Chapter 9: Rancilda:
Char's POV:
Now, we're dealing with Cinderella's step-sisters. We just have to watch out for the other one.
"Is Rancilda using someone's skin too," I asked.
"My other friend, Lucinda," says Cinderella, "and there's Rancilda!"
"Hello, Cinderella," says Rancilda. She then takes off her skin and reveals her own troll and she's bigger than her disguise too!
"Seriously," I asked, "how?"
She then came at us, and we had to run.
...
We were in a dead end and just as Rancilda was about to get us, she was suddenly blinded by a flash of light. We look and see it was my sister, Bridget. She's a photographer. Rancilda then fell and was hit by a bus...
...
Apparently, trolls can survive being hit with buses. Now, we have her tied up. "What are you doing here," I asked.
"I came to London to take pictures of the sights," says Bridget, "I didn't expect you to be running from an ogre!"
"She's a troll, actually," says Cinderella.
"Who's this," asks Bridget.
"That's Cinderella," I said.
"Right... wait... you mean the fables are real," asks Bridget, "I thought that was just a rumor!"
"Nope, fairy tale characters do live among us," I said.
Rancilda wakes up. "Where is Vivian," asks Cinderella, "what is she up to?"
"Why should I ever tell you," asks Rancilda. She then sees a canary and has a weird reaction.
"That's right," says Cinderella, "in Fairyland, trolls are afraid of canaries!"
I then grabbed the canary and brought it over to Rancilda. "Take that thing away from me," says Rancilda, "fine! I'll talk! She's after Paulette!"
"Paulette," I asked.
"My fairy godmother," says Cinderella.
"Mother's tired of being remembered as your step-mother," says Rancilda, "so, she plans to use your fairy godmother's wand to take over the world!"
"Is she for real," I asked.
"To be fair, I didn't even know the wicked step-mother had a name," says Bridget, "so, she might be on to something."
"We have to find Paulette," says Cinderella.
"I'll call S.H.I.E.L.D. to take Gruesome here back to Fabletown," I said.
"Let's go," says Cinderella.
