"Alrighty! Who wants to go first?" The blonde girl asked the group.

Fiyero said, "I think Boq should go first since this is his idea."

Boq looked at his friend. "Really?"

"It's fair enough," Galinda replies.

"Agreed." Nodded Elphaba.

Nessa looked a little uncomfortable but nodded too.

"Alright then I'll go."

The Munchkin stands up from his chair putting down his cider, went over to the tree and searched for his gift until his eyes landed on a huge red wrapped present with his name on it.

"Oh, the big one's mine."

He picks it up and it feels a bit heavy.

"I wonder what this is," he says with curiosity before taking it back to his seat and takes the wrapping paper off.

Under the red paper reveals a big teddy bear with a red bow around its neck.

Elphaba's eyebrows furrowed at the sight as she takes a sip from her mug. Fiyero look surprised while Nessa looks nervous. But of course, Galinda looks excited for him.

"Woah," the munchkin says in surprise.

"Awww Boq that's so cute!" Galinda gushes.

Boq gives the bear a squeeze and he smiled softly at the softness.

"I love it! It's so soft and warm," he says before telling the group. "Now I have to guess who is my Secret Lurline… Galinda, I know this is you."

The blonde shook her head.

"Sadly, it's not me dearest," she said with a small smile.

Her boyfriend's eyebrows raised.

"Oh."

His eyes scanned the others.

"Fiyero?"

"Nope," Fiyero said shrugging.

"Elphaba?"

"No way."

There's only one left.

Boq asks Nessarose, "Nessa, is this you?"

"Yes Boq, it's me," she said blushing in embarrassment.

"Thanks Nessa!" He gets up, goes over to her and gave her a hug which she accepts.

"I couldn't find anything for you and I was worried about how you would react," she confessed.

"It's alright Nessa. I love it," he says still hugging it. "I have a stuffed animal collection back home in Munchkinland. This guy definitely will make a great addition."

Everyone else's facial expressions mixed with confusion and surprise except for Galinda who takes the bear and hugs it.

"You have a stuffed animal collection?" Fiyero asks.

"How OLD are you?" Elphaba exclaimed the question.

"Forget that question, how many do you have exactly?" Asked Nessa brushing her sister off.

Boq replies, "74."

"Woah!"

"What?!"

"Why so many?"

Elphaba, Fiyero and Nessa all question.

Boq explains, "I always think of my stuffed animals as emotional support companions. Whenever I had bad days or when things make me feel down, I always turn to my stuffed animals and smile. They always make me feel better even though I have friends, but that's nothing compared to it. When I came to Shiz though, I can't take all of them with me, also I don't want my roommate making fun of me for still having stuffed animals so I never brought any of them."

He continued while the group gave empathizing looks. "Only Galinda knows about this but I didn't want to tell anyone else."

"Oh," Nessa says feeling guilty. "I'm sorry Boq. We won't tell anyone else. I promise."

"Me too," Fiyero agrees.

Elphaba nods showing Boq that she wouldn't do that.

The munchkin smiles.

"Thanks guys. And thank you for the bear Nessa."

The wheelchair girl replies, "You're welcome."

"And Boq," Elphaba spoke up gently. "We're here for you. Don't be afraid to come to us whenever you're feeling down."

He nodded and Galinda wraps her arms around his and leans against him laying her head on his shoulder.
"Honestly, you're like a brother to us," the green girl added.

"Really?"

"Like I said before, we're not just friends. We're a family."

This warmed Boq's heart and looks like he was close to tears but held them back.

"I don't know what to say," he said and Galinda kisses his temple. He takes the bear back from her and squeezed it.

"Who's going to go next," the blonde asks the group after a brief silence.

His boyfriend answers, "Whoever gave my gift goes next. Since Nessa gave it to me, it's her turn."

"Oh, ok," Nessa says blushing before asking her sister, "Fabala, can you get mine please?"

Elphaba got up and took a small sparkly red box with a golden bow and Nessa's name on it before giving it to her.

"Oooooh! I love the wrapping," she says in awe.

She gently unwraps it revealing a little box and when she opened it she gasped.

"Sweet Oz!" Her fingers picked up what looks like a gold chain with a ruby red crystal heart pendant with shiny little crystals lined up around the heart.

"Oooooh!" Galidna squeals. "That looks beautiful!"

"Wow," Boq said still hugging his bear.

"Can someone put it on me?" Nessa asks the group.

