Happy New Year everyone! It's 2025 and hopefully things will be looking up. And to start off with the new year we have a new story. Or rather a reboot of one of my stories. This is the remake of my first Naruto and Percy Jackson story: The Mortal God.

I made that story a long time ago and god I feel bad about it. If you cant look back on your old work and not cringe at it or see how you can do better, then you haven't improved at all. And I feel this way when looking back so I got this planned out, what major differences will be made and overall what hopefully becomes a new and entertaining story. So for old friend coming over to see what changed? Welcome back. To any newcomers that wish to see where this journey will take us: welcome aboard! We are all ready so full speed ahead!~

We now have a Discord server! Feel free to stop by, say hi, and hang out. I can answer questions for stories, new ideas in the works, or just talk and hear your ideas. The Link to the server should be on my profile page and if that doesn't work send me a PM (not a review) and I will help you out. This will be my first time doing something like this so all I ask is go easy on me and just don't be rude to each other. Hope to see you there.

The Impossible Half-blood

Chapter One: The Son of Two Worlds

The Elemental Nation, a world unlike any seen before. There the people themselves hold a power and energy needed for life but learn to control and use that power for their own. Able to summon, command, and battle with the very elements. The ability to cast illusions to confuse, blind, and trap enemies in horrible nightmares. The limitations of this power which was later known as Chakra, were only by the weirder, how they trained, and their imagination. A world of their own culture, governments, and of course Gods that rule and keep the balance of the world. The main warriors who used these powers were known as shinobi. Throughout the Elemental Nation's history, all was in an uneasy peace between the shinobi clans (which later became large villages of different clans) and the gods. Then something happened that no one predicted, not even the gods…the Elemental Nations were discovered by another pantheon.

This pantheon known as the Olympian Gods, discovered this world pass a dimensional gap separating the worlds known simply as the Vail. Normally when two pantheons would meet, uneasy tensions would be seen as best results and calamity at worst. However, the Olympians discovered a side effect when passing through the Vail; a heavy restriction of their powers.

They were still immortal but their powers, skills, and strength were heavily reduced. Comparably they were slightly stronger than their half-blood children, even if they still had access to their powers. With their powers in a weakened state, no conflict could last between them and the pantheon of the Elemental Nation (the Shinto pantheon), and agreements were made between the two pantheons. Even Zeus, one of the strongest, stubborn, and paranoid of the Olympians, knew any battles between the pantheons wouldn't gain them anything and reluctantly agreed to meet for peace talks. He would however admit he could respect the Shinto pantheon's levels of hospitality as they came into agreements.

The Olympians had nothing to gain from fighting except defeat and the Shinto had no desire to even cross the Vail to the world of Olympians. In the end, the agreement that left both sides happy enough was simple yet binding. The Olympian pantheon may travel and visit the Elemental Nation without being impeded by the Shinto pantheon, so long they follow the rules and laws of the world. Should they cause trouble that attracts the attention of the Shinto gods, they would be detained and sent back.

This agreement worked as both pantheons came to a sense of relative peace. The Olympians use their travels as a vacation of short, slow them to relax without the responsibilities of their domain. They can't stay forever of course but even Zeus took his wife Hera with him more than once as an extra honeymoon.

From their travels of the Olympians using the Nations as a retreat, they found that time through the Vail seemed to fluctuate with time moving faster in either Earth or the Elemental nations. At times years can pass while barely any has passed for the other and then switch. The pantheon manages to find a pattern enough to use to their advantage even if they have no control over it otherwise. They did however use it to their advantage to maximize their time on vacation without worrying about leaving for too long. Many gods did this including one goddess that was returning to the Elemental Nations.

Years ago she had taken her first long vacation to the Elemental nations as the other times were much shorter trips. The last time she was able to spend a few years in her domain while it was closer to ten years spent in the Elemental Nations. She spent time traveling to places she rarely saw and ended up staying most of her time in one of the largest Hidden Ninja Villages. They were called villages but they were closely classified as small cities, with their own number of shinobi clans, military, economy, and government. These villages were the main places where shinobi would take missions of different classes and skills for profit towards the village. This included a training school for anyone who wished to train and become shinobi themselves to carve their own path.

She settled in one of the strongest known villages, The Hidden Village in the Leaves. There she found many she would later call as close to mortal friends as a goddess could have without being her followers. They knew she was a goddess yet most of them treated her relatively the same since she wasn't part of their pantheon nor were they her followers. She had enjoyed her time there but the most surprising of all, at least for her was when she fell in love.

It wasn't right away as when she first met him, she wasn't all that impressed. But soon he had become her friend and he treated her like a friend as well. There was something about him that caught her eye but wasn't sure what it was. But as the years went by, she slowly and surely had feelings for him, though she wasn't going to tell him that…at least for a few years. In about three years before she had left the Elemental Nations she finally came to terms with her emotions and when they were alone, confessed to him. She felt like a fool being a goddess yet confessing like she was a modern school girl with her crush. To her relief, he confessed that he also had feelings for her yet didn't wish to ruin their friendship. Then she also found out he had a suspicion of her feelings and had waited for her to make the first move so she could go at the pace that was right for her. She was grateful for this but damn if it didn't infuriate her at the same time.

