Hello gentlemen and ladies
My first fan fic for the new year of 2025, and is NCIS crossing over with Angel show from the Buffyverse, so a brand-new fandom too.
I am thanking Aragorn_II_Elessar and Stand_with_Ward_and_Queen for the help/discussions we had over NCIS on the absurd Tony/Ziva pandering alongside being a poor relationship. How Timothy McGee/Ziva works, and comparisons to Buffyverse on unhealthy pairings.
NCIS verse's upcoming spin off unlike NCIS Origins of Tony/Ziva focus is nothing more than pandering cash grab as well.
Takes place in NCIS season 8x05 Dead Air.
Midafternoon, Street in Washington DC – Mid-October 2010
Inside a car Tony DiNozzo who's in the passenger seat holding a pair of binoculars from looking across at Ziva, meeting up with their terrorist contact, alongside Timothy McGee working on a laptop.
"She's playing herself, Tony, from five years ago, before she started at NCIS," Timothy says answering the agent's ridiculous question.
"Sassy rogue Mossad agent. Sometimes I miss that little minx" Tony says.
"It's only temporary till we find out what our suburban terrorists are planning" Timothy replies.
Frowning "She's not doing a very good job. The body language is all wrong. Classic Ziva would've been more reckless, hair would've been more wild. She was very sexual then" Tony says.
"You think Ziva's less sexual now?" Timothy asks in pure disbelief, and a tinge of anger given how his dark-haired friend has grown beyond just being an assassin.
"Compared to the Ziva I shared a bed with five years ago, yeah," Tony says smugly.
"You guys were undercover. I mean, you were just putting on a show. You were putting on a show, right?" Timothy asks, only not completely believing it.
Suddenly the door opens as a dark-haired man wearing dark clothes including a leather jacket, enters the back seat closing the door.
"Don't worry about it Tim, DiNozzo is just making crap up hoping for a reaction, and trying to play off his ego for what he wishes to happen" Angel says.
"What's your problem with me? And second, this is a federal investigation so either, get out or we will arrest you" Tony says.
"You couldn't hold me even if I wasn't normal, and don't worry I'll be gone quick enough. I hope you do stop the Military At Home terrorist group, I liked Adam Gator's radio show" Angel says.
"What are you doing here Angel?" Timothy inquires.
"Wait… you know him?" Tony responds.
"Yeah, we've met, and Gibbs knows him too from his early NIS days at Camp Pendleton. Different story for another time" Timothy says.
"Put simply DiNozzo you are an idiot, that Ziva David is somehow less attractive? Why, cause she's not a wild killer or something? In the end, no different than how I used to view women, like Drusilla. You care about Ziva, sure, but beyond any sexual relations would you ever consider marrying her? Actual commit or would you just get uninterested? I know a thing or two about unhealthy relationships, like one I had with Buffy Summers" Angel says.
"He has a point; you seem to spend more time getting jealous over her boyfriends and only reference Ziva for how hot or skilled she is in fighting," Timothy says.
Scoffing "What is this, gang up on poor DiNozzo. Besides yeah, she's hot, that's not a problem, is it? Besides, Ziva has gotten jealous of my girlfriends. We flirt and it's not just one-sided" Tony says.
"You did just admit that Ziva was more attractive back when you first met. Plus still have not answered my question" Angel says.
"I… can you just leave? Listen between Ziva and me you sound like you want to date her" Tony says unhappily.
"No, I got Cordelia back, which is a much longer story that we don't have time for," Angel says.
"Oh, she's back? I'm happy for you" Timothy says.
"Thanks, and I'm here to help you as well," Angel says.
"Why are you here to help me?" Timothy inquires.
"Ziva and her current boyfriend is a real fraud. Ray Cruz is from the CIA to spy on you guys with little regard for casualties" Angel says.
"Guessing Ziva doesn't know," Tony says.
Meanwhile, Timothy clenches his fists in anger briefly, choosing to remain silent to figure out what he would say. Of course, his soul-filled vampire friend has other ideas.
"No just like neither one of you have talked about your feelings," Angel says.
Laughing "Feelings? Both are just siblings. The entire idea of McGeek and ninja Ziva like… makes me feel like vomiting" Tony says shuttering.
Glancing over in annoyance "Really Angel?" Timothy inquiries.
"Tell me I'm wrong McGee," the vampire says.
"Of course you are, she's not his type, and Ziva's too much of a sexy, gun-wielding ninja for somebody like him," Tony says boastfully.
Rolling his eyes "Gee thanks DiNozzo" Timothy says.
"Let McGee answer instead of just talking over him," Angel says.
"Sure, but will it make any difference, right McNerdy?" Tony says.
"Actually," Timothy says exhaling "Angel is right. It's just buried beyond something you are able to understand and not… neither of us has discussed it. Mostly me cause the possibility of being too risky, out of my depth, and I care too much about her as a friend."
"Maybe a bit of a crush given after all it is Ziva whose hot is seriously high, but you guys don't have any sizzling rip-your-clothes chemistry like us," Tony says grinning.
"Why you both will never work. All you have is some sex and that's it. Like beyond… well we have always had a friendship. I mean we've found each other attractive, Ziva's commented on it more than once" Timothy says.
"Yeah, but that is just to mess with me," Tony says in disbelief.
"Tony, you seem to think you are Castle with her as Kate Beckett, you're not. I really can't remember much of when Ziva has found you attractive and she has commented on men she thinks are" Timothy points out.
"The varying times Ziva has come to McGee's defense; it's one of the things that pinged my interest. For when you were making fun of his fear of heights for example, or after McGee got out of the female prison, she offered to hurt any of them if they harmed him. Brought him a gift for helping adjust to living in DC that you stole" Angel says.
