2. The Vagabond

After walking through the door Rose or rather her new identity as Red aka the Vagabond finds herself riding along the highways and streets of miami city in her/yusei's duel runner

'Okay if i remember right from what the guys told me i need to head for the docks which are this way' following the map on the runners screen red navigates down to the docks and coming from one of the warehouses is the sounds of a duel

'Okay then at least i know relatively what I'm getting into' Red parks the runner and gets off before unplugging the duel disk from the front, putting one of her decks in and walking into said warehouse where she sees a blonde kid getting destroyed by a masked boy with spikey purple hair standing behind a large black and purple dragon

Holding up her disk she activates it just as the duel concludes "That wasn't very nice of you kid how about you duel me instead"

The masked boy turns his head to look at red "Why would i do that?" He then spots the letters on her hat and his eyes widen duel disc flaring to life "Academia bastard!"

Yuto LP 4000, Cards 5

Vagabond LP 4000, Cards 5

Red and Yuto stare at each other and say a single word as they begin "DUEL!"

"I'll take the first turn. I'll set five cards face down and end my turn" Yuto sets five cards in the spell/trap zones just as he did to Satawari minutes prior

"Fine by me. Draw" Drawing a card from her deck Red picks one from her hand and places it in the monster zone "Via it's effect i special summon Gilasaurus from my hand"

"I then normal summon Animadorned Archosaur in attack mode"

"Using Animadorned's effect upon his summon i can destroy a dinosaur or reptile in my hand and add an evolution pill spell from my deck to my hand. I'll destroy babycerasaurus and add double evolution pill" Red places the baby into the graveyard and adds the pill from her deck "Next up babycerasaurus' effect triggers from the graveyard

Yuto looks surprised "From the graveyard?"

"That's right. When destroyed it's effect allows me to summon a level four or lower Dinosaur from my deck and i choose the tuner monster scrap Raptor!"

"Tuner monster can just anyone get extra deck summoning now!?" Satawari is definitely frustrated by the fact red can use tuners

Red grabs Scrap Raptor from her deck and places it in the monster zone causing it to appear

"Yup and I'll use it's effect i can destroy Scrap Raptor and add another scrap monster to my hand in addition to this i get a second normal summon"

"I won't let you do that. I activate the trap Phantom Knights Fog Blade on your Raptor" One of Yuto's face downs flips up revealing the continuous trap

"Doesn't matter because my level 4 Scrap Raptor is going be tuning with level 3 Gilasaurus!" The two monsters jump into the air with Scrap Raptor turning into four rings and Gilasaurus into three stars

"Wings of blood red crimsion. Thorns sharp as a needles. A dragon from ancient past, Rise and show us your Destructive Beauty." Red raises her right arm "I Synchro Summon... BLACK ROSE DRAGON!"

Dragon, Synchro, Effect

Atk 2400/Def 1800

The fourth person in the warehouse, a teen with bright pink hair looks in awe at the flowery dragon "woah so pretty"

"When black rose dragon is successfully summoned it's effect lets it blow away every card on the field" Red points forward at yuto "Go Black Rose Gale!"

A hurricane of rose petals whips up and destroys everything on the field

Yuto glares at red in annoyance "So what now we're just back to square one"

"Are we?" Red places a card into a spell slot "I activate the spell Double Evolution Pill

"By banishing a dinosaur and non dinosaur from my graveyard i can summon a level seven or higher dinosaur monster from my deck ignoring it's summoning condition"

"WHAT!?" Yuto's eyes widen in shock

"I banish Scrap Raptor and Black Rose Dragon for the cost" Red takes the monster she wants and places it on the duel disk "Blazing rex born of volcanoes. Erupt from the earth and make all fear your power. Roar TRANSCENDOSAURUS METEORUS!"

"When summoned i can send a dinosaur to the graveyard so I'll be sending Frostasaurus. After that I'll discard Miscellaneousaurus then I'll use it's effect in the graveyard"

"I'll banish itself, Animadorned Archosaur, Gilasaurus and Frostasaurus to summon my partner. TYRANNO INFINITY!"