They took the relationship slowly as they both knew she would need to leave for home and wouldn't know when she would be able to return. Still, they were happy until something unexpected happened…the goddess discovered she was carrying a child.

Normally this wouldn't be unexpected as plenty of Olympians have half-blood children of their own, but the problem was the father wasn't a normal mortal. For her lover was a half-blood himself with him already knowing of his heritage. Again that alone wasn't the issue…if his godly parent was an Olympian as well. Her lover was the son of one of the Shinto pantheons, making it so her child carried the legacy of two different pantheons. Such a thing should have been impossible, no two different pantheons can mix even the Greek and Roman gods. And yet she was carrying her own child which was considered impossible.

This fact alone made them worry for their child's safety, and the goddess quickly found out she was having a son. But despite their worries and fears the couple also felt nothing but love between them and their child. While her time was waning down before she would have to leave, she carried her son to term and gave birth to a healthy baby boy. But what should have been one of the greatest moments of her life…it ended in tragedy.

The very night she gave birth, the village was attacked. Not just any attack but a powerful monster of the Elemental Nation. They were known as the Tailed Beast and they range in strength by the number of tails they have. From what she understood the difference between tails scaled greatly with even a single tail difference meant the other was ten times stronger than the last. They ranged from a single tail to a total of nine…and that was the one that had attacked the village.

The attack was sudden, and the Nine-Tailed Fox appeared in the village itself, causing untold destruction and death to those around it. Yet the village sprang into action, trying to force it out of the village and attempt to defeat it, even if it would cost them their lives. The goddess knew of the Nine-Tails, and how it can crumble entire mountains and force tsunamis with a single swing of its tails. The power was almost immeasurable with malice and bloodlust pouring off its very body. Even if she wasn't in labor, even if she wasn't weakened to a near Half-blood state, she knew even at her peek she wouldn't be able to defeat this beast alone. The power rivaled that of Typhon, the father of all monsters, and when she first heard about it she was skeptical of the claim. But feeling the power that night she knew it wasn't baseless boasting.

While she gave birth to her son, she wasn't sure what would happen as she felt the power and fighting even if she wasn't close to the actual battlefield. That was when she discovered that the shinobi had discovered a way to contain and imprison the Tailed Beast. She figured it might be something similar to how Zeus had tricked and trapped Typhon under a mountain. But the way it was done stunned her. With help from the gods, they discovered that the powers and body of a Tailed Beast can be sealed away inside the body of a person. There were a few catches with the stronger the Tailed Beast, the younger the host must be to safely contain the power as they grow so it would not escape. The problem was the higher-ranking Tailed Beast with the Seven, Eight, and Nine-Tailed Beasts could only be contained in the body of a half-blood child. When her love came to her while the battle was raging, it didn't take her long to realize what he was saying. He had planned on sealing the Nine Tail Fox inside of their son.

He had begged for her forgiveness for such a terrible choice. She was angry with him as he explained how the Nine-Tailed Fox was only defeated and sealed once before in the body of a half-blood that was able to handle its power. He couldn't use himself as the host due to his abilities and charka systems being fully developed and wouldn't be able to handle the strain. Such an act would end up destroying his body and releasing the beast right then and there. Worse was the kind of sealing required the aid of Shinigami, the Shinto God of death and the dead. The price for the ritual would be his own soul, sent not to the afterlife of the Elemental Nations but eaten by the Shinigami.

The goddess pleaded but she knew this was the only way. If the Nine Tail Fox wasn't defeated it would destroy the entire village and her son alone with it. She might be able to survive due to her immortality but even then, she would be in danger of fading from her injuries and being away from her temple. With a heavy heart, the goddess gave her lover their son, sharing one caring kiss before he rushed back to the battlefield.

The next morning the battle was over, the village was collecting the heroes that died fighting and the goddess was alone with her son. She helped bury her love, giving her own prayers and unsure of what will come to her son. She was to return in a week and her son was now alone. With a heavy heart, she kept her son close to her whispering sweet nothings and softly begging for forgiveness. When the deadline finally came, she sang him one last lullaby and gave him to a mentor of her love. She trusted that they would keep him safe as she wouldn't know how long it would be before she could even return. As she returned home, her mind said that was the way it was…her heart said it wasn't fair.

