Hello, my fellow YGO fans, cheers for the last day of 2024 and say hello to a new year… and hopefully it's a good year… I hope.
I hope you all are having a wonderful time with your families right now.
Anyway, like I mention, at this point on is all new so enjoy the new update.
-Domino High-
Yami sighed in exhaustion, "I thought running from cops was frightening, but having to run away from those girls is another level of fright."
After the festival, the following Monday, it was Yami's first day at Domino High while Jaden went to Domino Elementary.
Since it was his first day, Seto was given the task to show his cousin around the school.
Of course, that caused the girls look towards Seto and Yami with hearts in their eyes as they stepped onto the school grounds.
It was a good thing that Yami's classes were honors.
The girls in his classes didn't really pay attention to him. It was the younger girls that were giving him and his cousin the dreamy look on their faces.
Currently, it was lunch and the two were at the rooftop waiting for the others.
Seto smirked, "Get used to it, Atem. It happened to me as well. I had to request to be homeschool until high school where I would go to school only to pick up my assignments for the month or if there were any exams."
Yami pouted a bit, "At least you can run away from those hyenas…"
Seto just let out a laugh as the gang made it to the rooftop.
"So, how's your classes so far?" Yugi asked.
He and the gang sat around Yami and Seto.
"It's not bad," replied Yami before looking annoyed. "Just not pleased to watch my back from those fangirls."
Joey and Tristan just snickered while Tea, mentally, was pissed.
Yami sighed, "I'm just glad that the girls in my classes don't give any attention to us."
"I highly doubt anyone can be distracted in your classes," said Tristan.
"Yea, honor classes are the pain in the neck," said Duke.
"If you don't pay attention, you're screwed," said Seto.
"I thought in any kind of lesson, students need to pay attention," said Yami.
Seto snorted, "Not all students pay attention even if it's the norm ones."
Yugi and the gang let out a small laughter before looking over at Joey's direction.
"I see," murmured Yami while Joey was glaring at them.
-Domino Elementary-
After being introduced to his class, Jaden was sitting next to a small bluenette boy.
They did a couple of math problems, vocabulary, and a few exercises before it was lunch time.
When Jaden grabbed his food, he looked around and spotted the same bluenette sitting by himself. The brunette grinned and walked over to him.
"Hey, it is alright if sit next to you?"
"Oh, yea, sure. Go ahead."
Jaden grinned and sat down, "So, your names Syrus, right?"
The small bluenette nodded, "You're the new kid in my class. Jaden Muto."
"Yup. I hope we can be friends," said Jaden, eating his burger.
"Friends? You… want to be my friend?" Syrus said, speechless.
"Yea, why not?" Jaden said.
Syrus looked down, "It's cause I never had a friend. Not even in Preschool and Kindergarten. Everyone rather makes fun of me cause of my height."
Jaden frowned, "That's not right. They shouldn't judge you by your looks or height but instead your personality… or so what my brother says."
"You have an older brother?" Syrus said.
Jaden grinned, "Two actually. Atem, but I use his middle name which is Yami and Yugi. And I have two cousins, Seto and Mokuba. What about you?"
"One older brother and his name is Zane," replied Syrus. "He's in fourth grade."
"Yami and Seto are in eleventh grade, Yugi is in tenth grade and Mokuba is in sixth grade," said Jaden after taking a sip from his milk.
"Wow, you have a big family, Jaden," said Syrus. "How big your house is?"
"Mm, it's not a house. We live in a mansion," replied Jaden.
"M-Mansion?!" Syrus said in shock. "You-You're rich?!"
"Um, I guess, but I don't really care about money," said Jaden. He then looked at his hamburger, "What I do like is food."
"…mm, rich people are normally snobby," said Syrus. "Why are you not?"
"Mm, I guess cause I wasn't originally from a rich family. I was adopted," replied Jaden.
Almost all throughout lunch, Jaden told Syrus about his life.
"Wow, you had it rough," said Syrus as the two walked out from the cafeteria.
