The Unknown Trainer
Chapter One
The End of One Path Leads to Another
It was something he thought could never happen, a moment where all of his dreams shattered. All because of a couple of words "You'll never be a scientist". Connor was flabbergasted when his professor told him this after class "what do you mean?" His professor, an older gentleman, sighed before giving his explanation. "Connor, you're a good kid, and you have more passion than anyone else in this academy. But sometimes too much passion can hurt you, you don't listen and follow my instructions. You were supposed to write a paper on the mechanics of a pokeball. You decided to create a new pokeball." The professor hands Connor back a blueprint with his newest idea. Connor tries to explain to the professor his idea. "Don't you see professor, the gimmick around this pokeball is that". The professor is enraged and doesn't want to hear Connor's explanation. "That's enough Connor! My decision is final, I'm sorry but you are no longer a student at our academy." Connor wanted to continue to defend his case, but knew it would fall on deaf ears. So he took his blueprint and walked out of the classroom. Connor made his way out of the building and began to walk home. Before leaving, he took a look at the academy. In his mind he told himself 'they're going to regret the day they threw me out of this academy.'
After almost half an hour of walking, Connor had made it back to his house. A place that gave him bad memories but he had nowhere else to go since he was expelled from school. As he was about to walk in, he noticed one of his neighbors was outside, in fact it was one of his childhood friends, Serena. They had lived next to each other for almost their entire lives, and when you live in a small town, you have to take what they give you when it comes to friends. They had a good relationship for a long time, until everything unraveled a couple of years ago. One day, while on a business trip, both of Connor's parents were killed by a mugger, who was never found. Connor was scarred by this moment, he spent almost a month never leaving the house. When a concerned Serena came to cheer him up, the two got into a screaming match. It wasn't much later when Serena decided to explore the region, really leaving Connor alone. That had been almost 3 years ago, and the two hadn't seen each other since, so this was a chance to make amends. Serena was the first to make a move jumping over the fence to give Connor a hug "It's so good to see you again Connor!" Connor opens his arms and embraces the hug, "Same here Serena, it's been awhile hasn't it?" It really had been some time, during this hiatus, Connor could tell that Serena had changed. Before they made contact, Serena's smell had some sort of charm to it, Connor couldn't really describe it, something he never really noticed before. The other change was felt during the hug, Serena's breasts were quite large, and they were touching Connor's chest. Once they let go, he was quite flustered and trying to escape the situation. "I know we just saw each other, but I've had a long day. Could we possibly catch up tomorrow or something like that?" Serena, disappointed but understandable, smiled and responded "Okay, I'll see you around Connor." That's when the two would go into their houses, neither knew that both their lives would change in the next 72 hours.
As Connor walked into his house, all of his pent up emotions were let loose. He began to cry, all of his hard work, hopes and dreams were crushed. This sadness then turned into anger, that professor didn't know what he was talking about, did he even look at his design. That's when he remembered he gave back the blueprint, Connor took it out of his bag and looked it over again. Connor was confident that he was smart enough to create his own pokeball where he could sell it and make some money. And that is what he was going to do. Connor went down to his basement, one of the last things his parents did for him before the incident was they redid the basement and turned it into his own laboratory. He had all sorts of tools and equipment down there to use, enough to create a prototype. He knew it wasn't going to be easy, but that was just the story of his life, and he wasn't going to take no for an answer.
Maybe he should have listened, it had been almost 3 days since he began with this project. Connor had been working around the clock, and he had finally finished making the prototype for his new pokeball. His idea was to use it as a sort of surprise capture, trainers would use it when sneaking up on a Pokemon. If done successfully, they would have a high chance of capturing it without fighting. It was now time to test it out, Connor made his way to his backyard, behind it was a trail of woods, he knew a lot of wild Pokemon lived back here. After 20 minutes of searching and scouting, he found a sleeping hoothoot. Connor took a deep breath, raised his arm and threw the ball. It was on a direct path for his target, and made an impact shortly thereafter. Connor was ready to see the hoothoot flash, but it never did. Instead the hoothoot was awoken by the ball hitting him and quickly flew away to escape. Connor's shoulder slumped, his prototype, his last chance to become a scientist, had failed horribly. He walked over to the ball, picked it up and put it in his pocket, walking slowly back into his house to admit defeat. Serena was in her room relaxing when she saw Connor walking out of the woods. Since seeing each other a few days prior, she wanted to talk to him and apologize about their past. But she had yet to see Connor leave his house, until right now. Serena had to take the opportunity, she grabbed her shoes and made her way to catch up with him.
Connor was now in the living room, his prototype pokeball sitting on the table in front of him. This wasn't the outcome he was hoping to see, but it was stupid for him to think he would create a perfect pokeball on his first attempt. Maybe he should have listened to his professors, it could have helped him with having it work. He knew that it would take a lot more time and money to create a successful pokeball. So Connor planned to put it in a drawer and maybe never look at it again. That was until he heard a knock on the door, curious to whom it might be, he went and answered it. "Serena?! What are you doing here?" The blonde trainer smiled and waved "Hey there Connor, it's been a couple of days since I've seen you, just wanted to make sure everything was okay." This felt like Deja vu for Connor, this same situation happened almost three years ago. The old Connor would have yelled at Serena to leave him alone, but he had somewhat matured and needed someone to talk to. "Yeah, sorry about that, I was really busy trying to finish this project. But it failed again and I'm probably going to have to give up my dream of being a scientist." Serena's eyes widened, Connor had talked about being a scientist since he was little, she knew that this must be hurting him to say that "Oh my god, I'm sorry to hear that. Do you want to talk about it?" Connor smiled while moving out of the way "That would be lovely." As Serena walks in, she notices the pokeball on the table, she's never seen one that looks like that, so she walks over and inspects it. "Is this what you were working on Connor?" Connor sees she picked up his failed attempt and sighs "Yep, unfortunately I messed something up and it's a dud, so it doesn't work." While Serena is sad to hear that, she now grows curious "You know I've never seen the inside of a pokeball before, I wonder if there's anything inside?" Serena presses the button in the center to open it up, and while it does open, a flash escapes the ball, making this the last thing Serena will ever see.
Hello and welcome to my newest and first fully original project. If you know me from my other works, you know what is going to happen eventually. While yes, there is smut in this story, it is not the entire premise. Hopefully I have the determination to finish this one. So with that, give it a favorite and a review and be ready for the next chapter.