Now she had returned after who knows how many years. She planned on heading to the village once more, wondering what her son was doing, wondering how he managed to grow up. Her inner turmoil was broken when she noticed she was coming upon a clearing near a massive waterfall. The roaring waters almost thundered between two giant statues facing each other. She recalled how they were in honor of the founders of the Hidden Leaf Village, whose battle had created this small valley. Honestly, it reminded her of some of the temples she and the other Olympians had in their prime. But her focus shifted as she saw a new battle was going on at the feet of the statues. She could tell they were young boys, one taking a monster appearance with grey skin and large leather wings that were shaped like hands. In his hands was what looked like he was holding black lighting, the sound of many birds could be heard all around the valley coming from the attack. She recalled a student of her love creating a similar attack and wondered if that was how this boy learned of it.

The other boy however was shorter, had blond hair, and held whisker-like marks on his face, wearing what looked like an orange jumpsuit. The goddess's first thought was it looked like something Apollo would love to have. But it was the orange aura that glowed around the boy, giving the shape of an animal, similar to that of a fox. He too held an attack in his hands, one she recognized almost at once. The very same one that her love created and took inspiration from some of the legends he heard about.

Yes, she could tell the orb of energy was spinning in every direction at once. The Rasengan. She couldn't help but wonder how the other boy learned such a technique since as far as she knew her love only taught two people that technique and it wasn't easy to learn in the first place. Before she could question it more, both boys jumped from their positions, heading right for each other. Each one pulled the arm holding their attacks, clearing planning on using them once they were close enough. Then she hears both boys shouting, no doubt calling the other's name. One name struck the goddess and froze her in place.

"Sasuke!"

"Naruto!"

She gave a gasp no one else heard, her heart skipping a beat if it was possible. She focused on the blond covering in the orange aura, realizing it was her son. She should have known with the fox-shaped aura covering him being a clue. It would also explain why her son would know his father's jutsu. Now her son was using it in a fight.

…her son was in a fight.

The goddess jerked as she realized this and attempted to get into the battle. But with her power reduced to only Half-blood level, her speed and reflexes were too slow as the two attacks collided mid-air.

The two attacks caused a chain reaction, unleashing an explosion that covered both boys. The light blinded her and she was forced to cover her face and steady herself from the blast. The ringing in her ears slowly faded as her sight returned to her. It took way longer than the goddess wanted but when she looked ahead, she froze seeing only her son was there, lying half in the river from the waterfall. Without hesitation the goddess raced to her son, pulling him out of the river and onto dry land. He was breathing but had a nasty wound in his chest, blood flowing too much for her liking.

Thoughts of what happened to the monster her son was fighting didn't even register as she gathered supplies from her satchel. From there she gathers some Ambrosia, food of the food, and a bottle of nectar. Both items were toxic to normal mortals but to a half-blood, they were used to help heal injuries. She cut a small square of the Ambrosia and fed it to Naruto. Using what amount of her power, she helped him swallow it and did the same with a sip of the nectar. She stopped as she feared of using more as too much would cause her son to burn away to ash. Quickly checking him over, she found he was starting to heal. Using her power, she checked and noticed some of the Nine Tail's power also focused on the wounds. She sighed in relief as it looked like her son would recover from this. While she is nowhere as good as Apollo or his immortal son's healing powers, she knows enough to keep him stable.

Then she noticed that rain was falling during her efforts to heal her son, so she summoned a canopy to protect him. Seeing his sleeping face, his breathing evening out, she wondered what her son was even doing here. She also had other concerns such as what she missed, what kind of person he was, and most importantly, did he grew up safe and happy. Seeing as she couldn't do more to help heal him, she placed a finger on his forehead and focused her power to see into his memories.

She didn't look long, just quick snippets and she scowled at what she saw. She saw her son being treated like an outcast, being talked down to and ridiculed, and worse of all he was alone for so long and unloved. She removed her finger and gritted her teeth. She may have been forced to leave her son but this isn't what she wanted. But from the short flashes, she also saw her son was a good man, willing to fight for others and overall someone she was proud of. But the bad left heavy scars on his heart and a decision was made almost instantly.

Picking up her son, she prepared to leave when she saw someone else jump into the valley. She glanced at them to see her son's old student, now a fully grown man stopped and noticed them. he froze while a small pug wearing a vest and headband that was with him sniffed the ground. The pug then spoke after it shook its head. "The rain is washing away any scents I can use. I can't track anything anymore."

The man however focused on the goddess and how she was holding Naruto. "…my lady," he greeted with a short bow.

"Kakashi," the goddess greeted him by name. "I have seen enough of my son's memories and I'm not happy. I trusted the village…his father trusted the village. I won't let him go back there."

And with that she glowed, covering herself and her son in the light as the shinobi and pug looked away. When the light faded, they looked up to see they were alone. Kakashi felt uneasy, knowing that this complicated things, but he had no choice in the matter. "Good Luck, Naruto" he whispered aloud.

