First chapter published in the new year! I can't believe it's 2025, that doesn't even sound real...

I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday season!

Some things that I want to go over:

I know in my first and second episodes of Season 4: Ghost of a Legend and Partners in Crime, I made it so that Danny, Sam, and Tucker were still 14. Well, I realized that if I want to write certain things, I need to age them up a bit, and in any case, technically the trio was 17 in Phantom Planet... considering that they were 14 in 2004 and two summer episodes happened and Phantom Planet premiered in 2007. So I am making them 17 in the first few episodes, and they will be 18 in my Season Finale. So if you reread Ghost of a Legend or Partners in Crime, please imagine them 17 lol.

With that being said, the trio have obviously developed in their bodies. So Danny and Tucker are taller, more built now with defined muscles, and resemble men than their scrawny 14-year-old selves. Danny has more defined muscles since he fights ghosts though. Sam also grew a few inches and has more defined curves, slim but also not a scrawny young teenager anymore.

Okay! Now that that is clarified, please continue below!

Tucker had his head in his locker, staring at his phone intensely as he waited for the bubbles to turn into words. "Oh c'mon!" He exclaimed as the bubbles disappeared.

"Hey Tucker," Sam called out as she and Danny walked to his locker.

"What's up, dude?" Danny asked.

"Nothing, just waiting for Melody to respond to me already!" Tucker whined as he glared at his phone. Panic came over his face quickly as he looked at his friends, "you don't think she's getting cold feet do you!?"

"No, Tuck. I'm sure she's just busy. I promise she will show up tomorrow. You just need to relax a little," Sam said as she placed her hand on his shoulder.

Tucker sighed and slouched his shoulders a bit as he stuffed his phone back in his pocket. "Yeah, you're probably right."

"You don't want to respond to her too fast anyway, Tucker. Keep her wanting more," Danny suggested with a cocky grin.

Sam glared at Danny and took her hand away from his. "Oh is that right?"

Panic quickly set in Danny, "No! What I meant is that Tucker should only do that since he's still trying to get with Melody."

"Oh so, you think you're settled with me?" Sam raised an eyebrow at his statement.

"No! I mean, of course, we're together, but that doesn't mean that I'm not still trying with you. It's just Tucker has to try harder."

"Why do I have to try harder?" Tucker said getting annoyed himself.

"You mean, you don't have to try as hard?" Sam added.

Danny was stammering at this point, not sure what to say next, and afraid to dig himself into a deeper hole. When his ghost sense went off, he sighed in relief.

"Thank you to whoever it is," Danny mumbled under his breath. "Uh guys, ghost sense, so I have to go," Danny said as he transformed into Phantom and turned intangible as he flew up to the roof.

"Are we forgetting this?" Tucker asked Sam.

"Nope," Sam responded as they walked to their class.

Danny turned tangible as he landed his feet on the roof. "Whoever it is, I'll let you off on a warning since you helped me out," he called out.

Behind him, he saw something move behind him. He heard the hum of electricity coming his way. Reacting to it, he quickly formed an ice shield stopping the shocks coming at him.

"Oh hey, you again," Danny said feigning friendliness as he shot an ice beam at them. The Ghost didn't react fast enough as they were pushed back from the ice beam, smashing into a brick wall and falling to their knees.

Danny walked up to them calmly, "Do I get a name this time? Cause fair warning if I don't, I'm just gonna give you a nickname and you might not like it."

The ghost shot another electric ball, this time sluggish at Danny so it was easy for him to dodge.

"Okay, Sparky, I have class in a few minutes, so I can't play for long," Danny said as she shot an ecto ball at the ghost, singeing their jacket on the sleeve.

Danny noticed a birthmark on her right wrist and strangely thought how it looked like the state of Florida.

"Why does that look so familiar?" Danny's eyes widened thinking back to Tucker when he met Melody.

"Oh wow, that's a pretty cool birthmark! Has anyone told you that it looks like Florida? Ya know the state? Uh, did I mention your name is really pretty?"

"Melody?" Danny stammered, taking a step back.

With his defense down, the ghost shot an electric ball at Danny, pushing him back against the brick wall on the other side. The ghost stood up and shot an electric blast at Danny that packed a bigger punch than her other attacks.

