"I can't gelieve this day has come. Our lil birdie's first day of school and she's probably up or jumping on her bed in excitement." Darcy heard Howard say. It was two and a half years later and Linda had turned three and her third birthday had been fun plus Shocket had been her guest because she didn't have other friends so excited for her first day of preschool knowing she and Shocket would be in Rocket's dad's class and Rocket Senior was an awesome teacher getting up seeing Linda in a pink top with black trousers making Darcy and Howard chuckle, happy she'd dressed herself meaning what they were teaching her involving life skills was working.
"Good morning honey, and see somebody's ready for her first day. Shocket's probably excited too." Darcy told her as Linda nodded leaving her mom and dad's room knowing they had to get ready along with make breakfast sitting at the table seeing her dad up making pancakes seeing Darcy join him kissing him making Linda giggle, knowing her mom and dad loved each other.
"We made lunch last night, after you went to bed." Howard told Linda asking about this.
"That's good, and Aunt Nebula and you were probably talking." she told them while eating.
They then heard the doorbell seeing it was Nebula and Rocket with Emily and Shocket making Linda excitedly hug Shocket making her grin along with Emily seeing Linda grab her backpack joining them seeing her parents going with them. There was no way Darcy and Howard were missing this, their lil birdie's first day of school which was something they'd been very excited about.
They were impressed arriving at Xaviers heading to the preschool room seeing other parents looking anxious compared to them and their kids only Rocket was very confused by their judgey looks as his big, fluffy armour wearing dad was very gentle yet wise and the best preschool teacher knowibg those parents had nothing to worry about seeing Shocket and Emily hug their grandpa noticing some parents leavibg with their kits making Rocket Senior sad despite Rocket's encouragment not to worry about judgey parents..
"It's okay, as they are snooty parents." Rocket reassured his dad. "Thanks buddy." he whispered before leading his lil furbeans into the classroom showibg them around with Linda and Shocket but Emily noticed Shocket was quiet despite Linda being by her side sitting on the rug with the other kits listening to Poppa Marshmallow talking to them introducing himself allowing them to call him Marshmallow making them giggle along with Linda and Shocket making them curious after putting their stuff in their cubbies.
"This is awesome, and it's only our first day." Linda whispered to Shocket.
"Yep, and he's giving us… pillows. I'm confused." Shocket whispered.
"We're gonna turn them into feeling pillows, which you can hug when sad, or need comfort but you can't hit anybody with them, when angry." Rocket Senior said to them. He told them they could draw anything they wanted on them making the class run to their tables. Linda had drawn her with her mom and dad only Shocket smiled at this but the markers were hovering out of the pot on Linda's side of their desk knowing things like this happened a lot with her bestie.
"Oopsie, sorry Shocket. My powers came out didn't they." Linda asked blushing.
"It's okay Linda, we're used to these things happening but it was funny." Shocket told her. Linda smiled as she cleaned up her mess like her parents taught her to when she made a mess either with by normal means or her powers seeing Shocket's pillow which had her, Emily, their parents and Linda which made the lil duckling surprised but touched by it alomg with Poppa Marshmallow when he saw Shocket's. "I love it sweetie and know today's overwhelming since like the other kits, Emmy and Linda adjusted easy. It's fine you take your time." he whispered into her furry ear which eased Shocket's anxiety a lil.
"Thanks Grandpa Marshmallow." she whispered back seeing him go check on the other kits.
"Feeling better, you've been quiet all morning. But makijg the pillow is helping." Linda said.
"It's time to go pick our lil birdie up. Let's hope she had a good first day." Darcy told Howard.
"Yeah and if she didn't, we can make her feel better like Nebula and Rocket with Emily and Shocket." Howard replied.
They were leaving the house, but arrived at school with the other parents seeing Rocket Senior at the open door of the preschool room but Linda ran up to her parents relieving Darcyvand Howard their lil birdie had a good first day which Nebula and Rocket saw that Emily looked like she had a good first day only Shocket was quiet which bothered Rocket as they went home and at home, Emily was showing them her feelings pillow and how they worked which they got seeing Shocket hugging hers but also Quacker her stuffed duck making Nebula and Rocket sense, Shocket had a hard day.
"We should leave her be, as she found it hard, which Grandpa Marshmallow noticed." Emily said.
