The Deville You Know Ch28

Sonya was so excited she practically could have run upside down around the ceiling. So when her phone chimed she thought for a second about throwing it out the window. Deciding it wasn't the best idea, since she paid good money for it, she thought she'd see who dared interrupt, not interested in the fact they would have had no idea they had picked a terrible moment.

"Dammit Mandy." She mumbled to herself before opening the text. When she saw it her heart got stuck in her throat.

Sonya, check your socials. You two are public. Not joking. Sorry.

"Oh god." Sonya said as she opened the apps on her phone and saw that picture was all over Twitter, all over Instagram and beyond. Her notifications were through the roof. She quickly looked around, and saw Paige's phone on the table. She breathed a sigh of relief, but then heard her phone start ringing. She went to it and silenced it. She knew Renee was going to mean well, then Becky, then Alexa, all in quick succession, but she wanted Paige to find out from her. She knew that this was going to be the hardest thing they'd gone through since finally getting together and she took a breath, trying to think of what to say.

Paige stepped out and Sonya lost all breath in her body. She was dressed in a catwoman-like skintight outfit, a small mask over her eyes. All she was missing was the ears, but she made up for it with the ball gag in one hand and the handcuffs dangling from one finger on the other. Sonya had barely dared to dream about this, but it was real, it was right in front of her…..and she couldn't do anything about it. "Honey, you have never looked sexier. But we can't do this right now."

Paige sat down and started kissing Sonya's neck. "Yes we can babe, I know you wanted this. I've been a bad girl."

Sonya had to fight her desires, knowing it would be worse if Paige found out she knew and still slept with her first. "No, Paige stop, I'm serious." She pushed Paige back, and took the mask off at the same time.

"Did I do it wrong? Was this not what you pictured?" Paige sounded hurt and disappointed and that stung Sonya, but she couldn't let that affect things.

"It was everything I hoped for, and we will pick up where we left off, again and again. But right now we need to talk. Can you change back, try and look a bit less, you know, f-able?"

"Umm, ok. You're not breaking up with me right?"

Sonya smiled. "Of course not, that will never happen, but please change?" Sonya gave Paige a kiss to be reassuring and watched her girl strip down to her bra and panties before putting on her sweats, which was also painful, to see what else she had to give up.

"Ok, what's going on, you're scaring me babygirl." Paige said as she sat down.

Sonya reached out and took hold of her girls hands, holding them tight to try and be reassuring as she took a breath and tried to find the words.

"Honey, I'm so sorry, but there's a picture of us. Taken tonight. We're in the background, but we are clearly kissing. It's all over the internet." Sonya ran out of things to say as she saw the look of panic spread across Paige's face. She felt Paige start to shake and her head fell for a moment.

"I want to see it." She said, without much emotion. Sonya got her phone out and showed her the post on social media that was racking up the posts and likes.

"It's obvious we are kissing. There's no way we can say it's friendly. This isn't what I wanted." She said, still very cold in her tone. "Where's my phone?" She asked, spotting it over on the table.

"Paige, don't." Sonya asked. "Reading your social media is only going to upset you. She wasn't able to stop Paige picking up the device. She watched in silence as her girlfriend scrolled and scrolled for what felt like forever, her facial expressions going all over the place until Sonya saw Paige throw the phone over into the far corner of the room.

"Honey please." Sonya barely got out before Paige stormed into the bathroom, slamming the door behind her and the lock clicking into place. Sonya was half way across the room to knock and try and make contact when she heard the banshee like scream usually only heard in Paige's entrance come from the bathroom, followed quickly by something breaking. She decided to wait till she chose to leave the bathroom. She heard some more angry yelling as Paige clearly tried to let out her feelings.

Sonya was expecting to have to wait a long time, but it was barely ten minutes later when Paige came back to the hotel room.

"Paige? Honey are you…."

"Where's my phone?"

"Over there." Sonya pointed. Paige went to it, picked it up and started doing something. She then opened up her case, bringing out her make up, staring to fix her face, still not saying anything more.

Sonya was wary of interrupting her when she was like this, so she went to her own phone and went to see if she had posted anything. She had. It was a screenshot from her Notes app.

You f'n assholes. Speculating on my life and attacking me when you don't know anything. Last time you did this you nearly beat me. I'm not going to let you this time.

