a result. The change in my life led me to seek enlightenment. As a result, I became the Sorcerer Supreme, a title that had the older me been given, would likely not have taken seriously."
"I swear, when I hear about the backstories you heroes have, it makes me feel like trash because of my very shallow reasons for turning evil when I did," Starlight said. "All that happened to me was that my only friend moved away, which led to a lonely childhood that resulted me in taking over that village."
"Starlight, losing a friend and being lonely is not shallow," Strange said. "It doesn't justify enslaving a village, but loneliness can lead to bitterness. Especially if you felt abandoned."
"I could have just made new friends," Starlight said. "But, I guess deep down, I was worried about losing that friend too."
"A natural feeling," Strange said. "This isn't a competition, we all hurt in different ways, but what matters is trying to be better than you were the day before."
"Yeah, you're right," Starlight said. "Thanks for the advice Stephen."
"I did not tell you anything you don't already know deep down inside," Strange said.
"Oooh, philosophical," Cozy Glow said. "But seriously Starlight, don't sweat it. You're one of the coolest ponies I know, and you're strong too. If I had to emulate power for good, I think you're the best example of that. So I suppose I should be grateful that you're a good role model."
"Heh, thanks for that," Starlight said. She then planted a kiss on Cozy Glow's head. "I'm glad you're not evil."
Cozy Glow immediately began blushing and hid her face behind her book. "Yeah, yeah."
"Wow, that's adorable," Sunset said.
"it certainly is," Strange agreed.
Back in Manehattan, Peter and Twilight had just finished up the show they were seeing.
"Now I'm a dancing poooonyyyyyyyy!" the lead sang as the curtain closed to a round of applause.
"Wow, that wasn't bad actually," Peter said.
"I know, it's such a compelling story!" Twilight gushed. "And the musical numbers were amazing! I love how talented these ponies are!"
"They definitely have pipes," Peter said. "Thanks for suggesting this, I had fun."
"Aw, thanks Peter," Twilight nuzzled the hero. "It means a lot to hear you say that."
Peter awkwardly rubbed his head, "It's nothing."
"We'd like to thank you all for coming today!" The lead mare said, then shined a spotlight on Twilight and Peter. "We're especially honored to have Princess Twilight Sparkle and an Earth Superhero present as well!"
"Oh my...um, thanks, but you were the stars tonight, not me or Spider-Man here!" Twilight insisted.
"Yeah, you're a freaking awesome singer!" Peter said.
"Aw, they're both so humble!" The star said. "Let's have an applause for our guests."
The ponies showered praise onto the two.
"Uh..." Peter awkwardly looked around. "I did not expect the warm welcome."
"Thank you everyone!" Twilight said as she nervously left. "We must go!"
"But, we'll be back...maybe soon...because this was a really good show!" Peter said.
"Wow, you must have really liked this show," Twilight whispered.
"I did, but right now I'm just blabbing," Peter whispered back. "Let's go."
The two had made their way out of the building, happy for the attention, but relieved to be away.
"Well, that happened," Twilight said.
"Hey, it gave us a clean exit," Peter said. "Otherwise we'd have a line waiting just to exit the building."
"Oh yes, very much true," Twilight said.
As they left, they could hear a pair of ponies nearby.
"Hey, did you hear? Princess Twilight is here with one of those humans."
"Ugh, of course. You know I never trusted those bipeds. They come in here acting like the coolest thing in Equestria. They just look like hairless monkeys."
"What do the Princess and her friends see in them?"
"I have no idea, but hopefully this little fad of theirs dies out eventually. We don't need freaks like them in Equestria."
Twilight furrowed her brow as she glanced at Peter, "Ignore them."
"I get this at home too, it's nothing new," Peter said.
"Why would anyone say something like that about you?" Twilight asked. "You're a nice guy, and a superhero."
"I'm a human who can crawl on walls and stuff," Peter said. "That's creepy by our standards. Plus a lot of people are afraid of spiders, so that doesn't help."
"It's so silly," Twilight said.
"Eh, life is full of silly people," Peter said. "It's fine, really. Don't let it bug you."
