Summary: Mokuba watches as his brother takes his relationship to a new level.

Random Talk: This is now a series of one-shots where Mokuba is observing Kaiba's relationship. The first is technically Feline of a Different Coat, but that was unintentional. You can read this without having read the other.

Dueling Ring

Mokuba watched the friendly duel happen in front of him. Kaiba wanted to do a test run of his new Duel Disk, so who better than his long-term boyfriend. Watching the two trade jabs, it might not have felt like it's friendly one but it was a lot tamer then the kinds they had before they got together. Seeing their signature dragons stare down one another was still a sight he would never get tired of.

"Aw... Is that all you got, Pup?" Kaiba purred. "Did your luck finally run out?"

"You still with me, aren't you?" Jonouchi jabbed back. "I guess my luck is still there. I'll just leave these two cards face down and end my turn. Your move, Sweetie."

Kaiba smirked at those words, but Mokuba could see the faint blush on his brother's cheeks. No one ever got to see this side of the two outside of their group of close friends and a few others. He remembered when Pegasus saw them act all sweet for the first time. If it wasn't for his quick acting, Mokuba dreaded to think what could have happened to the childish CEO just from actually squealing at how cute they were. Thankfully he managed to get Pegasus to promise not to tell a soul about their relationship.

A ringtone from a popular cartoon interrupted Kaiba's next move. Jonouchi scrambled to pull out his cell phone to see who was calling him. Eyes widened before he answered it.

"Hey Shizuka!" Jonouchi said. "What's up? … Wait, what do you mean Honda is panicking? … He lost it!? Okay, okay, I'll be there in a few minutes. I'm actually at Kaiba Corp right now so it won't take long for me to get to his apartment. See you guys soon!"

"Don't tell me, he actually lost the ring," Kaiba said as he pulled out his phone. Jonouchi nodded as he started to pack his stuff up, cursing the whole time. "I had a feeling that would happen. I'll try to stall Otogi, but I can't guarantee anything. You better hurry otherwise I'm going be dealing with a bitchy dice boy for not getting the proper proposal he deserved at his birthday."

"Thanks!" Jonouchi chirped as he ran over to give Kaiba a kiss on his cheek. "Love you!"

Kaiba smiled as he watched the blond leave in a rush. Mokuba could see a look in his eyes he was all too familiar with lately. Ever since Honda came to them to help get the perfect ring to propose to Otogi, Kaiba would get this distant look in his eyes. While he could fool almost everyone, Mokuba knew his brother too well.

"Why don't you just propose already?" Mokuba sighed as he got up from the bench he was perched at. "I know you both agreed to keep your relationship a secret for whatever reason you two had. I still think it was stupid, especially after being together for two years now."

"I wanted to talk to you about that," Kaiba said as he put his phone away. "I know you have been working on your art skills lately. You feel like designing a custom ring for me to give Katsuya?"

Violet eyes lit up as Mokuba gained a Cheshire grin. With an enthusiastic nod, he ran to give his brother a quick hug before running off to finish the design he had started in secret for such an occasion.

Almost a month had passed since the two last dueled, Mokuba noted. Now that the school year had finished and they had finally graduated high school, they finally had time to actually hang out. He had also gotten the little something his brother requested yesterday and gave it to him right away. By the satisfied smile Kaiba had when he first saw it, his design was exactly what he wanted. It was a great thing Mokuba had Kaiba's full trust in his skills otherwise today would have been a wash.

"So, what we going to wager today?" Jonouchi asked as he shuffled his deck. "Let me guess, the usual? I know you have been wanting to see that horror movie for whatever reason."

"As much as I would love to torment you just so you can cling onto me, I have a better idea," Kaiba smirked while pressing a few keys on a nearby computer to start data collecting. "Loser has to answer any question the winner asks."

"Oooo! We haven't had that be the prize for awhile!" Jonouchi snickered. "Alright, prepare to lose!"

It felt like ages since Mokuba had seen the two actually duel this intensely. While still friendly, it felt like they were dueling for their lives. To Mokuba, he knew there was some truth to it, but didn't want to ruin the surprise. Knowing the two, they would get upset if he gave any hint of what was planned.

The back and forth of attacks reached a climax when Kaiba was about to attack Jonouchi's Red Eyes with his Blue Eyes to end the duel only for Jonouchi to play his Skull Dice. Luck was on the blond's side as he didn't roll a one, making his Red Eyes stronger than Kaiba's Blue Eyes. While disappointment was present in Kaiba's eyes from his loss, it was obvious to Mokuba that he still had fun.

"Alright! Since I win you have to answer my question!" Jonouchi laughed as he jumped up in excitement.

"Deal's a deal, Pup," Kaiba said as he walked over to the computer to make sure the data was saved. He wasn't paying attention to behind him as he double checked the data, but was concerned since his boyfriend wasn't speaking. A cough interrupted his keystrokes, making the brunet turn around.

There on one knee right behind him was one Jonouchi Katsuya with a ring box in his hand. Kaiba's eyes widened as the blond opened the box to see a titanium ring with a sapphire in the middle. It was obvious the ring was custom made as it depicted their signature dragons surrounding the stone.

"I know we hated each other from the first minute we saw each other," Jonouchi said with a chuckle. "I just can't see myself with anyone else now. You basically brought a strange normalcy I didn't know I was missing: a comforting family. I'm not chancing losing it and you. So, will you marry me?"

Kaiba's mouth dropped. His brain actually short-circuited for once. When it finally caught up, he looked up to Mokuba. The young teen was smiling while recording the scene with his phone. Kaiba knew that particular smile and responded with a quick glare before pulling out a similar box from his pocket.

"Looks like Mokuba decided to go behind our backs to plot this out," Kaiba said. Jonouchi looked confused as Kaiba looked away with a blush and opened the box. In it was a near identical ring, only it was mirrored. The only other changes was that the titanium was black and the sapphire was replaced with a ruby. Jonouchi blinked before laughing as the realization hit him.

"I guess that's a yes?" Jonouchi asked. Kaiba smirked and nodded.

Mokuba grin widened as the two put the rings on the other before sharing a kiss. This was well worth the grounding he would get later on.

Random Talk: This is where I realized I had a series. I had written another one-shot where I had the two engaged already and just kept thinking how it happened. My friend pointed out when I mentioned this fic and other one that Feline also fits in the same universe. I have one more one-shot completed (the one that basically help create this one) and I might have one more if I can figure out what I want to accomplish with that one. I was going to have five one-shots all together, but the fifth literally went on totally different path than the one I had planned and became a multi-chapter fic. This still does play into that one, but I didn't want to change the wording to fit completely. I guess you can say it's a Schrödinger's fic: they are and aren't related at the same time.