(Scene change)

Night had fallen and the goddess sat in front of the campfire she created, her eyes drifting to her resting son every few minutes. While she did fully intend on taking her son back to her home, she couldn't take him right away. The journey wasn't hard even for someone to take an additional person along, something she had even done before, but taking someone injured or even exhausted added to any risks. Her son wasn't in the best condition to transport him to her world but knew it shouldn't be long now. His health has improved since she healed his injuries and was recovering a steady amount of his chakra from what she can understand. With this, the goddess reached out and stroked Naruto's hair from his face, as he slept almost peacefully on the bed roll she summoned. She adjusted the blanket to keep him covered and sat back with a sigh.

She will admit she didn't know how to handle this, being in this kind of situation for the first time. Worse the brief memories she looked into showed Naruto's life wasn't easy. She knew he was alone since the night she had to leave him, and that he didn't know about her. She considered leaving a scroll giving details much like how Athena does with her children before she rejects that idea. Naruto had been alone for so long, that she knew he needed to talk to her as the first thing he does when he wakes up. She owed him that much. She smiled longingly at her sleeping son, knowing many of the other gods would consider her plan to be foolish. She knew Athena for sure would object to it as her child not being owed such actions. But she knew even the goddess of wisdom wasn't right about everything.

The goddess became alert as her senses picked something approaching, something powerful. Even with her powers weakened to just about half-blood levels, there was no mistake in this feeling. Worse she can tell it wasn't a simple shinobi or monster. No this was no doubt a god and a powerful one at that. This god knew she was there and she couldn't move her son just yet. So she centered herself and prepared to offer hospitality as was the way of her culture. "Good evening," she greeted, feeling on edge as the goddess appeared. "I mean no harm. May I offer you something or to conjure a meal for…us?"

Naruto's mother paused as she realized how serious this meeting was to be. For the goddess that entered her camp wasn't a simple or ordinary goddess. The goddess that appeared was none other than Amaterasu-Mikami, goddess of the sun, queen of the heavens, and more importantly the leader of the gods in this world. While she never had met Amaterasu before, she knew that her power rivaled Zeus' own and considered this world's Big Three. She knew she had to tread carefully as she knew even if she was at full strength she wouldn't be a match for Amaterasu. But if she had to, she was willing to fight to protect her son but she hoped it wouldn't come to that.

Amaterasu stood tall, her pale face looking serious with only a bit of red lipstick as makeup. Her hair flowed freely from the back with head dressing kept it neat in the front while two golden jeweled bangles dropped on either side of her face as if to frame it. She was dressed in rich silk robes that seemed to shift with her power and her eyes were simple yet Amaterasu had miniature suns for pupils, ever-shifting and power coming from them. Amaterasu crossed her arms, the shifting robes revealed a sword in a sheath at her side and a folded fan held tight in her right hand. The two goddesses studied each other before Naruto's mother broke the silence. "Lady Amaterasu, how may I help you tonight?"

"It isn't strange for another of you gods to appear in my world," Amaterasu spoke evenly yet had a firm tone of authority. "However it is suspicious that that same god is planning on leaving so soon after arriving…and clearly attempting to take what is mine."

The accusation was there yet the goddess bit her tongue from her first reaction. She knew she couldn't speak out of turn or rudely, especially not to this goddess. "My apologies my lady, I do not understand. You claim I am taking what is yours. I am doing no such thing. This is my son," this last line was a bit firmer but not raising her voice to make her seem like she was being aggressive.

Amaterasu raised a brow at her, "Oh? Your son? Since when do a god of your pantheon care about their children?"

Again the goddess bit her tongue but it was a near thing. "I can not speak for all of my fellow gods but I know many do care," she offered. "And I deeply care about my son. I however could not take him home with me when he was born. Not only was he too young to handle the journey being only a few days old, but because our ancient laws prohibited such actions. Causing great harm to our children. I had thought I had left him to someone I can trust, that can protect him." She then sighed, looking down in shame. "And I was mistaken. Naruto didn't live the life I wanted for him, the life he deserved." She then raised her head and locked eyes with Amaterasu, looking determined, "I will not fail him again. I know there isn't a law that prevents anyone from leaving with us. I have bought someone back with me before. And this time, I will not leave without him."

Amaterasu raised a brow at the claim, almost as if amused by the proclamation. "You speak the truth that no laws exist if they want to leave. Very few even have such a means to do so. And in any other being, I wouldn't be here. But this I can not allow, I can not allow you to take what I mine."

Naruto's mother finally glared, "I fail to see how my son can be considered yours."

Amaterasu's demeanor shifted and the other goddess felt some of Amaterasu's power leak out, "You Dare question my claim!?"

"Naruto is my son," his mother repeated firmly. "And I know how father. And I know of who 'his' father is. Relations between other gods that are family are not as simple for half-bloods. Unless you have a proper reason for your claim, he can not be considered yours."