"...You're so selfless," Twilight said as she glanced at Peter. "You're amazing."
"It's no big deal, I'm just following an example my uncle set, like any good son...er, nephew," Peter shook his head. "Let's just move on."
"Of coruse, where to next?" Twilight asked.
"Got any ideas?" Peter asked.
"I already brought you to the Briddleway Show, now it's your turn," Twilight said. "Anything you want to do."
"Well, there is something I'd like to do," Peter said. "First, I gotta know, do you trust me?"
"Pardon?" Twilight asked.
"Do you trust me?" Peter asked.
"Uh...yeah, I guess?" Twilight asked.
"Good, now climb on my back," Peter said. Hesitantly, Twilight did as told, the mare resting on the hero's back, and feeling how muscular the hero was. Needless to say, she liked it. "Hang on tight!"
"Hey wait...GAH!" Twilight's questioning was interrupted when Peter began swinging in the air. The hero used the city as his own personal jungle gym as he maneuvered around the structure.
For Peter, this felt natural. He felt right at home swinging around the city. For Twilight, this was exhilarating. She wasn't too afraid of falling off, as she could fly or teleport to safety. But the speed and the way she was traveling was definitely unusual to her.
"This is cool, isn't it!?" Peter asked.
"Yeah, really cool!" Twilight said, half genuine and half fearful.
"I do this all the time in New York!" Peter said as he did a few mid-air spins. Nothing to worry Twilight more, but enough to give her a nice thrill.
The swinging was noticeable from all around, by Coco Pommel from her office, by Azure Valor near the dance club, and even by Babs from her salon.
"That Spider-Man fellow looks like he's having fun," Babs said.
"Tell me about it," Scootaloo said. "He looks so natural."
"Well he is from a city like this one," Sweetie Belle said.
"Yeah, he's cool, now please focus on me," Rumble said as he sat in the barber's chair. "I don't want my mane getting messed up."
"Keep it up and I'll slice it all off," Babs warned.
"Please don't! I'm nothing without my mane!" Rumble said.
"Hey, be happy I'm doing this for ya," Babs said. "You did not leave a good first impression on me after all."
"You don't get to talk about that!" Rumble said. "You used to hate me for being a colt!"
"Typical Rumble," Babs said as she styled his mane. "Always living in the past."
Rumble's eyes widened in annoyance, "I'm sorry...WHAT!?"
Scootaloo awkwardly looked away during that, "I'm suddenly reminded of something terrible I once did."
"Yeah, me too..." Sweetie Belle said. "At least I made up for it with my body."
"...Never say that again," Apple Bloom said.
After swinging around a bit, Peter rested on top of the tallest building in the city, the hero looking refreshed. "I really like this place, and this building is amazing. It looks kind of like The Chrysler building."
"Funny, this is actually The Crystaller Building," Twilight said. "I take it that's your favorite in the city?"
"Actually, my favorite is The Empire State Building," Peter said. "The Pride of New York. But this building's cool too."
"Well, thanks for taking me on that swing," Twilight said.
"Thanks for coming to see me today," Peter said. "I hope you weren't worried about this being a date."
"I was, not because I didn't want to date you though," Twilight said. "I was more worried that you wouldn't want to date me."
"Any reason you would feel that way?" Peter asked.
"I'm not sure, maybe it's my own lack of self-confidence," Twilight said, earning a sympathetic gaze from Peter. "You're this big, strong and handsome hero, and I'm, well...me."
"You're a beautiful Princess, if anything I had more reason to worry," Peter said, earning a curious gaze from Twilight. "Honestly, I feel lucky that I get to hang out with you."
"Same here, I feel a personal connection between us," Twilight said. "It's weird, I really do like you, but I'm worried since...well..."
"You don't know if a human dating a pony makes sense," Peter said.
"That's why I've been practicing this spell..." Twilight began to generate some magic from her horn, a lot from what Peter could tell. Within moments, her form changed from pony to human right before Peter's eyes.
