Chapter 173
Cat's Eye
Continuation:
Jeremy hears about the trouble at the party store inside of the mall.. Nakia says to him.
Nakia-Sorry Jeremy.
Jeremy-That's okay. I really wasn't expecting a party in the first place.
Nakia-Hmm. I'm sure there are other party supply places here.
Jeremy-Don't worry about it, Nakia. It's not a big deal to me.
Nakia-Why not?
Jeremy-I just have a lot on my mind right now.
Nakia-Okay.
She sits down at a table and wonders to herself..
Nakia-Hmm.. That strange guy with those cats.. And then the giant cat monster.. I bet he has a lot to do with it.
On the ritzy side of the city Terra Falls.. A 16 year old girl of Japanese descent is wearing a pair of designer black jeans, a yellow t shirt, and white sneakers. She is following a middle aged slightly overweight man of Japanese descent dressed in a brown business suit down the long stairway inside of a beautiful white mansion.. The girl's name is Vanessa, and the slight overweight man is her father Henry.. Vanessa is 5'7, she has long dark hair that reaches way past her shoulders, sort of bright white skin and a muscular athletic build. She asks him as they both pass a maid and a butler to get to the kitchen.
Vanessa-But daddy why are you supporting him?
He responds.
Henry-Vanessa I don't have time to answer your questions.
Vanessa-I just know he's hurting those cats. And you giving him money to do it. that's just plain mean.
Henry-He's not hurting the cats. And I'd know about it if he were.
Vanessa-How would you know?
Henry-I have spies around. Besides, Professor Feliness is an expert on what he's doing.
Vanessa-Do you even know what he's trying to do?
Henry-Yes I do.
Vanessa-What?
Henry sighs.
Henry-I don't have time to explain it. I'm already late for a board meeting.
Vanessa-Dad will you just tell me?!
Henry sighs again and gives in.
Henry-Fine. The professor is looking for a way to help cats.
Vanessa-Help cats how?
Henry-I'm not exactly sure.
Vanessa-That proves it.
Henry-Proves what?
Vanessa-That he has something he's hiding from you.. And I want to find out what it is.
Henry-You listen to me young lady.
He gets his brief case and continues to speak sternly.
Henry-Don't you dare go bother the Professor. You understand me?
Vanessa hesitates.
Henry-Vanessa. Do you understand me?
Vanessa says under her breath.
Vanessa-I guess so.
Henry-If I hear one word about you being at the professors home I will ground you for a month, got it?
Vanessa-Yeah yeah, dad.. I got it.
Henry-Good.
He leaves the kitchen after giving Vanessa a kiss on her forehead..
Vanessa walks around the kitchen thinking.. She hears someone talking from the kitchen's entrance way.
Debra-Vanessa. I know when you're pacing around like that.. You definitely have something on your mind.
Vanessa turns to see one of the maids.. Dressed in her normal uniform.. The maid is 35, Caucasian, and has a medium build.. Her hair is brightly red, and her eyes are totally brown. She walks into the kitchen to place some dirty plates from the dining area into the sink. Vanessa clears her throat and says.
Vanessa-I think the professor my father is funding is totally crazy.
Debra turns to Vanessa and says.
Debra-What gives you that impression?
Vanessa-I think he's experimenting on cats.
Debra-Experimenting? That can't be good.
Vanessa-I know. I just want to know for sure.
Debra-I heard your father specifically forbade you from going over to the professors house.
Vanessa-I know. But I really have to know.
Debra-Vanessa. It's not a good idea for you to even want to disobey your father.
Vanessa grunts. She then asks.
Vanessa-But what if he's hurting them?
Debra-I'm sure if your father is investing his money in the professors work, he can't be all bad, right?
Vanessa-There's just something I don't like about him.
Debra-Well you can take your mind off of it with a nice bowl of soup.
Vanessa-I'm not hungry.
Debra-Vanessa. You have to eat. I don't want you going for the rest of the afternoon and into the evening with nothing in your stomach.
Vanessa-Ok I'll grab an apple or something before I leave.