While the goddess didn't raise her voice to Amaterasu, the effect was obvious as the air shifted and became heated. Literally as the temperature seemed to rise as the fire flickered and for a few seconds it seemed as if the flames would turn black in color before returning to normal. A heat haze appears that shimmered the surrounding area. The goddess shifted to her son, quickly removing the blanket and trying to cover him with some of her power to shield him from the effects. Amaterasu took no notice of this as she glared harder at the two, flames now leaking out of the corners of her eyes. "You Dare!?" She shouts, pointing her folded fan at the other goddess. "My claim is not for you to question! My claim is to protect my kingdom and lands! I will not allow the child of prophecy to escape my domain before the time has come!"

Naruto's mother froze, fearing she misheard. "Prophecy?" She echoed, turning to look at Amaterasu. "My son is part of a prophecy?"

Amaterasu froze, her powers waning as she realized she had slipped. After a moment she sighed, the flames in her eyes retreating and lowering her arm. She then looked into the other goddess and nodded, "…yes he is part of an important prophecy."

"…how can you be sure?" The goddess asked, fearing for the worse.

Prophecies are tricky things be it from her world or this one. Being the subject of a prophecy even more so as many times it doesn't end well for the half-blood. Amaterasu locked eyes with Naruto's mother and recited in a regal tone, the words seemingly carrying more weight to them.

"A child will be born with impossible odds

The child will be cast in darkness, yet walk in the light

Through training with the Toads, he shall become one with the world

With true balance with their darkness, they shall become a Hero

And on the sacred day, this Hero will either save their world…or destroy it."

The silence that followed was deafening as both goddesses stared at one another. Naruto's mother felt her very core freeze hearing the prophecy. While seemingly more clear than the ones from her world, that doesn't mean it can't have hidden aspects and meanings. Worse it can affect her son in Amy's she couldn't even predict. "And…you are sure it is my son?" She asked Amaterasu. She was grasping at straws and praying for a small glimmer of hope that Amaterasu was wrong.

Amaterasu gave her a sympathetic look, "Because he was born at all. Are you saying you weren't concerned when you knew you were carrying him? Between your blood and ours running through his veins? He was impossible the moment he was conceived and you know this. And that is only the start as he carries the most dangerous monster of our world, facing hardships every day yet still standing for what he believes in, to believe in the good of others. And finally, he has the summoning contract with the toad clan. He is the hero of the prophecy."

Naruto's mother said nothing as she knew the other goddess was right. She wasn't foolish enough to deny it when it was clear. Still, Naruto's mother narrowed her eyes at Amaterasu, "So what are your intentions with my son? Do you wish to control the prophecy that is a part of it? To try and stop it?"

This was a mistake as Amaterasu's heated power and anger returned in force. "You dare! One can not control the outcomes of a prophecy nor stop it when it is already in motion!" She took a step closer as the campfire's flame shifted and fully turned black. "Surely your Pantheon would have experience knowing such actions. Unless you foolishly believe yourself above such a thing and not learn from your past mistakes?"

Naruto's mother bit her tongue as she knew it was a jab at her and her world but she couldn't really object either. With the number of prophecies that many tried to prevent or change, from human kings to heroes to even the Titian King Kronos himself trying and failing. Some of those actions went as far as making those prophecies come to be. However, it still left the issue of her son and what she needs to do. So the goddess did what many other gods she knew wouldn't have done, even if the face of fading; she shifted so she was on her knees, bowed low with her forehead to the ground, and pleaded. "Please," she begged. "I already failed my son once. I can't do it again. There must be something we can do."

Amaterasu only stared, the heat fading as the fire returned to normal. Softly the goddess of the sun spoke in a nearly audible whisper that the other goddess barely missed it. "Words to tear at a mother's heart. Have I shown such compassion for my youngest daughter?" Amaterasu folded her arms and addressed Naruto's mother in a tone of authority. "Rise, goddess of the other world. I have decided."

Naruto's mother rose to a kneeled position and waited, knowing this was her last hope. Amaterasu shifted her gaze to Naruto, studying him before she spoke aloud, "Sixteen."

The single word confused the other goddess and it showed as Amaterasu clarified, "I shall allow him to go with you. He will be trained there, learn of his heritage, and advance his skills. When he is physically sixteen years of age, he shall return." Amaterasu pointed her fan at the other goddess's face as she spoke more firmly. "This is not for negotiations. To be the best hero he can be, he should learn all he can. But I do expect him to return and finish what training he will need. You will swear it."

Naruto's mother was stunned by the generosity but wasn't going to miss her chance. "I can swear upon the river Styx if you wish."

Amaterasu rolled her eyes, "Yes because swearing upon a power that has no say in this world will work. Is there even any consequences that befall upon you gods if you break such an oath?"

Naruto's mother said nothing, both out of pride and because she didn't have an answer. Amaterasu didn't seem to care as she spoke again, "You will swear my Yata No Kagami."

