Chapter 15

The Sword of Damocles

The room fell silent as Axel finished his story, the weight of his words hanging in the air like a challenge. The Rangers and their mentors, Chiron, Hestia, and Moira, exchanged somber glances, their faces etched with concern and curiosity.

Axel, now unmorphed and dressed in his civilian clothes, stood before them, his eyes gleaming with a fierce determination. Jason, ever the leader, spoke up, his voice measured.

"Axel, how did you get a Morpher in the first place?" he asked, his eyes narrowing.

Axel's gaze drifted upward, as if recalling a memory from a distant past. "Zeus gave it to me," he said, his voice filled with reverence. "He blessed it with the divinity of Ares, the god of war. When I morph, my skills are amplified to those of a demigod in battle."

The room erupted into a flurry of whispers and gasps, the Rangers and their mentors exchanging awestruck glances. The implications of Axel's words were staggering – a mortal, imbued with the power of a god, fighting alongside them.

Emily's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "That's incredible," she breathed. "But what does it mean for us? For our mission?"

Axel's gaze locked onto Emily's, his expression grim. "It means we have a chance to change the course of events," he said. "To prevent the disaster that I witnessed in the future. But it won't be easy. We'll have to work together, to trust each other, and to fight with every ounce of strength we have."

The room fell silent once more, the Rangers and their mentors digesting Axel's words. They knew that the road ahead would be fraught with danger, but they also knew that they had each other, and that together, they could overcome even the most daunting challenges.

Hestia stood, sighed and looked around the room with a forlorn expression before speaking, "If truly what Axel has said is true, then you will need all the help you can get. And the gods has sent something to aid you in your battles. We can only hope that it is enough." She produced a pouch from her waist, opened it and six crystals flew out attaching itself to the Morphers of the Rangers.

As the crystals attached themselves to the Morphers, the Rangers felt a surge of energy coursing through their bodies. The crystals began to glow, and the Rangers' eyes widened in amazement.

"What are these crystals?" Jason asked, his voice filled with wonder.

"They are the Crystals of the Gods," Moira explained. "Each crystal is imbued with the power of the gods, and they will grant you the extra boost you need in battle."

Hestia stepped forward, a warm smile on her face. "With these crystals, you will be able to access new powers and abilities. You will be stronger, faster, and more agile than ever before."

The Rangers looked at each other, excitement and anticipation building up inside them. They knew that with the Crystals of the Gods, they would be able to face any challenge that came their way.

Axel then looked at the team, and Jason asked what he was doing in the future in the first place. Axel shrugged and said that he was curious to see how the war would turn out. So, he met a god who exhibited the powers of Time and made a pact so Axel could be sent forward in time. Things didn't go as planned, and he ended up in 2035, ten years after they lost their battle.

Axel brought out a journal and told them that Chiron of the future handed this over to him. Chiron nodded grimly and asked Axel to get on with it. Axel then read out in the journal that the Rangers fell on the battlefield on 21st February, 2025. The room fell very silent, like a graveyard, as everyone looked at themselves in concern. The date given was in three days' time.

The weight of Axel's words hung in the air, and the Rangers exchanged worried glances. They knew they had to act fast to change their fate.

The room remained silent for what felt like an eternity. The Rangers exchanged worried glances, their minds racing with the weight of Axel's words.

"Three days?" Emily whispered, her voice trembling. "That's all the time we have left?"

Jason's face set in a determined expression. "We can't change the past, but we can change the future. We have to believe that we can alter the course of events."

Sofia shook her head. "But what if this is our fate? What if we're meant to lose?"

Robert placed a reassuring hand on Sofia's shoulder. "We can't give up. We have to fight, no matter what."

Hestia stepped forward, her eyes shining with determination. "I agree with Jason. We can change the future. And with the Crystals of the Gods, we have a chance to turn the tide of battle in our favor."

Chiron nodded in agreement. "We must use every resource at our disposal to ensure our victory. Axel, tell us more about what you've learned from the journal."

Axel nodded and continued reading from the journal, revealing more details about the final battle and the Rangers' ultimate fate. As he spoke, the room grew more somber, the weight of their destiny settling heavily upon the Rangers.

"What can we do?" Emily asked, her voice laced with determination.

Hestia stepped forward, her eyes shining with resolve. "We will use every resource at our disposal to ensure our victory. We have the Crystals of the Gods, and with them, we can unlock new powers and abilities."

Chiron nodded in agreement. "We must strategize and come up with a plan to defeat our enemies. We cannot afford to fail."

The Rangers nodded, determination etched on their faces. They knew the road ahead would be tough, but they were ready to face whatever challenges lay in store.

As they began to discuss their plan, Axel looked on, his expression grim. He knew the fate that awaited them, but he also knew that the Rangers were capable of changing their destiny.

In the Underworld, Hel's eyes gleamed with malevolence as she considered Typhon's proposal. "A temporary alliance, you say?" she repeated, her voice dripping with intrigue.

Typhon nodded, his massive frame towering over the other generals. "Yes, my queen. Together, we can crush the Rangers and secure our victory. We can worry about our differences later."

Hel's gaze swept across her generals, her mind racing with the possibilities. She could see the potential benefits of such an alliance, at least in the short term.

"Very well," she declared, her voice firm and commanding. "I approve the plan. Let us join forces and annihilate the Rangers once and for all."

The generals bowed in obedience, their faces set with determination. Hel's throne room echoed with the sound of scraping metal and the rustling of dark, tattered cloaks as her minions set to work, preparing for the impending battle.

In the shadows, General Malicia whispered to General Garmr, "Do you think this alliance will truly hold?"

Garmr's response was a low, ominous chuckle. "It doesn't matter. We'll use this opportunity to destroy the Rangers, and then we'll deal with Typhon and his minions."

Malicia's smile was a cold, calculated thing. "I'm looking forward to it."
