And now the story (Episode Ein): starting off with a prologue about young Hoover Spooner summoned onto Neverland with the other children, only to rise up and battle the oppressive pirates between World Wars 1 . He built his ship, gathered his crew and adopted and created his alias Captain Spork to venture off deep into Nazi Germany on a daring rescue mission.
The story properly begins with a boy named Wilhelm – Captain Spork calls him Bill – running away from the Übermensch then saved by him and his band of pirates of the USS Bald Eagle who battle both the Nazis and Stalin's Soviets during World War 2. They break the children out, destroy the Nazi airbases and swat their planes out of the sky with stunts and tricks no aircraft could possibly achieve, especially from an airship and retreat to Neverland, the invisible island anchored outside of time.
Bill is properly introduced to Captain Spork and his crew: Amelia Earhart – survivor of Lockheed Electra that crashed not too far from Neverland, Adolf Hitler – former agent of the Weimar Republic, Ray Lamber – Belgian navigator, Donald Conners – Welsh engineer, Yves Auclair – French gunner and inventor of the Blasters – unguided rockets, and Jan Gerni – Swiss medic. He also grows accustomed to the Neverlanders and the Seaguards, defenders of the island.
In one night, when battling the nazis in Ukraine, Bill rescued a girl named Veselka and chose her to be his crew mate for the Bald Eagle. He realized he needs her just as much as she needs him as the two were traumatized and faced near-death moments.
Thankfully, Spork calms the two kids down and encourages the kids to seek help from his crew, like Jan, Amelia, Donald and Ray.
Taught by both Jan and Amelia for both flying the Bald Eagle and tending the crew, she becomes one of the heroines to battle tyranny and liberate the innocent and oppressed.
Both Bill & Veselka are thrusted into the war against evil and liberate the people – particularly children – from both the Nazis and Stalinists Soviets before being influenced by them to carry out their campaigns, all the while keeping Neverland a secret.
That is until Nazi spies have infiltrated Neverland and recorded it back to HQ to take the island as a bastion, should both the Allies and Pirates crush the reich. What results is a dogfight of both fighters and gunships battling on sea and air to defend Neverland from Nazi invasion, with both Bill & Veselka commanding and helming the Bald Eagle respectively.
There is also a subplot involving one of the pirates who happens to be a Soviet spy. Have him secure Neverland so that Stalin can invade both Americas only for the pirate to betray him so he can seize Neverland for himself.
Fortunately since both the Soviets and Nazis are involved in the battle, the pirates make both fleets fight each other, taking advantage of the chaos and wipe out both fleets, sparing Neverland.
Feeling that Neverland is no longer a secret and now wide open for attack, invasion and/or exploitation, Captain Spork evacuates the Neverlanders to return to their homelands – or at least retreat to the Americas. Only the Seaguards must stay to bastion the island, but even they may not stand for long as nations with far advanced technology could destroy the island's only defenders, The rest of the pirates go to German with the allies – including the Soviets of course – to crush the reich, and later divide it between the West and east.
Spork sees the assault on Germany as unworthy and decides to return to his home; Seattle Washington. He hides the Bald Eagle same for the fairy dust, keeping it in need of emergencies for both himself, Bill & Veselka.
The two kids have a moment, thankful they're still alive, but still traumatized by the effects of the war. With Spork taking them to his homeland with such care and kindness, they feel safe and feel hopeful to become American citizens, a place of freedom, justice, trust, acceptance, understanding and peace; though not perfect...
Still, he treats both Wilhelm and Veselka like children of his own, in turn they see him like a father they lost. Before becoming a pirate, he was indeed once a sailor fishing crabs, lobsters and shrimp for the seafood market, but must now retire to look after the children, maybe adopting either or both, depending on how they see each other.
Maybe they accept each other as brother & sister or one day fall in love.
Nevertheless, Episode 1 ends with the trio sailing together on Spork's boat, making their way over to Vancouver, just like his family when he was the kids' age.