Amaterasu held up her hand and a large circular mirror appeared in a burst of blinding light. The goddess focused on the mirror that showed her reflection but what she saw surprised her. It wasn't the human-looking shell she used when dealing with mortals, including the form she had at this moment. No, it was her true form, a form that would burn and destroy any mortals who saw it since their minds could not comprehend it. She knew she wasn't in her true form, both because with her son resting and could wake up at any moment and because while here none of the gods could turn into their true form. Before she can question this, Amaterasu spoke again "It is one of my sacred relics. Its reflection holds no lies, nothing by the truth reflected back. Any oath under its glaze can not be broken, even by a god of another pantheon," the goddess locked eyes once again, "Swear that your son, the hero of the prophecy shall return by the time of his sixteenth year. In exchange, I shall even aid you in your endeavors."

Naruto's mother thought it over and sighed as she knew what she had to do. For her son's safety most of all.

(Scene change)

Naruto groaned, turning his head as the sunlight aggravated him even with his eyes closed. It didn't help that his whole body was sore like he had gotten into a big fight. A big…fight…

Naruto's eyes snapped open as his mind finally realized what was going on. "Sasuke!" He shouts as he shoots up, the blanket falling off his chest from the movement. He pants, his mind racing as he recalls what he last remembered. He recalled how they fought, how they were able to trade the final blows, and then… "I failed" Naruto whispered, seeing no reason why he didn't.

It took him a moment to notice something was off with his surroundings. What he first thought was a hospital room was in fact a large bedroom to no doubt an apartment. It was much larger and fancier than the one he lived in. With a groan from his sore body, Naruto shifted and got out of bed to see he was wearing a simple shirt and shorts, and walked towards the window. Opening the window and looking outside he gasped seeing the taller buildings than any he had seen before. He opened it up and looked around and saw he saw even more buildings, almost all of them taller than the last. "I don't think I'm in the village anymore," he muttered as he pulled himself back inside.

He took another look around the bedroom, seeing it looked pretty fancy with the bed that would take up most room in his old bedroom, a few tall dressers, and even a desk near the window. A mirror on the wall showed he looked to be right and did not show any injuries. If it wasn't for the fact he was sore and recalled the fight he was in he never would have thought he was injured in the first place. He knew he healed fast but this seemed to be on a whole new level. He noticed the open door leading to the hallway and no doubt the rest of the apartment. Feeling he should at least go see who helped him and offer his thanks, he walked into the hallway into the living room, dining area, and large kitchen. He would never imagine he would be in a place this fancy and no doubt expensive, making sure he didn't touch anything. Then he noticed at the table was a woman.

Her eyes were closed and her hair shifted from an amber to a light brown before coming lighter in shading. She seemed to realize he was there as the changing stopped and landed on an orangish red before she opened her eyes, the eyes flashing color before becoming a light lavender. The woman stood up as she finished and greeted him, "Naruto."

"Oh, uh hey," Naruto said, feeling a bit nervous. There was something off about her. "Thanks for helping me out. You didn't need to go into that kind of trouble."

"Believe me I do," she told him, stepping from around the table. "This is only the beginning of what I have to make up for."

Naruto waved his hands in front of him to try and put her at least, "Oh no! Don't worry about it. I mean I don't know where I am but-"

"Naruto," the woman said stepping in front of them. "I do have to. This might be hard to imagine but…I am your mother."

Naruto stiffens, staring at the woman in disbelief. Nothing was said as she waited for him. Finally, he laughed almost dishearteningly, shaking his head and closing his eyes. "I get it. I'm just out cold back home. Kakashi-sensei probably found me and brought me back. I'll just wake up in the hospital and not have to worry about-"

Again he was cut off, but because the woman that claimed to be his mother had stepped forward and pulled him into a hug. His eyes opened as his face rested against her shoulder, her arms lodging him gently. One hand gently rubbed his back as she spoke. "I'm sorry Naruto. I'm sorry I was forced to leave you alone for so long. But look at you…my little boy has grown up so much."

Tears pooled in Naruto's eyes, her words echoing around in his head. It wasn't just the words but how she held him. The warmth of being held like that, it just felt…right. The tears dropped as he returned the hug, pushing his face into her shoulder, letting everything go. His mother simply held him, one head reaching up and stroking his hair. "It's okay son…it's going to be okay."

They weren't sure how long they stayed like that, reaching a point where they lowered themselves to their knees, keeping the hug going. Naruto, who hadn't felt this before, didn't want it to end and his mother seemed to realize this and didn't even attempt to stop. Finally, once their emotions ran their course, they separated and his mother brought him over to the couch and sat next to him. There she explained everything; where they were, where the Elemental Nations were, what she was, and most importantly why she had to leave him. Naruto didn't interrupt her, allowing her to explain everything. Once she was done, Naruto had to take a moment to soak it all in. "So…another world huh?" He finally asked, looking at his mother.

She offered him a small smile, "Indeed."

"And…you're a goddess…a real goddess?"

