(Open Ocean nearing Hoenn | July 20th | 7:00 a.m.)
On the ocean, the Wind Wave finally made to Hoenn's waters, and the region was upon them at last. Crimson's excitement was only matched by Amelia's as they had woken up early having finished their breakfast.
"We're finally here, Amelia. The Hoenn region." Crimson said. "I didn't even open that package Delia gave me yet, but I can't complain. I got you a present too."
He revealed the package to Amelia.
"I wanted to get you a brand-new outfit to start off our journey in Hoenn. I didn't you needed to be in a maid outfit given how the region's weather is." Crimson remarked. "Go ahead and try it on."
She opened the package and smiled at the sight of the outfit. Amelia remarked she had to try in on and was already taking off her maid outfit…right out in the open. Crimson realized his mistake in not telling her go to inside the ship and change. His mouth dropped as the maid outfit came down with the bonnet.
For several reasons, Crimson really hadn't thought of Amelia Bedelia in an attractive sense. She was cute...a total sweetheart that he appreciated. But now...he'd get a reminder of her good look. Her pale skin, her firm stomach, the black lacey underwear that seemed out of character for her to wear, and the freckles were an eyeful for him as he was reddening in the face. He regained his composure as she got the outfit on. She now wore a sleeveless black one-piece short dress, white ankle boots with cyan accents, a cyan belt for her Pokéballs, black fingerless gloves with cyan bands, and dark grey short-sleeved jacket with a black trim.
"You look great." Crimson said. "I'll go get Delia's package."
He went into the cabin to get it, opening it to see the outfit she had bought for him. A loose-fitting black t-shirt paired with a dark orange and black jacket with a large red collar, which in turn has a single green line across the center and a similarly colored trim at the bottom of said jacket. For pants, there was a pair of grey capri shorts with a thin black line coming down both sides. She even got him new shoes in the form of orange hi-top Devon Corp running shoes with black laces. She even got him new fingerless gloves that were black with a red cuff and a metal plate on the back of the hand. There was even a new green backpack looking like Brendan's.
"Delia, thank you." Crimson said before looking at the manual for the sneakers. "Holy shit, these are just like the ones from the manga."
He changed into the outfit before putting on a pair of green Mirrored Sunglasses and his Mega Ring. He looked at himself at the mirror as he readied himself getting in the hidden holsters for two of his knives and his pistol. His final knife was hidden in his bag before he came out.
"Master Crimson, you look dapper." Amelia said. "Do you have any extra sunglasses?"
"Yeah, I got something. I got aviators...I got the Alolan Snow set. I got blue, brown, grey, purple, and pink." Crimson said as she asked for the blue one. "Here."
"It'll go with my new bag." Amelia said putting them on as she had her blue Ruffled Shoulder Bag on.
"Can't go without a hat." Crimson remarked getting a Camo Beanie on.
"Quite." Amelia said putting on a white Beach Hat.
"The ride Neo arranged is here. I'll be seeing you all at either Slateport or Lilycove." Kayden said.
What awaited them was a Flying Taxi, the carriage being pulled by a Tropius and its pilot was a man looking like a young Tommy Vercetti to Crimson, especially with the outfit.
"What's good, brother? Name's Pablo Vercotti. Neo sent me."
"Perfect. Amelia and I are ready to go." Crimson said as he helped Amelia onto the carriage before getting in. "To Littleroot Town, please."
"Right on. We'll be there in about an hour's time." Pablo said as Tropius before flying forward getting further up in the air. "I actually have to thank you Crimson. Wasn't for you taking down Team Rocket, I'd still be in debt to them. Thanks to your little war, I was able to both screw them over and get enough to leave my old life of crime to start my own business."
"You're very much welcome." Crimson said humbly.
"I didn't plan to operate in Hoenn...I had plans to start up in Orre...but Neo called and offered me cash to do this instead." Pablo remarked.
"Orre? Doesn't that region have a bit of a bad reputation?" Amelia asked.
"It does have a bad rep, it's a wasteland." Crimson said flatly.

(Littletown Town | July 20th | 7:40 a.m.)