The boy immediately lit up, while he believed Twilight was fine as a pony, he could not doubt her beauty as a human girl. "Wow Twilight..."
"Impressive, huh?" Twilight asked. "I can't hold this for long, but I suppose it fits for what I'm about to say."
"Which is?" Peter asked.
"Peter Parker..." Twilight took him by the hand. "Will you be my boyfriend?"
Peter stared in disbelief for a second, before bursting into a chuckle, "Sorry, I'm not laughing at you per say. I just found what you did to be really cute."
"Sorry, I tried reading some romance novels, but they seemed a bit too...out of reach for me," Twilight said. "Plus, it's usually the guy who asks, so didn't know how to ask from a normal female perspective."
"It's fine, I'm really flattered," Peter said. "Twilight Sparkle, I would love to have you as my girlfriend."
Twilight immediately began blushing, "Wow...really!?"
"Of course, we spend so much time together anyway, might as well make it official," Peter said.
"Aw...Peter, I'm so happy that I could just..." Twilight stuttered a bit as her face turned redder.
Within moments, Peter and Twilight leaned in to share a kiss with one another, signifying their bond as a couple.
As they kissed however, Twilight lost her human form and ended right back in her pony form, realizing a second later while she was still kissing Peter. She awkardly backed away.
"My spell wore off," Twilight sheepishly said.
"It's fine," Peter said. "You're still my girlfriend."
Twilight giggled at that, "And I'm so happy too."
Peter looked to the ground below, "Let's go grab something to eat. Anything you like?"
"I love hayburgers," Twilight said.
"Uh...well, is there anything I can eat?" Peter asked.
"There should be," Twilight said. "Come on."
The two returned to the ground and found a place to eat. Twilight got her hayburgers while Peter got what looked like a pizza. It worked well for him since it was normal human food.
As they walked down the street, they passed by Babs's salon, something immediately noticed by the girl as she looked outside to greet them.
"Yo! Princess! Hero Dude!" Babs said.
"It's just Twilight, Babs," the mare said.
"And call me Peter," the hero said.
"Whatever you want," Babs said. "Wanna get your manes done?"
"I'm good, thanks," Twilight said.
"It's called hair with me, and I'm fine too," Peter said. "Maybe next time."
"Sounds good, but um, you wanna see my work?" Babs asked.
"Sure," Twilight said.
Inside the salon, the hair styles were all shown off from the Cutie Mark Crusaders. Apple Bloom had neatly braided hair, Scootaloo had a wind look and Sweetie Belle had a perm.
"Wow...you actually got a perm," Peter said as he glanced at Sweetie Belle.
"Looks cute, doesn't it?" Sweetie Belle asked as she brushed her hair back.
"Well, yeah, you make it work," Peter said, earning a blush from Sweetie Belle. "What about Rumble?"
Nearby, Rumble had what looked like a bowl cut. Needless to say, he did not look happy about it, and was even angrily blushing.
"I knew this was a bad idea," Rumble said.
"You look fine, you big wuss," Babs said.
"Whatever, I'm NOT tipping you!" Rumble said.
"Not like you could afford to anyway," Babs said.
Rumble's eye twitched, "You know what!?"
"Rumble, ease up," Apple Bloom said, then turned to Peter and Twilight. "So, how was yer day?"
"It was fun," Twilight said. "Peter and I did a lot, we'd love to tell you about it when we all go back to Ponyville."
"Right now, we still have some exploring to do," Peter said.
"How do you like our world?" Scootaloo asked.
"It's different, that's for sure," Peter said.
"I hope things weren't too bad for you," Apple Bloom said. "Sometimes ponies can react strangely to different things, especially humans."
"Which is weird, Pinkie Pie has that human friend with the weird red sword with a laser coming out of it," Sweetie Belle said.
"Ah still don't know where Shulk came from," Apple Bloom said.
"Best not to ask when it comes to Pinkie Pie," Twilight said.
"The multiverse is an interesting place," Peter said. "My buddy Ryu, who I met during an invasion that was the result of an X-Men vs Street Fighter tournament, told me about his multiverse travels a lot."
