abandon chapter Chapter 7: Day 6 Arc 1 Fair play is Turnabout Part 3

Akira Furuya POV (In a Hospital Bed, because you got shot)

"Dam-... My head hurts…" You weakly said as your eyes opened.

Looking around you find yourself in a sterile room, on a bed, with Celeste sleeping in a chair to the side of you. Wait, why is Celeste here? Where is here? Are you in a hospital?

Why are you in the hospital?

You brought your hand up to your chin and considered the last thing that happened to yo-.

Your hands instinctively went for your stomach… You got shot, a lot. A fucking lot, that guy shot you. That guy shot you…

You could've died.

You should've died.

Are you dead?

With your head in your hands, and eyes wide you felt your breath go out of control.

What the fuck happened for you to get shot? You were a step away from death. You almost died to save Kirigiri of all people! Why did you even follow her? It wasn't any of your business…

You try to get out of the bed but find yourself weak. Unnaturally so, it was like what you assumed would happen if you used all your blessings. You could barely move this body of yours. In your struggle to remove yourself from the bed Celeste began to stir from her sleep.

Oh yeah she was here…

Without her drills…

You were going to die weren't you…

Yawning and rubbing her eyes as she awoke Celeste had yet to become aware of you. That quickly changed however as you two locked eyes. You felt trepidation, not really knowing how Celeste was going to react but the second you saw the light shine in her eyes you felt at ease.

Celeste then quickly slammed into you.

She embraced you fully, and in such a swift manner you were left winded. You couldn't hear what she was saying but she was choking on her words, and bawling the whole time. So unlike the Celeste you knew. "Are you even listening?" Her strained voice became clear.

"Sorry… I was just processing, everything…" At you saying that Celeste took a step back and her red teary face came to center view.

"What… What even happened to leave you like that! They said you got shot six times! Six! What the hell happened!" Celeste yelled, though with how strained her voice was you doubted anyone but you heard her cries.

Was she crying all night?

"I followed Kyoko after she was done with what she needed from me because she ran off. Don't know why I followed her to be honest. I'll spare you the details but she was chasing after some killer-..." You began to say.

"She better not have…" Celeste tried to interrupt, though it was clear she was coming to the wrong conclusion.

"I don't think she expected it but the guy she was investigating was there in the same building. He shot me and went to deal with Kirigiri. The shot didn't kill or incapacitate me like the guy thought." You quickly explained.

You then add, "Yet after that I felt compelled to help her, I don't know why to be honest. I snuck up on the guy then smacked him with a chair, one of those foldable metal ones, and that's when he shot me with the rest of his bullets before getting run off by Kirigiri."

"That bitch…" Celeste growled as she bit her thumb's nail.

"Hey, I shouldn't have followed her. Me getting shot was entirely cause I was stupid." You say, uncharacteristically.

"Don't you defend her!" The hoarse voice of your girlfriend screamed.

"I'm gonna lock her in a box and ship her to Mexico. Let the cartels have fun with another Ultimate Detective. Fitting for what she deserves!" Celeste ranted to herself. She was referencing that old case? From that true crime podcast that you two listened to?

"Didn't that American Detective do that as an undercover thing, pretty sure she never even got raped…" You brought up.

"She did get addicted to drugs though." She bitterly spat.

"Which she eventually got over before dying last year, yeah…" You said.

The both of you just stared at each other for a moment. "Why make a reference to that of all things?" You asked.

"Cause she deserves to suffer and that's the only thing I could think of!" Celeste says.

"Well I don't disagree with you that she should suffer… But I don't like how you're pushing the blame entirely onto her…" You say, not really believing what you're saying.

Upon further thought you realized what you really meant, "No that's not it… I think I'm weirded out that you aren't blaming me of all things. Like not even a bit of this is my fault?"

Celeste sputtered at that before collecting herself by saying, "I-! Ah-! But-! Let me be angry at her alright! You don't want me to hit you do you?"

"It is weird that you haven't…" Is your response.

The two of you went silent at that, at this point the two of you were avoiding eye contact. You two were weirdos. Evil criminal weirdos, but still weirdos.

You did find something to change the topic during this silence, thank god. "So how did you find out what happened to me? I figured Kirigiri told you but I don't think she's socially capable of that…"

"Well…" Celeste started…

Celestia Ludenberg POV (Last night, in your bed)

She clung to the pillow with a vice grip, wrathful as she clung to the now bulging pillow. "Where is he…" She mumbled to herself, not bothering with her accent as no one was around.

It was almost midnight and he still hadn't come back from wherever he was. She felt fear. Fear that something had happened, or worse, that she wasn't enough for him. She knew she would never be enough sexually, Akira was too greedy for that. He would need to enjoy the varied spices of life.

Yet she was certain that she could at least be by his side the whole time while enjoying the pleasure.

That didn't stop the lingering doubts that she wasn't good enough for him. Taeko Yasuhiro was a loser after all… Even if she played the role of Celestia Ludenberg that wouldn't change that Akira knew who she was, who she truly was.

Akira wasn't so shallow; she knew that. She knew these doubts were infantile.

Celestia Ludenberg and Akira Furuya were partners in crime and she knew that.

