Neb: After ditching his costume to escape the police, Alec made his way back to Rook. The two of them got in a heated argument, until Rook agreed to give Alec a new costume for the time being. Now they will make their next move against the White Skull Syndicate, after having interrogated Jason Scotch, the murderer of Alec's sister. Rook believes that Alec was too soft, and should have killed Jason, but enough about that. I do not own Red X, or any parts of DC comics. This is my OC filling in his costume. I've gotten a lot of faves and follows on this fanfic compared to others, so I think it's only right that I keep going until it reaches it's natural conclusion. I hope you all enjoy the story.
Red X was making his way towards a gas station where he knew another Red Burst deal was going on. He was given some pointers from the detective that if Red Burst was being sold, his attacker would be there.
"I'm telling you this is good stuff," a man with short blonde hair and green eyes spoke up to a couple of sixteen year old boys. "Better than those skunk joints you've been smoking all night."
"I-I don't know what your talking about," one of the boys stuttered.
"You don't think I know the smell of grass man, I use to push that stuff before it was mostly legalized. Honestly, Red Burst gives you a greater high that that. It both stimulates your mind, relaxes your muscles, and gives some great laughs."
"Weed does that to," the other sixteen year old boy responded.
"Not like this," the drug dealer shook his head. "How about this, I'll let you take the first two tabs for free and if you like it, come back and we'll talk."
"What if we don't have any money, the next time," the first sixteen year old boy questioned.
"Money is super easy to get," the blonde man chuckled. "I'm not worried about that."
"You should be worried about me," Red X spoke up as he jumped from the gas station's roof between the dealer and the boys.
"It's him," one of the boys yelled as he fell back in fear.
"Scram brats," Red X ordered and the two boys bolted.
"Son of a," the dealer growled. "You ruined my chance of getting two new clients freak!"
"My heart aches," Red X mocked as he kicked the man back into the store wall.
"Lenny, grab the shotgun," the blonde man yelled. He looked through the glass window of the gas station door to see the man at the counter was already knocked out with a red x mark wrapped around his wrists. "Ah, any chance we can talk about this?"
"Your bosses location now," Red X growled.
"Obviously I don't know that," the blonde man responded. "Haven't you been shaking us down for the past month, you know our bosses don't show unless if an executive calls them."
"Do I? What else, do you think I know?"
"Look man, I wasn't trying to offend you honest. I get it, your crazy. I'll turn myself in to avoid the beating." Sirens could be heard in the distance.
"Sounds like that opportunity is on it's way," Red X decided. "Give me your executive's contact information."
"You got it man, just don't hurt me."
Red X disappeared in a cloud of smoke before the police arrived.
A lady with long red hair, freckles, and glasses sat on top of a roof next to two muscular men with buzz cuts. "I wonder what's taking Max and Lenny so long to show up," She sighed.
"Sorry for the wait," Red X growled as he appeared from the shadows.
The two buzz cut men ran at him, but they were on the floor faster then they could throw a punch. Red X trapped them with his adhesive x marks and covered their mouths with clamps.
"Dear god," the red headed lady yelled as she pointed her gun at him, but her gun was out of her hand just as fast. She saw a big red x sticking out of the wall that was thrown like a shuriken. "Don't hurt me, I'm just a coordinator."
"Just a coordinator," Red X mocked. "You had this whole block under your thumb since the Angles dipped."
"They didn't dip, your psychopath friend killed them all!"
"Oh, and who's this friend of mine?"
"W-what? The Beheading man, red cloak, white mask. Chains, sword?"
Red X grabbed her and held her over the side of the roof.
"My bad, I'm sorry. I thought you were friends. Please don't kill me."
"Have I even killed anyone thus far?"
"I guess not," she admitted. "That's right, you haven't. Your not such a bad guy after all. I might even say handsome." She unzipped the front of her leather jacket and smiled at him. "What do you say, you forget me and the boys were here, and I can provide you with special services."
Red X tossed her back onto the roof and then sighed.
"No need to be rude about it," she yelled.
"Call your bosses," Red X demanded. "Tell them to meet you here. Then I might think of letting you and the doofus duo leave."
"Sorry, but my bosses do kill, unlike you. I'll take my chances getting my butt kicked, but I draw the line at rooftop execution."
"Hilarious," Red X commented before firing his red x clamp on her mouth. He reached in her pocket and grabbed her phone.
She struggled against the mark as she fell back with tears in her eyes.
"Breath through your nose and sit there. Actually." Red X used his taser glove to knock her out and then started scrolling through her phone. Then on a separate comms, he gave hiss location. "Once her bosses find out she's been arrested, they'll try and silence her. Just like their former executives."
"Good work Grayson, I mean Red X," Detective Reece spoke up in his comms. "I think you should head back to the station for now. We can go over your findings there."
"You got it detective."
"Was that Reece on the other end?", a man with a voice changer spoke up behind Red X.
Red X turned around to see a man wearing all black, with a white mask, and a black hood carrying two swords standing behind him. "What's the League doing here?"
"So you're familiar with the League also," the man responded. "I don't think we got properly acquainted. So I don't see how that's possible."
"One of your dealers blabbed."
"Don't lie," the cloaked man growled. "The dealers know nothing of the league. Who are you, why are you wearing that mask?"
Red X jumped back at he pulled out an extendable staff.
"Nice upgrade," the cloak man admitted as he pulled out his sword. "Come to think of it, that's a whole different belt on that costume."
"You've already ran into the other Red X then," Red X figured. "Is he still alive?"
"Take off that outfit and leave," the black cloaked man warned.
"Make me," Red X shot back before taking out a smoke pellet and throwing it on the ground.
The cloaked man swung his sword, but missed. He dodged the taser glove next, but was knocked back by the quarter staff. "He's not an ordinary fighter," the cloaked man though before sheathing the sword. He then swung a kick and several punches.
"An assassin who prefers hand to hand combat?", Red X thought. "Unlikely, but why is he dressed like the League?" Red X tried to catch the man's hand to electrocute him, but noticed then man's fists were wrapped in a traditional boxer wrap, but made of rubber. "You already know about this suit. Does that mean?"
"It's mine," the cloak man confirmed before kicking Red X back. He then swung another punch sending Red X flying back.
Red X moved in and swung several kicks back at him, but was dodged. "He's really good at hand to hand combat, I'll have to sedate him." Red X threw a couple darts at the black cloak man causing him to fall back. "Got ya big guy."
The black cloak man grunted as his vision became blurry. "Fair enough," the man grunted as he held out some smoke pellets he stole from Red X's belt. He threw the pellets on the ground and then vanished.
"So that's what it's like on the other end," Red X commented as he looked around. He heard the police sirens in the distance and then sighed.
Alec awoke in his bedroom apartment still wearing his cloak. He pulled the hood down and took the swords off of his belt, that felt like they had been jamming their hilts against his side all night. "Some idiot is running around in my costume... a well trained idiot." Alec grunted as he grabbed his head. "I gotta tell Rook I guess."