The pain from the ghost's attack that coursed through Danny, caused him to scream in agony. Against his own will, he turned back into Fenton as he slumped to the ground. As he lifted his head to look at the ghost, he could feel himself on the verge of passing out. What he saw last was the ghost flying unsteadily towards him and holding a syringe in her hand.

A groan escaped from Danny's lips as he tried to open his eyes. Having a hard time opening them, he brought his hands around the surface so he could guess where he was. It didn't feel like cement anymore, so he didn't think he was on the roof anymore. In fact, it almost felt like a bed. He gripped at the sheet to see if he could tell if he was in his own bed, trying to see if this was his comforter or not. When it felt more like sandpaper, he concluded that he wasn't in his bed.

"Danny…" He heard a voice. He knew that voice. He lifted his head gingerly to wake himself up.

"Danny?" He could feel their slender fingers on his shoulder, bringing his head back on the pillow.

"Danny, you're okay. Just relax," The voice said again. The voice felt warm to him, like home. The voice belonged to his favorite person.

"Sam?" He mumbled. He meant for it to sound louder, but he wasn't able to get his voice above a breath. He then opened his eyes slightly to see Sam sitting right next to him. He gave her a small smile, trying to hide the pain.

"Hey, you okay?" Sam asked as she brought her hand up to his forehead to push his hair out of his face.

"Yeah…what happened?" Danny grunted.

"Well, we got about 15 minutes into class before Tucker and I started worrying. When we were about to excuse ourselves, we heard a loud thud on the roof. We ran out and got to the roof where we found you passed out. We didn't see the ghost though…"

"Sam," Danny said as he sat up a bit and grabbed her hand. "The other ghost, I think it was -"

"Melody!" Tucker shouted, pushing the curtain away and sitting at the end of Danny's bed.

"W-what?" Danny stuttered.

"Melody texted me!" Tucker said, showing his phone screen to his friends.

"Tucker, your friend got seriously injured and you're worried about a girl texting you," Sam said glaring at him.

Tucker ignored Sam's glare, "like getting injured is new for him," he then turned to Danny, "I'm glad you're okay, but you get it, this is about a girl. A girl, dude!"

Danny looked at Tucker and saw the stupid giddy smile on his face. He was clearly not thinking straight and was just consumed with Melody. But he couldn't bring himself to break his bubble; he knew what it felt like to be on cloud 9, he's basically been a permanent resident since he and Sam got together. Looking at Tucker now, and seeing he was excited, he didn't want to break it until he was absolutely sure it was Melody.

"Yeah, I get it dude. No worries," Danny said carefully as Sam rolled her eyes.

Tucker gave Danny an appreciative light punch on the arm, "Think you can still come to the date tomorrow?"

"Shit, the date…"

"Yeah, I'll be fine," Danny said quickly. The bell rang alerting the students that it was time to move on to their next class. Tucker quickly put his phone in his pocket and waved at his friends.

"I'll see you guys later!" He shouted as he ran out of the Nurse's office. Danny groaned out of frustration and laid back on the bed, shutting his eyes.

Sam turned back at his groan, sat on the bed, and grabbed his hand. "What else is going on?"

"We might have a problem," Danny muttered as he looked into her eyes. Suddenly, he turned intangible unwillingly and phased right threw the bed, landing with a thud on the hard ground.

"Are you okay?" Sam asked, surprised.

Danny shook his head and gasped. Why and how did that happen? He hasn't lost control of his powers since he first got them. Why was it happening now? Danny scooted out from under the bed and stood up, looking at his hands. His eyebrows furrowed as he tried to make sense of why that happened. Suddenly, he shot an ecto blast at the wall, narrowly missing Sam. Sam yelped as she looked back at the wall, seeing the burnt marks of Danny's blast.

"Oh my god! Sam, I'm so sorry! Are you okay?!" Danny asked rushing to her side. "I don't know why that happened!" Before he could grab her hand, he turned intangible again phasing through the floor. The last thing Sam heard was a yelp of shock out of Danny's mouth.

"Make that two problems," Sam said grabbing her bag and running out of the door to find Danny.