Again she smiled at him, "I am. Though I am not one you will know about. My pantheon is separated from the Shinto pantheon that rules the Elemental nations." Her smile dropped and a sad look appeared. "And I hate how I was forced to leave you behind. Our ancient laws prohibited my pantheon from directly raising our children if they were from the union with a mortal. They are known as half-bloods, for they are half mortal and half immortal. It is seen as unfair and I believe any hard feelings other half-bloods have are valid. But it is more dangerous for half-blood to be raised by us, for their safety and our own."

Naruto felt conflicted but was willing to hear his mother out, "it is that bad?"

His mother sighed, "It is, even if it seems unfair. The gods have their own separate domains they are in charge of and responsible for. To neglect their domains doesn't just affect them or their children but the entire world. Think of the gods as their own separate Kage, responsible for their village but at a much much larger scale. And without a leader…"

"The village struggles," Naruto finishes with a sigh.

He knew she was oversimplifying it for him but he understood the reasoning. Even as the newest Hokage, Granny Tsunade was nearly always busy since she had to keep the village running while it was recovering from the surprise attack it faced. He even remembered how the Old man, the third Hokage, always seemed to be busy. He was sure he was even busier after the Nine-Tailed Fox attacked and the death of the fourth Hokage, and most of his memories of the old man were years for the village to recover after the fact.

His mother seemed to know what was on his mind as she cupped his cheek. "It was hard to leave you after that attack when it was sealed and I was too weak to even help. When your father died, I couldn't take you with me, even if we aren't counting the ancient laws. I thought I was leaving you in good hands," she then sighed, "and I was wrong in my judgment."

"No," Naruto denied quickly. "No Mom…" he paused as he was still getting used to saying that word aloud and it had meaning to it. "You aren't to blame. Yeah, I was alone a lot but-"

"No," his mother interrupted sternly. "It does not make it okay. You were alone, and I should have done more. Even if I wasn't at full strength, even if I wasn't a goddess of that world, I did have a few things I could have done. And just bringing you here and now doesn't even begin to make up for everything."

Naruto had to hold back his emotions, feeling things he didn't know about before. The fact his mother, (his real mother he happily thought) was firm with him, was protective of him, and most importantly was worried about him. He didn't argue her points, not seeing a need to however it did bring up something he had been wondering about. "So…why did you bring me here? Don't get me wrong I am very happy to finally meet you but-" he scratched his cheek nervously, unsure of how to properly ask.

His mother only smiled at his nervousness before she looked more somber. "When I found you, you were injured so I took the time to heal you. After peeking into your memories briefly, mostly to see how you grew up, I wasn't happy. I had planned on taking you with me, but then I was approached by one of the Shinto pantheon who wishes to stop me." She noticed he looked concerned and answered the obvious question he was about to ask. "It was Amaterasu."

Naruto winced, as while he didn't know much of the gods he did however know that one being pretty much the leader of the gods. His mother nodded, seeing he understood how that was tricky. "She was against me taking you with me, for reasons I will not get into right now. But we did reach a compromise. While here you will learn of your heritage, learn new skills, and train in ways you wouldn't have back in your village. But by the time you reach the age of sixteen, you shall return to complete a mission only known to the gods there."

Naruto looked a bit relieved before realizing his mother noticed, "Not that I'm not happy to meet you and I am always willing to get some training but the village is my home. It's where my team is, where my friends are, and where I can go for my dream of becoming Hokage." He smiled while his mother looked surprised at hearing his goals, "I wouldn't want to stay here forever."

His mother stared, surprised and almost amused hearing his claim. Honestly, it made things easier when it came to his return but hearing how he would want to return on his own gave her emotions she didn't know she had. She gave a soft laugh, closing her eyes and ruffling his hair. Her son looked embarrassed by her actions but leaned into her hand all the same. "My little man…when did you get so mature?"

Naruto laughed, "I wouldn't say that. I doubt many would call me mature."

She huffed, clearly disagreeing, and made a mental note to look into that. "Still we got time before that I have to bring you back. We have a lot to go over."

"Great!" Naruto beamed, "So what are we doing first?"

"'You' will be resting," his mother said, putting more emphasis on the first word. "You were in a terrible fight and while my efforts helped heal you, it was to make sure the journey here was safe. You will need several days to recover and you won't doing anything that resembles training until then, understand?"

She told him this with a stern look on her face, causing him to look down embarrassed. Though a warm feeling in his chest formed as this was the first time he had someone treat him like this, his well-being was in mind. He nodded and his mother seemed pleased with this. She then told him, "Now besides working on different methods of training, you will also be learning of this world seeing as you will be staying here for a few years."

"Okay," Naruto agreed with a nod, "that makes sense."

"You will also learn about the history of the gods, and more of your heritage" his mother went on, not noticing the confused look her son had nor how it slowly became one of fear as she went on. "With summer coming to an end here, it means it's the perfect timing to make things easier. While it wouldn't be difficult to enroll you in a school after it has already started but this way you get more time learning everything you need."

It was then did she noticed her son's nervous and fearful face. "Is something wrong Naruto?"