Debra-Leave for where?
Vanessa-Don't worry I'm not going to see the professor. I'm just going to go to the park.
Debra-Okay. And try to remember, don't get yourself in any trouble this time.
Vanessa-Yeah, yeah.
Debra leaves the kitchen to go back into the dining room to collect more dirty dishes for washing.
Vanessa says to herself.
Vanessa-I just have to find out for myself.. I just got to know if he's hurting those cats.
She thinks hard.
Vanessa-Maybe a Power Ranger can help me.
She realizes she has no way to contact them.
Vanessa-Ugh.. I can't give up. I need to find out to be totally sure about the Professor and his ways.
In Professor Feliness' base Lab.. He sits in his leather chair staring at the lifeless TV like screens while holding a cat in his lap and stroking its fur.. Soon, someone opens up the lab door and footsteps are heard walking towards the Professor.. When those footsteps stop, the Professor asks.
Professor Feliness-The cats eye. Is it complete yet?
The voice lingering in the dark shadows that surround the lab speaks in a cat like way.
Kitty-Yes, Professor. All we need to do is set it in the right spot to turn it on.
Professor Feliness-Excellent.. Kitty, excellent. Be warned.. You might have some interference.
She says she understands then continues on..
Kitty-We'll be able to send cat waves out all through the city. Then the planet.
Professor Feliness-Waves that will turn every last human into my slaves, as cats!
Kitty-Yes, Professor.
Professor Feliness-Then get started.. I have waited so long for this moment.. And to think.. If it wasn't for all that money I would of never been able to get the ingredients and the supplies needed to finish the cat's eye.. The greatest invention that will soon be known to man as they become my slaves!
The being behind the Professor's desk leaves the room.
The Professor's scene ends with the TV like screens powering up so he'll be able to view what will happen.
Nakia and everyone else is at the weather station.. They are all thinking about the cat monster.. And Nakia tells them her theory.. Zelda says.
Zelda-I think you're right Nakia.. That guy.. In the lab coat.. He has to be behind that mess.
Kimberly-I don't see any other explanation.
Ryan-Neither do I.
Nakia-Yeah.
Soon they all hear a voice.. A voice that brings warmness into the room with the beauty of a bright light..
Princess Ariel-Rangers..
They all look at the light.. Nakia says.
Nakia-Ariel..
Princess Ariel-Yes.
Jeremy says.
Jeremy-Have you come for my decision?
Princess Ariel says.
Princess Ariel-No. I have come to tell you of something.. Something very important.
Ryan asks.
Ryan-What is it Princess?
Princess Ariel-Six new star seeds have been created. Red, Yellow, Black, Pink, Blue and White.
Chet asks.
Chet-What do you mean?
Princess Ariel-Rangers. The time for you to make an important decision will come soon. Your graduation is coming. And I know as well as you do, you wish to live normal lives.
They all look at each other then back at the light. Ryan speaks.
Ryan-We really don't have much of a say on that Ariel. We're Rangers, till the end.
Princess Ariel-Not necessarily, Red Ranger.
Nakia says now.
Nakia-Are you telling us we have a choice of whether we want to stay Rangers or leave and live normal lives?
Princess Ariel-You do have that choice.
Joey-Whoa. This is really interesting. I mean I do want to have a career in photography.
Nakia-And I want to go to college. And hopefully be a designer after that.
Zelda-I'd like to go to drama school. To be a professional actress.
Ryan-As for me. I'd go to college, then engineering school.
Then he says when he gives Nakia a wink.
Ryan-And maybe get married someday.
Nakia smiles.
Kimberly says now.
Kimberly-I want to go to college too.. To become a counselor.
Chet-I have to go back home to New Zealand. Then I'll decide on what I want to do with my life.
Princess Ariel-Please choose a successor Rangers before the time comes.
Kimberly asks.
Kimberly-But Ariel. What would happen to our storm powers?
Princess Ariel-The storm powers are yours. They are connected to you.. Forever. If you need to use them in the future they will be there for you.
Nakia-This is really something to think about too.. Along with the cat attack.