Tyranno Infinity

Earth

"Tyranno Infinity gains attack equal my banished dinosaur monster multiplied by a thousand"

Tyranno Infinity Atk ? - 5000/ Def ? - 5000

"Battle. Meteorus attack him directly, Magma Storm!" Meteorus blows a cylindrical wave of fire from it's mouth at yuto sending him flying back into the warehouse wall behind him

Yuto LP: 4000 - 1000

'Shit that looks like it hurt. I'll end this fast'

"Tyranno Infinity end this now, INFINITY ATTACK!" The dinosaur monster charges yuto and hits the boy with its horn ending the duel

Yuto LP 1000 - 0

Winner Vagabond

At the same time the duel was happening over in the control room at the Leo Duel School Declan Akaba is watching several duels across the city

One of his subordinates brings something to his attention "Ma'am we've detected a strong summoning energy by the docks!"

Declan intrigued by this requests answers "What kind of summoning energy?"

The subordinate check his monitor "One hundred percent confirmed to be a Synchro Summon. Would you like me to pull up the duel on the main monitor?"

Declan nods her head "Yes"

Said duel is pulled up showing the battle between Yuto and Red

"Black Rose Dragon? What information do we have on the duelist in red?" Declan is definitely interested now

"That's the thing sir there's nothing all we can get from the duel is that his name is registered as Vagabond he's not even using a modern duel disc" Upon this information being relayed declan's interest turns to curiosity

Suddenly the scene of black rose using her ability is shown then the feed continues showing the summoning of Meteorus

"That monster has power equal to Flame king Ghengis Ma'am" one of the subordinates says

"What about the dragon?"

Pulling up the prior reading subordinate 2 answers his question "It's power appears to be on par with Oracle King d'Arc Ma'am"

'On par with d'Arc? Incredible' Declan watches on with what one would call childlike wonder as this mystery duelist effortlessly summons a 5000 attack monster and ends the duel in an OTK

Back in the warehouse Red goes over to where yuto sits against the wall of the warehouses

Yuto glared at red although he seems sad knowing his fate "Go on then, hurry up and card me!"

Red looks at him confused "Card you? What do you mean" Red extends her hand to him "Whatever you're talking about i don't care that was a fun match Yuto"

Yuto hesitates for a moment but does eventually take her hand getting pulled to his feet by her in doing so "Why haven't you carded me and what's with this attitude?"

Red looks confused "I don't know what your problem with Duel Academy is but why would i do whatever that is? You make it sound like you thought i was going to hurt you"

Yuto scowls "Because that's what you do that's all you ever do! Academia invaded my home, destroyed everything and carded anyone you saw!"

Now it's Red's turn to be shocked her friends didn't tell her about this "What? no. I would never do something like that duels are supposed to be fun and I'm definitely not from this Academia place. I mean sure i went and graduated from duel academy but i haven't been back in years not to mention I'm not from any of these dimensions"

Yuto just looks confused no "So you're not from Academia but an entirely different Duel Academy?"

Red smiles "Yup, spent four years there and they were the best four years of my life. I go by Vagabond by the way although my friends call me Red"

"I need to think about..." Yuto gets cut off as he disappears in a blinding light that comes from the pink haired girl's bracelet

After uncovering her shadow covered eyes Red looks around to find yuto missing "Woah he disappeared!"

"Huh? Where'd yuya go?" The pinkette also looks around confused as she calls out for her friend "Yuya? Yuya where are you?"

A new voice calls from outside the warehouse as a boy with bright green and red hair appears in the doorway "Yuzu!"

"Huh what in the?" The girl presumably named Yuzu looks from this new boy to where Yuto was just standing and back

"Yuzu there you are. Are you alright?" The boy seems genuinely concerned for her

"I'm fine thanks to you. You were just here and dueling her" Yuzu points to red who gives them a small wave

"Huh what do you mean? I've been looking for you this whole time?" The boy looks completely baffled

"What? So strange..." Yuzu mumbles this under her breath making the boy unable to hear

While the two are conversing Red sneaks outside and puts her helmet on before getting on her Duel Runner and riding off into the night