Jaden sighed, "It would have been much worse if Yami wasn't with me. But now, I have an entire new family."
Syrus smiled, "That's good. Come, let me introduce you to my brother. He should be with his friend, Atticus."
"Lead the way, Sy," said Jaden.
The small bluenette took Jaden to the playground and behind the swings were two boys with a small dirty blond girl.
"Big brother, look. Jaden is the new kid in my class," said Syrus. "Jaden, this is my older brother, Zane and his friend, Atticus and Alexis."
Zane smiled a bit, "Nice to meet you, Jaden."
"Hey there, little Jaden," said Atticus.
"Hi," greeted Alexis.
Jaden tilted his head, "Are you in a different class, Alexis?"
"That's right," said Alexis.
"So, what do you like to do, Jaden?" Atticus asked.
Jaden grinned, "Well, I really like any type of food. And I'm just learning about duel monsters."
"Duel monsters, huh? What do you say, Jaden? We duel?" Zane asked.
Jaden's eyes sparkle, "I would love to! But I need to rebuild my deck."
"Why?" Alexis asked.
Jaden then told them what happened a year ago.
"Alright, let me know when you have it ready," said Zane.
Jaden nodded, excitedly.
"Why not let them see us duel," said Atticus.
"Sure, why not," said Zane.
The five of them went over to a table nearby and took out their decks.
Alexis took out a pencil and paper as she would be marking down their life points.
The rest of their lunch, Jaden, Syrus and Alexis watched the duel against Zane and Atticus.
Sadly, they couldn't finish as the bell ring.
And the five of them went to their classrooms.
-Afterschool-
As the Muto brothers and the gang were heading out, Jaden ran towards Yami and hugged his legs. The girls nearby let out a 'aw' sound upon seeing it.
"How was your first day? Mine was great! I even made a few new friends! Oh, hi guys."
Yami chuckled a bit, "It… was alright. But where's grandfather?"
"In the limo. It's parked not too far from the school entrance," replied Jaden.
All of them entered the limo.
"Ah, seeing that you're alive and kicking, you survived your first day of school, Atem," said Solomon.
Yami smiled, "I'm surprised as well, grandfather. There were times I thought I was going to be attacked by those hyenas."
"Na, with Kaiba with ya, you're safe," said Joey.
"And he's going to be for this week," said Seto.
"Wait, you're coming to school this whole week," said Tea.
"That's a first for quite some time," said Tristan.
"Is there a project or something?" Yugi asked.
Yami nodded, "All of our classes minus PE assigned us a project…"
"A group project. Atem, Kisara and I are paired together in all our classes," said Seto.
"Projects? In all your classes? I can barely handle one," whined Joey.
"Lousy luck for your first day, Atem," said Tristan.
Yami scratched his cheek, "I guess, but the assignment of the projects is not hard."
"Not… hard?" Joey said with a face.
"What assign projects you need to do?" Yugi asked.
"All but History is in our choice of what we were reading for the pass month," replied Seto. "History needs to be something about Egypt."
"Oh, if you need any help, you can ask me," said Solomon.
"I don't think we need it grandfather, but thanks for the offer," said Seto.
"Do you have any homework, Jaden?" Yami asked.
"Um, yea, just a few math and vocabulary sheets," replied Jaden. "I got a few extra to catch up with the other students."
The limo stopped and everyone got out and entered the mansion.
"Hey there guys," greeted Mokuba as the gang entered the living room. He grinned, "How was your first day of school, cousins?"
"I'm alive," joked Yami.
"It was great!" Jaden said, happily.
"So, who is your new friends' names?" Yugi asked the small brunette.
Jaden grinned, "Well, there's Syrus, Alexis… um, oh, Zane, Syrus' older brother, and Atticus, Alexis' older brother. Can they come over and play this weekend?"
"I don't see why not. Seto?" Solomon said.
"Fine by me," said Seto. "Now, if you would excuse us, Atem and I need to video chat Kisara on what we will be doing in our projects."