Ryan takes a hold of Nakia's shoulder and says.
Ryan-I know babe.. I know.
Princess Ariel-If you decide to leave Rangers.. Please, choose someone to be your successor so that they can absorb the power of the star seeds and become a new team of Rangers.
They all nod in agreement.. Ryan says.
Ryan-Don't worry Ariel.. We'll let you know.
Princess Ariel-I shall return shortly.
Her voice, the light and warmness all disappear.
Nakia says.
Nakia-Well guess this is it huh.
Ryan-Time to really decide.
Zelda-We've been Rangers for so long.
Joey-It would be nice to not like really worry about saving the world.. I mean since a new team would take over for us.
Kimberly-True.
Chet-Hmm.
In downtown Terra Falls, people everywhere start screaming out in pure fright.. You see, in the middle of the main street there is something implanted.. Something that has begun its work by producing a high beam of light directed at the sky.. And if you look closely, you can see the image of a large cat's eye opening up really slowly.
A phone starts ringing in the other room.. Jeremy gets up to answer it. A few seconds later, he returns to the room everyone else is in and says.
Jeremy-Guys, trouble in the downtown area!
Nakia asks.
Nakia-Huh?
Jeremy-Kaitlynn just called.. She's there now.
Zelda-Uh oh.
Jeremy-She said there's a giant cat's eye in the sky opening up.
Ryan-A giant cat's eye?
Jeremy-Yes.
Ryan-We'd better get going then.
Ryan steps in front of his friends.. He then asks them.
Ryan-Everybody ready?!
They all say in unison.
Everyone-Ready!
Knowing what to do, all of them leap up into the air and form into glittering beams of light as Ryan says.
Ryan-IT'S MORPHIN TIME!
And with those words, those beams of light vanish. Jeremy says.
Jeremy-Good luck guys!
A woman, or what looks like a woman from the backside in a white lab coat is bending slightly to check on the cat's eye concentration base. When she stands back up, you can see she has a white fluffy tail..
Suddenly, all of the Rangers flip into action.. In this sequence.. Red, Yellow, Pink, Black, White and Blue.. They all land on the left side of the street together. The Red Ranger steps forward and shouts out at the woman.
Red Ranger-HEY!
The woman turns around and reveals her true face.. She then takes off her lab coat and sends out a band of claw like torpedoes that strike the Rangers.. They groan out and fall to the ground.
Power Rangers-UGHH!
She speaks now.
Kitty-How dare you interrupt a very delicate procedure!
I have to add something now.. I'm sure you're all wondering what Kitty looks like.. So here it is. She is tall, slender and her body is covered in a thick white fur, so of course you get the idea that she is generally a cat.. She always wears her uniform which is basically a tight leather suit.
The Rangers get back up.. The Red Ranger commands the rest of the team to attack Kitty and stop the base of the concentration beam.. They obey and attack..
The Pink and Yellow Rangers leap up into the sky with their weapons in hand.. The Yellow Ranger fires a lightning arrow and the Pink Ranger throws her wind javelins.. So both strikes hit Kitty right in her chest.. She yells out a bit and is pushed away from the concentration beam's base. Both of the Rangers land next to the base, but before they can do anything.. Kitty gets back up and says as she generates disrupter power that shoots out from her claws.
Kitty-Try some disrupter power! Rowr!
The power wraps around both the Yellow and Pink Rangers.. They're bodies become unstable so they lose their balances and fall on their backs as the disrupter power surges through them continuously.
The other Rangers rush over to attack Kitty hand in hand.. But they are knocked back to the ground by a tail like whip.
Power Rangers-UGHH!
The Red Ranger gets up on his feet and leaps into the sky.. There he goes into cannonball flip mode and when he comes out of the mode, he lands right next to Kitty with his triple blade sword in hand.. He strikes her continuously all throughout her body.. When he gives her the last strike to her face, she ends up being forced to twirl around vigorously to the ground.
Kitty-ROWR! UGHHH!
The professor watches the event with the Rangers from his screens in his lab.. He says.