Littleroot Town, a humble small-town famous for its surrounding greenery and basking amid nature. Of course, it was named for being the hometown of Professor Birch. May arrived at her new home by the moving van. Initially, it was supposed to be the family house...but Norman's luck at a card game on the St. Anne netted him a lot of money, more than enough to get a better house in Petalburg. Not wanting to just sell the house Birch helped him get, he gifted to May...after May convinced him to do it. He figured it'd be good to teach her responsible, and the town was in a place he could easily get to if need be. The moving van came a stop as the back door was lifted up.
May was already ready for the day wearing a red t-shirt with a dark blue circle around her neck, dark blue bike shorts, white skirt, a pair of black socks, red and yellow sneakers, a red bandanna with a white Poké Ball print, a yellow waist-pack, and dark-blue and white gloves. She jumped out of the moving van into the fresh air of Littleroot Town. Caroline was waiting for him as a Machoke and a Vigoroth were moving boxes into the house.
"May, we're here at last. This is Littleroot Town. What do you think? Having your own house is a big responsibility, but I feel you really lucked out. This place...this town really has a quaint feel, but it looks like it should be a nice place to live, don't you think? And you get your own room this time, May." Caroline said as May snickered.
"My own room, my own house. Max was fuming." May said jovially before they went inside.
"Your father brought you a new clock for your room. It's upstairs. Make sure you set it." Caroline said as May ran upstairs.
The master bedroom was all hers. The walls had a Town Map and few posters of various Nintendo games. There was also a lone Crash Bandicoot poster next to one of Crimson. May smirked seeing she got her television with had her orange Gamecube connected to it along with a Game Boy Advance. That meant Max was probably pouting he only his GBA. Her work desk was set up with her PC put together with a green office chair next to it. She was grateful the movers got her rug placed down, but she was far giddy about the big king-sized bed. It was brand new and all hers...
"Better set that clock." May said going over to the pink clock which had a Skitty design on the inside. "Should be about ten before eight now."
With it set, she went downstairs to the living room to find Caroline already watching television. The movers were already out of the door as the moving truck was finally making it's leave.
"How do you like your new room? They finished moving everything in downstairs, too. Pokémon movers are so convenient! Oh, you should make sure that everything's all there on your desk..." Caroline remarked only for May to tell her that she checked. "Well, you missed your dad being on TV. But you should go next door and introduce yourselves to the Birch family. And be sure to thank Professor Birch for the house."
May nodded before leaving.
"And if I play my cards right, I'll have a new Pokémon." May said before walking off.
Finding the Birch house was not too hard given it was one of the nicer looking homes fitting for a respected professor. She noticed the SUV next to it, a custom Escalade. May knocked the door and a woman about her mom's age answered...dressed in aerobics wear from two decades ago and with permed, dyed, blonde hair. It did surprise her that she was clearly American.
"Am I interrupting?" May asked. "I'm May Maple...and..."
"Oh no, not that all. I was just doing exercise. You must be Norman's little girl. Aren't you a darling? I'm Polly. My husband's out before fieldwork but you can meet our son Brendan. He's just a bit older than you...he's upstairs." Polly said as she let her in.
Polly went back to the living room before getting back to her aerobics.
"Have to admit, she's got moves." May thought to herself before going upstairs.

She'd walk through an opened bedroom door to find the guy in question. A rather pale, thin boy with dark brown hair that had sideburns and piercing grey-blue eyes who was a touch taller than her. He wore black and orange collared short sleeved shirt under an opened red and black track jacket, orange fingerless gloves, black and dark grey slim fit knee length shorts, a Mega Bracelet on his left wrist, and a pair of orange and green slip-on running shoes with black soles and white stripes.
"Pokémon fully restored...and the backpack's ready..." He said getting on his green backpack. "Now where's my-here it is."
He got on a green headband with a white beanie on his head. He turned to notice May leaning on the doorway.
"Who-Oh, you must be May. The new kid who just moved in next door. I didn't know that you'd be a girl. Dad—I mean, Professor Birch—told me you were the kid of a Gym Leader, and I sort of hoped you'd be a guy. My name's Brendan. Well, I guess we are still neighbors, so… Nice to meet you!" Brendan said jovially.
"Nice to meet you, Brendan. I-"
"Shoot. I'm already late. Sorry, May, another time?" Brendan said before going back to his PC before leaving the room.