"I'll do it," Galinda volunteers taking the necklace before going behind Nessa and puts it around her.

"It looks really good on you Nessa," Elphaba compliments.

Nessa couldn't stop staring at the heart pendant.

"It does! And red is my favorite color. Fabala is this you?"

The green girl shook her head with a sad smile. "Unfortunately no."

"Then who-"

Nessa suddenly put a two and two together to finally know who it is.

"Fiyero?"

The prince smiled wide. "Merry Lurlinemas Nessa."

"Oh my Oz Fiyero!" Nessa gasps remembering the other day when picking out a tree. "When you asked me all these questions, I never thought you were asking about what I like!"

"Yeah and that wasn't planned. It was literally a last minute thing," he admits getting up to give her a hug.

Nessa hugs her back and Galinda comments, "That was pretty sneaky of you Fiyero!"

"Why thank you," he replies to his ex girlfriend.

Nessarose looks at her heart and tells Fiyero, "Thank you so much! I love it! I promise to wear this to every special occasion."

"You're very welcome."

Elphaba smiles at her sister's happiness. Then she turned to Fiyero and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"Thanks Yero," she whispers, "You made my sister happy."

He chuckled a little, "It's really no problem at all."

"Let me guess," she asks him privately while the others admire Nessa's necklace. "Were you upset when you didn't get my name?"

He nodded truthfully. "Yeah…"

"Well you did get me something even better," the green girl says happily wrapping her arms around him snuggling into him. "As long as Nessa is happy. I'm happy too."

"Awww, Fae." Fiyero wraps his arms around her for a hug and planted a kiss on her head.

They heard Boq clear his throat and their heads turned to him, Galinda and Nessa who are getting their attention.

"I hate to break your cuddle time, but I think it's Fiyero's turn," Boq said.

"Oh right!"

The prince got up, heads over to the tree where now three presents lay.

"Elphaba, you're being a little bit mushy tonight," Nessa teases but with concern. "Are you ok?"

"I'm not mushy Nessa. It's just a little cold in here that's all," her sister lies crossing her arms.

"Mmmm sure." The wheelchair girl raises an eyebrow in faux suspicion not buying it.

Fiyero's eyes searched for his name on the tag until he found it on a really long, blue present box with gold stars and a velvet red ribbon bow on it.

This made him really curious when he picked it up. It also felt heavy.

"Woah," he exclaims carrying it over to his spot next to his girlfriend. "This thing is huge!"

He unties the bow and lifts the lid open. When he did, his eyes widened in surprise.

"Holy shiz! No way!"

He immediately pulls a guitar out of the box.

"I always wanted one!" He shouts excitedly like a child on Lurlinemas morning and hugs it being careful with the strings.

He looks in the box and sees a tutorial book and picks it up.

"Yes! I'll be able to finally learn how to play this!"

Everyone else, even Elphaba are very amused by Fiyero's reaction to his gift.

"That's so cool Fiyero," Boq comments in amazement.

"I love the detail," Elphaba says paying attention to the blue diamonds painted on the front part.

"I was just going to say the same thing," Nessa agrees with her sister.

Fiyero suddenly got confused and looked over at her.

"Nessa? I just told this to you yesterday. But you already gave your gift to Boq."

The wheelchair girl says sadly, "It's not me Fiyero. But I would've, really."

"Oh. Then who gave this to me?"

He frowned a little thinking before turning to his girlfriend, "Fae?"

"Sorry Fiyero, it's not me," she said shaking her head.

Now he was even more confusified. He thought that he only told Elphaba and Nessa about wanting a guitar.

He turned over to Boq. "Boq?"

"Nope," the munchkin replies taking a sip of cider.

Fiyero turns to his ex girlfriend who has a huge smile on her face.

"Merry Lurlinemas!" She shouts in a high pitched voice Elphaba winces at.

"This is you?" Fiyero asks holding up his guitar.

"Uh huh," she answers nodding quickly giving him a hug which he accepts though still confused and a little suspicious.

"How did you know I wanted a guitar? I never told you," he said.

Nessa looks uncomfortable pretending to pay attention to her necklace hoping Galinda doesn't tell the truth.
Luckily for her, Galinda makes up a very convincing lie.

"Of course you did! That first night at the Ozdust we were together! I remember you said that you wanted one!"

"I don't recall," the prince spoke slowly thinking back to the night last over a year ago.

Galinda counters (more of like gaslighting), "You had three mugs of Winkie beer. Of course you didn't remember!"