So why was she so afraid? Akira was the smartest guy she knew. Too clever for anyone to even see his deceit if they didn't have bullshit lying abilities like she did. He should be untouchable. That's the image Celestia Ludenberg had in her head.

If Akira had died, she'd more likely believe that he donated to a charity out of the goodness of his heart.

It would be clear that it was all a machination for some strange scheme. Because that's who Akira Furuya was in Celestia Ludenberg's fantasy.

In reality she knew he had flaws, that his greed brought out the worst in him. That greed of his often led him to make dumb decisions or even act rashly when it didn't make sense to even act. He couldn't stop himself, and he had the obnoxious ability to cover up any mistakes he made.

He never learned from his mistakes because of this.

That's why she was really afraid… Where was he?

A knock on the door to Akira's dorm is heard, it was quiet, timid. Yet she heard it. The dorm was deafening in it's silence, so the small noise startled the Ultimate Gambler out of her stupor. Rising from the bed she walked out the bedroom as another, slightly louder knock rings out.

As she approached the door she realized she hadn't put back on her drills… Groaning, she goes back to Akira's room to keep up appearances but a frantic third knock is heard. Sighing to herself she realized she didn't have to show herself even if it would be polite.

Walking back to the door she opens it up as a fourth knock, the loudest yet is banged against it.

"Eek!" The timid voice of Mikan Tsumiki scratches at her ears.

"Yes?" She says in her Celestia Ludenberg voice.

She heard the girl squirm and groan to herself before gaining the courage to say, "Celeste! I-I've been l-looking for you…"

"Oh? Not Akira, whatever for?" She asks somewhat amused.

"W-Well, I-I know A-Akira is-isn't in there… And s-s-since yo-you weren't i-in your dorm, y-you h-h-h-had to be h-h-here…" The Ultimate Nurse stuttered out.

Something struck at Celeste from what Mikan said, and she was quick to point it out, "You knew he wasn't here?" Her accent quickly faded.

"Y-Y-Y-Y-Yes?" Mikan barely managed out at the serious tone of Celeste.

"You know where he is then?" Her accent quickly returned.

"T-That's w-w-what I w-wanted to t-t-t-tell you…" Mikan mumbled.

"I-I th-think yo-you deserved to k-know since y-you and h-him are… Together…" Mikan said, though the last part had a bitter tone to it.

Celeste decided to ignore it as she waited for the girl to get to the point. "T-The s-school informed m-me that A-A-A-Akira got… G-G-Got seriously injured… S-Shot was w-what I was told… They w-wanted me to o-operate on him but a-apparently he's in no… N-No p-position to be m-moved from the h-hospital…" Mikan said gravely, with tears in her eyes.

Celeste's heart sunk with every word.

"A-as a n-nurse I felt it was my r-responsibility to l-let you k-k-k-know…" She said with a quiver.

This had to be a dream.

Then there was a bit of hope in her voice as she said, "I-I-I-I h-heard he should be a-alright though…"

It wasn't real right? He wouldn't…

Rushing out of the dorm she clasped both of Mikan's arms as the girl yelped in her grasp. Celeste had only one demand, "What happened to him? Which hospital?"

Akira Furuya POV (Back in the present, and in the hospital)

"So that's what happened huh…" You say upon hearing Celeste's story.

She was a bit sparse on the details but you got the gist. The school wanted to handle your recovery, Mikan was going to handle it, but the hospital didn't feel okay with moving you with your injuries.

So they did it here and Mikan being the saint she is decided to tell your girlfriend about what happened.

"What should be the first position I take her in?" You questioned aloud.

"Really! You scoundrel! That's what you take from that!" Celeste yelled.

About an hour later

"Well… You're cleared to go Mister Furuya. You heal surprisingly fast. An overnight stay and your bullet wounds have repaired to a point where I can't find a good reason to keep you here. However, if you wish to stay longer I wouldn't refuse. Your circumstance truly is odd." The doctor in charge of your recovery informed you.

"I'll get out of here… But I have one question." You say as you get out of the bed with Celeste's assistance.

"Was my friend here my only visitor?" You asked, for one reason in particular.

"No, your mother was here last night when you were admitted. However, she didn't stay for long and I don't believe she ever got to see you in person… Miss Ludenberg was quite fierce in getting to your room and considering she's an Ultimate…" The doctor trailed off.

Yeah your mother wouldn't have been able to get into your room like Celeste did, the privileges of the talented and all that.

"At least she isn't that far gone." You mutter to yourself, having lost care.

You'll go see your mother at your earliest convenience. If only as thanks for caring enough to check on you when you got shot. If she had heard you got shot and didn't even visit you really would give up on her… But she isn't what is important right now…

"Let's head back to Hope's Peak, yeah?" You tell Celeste.

She nods and the both of you leave together.

An hour later

Of course this is what you should've expected the second you stepped on the grounds. Honestly, does she have no sense of tact… "What the fuck did I tell you! I'll give you the courtesy and let you leave now to rethink your actions, but if you approach my boyfriend again I'll kill y-!" Celeste yelled at the Ultimate Detective.

