Rin Okumura sat cross-legged in the dusty attic of the dorms at True Cross Academy, flipping through the pages of an ancient tome that Kuri Hikawa had borrowed from Mephisto's personal collection. Kuri, her crimson hair pulled into a loose braid, watched him carefully. Her Empathy power allowed her to sense subtle emotions, and Rin was brimming with a mix of curiosity and unease.

"Are you sure this is the right book?" Rin asked, his tail flicking anxiously. "You really think it can open a portal to another world?"

Kuri nodded, her blue eyes steady. "This book mentions Ente Isla, a realm where demons and humans once coexisted in conflict. If it's connected to your father's history, we might find some answers."

Rin hesitated. The idea of learning more about his father, Satan, stirred something deep inside him—anger, confusion, and a faint longing for clarity. Finally, he sighed and stood, gripping Kurikara tightly.

"All right. Let's do it."

Kuri began chanting softly, her voice weaving with the glowing runes on the page. A portal formed in the air, swirling with otherworldly energy. Rin stepped forward, his resolve hardening.

"Time to meet the past."

Rin and Kuri tumbled out of the portal onto the bustling streets of a city eerily similar to Tokyo. The faint smell of sulfur in the air made Rin's demonic side stir, and his instincts screamed that something powerful was nearby.

"Where are we?" Rin muttered, looking around.

"This can't be Ente Isla," Kuri said, frowning. "The portal must have redirected us."

Before they could analyze further, a man in a fast-food uniform stepped out of a nearby MgRonald's, holding a tray of drinks. His presence hit Rin like a punch to the gut. The man looked ordinary at first glance, but his crimson eyes glowed faintly for a split second, and his aura was unmistakable.

"That's him," Rin whispered, his grip tightening on Kurikara. "That's my father."

The man—Sadao Maou, according to his nametag—spotted Rin and paused. His cheerful expression faltered as his gaze lingered on Rin's face, his eyes narrowing slightly.

"What do we have here?" Sadao asked, setting the tray down on a nearby table. "You've got an interesting aura, kid."

Rin didn't bother with pleasantries. "You're Satan, aren't you?"

Sadao froze for a moment before sighing and rubbing his temples. "Great. Another one. Listen, I don't know what you're talking about—"

"Don't lie to me!" Rin snapped, drawing Kurikara. Blue flames erupted around the blade, crackling with power. "I can feel it. You're him."

Sadao's eyes flicked to the flames, and his demeanor shifted. He straightened, his voice dropping into a low, commanding tone. "Where did you get that power?"

Rin growled. "It's mine. I inherited it. From you."

Sadao's expression hardened, but there was something else beneath the surface—recognition. Slowly, he exhaled, his aura growing heavier. "You're from Assiah, aren't you? And your mother… was her name Yuri?"

Rin's flames flared brighter. "How do you know her?"

Sadao stepped closer, his gaze piercing. "Because she wasn't just your mother. She was my wife."

The three of them moved to a quiet park, the air tense with unspoken questions. Sadao leaned against a bench, his posture weary but composed. Kuri stood nearby, her empathic senses brimming with the weight of Sadao's emotions—guilt, sorrow, and a faint sense of pride.

"I didn't start out in this world as a fast-food worker," Sadao began, his tone calm but layered with emotion. "I was the ruler of Gehenna, a demon king bent on conquering Assiah. But then… I met Yuri."

Rin's fists clenched. "You mean my mother."

"Yes," Sadao said softly. "She was different. Brave, kind, and stubborn as hell. She didn't see me as a monster. She saw someone who could be better." He glanced at Rin. "And because of her, I tried to be."

"What happened?" Kuri asked, her voice gentle.

Sadao hesitated, his gaze distant. "The Order found out about us. About you and Yukio. Yuri… she died protecting you." His jaw tightened. "And I wasn't strong enough to save her."

Rin's tail lashed behind him, his voice trembling with anger. "You abandoned us."

"No," Sadao said firmly, his eyes locking with Rin's. "I sent you to Shiro Fujimoto because I knew he'd keep you safe. I stayed in Gehenna to protect the portal, to keep the Order from coming after you."

Rin's flames flickered uncertainly, his anger warring with the faintest hint of understanding. "So you just gave up?"

Sadao shook his head. "I didn't give up. I came here—to Assiah—to start over. To find a way to make things right."

Rin stared at Sadao, his mind reeling. This man—his father—wasn't the monster he had imagined. He wasn't perfect, but he wasn't purely evil either.

Kuri stepped forward, her voice breaking the silence. "Rin, you've always wanted answers. Now you have them. Maybe it's not what you expected, but it's the truth."

Rin sighed, running a hand through his hair. "This is a lot to take in."

Sadao smiled faintly. "You've got fire, kid. Just like Yuri. She'd be proud of you."

"Don't think this makes us buddies," Rin muttered, though his tone lacked its usual bite. "But… thanks. For telling me."

As the sun set, Sadao returned to his job, leaving Rin and Kuri to process everything. They walked back toward the portal, the weight of the day settling over them.

"You okay?" Kuri asked softly.

"Yeah," Rin said after a moment. "I don't know how to feel about him yet, but… it's a start."

Kuri smiled, her aura warm with reassurance. "You've got time to figure it out."

As they stepped through the portal, Rin felt a strange sense of closure. For the first time, he wasn't just the son of Satan. He was Rin Okumura—someone with a past, a future, and a family he was still learning to understand.