My personal life is none of your business, but this one time, I'm going to address the photo that is going viral. This will happen one time, live on my Instagram, in 20 minutes. I know it's late, but I don't care. I won't be taking questions, nor will I be addressing it directly ever again. Be there. Or don't.

"Paige, talk to me." Sonya asked. "What are you doing?"

"You just read it didn't you? It's fairly obvious what I'm doing, unless you've fallen to the level of these morons?"

"Hey! Don't be like that with me. I didn't do anything wrong." Sonya yelled back at a low volume, but it got through as Paige slowed down.

"Ok, sorry, but I'm so mad. How dare they out me like this."

"I know, it's not a good feeling, but I promise it will be ok." Sonya tried to be comforting.

"You're right. It will be ok. Because I'm going to make it so."

"What do you mean?" Sonya was apprehensive to say the least.

"I mean I'm sick of these keyboard warriors making me feel like I'm a second class person. I fought back from everything, and I got back to wrestling, got back to my old self, and I got you. I'm not letting them make me feel like this because I found my soul mate. I'm not pretending I'm anything but in love with you, not anymore. You don't have to be involved in this, but I'm going to look down that camera and tell them you're my girlfriend, the love of my life, and that anyone who can't accept it can go to hell. I'm not going to force you to be a part of it, or not be in it, that's up to you, but I need you to accept that I have to do this. One way or another, they are all going to know the truth about me."

Sonya was completely taken back by Paige's aggressive rant. She expected a very different reaction, but what she got filled her with happiness. She gave Paige a big hug, which was returned. "I understand. It's ok."

"Thank you Sonya. I love you."

"I love you." Sonya felt Paige calm down a little. "You should call Hunter, tell him you're doing this, and your mom."

"I texted them both. Mum is probably asleep but Hunter has given me the thumbs up and Steph has messaged me to say they support us no matter what, and they will put out something saying they back us tomorrow."

"You sure this is what you want to do?" Sonya asked one last time.

"I have to. This isn't how I planned it, but we both knew it was probably going to have to happen this way. I want this done now, so we can move on with our lives together. They aren't getting their way with this. Or ruining a night of sex for us again."

Sonya thought back to the catsuit, the lingerie and the toys she had missed out on. For a second she was also ready to cuss out whoever posted that picture.

Paige set up a light and her phone, using its camera to check she didn't look as red faced as she did in the bathroom. Sonya came and sat next to her, making sure she could be seen.

"What are you doing?" Paige asked.

"What do you think? You might have given me a choice, but I'm not letting you do this alone. This is us going public. I know I'm out already, but why would I not be there for you at such a major moment. I'll play the supportive girlfriend, the angry girlfriend, the loving girlfriend, whatever you want, but I've always got you." Sonya spoke like it was such a basic thing, but to Paige it meant the world. She sat down on the couch again, turned the phone a little so they were both centred, took a breath and went to push the button to go live. But she stopped for a second, less than an inch from the button.

"Sonya?" She said, her voice cracking all over the place.

"Yeah honey?"

"This…this is forever right? I can say that?"

"Paige." Sonya took Paige's hand and made her turn to face her. "Take a deep breath. Then tell them whatever you want to. If you're angry, tell them off. If you're hurting, tell them so. If you're happy, shout about it. If you want to put the phone down, cancel this and go to bed, then we will. Because none of that will change how much I love you, or how much I want to be with you for the rest of my life. You say forever? I say forever isn't long enough."

Paige kissed her girl long and deep for a second, then turned back to the phone and hit the button, sending her live on social media.

"Right. I'll be starting in about a minute or two, I don't want people to miss something and I have to repeat myself." She said, going silent after, watching the viewer number swell to many thousands of people, almost all the comments brining up the fact Sonya was there too, most putting two and two together.