Professor Feliness-I knew they would interfere.
He growls intensely.
Back to the fight..
Kitty gets up and raises her back.. Suddenly power begins to surge through her body.. Her eyes glow brightly purple, her claws extend out farther, and her teeth grow larger, not to mention her fur growing outward as well.
Vanessa is walking towards the dangerous scene.. She notices from a ways away, the cats eye that's extending in the sky.. She says.
Vanessa-Hmm.. Maybe I can do something.
She rushes closer where she sees the Yellow and Pink Rangers getting back up because the disrupter power has worn off. The Pink Ranger says to the Yellow Ranger.
Pink Ranger-We've got to destroy that thing, now!
But its too late.. Vanessa finds a big tree just a few feet away from everyone and watches from behind it. She witnesses the major slashing strikes all of the Power Rangers receive from Kitty.. She gasps.
Vanessa-No way! A warped looking cat!
She thinks to herself deeply now about the Professor.
Vanessa-The professor! He must be behind this!
The Rangers don't give up.. They regroup but find themselves away from the cat's eye base.. Kitty laughs and says to the Rangers
Kitty-I don't know who you are. But you're not going to interfere with this..
She's about to attack again.. Only now, the Red Ranger says with force.
Red Ranger-Fury of the storm time Rangers, NOW!
As they power up.. Vanessa watches still. And she hears someone from behind her.
Amanda-Hey what's going on?
Vanessa turns and asks.
Vanessa-Who are you?
Amanda-I'm Amanda. I was trying to get to a store down this way.
Vanessa-No luck.. The Rangers are fighting.
Amanda notices.
Amanda-Wow. Another cat monster.
Vanessa asks.
Vanessa-Another cat monster?
Amanda-Yeah.
Kitty powers up even more and just as she sends out another strike, all of the Power Rangers leap up and form into streaking beams of light that enter the clouds of the sky.. Soon the clouds begin to rumble.. Kitty looks up and sees the rumbling clouds.
Kitty-Huh?! Where'd they go!?
The clouds produce a huge powerful circular energy cyclone.. Inside of the energy cyclone are obvious surges of powerful red fire, yellow lightning, pink wind, white snow, black ice and blue rain.
The cyclone takes Kitty and twists her body into an explosive oblivion. When it dies down, the energies form back into the Red Ranger, Yellow Ranger, Pink Ranger, White Ranger, Black Ranger and Blue Ranger..
Vanessa notices a big rock behind Amanda, so she asks.
Vanessa-Hey hand me that rock behind you, okay?
Amanda looks behind herself and gets the rock.. She hands it to Vanessa and asks in regards to the cat's eye base.
Amanda-You going to smash that thing over there?
Vanessa-Yeah.
The Rangers return to normal and when the explosion finally clears up.. Pieces of Kitty are evident that she hasn't been completely destroyed.. In fact, the pieces start surging..
The White Ranger says.
White Ranger-Oh no! Looks like she's going to put herself back together again.
The Black Ranger says.
Black Ranger-We're ready for her!
The pieces do reform, but they also do something the Rangers don't expect.. They disappear.
Glass is heard shattering from behind the Rangers.. They turn to see Vanessa and Amanda completely destroying the base which held the beam of the cat's eye.. The Yellow Ranger goes over to them and says.
Yellow Ranger-Hey good job. Thanks.
Vanessa responds at the same time the image of the giant cat's eye in the sky vanishes.
Vanessa-You're welcome.
Yellow Ranger-You two better get out of here before something else happens.
Vanessa-But I want to talk to you and the other Rangers.. I think I know what's going on.
Yellow Ranger-You do?
Vanessa-Yes.
Yellow Ranger-Hmm.. Allright. I'll tell the others.
The Yellow Ranger goes back over to her friends to tell her what Vanessa had said.
Back at the professors home, and in his lab.. He sits in his chair holding his cat.. And stroking its fur again.
Professor Feliness-So. The war against those who oppose me and my ways has begun! So be it! I won't rest until this entire planet is inhabited by cats!
He laughs manically evil as everything fades to black..