May simply took her leave seeing that Brendan was long gone. She considered going to look for the professor at the lab over for someone to flag her down. A little kid near the way out to Twig Walk who looked rather frightened.
"There's some commotion going on out there...I'd go out there. But I don't have any Pokémon."
May did not either, but it did not stop from doing to investigate.

There she spotted Professor Birch being chased by a Zigzagoon and a Poochyena, clearly angry from the looks of them.
"Professor Birch!" May yelled.
"Help! There's Poké Balls in my bag nearby...use one and help me!" Birch said while panting as May looked down at the fallen messenger bag.
May made her choice taking the ball with Torchic in it before sending it out.
"Okay, Torchic. Attack!" May said as the Poochyena howled which brought out another of its kin.

"One on three...not exactly good odds." May said sheepishly as Torchic looked equally nervous. "But we can do it."
"And you will, but not alone!"
Surprising everyone, Crimson landed on the ground dramatically with Amelia floating down due to her parasol.
"Hey May, I know it's been weeks, but it feels like years since I've seen you. Professor Birch, a pleasure to finally meet you." Crimson remarked.
"Who the hell is this guy?" Zigzagoon said.
"I'm the one who's going to kick your ass." Crimson said before drawing sending out a Torchic of his own. "Let's go, Hanzo!
"Muireann, to battle!" Amelia said sending out her Popplio.
Hanzo and Muireann stood alongside Torchic as the Zigzagoon and Poochyenas took their attention away from Birch.

"Hanzo. Flamethrower!" Crimson said as Hanzo spewed a thick stream of flames that burned Zigzagoon.
"Torchic, use Scratch!" May said as Torchic scratched up Poochyena's face.
"Water Gun!" Amelia said as Muireann sprayed the other Poochyena with water.
"It burns! For the love of all things, it burns!" Zigzagoon screamed as Amelia had Murieen spray it with Water Gun. "It hurts...but it doesn't burn anymore..."
Down he went as Torchic frantically dodged Poochyena's tackle to mar its face with Ember. Crimson would take down the other Poochyena as May would finish off the one that she was fighting.