"Oh yeah, I remember you talking about that," Twilight said. "Ryu is such an enlightened man."
"You bet," Peter said. "Some of his fondest memories were part of a large tournament with other fighters from across the multiverse. I tried to join, but I got denied. Not sure why but me and some dude named Goku were told that we didn't fit in."
"That's bogus," Scootaloo said.
"Eh, it's fine," Peter said. "At least I'll have plenty to talk to Ryu and the others about. Especially today. Sometimes the best stories are just about the time we hung out with those we care about."
"Could it really be that entertaining?" Rumble asked. "Especially with your superhero stories?"
"Hey, you remember Sonic?" Peter asked. "His friend Tails will tell you that just hanging out with someone could lead to a big change."
"How big?" Rumble asked.
"Pretty big," Peter said.
In another world, Sonic's friend Tails and his significant other Amy were seen sitting on a picnic blanket, the two just chatting about their day.
"Tails, you ever get the feeling that someone's talking about us?" Amy asked.
"Sometimes," Tails said. "It's nothing weird to me. Sometimes it can be a good thing."
"Unless it's someone saying something mean," Amy said.
"Hey, if they have something mean to say, let them," Tails said. "I'm with you and that's all that matters."
"You're so sweet, Tails," Amy then kissed the boy on the cheek. "Next time we do this, let's make sure to invite Sonic and Sally."
"I think they'd rather do their own thing," Tails said. "But we could try to check in with Fiona, I hear she's doing so much better lately."
"I'm happy she turned her life around, thanks to your influence," Amy said.
"It was a team effort," Tails said. "The power of Friendship."
"Yeah..." Amy looked to the distance. "The power of Friendship."
Back in Equestria.
"Pretty big," Peter said. "The whole Friendship is Magic thing that ponies here say isn't too far off."
"Even Pinkie says that Shulk has friends he's really loyal to," Apple Bloom said.
"You think Samus Aran has friends?" Scootaloo asked.
"That I can't answer," Peter said. "It's possible though."
"Well, be that as it may, I bet you will have plenty to share with your friends," Twilight said. "Especially Johnny."
"Oh, and Rainbow Dash too," Peter said. "Let's go and find them."
"You won't need to, they're outside right now," Apple Bloom said.
"Huh?" Peter turned around and saw Johnny, Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Bobby through some glass. "Well, that's surprising."
Johnny peeked his head inside the salon, "Something happened, I can tell."
"Now spill it," Rainbow Dash said.
Things had gone quite well for Peter and Twilight, especially after professing their admiration for one another. With the two dating, it opened up more possibilities for the two worlds.
Within time, The Elements of Harmony were seen congratulating Twilight in Canterlot Castle, with Pinkie Pie offering to throw a party for the two.
Fluttershy and Applejack looked just as proud, and eagerly awaited what the future for the couple would be like. Trixie and Lightning Dust made playful bets on how long the relationship would last.
Thunderlane was relieved things turned out well, with both Flitter and Cloudchaser agreeing that things turned out like they were supposed to.
Meanwhile Peter's friends were congratulating him as well. Mostly Eddie as he sang his praises the loudest while Gwen, Felicia and Laura did look a bit jealous, but were supportive nonetheless.
Even Tony Stark had to congratulate Peter and wished him luck.
Fortunately, there was no judgement from either side about the romance, and it was immediately accepted. Not that Peter or Twilight cared that much, but they appreciated their friends' welcoming nature.
Cozy Glow stood nearby, the filly herself just as proud, but also worried. She hoped that their happy future could come to pass, especially with Dormammu lurking.
The villains were finalizing their plans, and in due time, they would strike hard and leave Equestria defenseless.
But so long as the Ponies and Heroes had each other, there was hope yet.
The New Year's Eve Tradition Continues with another One-Shot crossover of Friendship's New Flight and The Spider-Crew. What's funny is that it's been ten years since I started FNF. Amazing how much time passes.
Speaking of anniversaries, it's also been ten years since a Sonic story I made called Hanging Out. So I put a little reference to that story as well.
Anyway, Happy New Year!