Elphaba and Boq laugh at Fiyero's puzzled expression while Galinda winks a "thank you" to Nessa who winks back a "you're welcome" when no one was looking.

After a minute, Fiyero brushed the thought aside and thanks Galinda, "Well you have no idea how much this means to me. Thank you so much Glin."

"You're welcome Fiyero," she replies before realizing. "Ooooh! It's my turn!"

The blonde gets up and rushes over to the tree seeing only two presents left. Her eyes are immediately set on the flat pink glittery package with a fuchsia bow in the center. She sees the tag making sure it's hers and sure enough it is!

She picks it up and takes it back to her spot rambles on and on about the package.

"I LOVE the wrapping! It's so pretty! I could stare at this all night and not open it!"

Elphaba tries to interrupt, "Galinda-"

"Forget opening, I don't even want to! I love the gift just the way it is!"

"Galinda-"

"I'll just keep staring at it forever and ever and ever and-"

"GALINDA!" The rest of the group shouts stopping her from rambling. She looks up with a questioning look on her face.

"What?"

"Just open it Glin," the green girl says impatiently.

"Ok ok," Galinda sighs loudly before carefully tearing the wrapping paper which reveals a box.

"Ooooh! Is it a dress! Please be a dress? Or shoes! Or a makeup palette!"

Everyone rolled their eyes at the blonde girl's antics.

She opened it and her expression deflates a little seeing that it's not anything she thought she was going to get.

"Oh," she says trying to hide her disappointment. "It's just a book…"

Elphaba looks at the gift and wants to go kick herself because she wrapped the box while the cover was face down by mistake.

"Turn it over."

"What?

"Turn it over," Elphaba repeats. "Look at the title."

Galinda wanted to ask why but when she flipped the book over to the front, it shows the title "How to be Popular 101, written by Galinda Upland." The title is written in pink glitter on top of hot pink cover.

Th blonde girl is immediately speechless not knowing what to say. She picked up the book and looks over to the green girl who revealed herself as Secret Lurline.

"Surprise!"

Galinda gasped letting her hand feel the cover. "You published this? Without me?"

"Technically, yes and no," the green girl explains. "I did go to the publisher on the way to the library yesterday and showed her your paper. She loved it and wanted to have a meeting with you to discuss the book deal after the holidays are over."

She opens the book showing beautifully illustrated pages related to the topics on each page Galinda wrote like "Tip #4, daily skin care", "Tip #17, get full hours of beauty sleep every night," and Elphaba's favorite, "Tip #30, always keep a beautiful smile."

Elphaba continues. "It may not be the exact same when it hits the shelves. I just made this book myself as a gift to you Glin."

Galinda's blue eyes filled up with tears she couldn't keep in. "Elphie! I don't know what to say! Thank you so much!"

"You're welcome Glin."

Her best friend starts to cry and Elphaba got up to hug her. She smiles as the blonde kept sobbing tears of joy into her shoulder. "I'm so happy you love the gift."

Boq, Fiyero and Nessa couldn't help but smile at the two and Galinda sniffles.

"I'll not only read it but treasure it always."

Elphaba nodded in reply with a happy look on her face wiping her best friend's tears with her green finger.

The tall Munchkin happily watches his girlfriend enjoy her gift but deep down he is a nervous wreck. Elphaba hasn't received her gift yet and her turn is next. He hopes she loves it like her girlfriend did with her book. He mentally braced himself for what's about to come.

"That's really sweet of you Fabala," Nessa comments on Galinda's gift.

Galinda brought it over to her boyfriend who takes a look at the cover and sat down next to him.

"How did you manage to illustrate the whole thing on such short notice?" She questions the green girl.

Elphaba takes a deep breath before answering her, "I used not only my magic and one of my empty notebooks to complete it but I also used to love to draw when I was younger, so I drew every page related to the topic. And I know you are all going to ask how long it took. I pulled an all-nighter just for this at the library after hours."

"That's why you never came home last night!"

Boq opens the book and looks at the pictures on the pages. "Wow El, this is impressive! Look at this!"

He shows it to Nessa and Fiyero who got up to look at it.

Fiyero comments to his girlfriend, "Not only you can draw artistically, but also play the piano as well! What other things do you do?!"

Galinda gasp and Boq's eyebrow raise surprised at the statement and Elphaba's head glares toward him angrily.

"Who told you tha-" She asks in a sharp tone accusingly at the question but stopped. There is only one person who knows.