"And just like that, it's all over." Crimson said confidently. "You were pretty good, May. Keep a cool head. I know you could handle yourself."
"Thanks. But we should get out of here before anymore show up. Thank you. And thank you, Torchic." May said before returning the Torchic.
[Cues: Pokémon RSE OST – Birch Pokémon Lab]
Pokémon were returned as the four returned to Birch's Pokémon Lab back in Littleroot. Birch sank into his chair out of breath before looking at the three.
"Not going to lie...you really came in the nick of time. All of you." Professor Birch said before focusing on May. "So, May. I've heard so much about you from your father. For someone new to battle, you fought with aplomb! I guess you have your father's blood in your veins after all! Oh, yes. As thanks for rescuing me, I'd like you to have the Pokémon you used earlier. It rightfully belongs to you now."
He turned to Crimson and Amelia.
"I do owe you both a thank you as well. I've heard plenty about you, Mr. Ryuseigan...and..."
"Amelia Bedelia. I'm Crimson's humble maid." Amelia said with a courtesy.
"A pleasure. I am Professor Odama Birch. And as thanks to your efforts, I want you both to take the other two starters." Professor Birch said to Crimson's surprise. "What? Didn't expect that."
"Actually no, I knew I couldn't really get a start-forget it. I'm not passing up a free gift like this. I'm taking the Mudkip." Crimson said taking up the ball.
"I'm so glad to have another friend to add to my team already." Amelia said taking up Treecko. "It's so cute."
Crimson got his Pokédex out.
"Ok...and wow, all three of them are female." Crimson said.
"You got a problem with it?" Mudkip asked.
"Not really. It's just odd considering the gender likelihood of the three of your species." Crimson said as Mudkip looked aghast. "Yes, I can understand Pokémon speech."
"That must be incredible to experience." Professor Birch said.
"It is, but you kinda realize that Pokémon tend to talk a lot of shit about people because they know they can get away with it." Crimson said as the professor looked surprised at that.
His aides were chuckling, however.
"I believe it's time, I spoke up." Dex Bulma said. "Professor Birch, I'm currently about to attempt to connect with your system. With your permission, I'd like authorization to download the Hoenn Dex to my system."
"Authorization?" Crimson said.
"Crimson, bring me over to that console." Dex Bulma said as he did so.
Sprouting out the spider legs, the device crawled onto it and connected itself to the amazement of the others.
"Professor Birch, I require you to simply give the verbal command for authorization." Dex Bulma said simply.
"You have my permission to authorize access to the Hoenn Dex." Professor Birch said as the console lit up.
"Verbal pattern recognized. The Hoenn Dex has added to my systems." Dex Bulma said before disconnecting from the system. "Thank you for your cooperation."
Crimson put it back on his person.
"That's some technology. Oak has talked about your efforts quite a lot." Professor Birch said. "But I didn't think I'd witness it. But I do have to ask...why use Bulma's voice?"
"Why not?" Crimson joked. "But I do wonder why she did all that?"
"Region locks. Each region-specific Dex data is region locked and I can not access them without the authorization of that region's professor. Technically, while this model's default was the Kanto Dex, my programming has the default as the National Dex." Dex Bulma explained before going on standby mode.
"Speaking of the PokéDexes, I want you to have this May." Professor Birch said giving her a Pokédex. "And I have one for you as well Amelia."
Crimson internally noted that the model May got was the original RSE design while Amelia's was based on the ORAS design. It did get a chuckle to hear the ORAS model was considered an older model.
"This is a huge honor." May said.
"I couldn't..." Amelia said a bit sheepish.
"I had them ordered for my research. My kid, Brendan, goes everywhere with this. Besides I did want to poach you to have a Dex especially seeing your talent, May. And Amelia, I will admit I'm giving you yours because I've seen your performance in the Indigo League. You are more than deserving of it." Professor Birch said. "Now you should you consider nicknames to your new partners."
"Hmm..." May said taking up her Torchic. "Kaori."
Crimson had an idea when he heard that.
"If I may suggest an idea, Amelia. I suggest the name Suzuki for Treecko. It'll pair well with Kaori and Akiko." Crimson said before looking at his Mudkip. "Yes, Akiko...that'll be the name."
"Sounds perfect to me." Amelia said eagerly.
"Either way, you should go on ahead to Hedge Row, May. My boy is out there right now, surveying Pokémon for me. It might not be a bad idea for you to head out that way yourself. And then come back to see me." Professor Birch said. "But you should rest up first."
"Hedge Row?" Amelia asked.
"I forgot...you three are new to Hoenn. That's Route 103." Professor Birch clarified.
May nodded as the trio left the lab but not before returning their Pokémon.

"Look at that, I kept to what I said when we first met." Crimson said with a grin. "And here we are."
"Yeah...I guess we're a traveling party now." May said with a cheeky grin. "Got a pair of translators for me, then?"
Crimson simply put a pair in for her, without question.

(A/N: And the first part of the pilot is done. Initially, I had no intention of Amelia and Crimson getting Hoenn starters, but I realized with the setup...I could justify it. I also did not plan for Amelia to get a PokéDex, but I realized Birch would want her as one of his 'chosen' given I did establish that getting a Dex is a big deal. As for the Hoenn starters and their names. Yes, it was all in reference to May's Japanese VA Koari (who has gone by Akiko Kawana and was credited as Kaori Suzuki at one point). It's a shame her illness basically meant May could never show up again in the anime alongside taking away her means for singing. As for Hanzo and Muirenn's names, Hanzo's a cheeky MK reference and Muireann means 'sea white'. As for Dex Bulma and that authorization part, basically given Crimson's dex is a modded device and originally Kanto based, I figured Dex Bulma would need the authorization of a region's professor to access their region exclusive Dex in their region. She could workaround this with looking to other region's data from Kanto given she was using the National Dex, but she couldn't be able to do the same in another region without at least having access to the local Dex. And to note for those who didn't read The Outsider's Insurrection: Indigo Iliad, go read that...before continuing. This is a sequel story after all.)
