Scene 3 - The Dandelion Contest
The explorers are now in the meadow and are ready for their first activity: a dandelion blowing contest. Whoever can blow the seeds off the most dandelions by the time Ranger counts to 40 wins. Ryan asks what a dandelion looks like, and Olive shows one to him. Ranger confirms to Ryan that the white fluff on the dandelion is the seeds. Elinor demonstrates how to blow the seeds off of a dandelion. Now, all the kids are determined to find as many dandelions as they can. Then the challenge begins! Ranger starts counting while the rest of the kids run around the field, finding dandelions. Elinor encourages Ryan as he tries to blow the seeds off the dandelions. Ari and Olive also try their best. After Ranger Rabbit reaches forty, she blows a little whistle. And the winner of the contest is… Elinor! She receives a badge for her victory, and everyone cheers for her. Ari says that even though he didn't win, he still had fun trying. Ryan also enjoyed the dandelion challenge, but then he asks Ranger Rabbit why people blow seeds off dandelions. Elinor tells him that she had the same question once. and Ranger explains that it's a way to help grow more dandelions. Then the kids prepare for the next challenge.