"Ummm, no," Naruto said chuckling nervously. "I mean…do I have to?"

"Yes," his mother told him without hesitation.

Naruto bowed his head and gave a pitiful moan, "Do I really have to? It's just…I was never good at learning or the academy."

"Yes you do," his mother told him, reaching out and rubbing his head in comfort. He lifted his head to stare as she smiled softly at him. "I'm not telling you to be perfect in school or to ace every test but I do know you are brighter when you put in the effort. So can you try your hardest to learn everything for me?"

Was this a little underhanded? Maybe. Did she feel guilty using such a tactic to get him to try out schooling? A little bit. Would she be proud of him even if he kept doing badly in school? She would but she wouldn't tell him that. The look he gained told her he would put in the effort and that was enough for her. "After the school year is done, you will make your way to Camp to continue your training."

"Camp?" Naruto echoed, unsure why training would need a camp.

His mother nodded, "Camp Half-Blood, a camp used to train other children of the gods. A place where they can be protected, expand their skills, and learn new ones. It is also a common place where claim their children."

"Claim?" Naruto asked, frowning at the wording. "What does that mean?"

"Not every half-blood knows who their godly parents are," his mother explained. "Both because it helps protect them early in life and also because of their duties. When a half-blood knows of their heritage, their scent becomes stronger to monsters, the more powerful scent from more powerful gods." She noticed his hesitation and knew what was on his mind. "While some think claiming their child is simply used for letting the child know their parent, it is more announcing to the other gods." She smiled, "usually after a great feat their child reformed, be in a fight, taking down a monster or other feats; it is to proclaim to the other gods, 'This is my child and I am proud to tell everyone'. Opinions differ on this act but it is a big moment for their child."

She paused and looked hesitantly, "I wouldn't mind claiming you at camp as traditionally used or in front of a crowd of their peers or other gods. But do you want that? Or do you want me to do it now and not wait? Do you…wish to know my name?"

Naruto thought it over for a moment before he asked, "Will it make a difference for you?"

His mother stared, amazed by the selfless question. "It makes no difference for me. Be it in front of the entire camp or when all the gods watching. Even if it is just us alone."

He then smiled, "Then I want to wait like the other kids. Some don't know who their parents are and I already met you. I waited this long to finally get to know you…I can wait some more to learn your name."

His mother laughed "Like I said, how did I get a son so mature? Very well, I promise I will claim you at camp. Even make it a big moment that gets everyone's attention."

"Perfect!" Naruto agrees with a laugh. Crossing his arms he added, "Heck I might even figure out your name before I even get there."

His mother returned his look with an amused one of her own. "If you manage to guess my name then I will be very impressed. And I don't mean just listing off all the goddesses hoping you get my name."

The two laughed, both letting the air clear between them, their emotions running and just enjoying the moment. After a moment, his mother sighed, gaining a sad look. "I will have to leave soon after you finish recovering. Even if I returned so soon from the Elemental Nations, I still have my domain that I must attend to."

Naruto lost his smile, reaching over and pulling his mother into another hug. Tears fell briefly but he managed to grin, "It's okay. I've been alone before. But this time I know I have a mom and she's looking out for me."

His mother smiled, tears also falling. It was an emotional moment for them and neither one wanted it to end so soon. All was right for them.

And the story has begun! After far too long of getting it planned out, getting it set up, we start the journey anew. Now I am sure you noticed some changes right off the back if you came from the precursor story. I will say right now, Naruto's godly linage is different.

While hinted at I will summarize it here: Naruto's mother is a goddess of the Olympian Pantheon while his father is the son of a Shinto Pantheon God. Naruto is connected to two different Pantheons by blood and this has never happened before. Naruto's mother didn't even think she could have a child with his father due to his linage, making Naruto an Impossible Half-Blood.

You also noticed I never mentioned his mother's name, only that he knows she is a goddess and part of the Greek gods. If you came from my first story…I can neither confirm nor deny that I had change who the mother is. Not to mention…for people reading this for the first time, they can read without expectations and enjoy this for what it is.

We also have Naruto meeting his mother face to face. I felt that after everything, Naruto deserves to have a heart to heart moment with his mother. Could it have been done with a scroll? Maybe bit I feel this worked out better. He understood more of what he has to do and why he will try so hard in much of what he does as the story goes on.

So what do you all think? Much better then the last one? I know I feel I did much better at it. But what other changes will be made? What other characters and enemies will we see it even the odds? Because while Percy gets stronger, so will Naruto and he had a higher starting point. So to keep the stakes and make sure things done get boring, we will be having new enemies to fight and their battles will be more then fights. I have plans for these characters and hope to show why they do what they do. So tell me your thoughts. Tell me what your guesses are for Naruto's godly heritage and just what you think will happen? I will be answering reviews at the start of next chapter unless it is something major that I need to address right away. So until, enjoy the new year as we are starting off strong!
