"Well, looks like this would be a battle worth participating in, don't you think, Satoshi?" A male voice called out.
On the other side of the field, the opponent is a ten-year-old boy who is well-acquainted with since the start of his journey.
"Yeah, and I never thought I would manage to get this far in the league. But prepare yourself, as I'll be showing you how far I've come!" Satoshi declared as he took out a Poké Ball.
"Heh…" I chuckled as I took a Poké Ball out as well. "...I look forward to it."
We got into a stance before we started our personal match.
"GO!" We both shouted as we threw our respective Poké Balls.
….
….
….
Hold it! This is too far ahead in the future!
Let's backtrack a tad!
"Prepare yourself, for-"
Nope!
"Satoshi! Be ser-"
Still too far!
"Ah… this is life!" I declared while Satoshi, Pikachu, and I relaxed on a tropical beach.
Damn it, that's way too far ahead!
"Are you sure he can handle t-"
Almost…
"Ugh…" I moaned as I woke up in a soft bed.
"Ah, I see you're awakening." An old and gentle male voice spoke.
Ok! Here we go!
"Oh… my head… what did I do last night?" I moaned as my eyes adjusted to the dim lighting in the room.
The room was of a modest size. The walls were of a cozy emerald green. A single window was placed next to the bed I was in and it showed the outside weather being a rainy day. The sounds of water droplets rapidly hit the glass with the rare sound of lightning hitting at times.
I tried to get up from the bed, only to feel a sense of nausea preventing it.
"Now now… it's best to continue resting my dear boy. You were in quite bad shape when I found you a while ago." The old voice said.
I groaned a bit in discomfort before tilting my head to see who the voice belonged to the room.
Sitting near the edge of the bed was a man in his senior year, with gray hair and brown eyes. He wore a red shirt, sandy slacks, and brown loafers along with a white lab coat. But despite his seemingly grandfatherly appearance, he holds a strong aura that indicates a man with plenty of experience in physical activity in his youth and the wisdom befitting his station.
To my surprise, I knew who this man was, as he was a renowned character from the most popular Mon games ever produced in Japan.
"P-Pro… fessor… O-Oak…" I managed to speak before the darkness took away my consciousness once more.
"Oh, you poor ol' boy." Dr. Yukinari Ohkido said with sympathy.
Not much in his life had he seen such an event happening to someone this young.
It was just another day in the busy lab for the old Pokémon Professor until a lightning storm hit Pallet Town. For a while, Professor Ohkido still went on his day as the storm was simply like any other bad weather until a loud and violent lightning struck the ground a good distance from the laboratory. It was so powerful that it caused Ohkido to shield his eyes from a bright flash it produced along with the floor trembling from the force. Once it died down, Ohkido took a good look out the window and saw the impact of where the lighting had struck.
The grass was completely scorched black and a shallow crater was formed. But what immediately got Professor Ohkido's attention was the body of a boy lying in the spot where the lightning struck.
Filled with worry, the Pokémon Professor quickly put on his raincoat and ran outside. When he got closer to the boy, Professor Ohkido was shocked to see the boy's body nearly covered in various 2nd-degree burns, with plenty of 3rd-degree burnt patches.
Professor Ohkido felt an urge to panic, only to become astonished to see the injuries on the boy's body healing at a rapid pace. New skin grew over the damaged and burnt parts with visible steam. It was unlike anything that Professor Ohkido had seen in all his years of Pokémon research.
After the boy's body is now voided of any burn injuries, Ohkido quickly checks for a pulse and can see that he is still breathing.
The Pokémon Professor sigh in relief and carefully carry the unconscious boy to the guest house.
"Ditto." A high-pitched voice was heard next to him.
It was Ditto, the Transform Pokémon. It is a light-purple or pink blob-like Pokémon with vestigial facial features. It is often referred to as amorphous but has a relatively consistent appearance in official artwork, including two small nubs on its "head", a few soft lumps at its base, and two pseudopod-like protrusions in place of arms. The face consists of beady eyes and a simple mouth; almost always pulled into a smile.
Similar to the Professor, Ditto was concerned for the health of the unconscious boy as Ohkido brought him to the guest house. It looks at Professor Ohkido, hoping that the boy will be alright.
Professor Ohkido gave a reassuring smile to Ditto and patted its gelatinous head.
"Don't worry, Ditto. The boy will soon recover as good as new in a few days." Professor Ohkido said, causing the Transform Pokémon to nod.
The Pokémon Professor's face then turned into a worrying one as he looked back at the unnamed boy currently sleeping in the bed.
'Still… I have plenty of questions that would need answering by the time he wakes up and has the strength to function properly. With a big regarding his knowledge of my name… even though what he calls me sounds similar."
With that thought in mind, the Pokémon Professor and Ditto stayed in the room for a bit longer, with the only sounds in the room were the gentle snoring of the unnamed boy and the rain outside.
Oh yeah! Almost forgot to give some introductions.
So you're probably wondering who I am.
Well, that's the fun part my friend… a mere fanboy who died and was transported to the Pokémon world.
My time on Earth was never a good one, as it only resulted in hardships until the day that Truck-kun's cousin ended me.
How bad was it? I'll keep that for myself and prefer that it stays buried.
All I will tell you is that the few things that gave me comfort were the joys of cartoons, comics, anime, and video games.
And what do you know? I happen to be transported to the Pokémon world thanks to the intervention of a certain Legendary Diving Pokémon.
However, wait till you see how I enjoy my new life in the Pokémon world and become a Pokémon champion and streamer!
Until then, see you readers soon!
Oh, I hope you guys don't mind the name change as I'll explain that in the first chapter (since this is only the prologue after all).