"Ok, that's about enough. I'd say thank you for joining me, but you forced me to do this, and most of you are after gossip, which I'm sick of. The way so many of you treated me at my lowest nearly destroyed me so all of those people don't deserve to be part of this. But I do know there are also a lot of people who supported me. You are the reason I got back to doing what I love again, and it's been a hell of a year right? The Rumble, Wrestlemania. All no more than a dream at one point. The people who supported me, thank you, I've never said that before now, and I didn't want to forget that I needed to say that. Now then, there's a picture of us, Sonya and I, that's doing the rounds online that looks a little, compromising? Is that a good word for it? Now everyone is speculating about us being some kind of couple, and the rumour mill is going crazy. I'm not letting that happen again to me, so we are here to set the record straight. It's true, we are together, and we have been for around six months." Paige stopped talking for a second as the comments had gone insane and were scrolling through at a rate almost too fast to read. They both got in close and saw that almost all of the messages were congratulatory and positive.

"Wow. Thank you guys." She continued, looking to Sonya briefly and the two of them unable to help their smiles. "Yeah, so it happened right before Wrestlemania, but only because we danced around each other for a bit."

"Sorry, we?" Sonya coughed up.

"Ok, I danced around you. I admit I didn't see what was in front of me, then we both did silly things, and our friends had to put us right. I don't think she'll mind me telling this story, but Mandy Rose locked us in a room at an arena until we talked, but the outcome of that talk was our first date. Thanks Mandy!" She continued reading through the comments people were leaving.

"Ok a lot of people being happy for us, it's so great to see, ok, I'll look at some questions. I know I said I wouldn't, but as long as it stays positive here then fine. Uh, the first date was to a music show, a battle of the bands thing. We did see a great band called Hot Mess. Look them up, they're awesome. No, I'm not talking about our sex life, come on dude, do you really think that's happening, ever? No way, no how. And I see several people using labels. Gay, lesbian, bisexual to describe me. You can knock that crap off too. I don't care what this relationship makes me in your eyes. The only one I care about is that I'm 100% monogamous. And before anyone takes that wrong, we aren't married. I'm just saying she's the only one for me. One thing I can promise her, and the world, is I'll never stray. Any cheaters out there watching this? Punch yourself in the face, you deserve it. That wont be me. I'm a one woman…..woman. Does that make sense? Yes, right there! Hashtag Sonyasexual. You win the stream right there. That's what I am. Couldn't find a better word for it. I know it's not a word. Ok, that seems to me like a good place to stop. Sonya, babygirl, do you want to say something to the thousands still here with us?"

Sonya slid across and lent over so she was more in the camera. "Just, give her a break. Neither of us knew this was going to happen, and it's been a crazy year. Keep the hate to yourself, Ok guys?"

"Thanks babe." Paige realised what she said. "Yeah, I called her babe. I love her, deal with it. I know there are going to be stories now, and interview requests, and everything, but we aren't in a rush. All in good time, ok? Right, I think that's it. Byeee!" Paige said playfully as she hit the end button. She immediately fell back onto the couch, hands on her face. "Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. What did I just do?"

Sonya knew she didn't mean it negatively, and moved down the sofa next to her. "You did great." She said.

"But I just turned our lives upside down. I don't know what's going to happen now, and well, what if it was a bad idea? What if you get abuse for being with me?"

"I don't give a f…" Sonya stopped herself, taking a breath. "I don't care. They can say whatever they want about me for being with you, there isn't one thing that would make me change my mind."

"You do already know everything, and you didn't run. You fool." Paige said, half joking.

"I know I do, and that's the old you, not the Paige who stole my heart. Ok?"

"Yeah. Dare we see how bad the socials are exploding?" Paige asked. Sonya got out her phone and started scrolling. "Well we are trending on Twitter, that's not a surprise. Both our names at the top, but also trending is the word 'Sonyasexual' and also 'Saige'.

Paige laughed. "Saige. I forgot about that."

"Yep. All the people who used that are going mad about how they think they had us bang to rights from the night of the Hall of Fame."

"So, less than a week together then, and that's what they are saying?" Maybe we weren't as good at hiding as we thought." Sonya shrugged.

"No more hiding now." Paige wrapped her girl up in a hug.

"Nope. We're out for sure now. I wonder what's next?" Sonya said, sliding them so they were now lying on the couch with her head on Paige's shoulder. Neither of them said a word. They were both very content in that position, but neither of them were able to answer that question.

A.N.: Thanks for reading.

That probably went as well as could be hoped for, but as Sonya said, what's next for them? How will people take it, in their lives, or the public in general? Let me know what you think.

Happy New Year 2025 to you all.
