"Albert, put that one right there… And one here… That's good. Almost done!"
Little Hero walked around the towering pyramid that was already four times his size, his best friend standing nearby with his long clawed arms lowered as he held another compacted earth block.
"What do you think, Albert? Is it done? Or do you want it even bigger? Its bigger than our last one for sure…"
"Rurrr…" The tall creature responded with an affirmative, pleased tone, its pink eyes on its creation, and carefully put the last piece on the very top, making the pyramid just a tiny bit skewed. Hero narrowed his eyes at it and shook his head. After a moment, looking at him questioningly, the being picked up the block and made it disappear entirely who knows where.
"That's better. Now it looks right. Even from every side." Hero commented with a pleased nod. "And we are done?"
His inquisitive and hopeful voice was answered by another soft rumble. The Traveler also contently looked at the small pyramid that he built with Hero's help on top of a tall cliff next to a misty edge.
"Yey! It looks really good, too. But it's the fifth one today. Aren't you tired of building?"
"Rur rurp." The Traveller denied softly and Hero laughed brightly.
"Well, I am tired a little. And hungry again, too. Where are we, anyway? I cannot even see my village from here." Hero cautiously steps to the edge and peers down into the smoky abyss below, feeling a thrilled shiver go throughout his entire body at the far away sight of a floating distant island.
His eyes narrow at it with recognition.
"This is just like from my dream." He says wonderingly and looks at his best friend next, who is still contently looking at his pyramid.
"Albert… have you seen any human villages nearby?" Hero asks hopefully.
"Rurp." Albert responds with a firm denial.
"Have you seen any human villages at all? Or any humans?" Hero prods next and receives a an unspoken question back.
"Yes, I want to find them and talk to them. Maybe they have seen my atta? Everyone except Tnul think that he respawned already. But I think that he is still alive. And I had seen him in my dreams. He was in a human village, but not in real one. It was abandoned for many years. There was a portal and he went through it…"
"Rurp." At the wave of stern rejection, Hero's lips turn upside down and he struggles to keep from crying.
"But why not? Why won't you take me to them?" He frowns at the being who looks down at him with a strange sense of worry and protection.
"What do you mean they will hurt me? I'm just a little boy…"
Hero says in confusion and then blinks. "No, I am not! I'm not like you! They won't attack me! I'll just tell them that I am a mage and that's why my eyes glow like that. That's what appa Grake said. And uncle Fir, too… That doesn't make me a monster."
"…"
Hero stubbornly crosses his hands across his chest. "I want to meet real Humans. I need to talk to them and ask about Atta!.."
"…"
"Please! Please take me to them!"
"…"
"At least take me someplace nearby? So, I can see what they look like? They won't attack me if they cannot see me." Hero finally offers. "And if they are bad humans, then I will stay away. Alright?"
This time the Traveler's response is a bit more uncertain. Feeling that he had almost won, Hero makes his best pleading gaze as he looks at his friend. "Please, Albert? Please?"
The being gives up and makes a disapproving, worried sound. Hero instead grins brightly and reaches to take his hand, his small fingers grasping one of Albert's.
"Thank you, Albert." He says gratefully, looking up as his white eyes shine, meeting pink ones. In the next moment, both of them disappear from the cliff, leaving yet another small pyramid behind on top of a mist surrounded cliff…
