Scene 2 - The Explorer's Pledge
The kids have now moved to the park, which is where their meeting will take place. Ranger explains that the first thing they do every day is say the explorer's pledge. Ryan is a little concerned, as he does not know the Explorers' Club pledge. Ranger Rabbit kindly offers to teach Ryan the pledge. First, the explorers have to take their hats off and place it over their hearts. Since Ryan does not have a hat yet, Ranger lets him borrow hers. An explorer is kind!
An explorer is curious!
Who knows what we'll find?"
Ryan is impressed by the pledge. Ranger points out the rhyme of "kind" and "find". They then repeat the pledge, and Ryan successfully says it with the rest of the group. Elinor congratulates her friend for saying the pledge, and Ranger politely asks Ryan to give her back her hat.