"Yeah, but Ziva will walk all over McGee like nothing, she needs a real man like me," Tony says.
"I'm not who I was when I first dated Abby or joined this team. You've seen me grow; I can give you back as good as you give me. Besides if you think Ziva will walk all over me, out of some superiority thing you don't know her very well" Timothy says.
"Oh, and you do? Where's your proof?" Tony asks.
"Navy Lieutenant Roy Sanders," Timothy says.
Glancing off "Right" Tony mutters knowing that Sanders is one thing he has buried deep down because of how different he was from anybody else Ziva has ever shown interest in. Something that is a little more real. Someone… who was or is like McGee. It terrifies him because if McGee ever truly did decide to pursue Ziva and David returning any feelings then there would never be a chance for somebody like him.
"Well best be off for now, and I'll tell Ziva about the CIA dirtbag after this case is over," Angel says then glancing over "DiNozzo, let me make this clear your interest ends today. Your comments end, regardless of what happens Ziva is off-limits. I didn't join up with a soulless Spike who was disgusted at the Nazis in those camps, on freeing all the prisoners including Ziva's grandparents, and showing the scum true death for nothing."
"But that's impossible, you're crazy. Nobody can live that long and look like you do" Tony says.
Letting out his fangs briefly appear "You sure about that?" Angel replies icily.
DiNozzo goes pure white for a moment as Angel's teeth return to normal. Privately the vampire has some joy given the stories he's heard over the years about how DiNozzo treats people, including his friend. McGee helped with a mess involving demons and Tara coming back alongside reuniting with her lover Willow. One reason he owes the younger man.
"How is Spike these days?" Timothy inquiries.
"Still as annoying as ever, Buffy and he remain together. You missed the wedding" Angel replies.
"We had what ended up being a rescue mission in Somalia," Timothy says.
"Oh, right on Ziva returning," Angel says.
"Given this conversation has been taking a while won't we have missed what happened?" Timothy asks.
"The Author, one of the Powers That Be, known as outside of our plane of existence, even among the others helped freeze events until I'm done" Angel replies.
"See you around Angel. Say hi to your LA team" Timothy says.
"Likewise, and will do. Take care" Angel says.
While Angel exits the vehicle Timothy glances over to Tony watching as color slowly returns. Looking out the windows McGee can see events becoming unfrozen.
"Probie did that happen?" Tony asks shakily.
"Yes," Timothy says.
"You uh, have some interesting friends," Tony says.
"I know" Timothy replies.
Nighttime, Apartment in Silver Spring Washington DC – Early November
Hearing a knock on her door, Ziva, in a dark-colored T-shirt and sweatpants walks over glancing through the peephole, with mild surprise yet not for who's on the other side opens it.
"Can I come in?" Timothy inquiries.
"Sure," Ziva says, "I had a feeling I might be seeing you eventually."
"Really?" Timothy asks while entering.
"Your friend Angel told me I might," Ziva says closing the door.
"What exactly did he say?" Timothy inquires.
"Nothing, just you might be having a conversation and how my feelings are not completely one-sided," Ziva says.
"Yeah, Angel's not one to mince words and your feelings for me? Why?" Timothy asks in partial disbelief.
"Yes, is it so hard to believe?" Ziva inquiries.
"Michael Rivkin, Ray Cruz and of course Tony with the flirting dance you've been having for years," Timothy says, "You're out of my league."
"I appear to have a certain type, yes. But men like that have all left or used me, if not both. You are like Roy. Kind, gentle yet very far from weak despite what others consider you to be. Others who need to be the center of attention, you do not" Ziva says softly.
"Or myself," Timothy says.
"You do not give yourself enough credit, I have seen you stand up to Gibbs more than any of us. You choose when to speak, you treat people with respect, and you can make a woman feel wanted and cared for. Make me feel cared for" Ziva says.
"As friend or?" Timothy asks.
Reaching out to gently cup his cheek "As a friend, always. Only it can be something more" Ziva says
Covering her hand "Ziva… I have always… if we do this there is no going" Timothy says.
"I know Tim, nor do I wish to either," Ziva says.
Leaning in Timothy and Ziva share a kiss that begins gently enjoying the feeling of tenderness while David moves her arms around McGee's neck.

Yeah, DiNozzo's comment for considering Ziva less attractive than her first appearance is as Aragon said of Tony being dumb.
Which just reaffirm how DiNozzo sees Ziva on any conversation about her is always sex focused, fighting skills or like some kind of Bond girl. Hardly ever a person. Another thing I can't really recall much of Ziva saying she finds Tony attractive.
I can find Ziva commenting on McGee's looks, however, a handful of times, (ending the sibling excuse) and varying times stepping up in defense of Tim. Really DiNozzo reminds me more of Michael Rivkin or Ray Cruz for Ziva's bad pairings. Buffyverse wise is Xander/Cordelia.
Tony's character never really changed for wanting marriage or anything. NCIS Tiva writers just gave him a kid from Ziva before sending DiNozzo off the show. So, no I don't buy Tony would ever "settle down" for Ziva when having nothing establishing that and their last on-screen appearance together so Tony/Ziva telling one another goodbye going different ways.
I'll accept NCIS Origins compared to the later season's canon for cherry picking. And shippers going Ziva would never be interested in McGee? Tell that to Roy Sanders.
Like if Tim and Ziva were not a Tiva threat yet how come in season 10, they kept cutting scenes to be just Tony/Ziva, and one episode is removed Ziva looking up college writing classes. Something in common with McGee and a different episode has Ziva talking about enjoying a book as her down time. Gee, what other characters have that interest? Yeah ding, ding McGee.