"Nessie…"

She looks at her sister who had that "sorry, not sorry" smile on her face.

"Really? Must you tell?" The green girl groaned upset.

Nessa confesses guiltily, "It slipped out when I had a conversation with him."

Elphaba gave an exasperated sigh and rolled her eyes making others giggle which in turn made her scowl. That made them shut up.

"There's one left," Fiyero announces changing the subject pointing to the lone present under his tree. Everyone stops laughing and looks at it.

Elphaba sighs again putting the conversation off till later.

"So it's my turn now?"

She goes to the tree and takes the last present from under the tree. It's a medium box shaped gift with turquoise green wrapping and a green and gold ribbon bow on top.

"And I assume who it's from?" She turns her head toward Boq who rolled his eyes.

"Just open it El."

She goes back to Fiyero and sat down next to him holding the gift. It felt a little heavy.

"This doesn't look like a book, this doesn't feel like a book."

"It's not a book," Boq says a little annoyed. "Open it!"

The green girl takes the wrapping paper off the box and opened it.

Her facial expressions went from confused to surprised in two seconds as she takes the present out.

It's a snow globe. On the inside it shows the Emerald City and on the outside has a wallpaper picture showing all sections of Oz including the little cottages in Munchkinland, the beautiful trees in Gilikin, the castle in the Vinkus and the poppy fields.

"Ooooooh!" Galinda squeals.

"Wow," Fiyero says amazed.

"Pretty," Nessa says in awe.

Elphaba starts, "Oh. It's a-"

She stopped short and stared at the globe in disbelief.

"No… It can't be…"

Her eyes start to widen as they land on the key on the side and she immediately winds it.

"Oh, it plays music too," Boq said in confusion, never realizing that there's more to it.

She shakes the snow globe and the snow inside falls over the city as a tune starts to play.

She turns it over and saw something on the bottom that made her heart skip a beat.

"Sweet Oz…"

Flashback

"Alright little Fabala, it's time for bed now," Melena (who was four months pregnant at the time) calls her two-year old green daughter who's playing with some toys on the floor in her bedroom.

Elphaba looked up and whined, "But I'm not tired."

"Lurline won't come until you are asleep," she reminds her picking her up in her arms and carried her over to her little toddler bed.

Melena puts Elphaba on the bed and put covers around her. "But it's a good thing you are not tired yet, otherwise you won't want to open an early Lurlinemas present!"

Her chocolate brown eyes instantly lit up when she said that.

Melena pulls a small box out from under her bed and gently puts it on her daughter's lap.

"Here you go sweetheart," she says with a smile. "Open it!"

Elphaba pulls the ribbon off and lifts the top of the box which reveals a beautiful snow globe.

She gasps as her mother carefully takes it out and shakes it in front of her showing green buildings inside the globe being covered with snow.

"Ooooooh, what is it?" Elphaba asked looking up at her mother for an answer.

"It's a snow globe. Look, it shows all of Oz on the outside!"

Melena turns it around for the green girl to see and it showed the little houses, a castle and poppy fields. But Elphaba was even more fascinated by what's on the inside of the snow globe.

"What's that?" Elphaba questions pointing out in fascination.

"That's the Emerald City," she replies. "The most beautiful city in Oz."

"It's green," she says. "Like me."

"Yes sweetheart. It's green like you."

She asks her mother, "Can we go there someday?"

"Absolutely my sweet! When you and your new brother or sister are a little old enough, we'll all go together."

Elphaba smiles as she marvels the beauty of it.

"Do you want to know what else it does?" Her mother asks.

Full of enthusiasm, Elphaba nods quickly.

"There is a key on the side which plays music when you wind it."

She takes it from her daughter and winds the key on the side. She stops and a soft melody begins to play.

Elphaba listens to it and realizes what song it plays.

"It's your lullaby!"

"Yes it is," Melena giggles. "And look at the bottom!"

Elphaba does and she sees is a little note written on the bottom and read, "Merry Lurlinemas my precious emerald. Love mama."

"Thank you mama! I love it!" Elphaba says happily, gently putting the snow globe down on her nightstand and gave her mother a hug who wraps her arms around her daughter.

"And don't you ever forget that you are my special little girl. Nothing will ever change that."
The little green girl replies, "I won't."

Melena tucks her daughter in and picks up the snow globe winding the key. She sets it down and the melody starts to play.

"Goodnight my precious emerald," she whispers giving her daughter a kiss on the forehead. "Merry Lurlinemas."