"I don't think I'll survive in honor classes," murmured Joey.
Yugi and the gang agreed before they started doing their homework.
-Saturday, Kaiba Mansion-
"And this is the playroom," said Jaden.
The young brunette was showing his friends around the mansion which did surprise them. Not only where their new friend lived, but who his cousin was.
Thy Seto Kaiba, the CEO of Kaiba Corporation.
It was no wonder why he lived in a mansion.
"This is your playroom?!" Syrus said, dramatically. "It's as big as our living room!"
"Not to mention, you have almost every toy and game ever made here," said Atticus.
"Really?" Jaden scratched his cheek, "I didn't notice. Mokuba just showed me this room a few days after coming here in Domino."
Alexis giggled, "Most kids will die for this room. But you are a strange boy, Jaden."
The brunette shrugged, "I guess. So, what do you want to play first?"
"How about that duel?" Zane said, taking out his deck. "You said you're just building your deck. Let's test it out."
Jaden's eyes shine and led them to a table.
"Before we start, this table will make the monsters appear like those duel disks that my cousin made not too long ago."
"So, it shows the holographic image of the duel monsters," said Zane. He smiled a bit, "I guess I don't have to wait to experience a real duel."
Atticus sighed, "I wish they would make a kid version of the duel disk so us younger kids can duel with holographic image."
"I think there's a reason why they don't make one brother," said Alexis.
"Mm, there is a reason, but I don't remember," said Jaden.
For an hour, even though Jaden lost, he had fun and got some pointers from the two older boys. That's when a maid came and announced it was lunch time.
"Yugi! You're back!" Jaden said, spotting his brother, cousin and his friends.
He turned to his friends, "Guys, this is one of my brothers, Yugi and one of my cousins, Mokuba. And Yugi's friends, Joey, Tristain and Tea."
"Hey there, little Jay and little Jay's friends," greeted Joey.
He then noticed the small bluenette, "Mm, you little fella remind me when Yug was that small in elementary school."
While Yugi glared at him, Syrus just blushed.
"Mind him," said Tea after hitting Joey on the head. "What did you guys do this morning?"
"Mostly dueled," replied Zane.
"Even though Jaden lost, he didn't mind," said Syrus.
"And I like I said Sy, it's not about winning, it's about having fun," said Jaden. He then smiled sheepishly, "But I wouldn't mind winning at least once against Zane."
Yugi and the others just laughed before the maids served their lunch.
Afterwards, Solomon took Jaden's friends back home.
"Looks like Seto and Atem will be coming a bit late today," said Mokuba, looking at his cellphone.
While working on their school project, Seto was also working something for his company. However, when Yami took a peak, he was able to see something wrong.
The older Muto pointed it out to his cousin which angered him as his staff failed to notice.
After a few more incidents, Seto pointed Yami to Vice President of the company.
The older Kaiba was thinking of giving the spot to his brother but before his aunt passed away, she would not have it. So, he had that spot open in case he found someone that was decent to help him run the company.
And he was glad that he did.
That Saturday was Yami's first day working with Seto at KaibaCorp.
"At least with Yami's help, Seto wouldn't be coming home cranky," said Yugi.
Solomon giggled, "With Atem's help, Seto will be a slight calmer."
"Sometimes I feel bad for the guy," murmured Joey as Tristan agreed.
-Sapporo Police Station, night-
"Chief Thompson, we found something at Hirutani's old warehouse."
Raphael frowned, "What did you find?"
"…an underground escape hatch."
"What?!" Raphael snapped. "And you just found it now?!"
"S-Sorry, sir. It was well hidden. No one noticed until all of debris was cleared out."
Raphael gritted his teeth, "Have a couple of men and investigate inside. Report to me if you find any clues."
"Yes, Chief!"
Raphael hung up his phone before taking a deep breath.
'Great. Just a week ago, Chiyo escaped again ad now, there's a chance that Hirutani is alive… and if I know them, those two will stop at nothing to get rid of Atem once and for all. I need to warn them before it's too late.'