"Night night mama," Elphaba whispers back and her mother turns off the lamps when leaving and closing the door behind her.

As soon as she heard the door click close, Elphaba immediately sat up in her bed, carefully picked up her snow globe and shook it smiling as snow falls down on the buildings while the lullaby plays.

And ever since that night, her life-long dream is to go to the emerald city and eventually meet the Wizard himself.

End flashback

Elphaba stares at her snow globe wide eyed when she saw those familiar words on the bottom.

Her heart suddenly started pounding fast and tears form in her eyes as she starts to hyperventilate like she's about to have an anxiety attack.

It's her snow globe! HER snow globe! The only gift she ever got on Lurlinemas from her mother!

"Elphaba?"

"Elphie are you ok?"

"Fae, breathe!"

Elphaba snapped out of her trance realizing that the group watched her in worry.

Her breathing now returns to normal and calms down but now suddenly overcome with emotion, she lets her tears fall and she starts to cry hugging her gift tightly.

"What's the matter Elphie?" Galinda asks in concern coming to her side and starts rubbing her back while Fiyero wraps his arm around her to hug.

Nessa rolls over to her sister in worry while Boq sat in shock. Of course he expected a different reaction like everyone else, but he didn't think it come to this. He never meant to make Elphaba upset.

He came over to Elphaba who couldn't stop sobbing and apologizes, "I'm so sorry El. I didn't mean to make you cry. If this gift really hurt you, I can get you something else-"

"No no no!"

Immediately, she stopped crying but laughed a little, took deep breaths and Galinda gives her best friend her pink handkerchief which she takes.

"I'm not hurt or anything Boq," she sniffles drying her eyes with the cloth still holding the snow globe.

"Then why are you crying El?"

"You found it Boq!" Elphaba replied smiling through her teary eyes.

"Found what?"

She excitedly turns to her sister who still has the worried expression on her face.

"Nessa? Remember me telling you about mother's gift a long time ago?"

"Yeah?"

"This is the one!"

"This was mother's gift?" The wheelchair girl asked now in disbelief.

"Yes! Look at the bottom!"

Nessa takes Elphaba's snow globe and looks at the bottom and gasps. Galinda looks over as well.

"Oh my Oz," she gasps, tears started to well up reading the words. Her milky white fingers scan over her mother's words.

Galinda shook her head. "That's impossible!"

Elphaba's eyes went to Boq and demands the question. "Where did you find it?"

"At an antique shop in town. I was going to get you a book but I found this and thought it's a better gift."

Elphaba tells him, "When Nessa was born, father had someone move all my things and my snow globe was gone. He must have sold it to someone and it ended up in the shop… But it doesn't matter now. You found it!"
She laughs as more tears fall down her face.

What happened next shocked them both. Elphaba got up from her seat and pretty much attacked Boq with a tight bear hug that nearly knocked them both over.

She sobs tears of joy, still hugging him tightly, her voice broken, "Thank you Boq. For bringing my mother back to me and Nessa."

Boq softly smiled and rubbed her back affectionately. "You're welcome El. Merry Lurlinemas."

Galinda and Nessa are both a bit of a wreck while watching the exchange, tears and all. Fiyero on the other hand sat there smiling at the sight.

"Group hug!" Galinda calls out. She gets up and and goes to hug the two followed by Fiyero and Nessa rolled over to the group. Now all five have arms wrapped around each other in a hug that lasted what felt like a lifetime.

"I think it's safe to say that Secret Lurline is a success," Fiyero spoke to the group and everyone agreed instantly still in a hug. Even if they do this every year, it won't be the same as this particular night.

While the snow continues to fall outside, the group lounge around Fiyero's suite with the fire still crackling. Galinda, Nessa and Boq are now sitting on the couch reading her book, Nessa wearing her necklace while Boq holds his bear. Elphaba and Fiyero curled up in his chair under a blanket, her head resting against his shoulder holding her snow globe tightly against her chest listening to the music box, while Fiyero tries to play along to the song on his guitar.

He asks his girlfriend, "Did you have a good Lurlinemas Fae?"

"Nope… I'm having the best Lurlinemas ever!" Elphaba said happily.

The prince grinned broadly and the two share a special kiss.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY! FINALLY! This chapter took me a whole week to do! I just wanted to finish it asap! And I want to finish writing my other stories like My Father And I. I've been getting a lot of follows and faves asking me to continue this. I want to really, but life kept getting in the way and I've been procrastinating!