Yes she really did come to see you the second you got back.

It was what? Ten in the morning?

Actually now that you are looking at her, you can see bags under Kyoko's eyes.

Interrupting Celeste you ask, "Hey did you even get sleep?"

Kyoko's eyes widen at your statement before nodding then shaking her head while saying, "Yes… No, I'm afraid not. I was left quite busy after… Your unfortunate accident."

"I'm surprised, yet thankful that you're moving so soon." She added on.

However you pointed out, "You were waiting for us, like you knew I would be healthy enough to return exactly by now…"

Kyoko quickly explains, "I was told you were making a miraculous recovery and likely would be released by morning. Considering the hospital opens to the public around nine I had begun waiting around nine thirty."

She really is something else. Could she really have known that you'd recover in time to be released that soon? No she has to know more than just the testimonies of the doctors… What did she see that gave her that impression? You didn't even think you'd…

You forgot…

How the fuck did you forget about your regeneration? Of course you lived! That guy couldn't kill you if he shot you square in the head! Probably…

Damn, you got caught up in the moment and completely forgot…

But did Kyoko see your regeneration first hand? If it was working that well then you wouldn't have needed to stay at the hospital in the first place. It had to be that though.

Whatever, none of that was important, you had a detective to sate. You knew why she was waiting for you.

"You really couldn't wait to ask questions?" You asked the purple haired detective.

"I know this is insensitive of me…" Kyoko started.

"I'm going to kill her…" Celeste growled under her breath.

"But I need to know what happened last night. After our mishap another body was found. With it absolutely being another victim of Romano." Kyoko announced.

"What? Who?" Celeste asked, not really following.

"You must really be tired if you're just saying that in the open." You tell her.

Kyoko's eyes widen as she straightens her slowly slouching position, and says, "My apologies."

"If we could speak in private that would be preferred…" Kyoko added.

"You bitch, leave him alone before I fucking-!" Celeste was seconds away from attacking Kyoko at this point.

"Can't this wait for later Kirigiri, you look exhausted and I just got out of the hospital." You say, almost pleading for her to leave you alone.

"The sooner we get this done, the sooner I don't have to bother you right?" Kyoko offered, melancholic as she said it.

Sighing you just said, "Alright fine… Celeste don't blow a fuse while I go talk with her alright?"

"I'll try…" Celeste says with the worst grimace you had ever seen from her yet.

The two of you had walked a ways away, but not too far. You pretty much just turned a corner and stopped there. Thankfully it seemed like you two would be left alone for now. Kyoko stands in front of you with a strained mask of stoicism, her tiredness and guilt ate away at her.

Kyoko took her time with her words as she started speaking, "I would like to say I am glad that you are okay. I… I was worried that despite what the doctors had said that something could have slipped their notice. Yet it seems such concern was unneces-."

"Can we just get to the point?" You interrupt a bit rudely.

Pausing for a moment Kyoko nods her head then says, "Of course."

"Firstly I'd like to ask why and how you followed me? That detail still confuses me and I'd like to know more before probing further." She asks, taking an inquisitive pose as she did so.

Starting with that then? You saw no reason to be dishonest so you explained, "Well as for the how I just ran after you, not much else to explain there. You were surprisingly fast though so I was left a bit winded by the time I got inside the theater. As for the why… I don't know… You running off so suddenly is the primary reason I guess…"

Lowering her hands to her sides Kyoko then adds to her previous question with, "But you can't remember your exact thought process?"

You just shake your head no. That might seem suspicious to her, but you really don't know why you followed her. It was a spur of the moment thing.

Sighing to herself she then says, "Well… I don't doubt your good intentions but-... No… That would be rude of me to say."

"Just say it." You demanded as you crossed your arms.

Her face becomes pensive for a moment before turning solemn as she says, "I would request you don't do similar things in the future. I know that's a bit hypocritical of me considering the circumstances but I intend to follow my own advice. I think the both of us would lead healthier lives if we didn't rush into danger like last night…"

You wanted to get mad at that but at the very least she recognized she didn't really have a leg to stand on.

Awareness! Good for her.

However you still used the opportunity to mock Kyoko, "Will you really follow through on that?"

"To the best of my ability." She said with a stern tone.

Raising both your hands in an appeasing gesture you then say, "If you say so."

Kyoko gave you an unimpressed glare as she then asked, "Now… Did Romano merely sneak up on you then shoot you or was there an altercation of some sort?"

"We briefly spoke." You admit.

"What?" Kyoko let out in surprise, her eyes widening.

Nodding you then elaborate by saying, "I think he was trying to intimidate me into not saying anything about him and I gave him some sort of impression that led him to believing I would. Then he shot me in the stomach." The last thing you said caused Kyoko to flinch.

"Do you remember exacts or no?" Kyoko asks, not letting her anxiety keep her down.

"'If you had pretended not to, I would've let you go' something along those lines." You said.

"Those are the only words you remember?" Kyoko asked, clearly unsatisfied.

"They're the only ones that stood out to me considering what followed." You explain, getting another flinch from Kyoko.

Kyoko then brought her hand to her chin as she entered deep thought, murmuring all the while, "Then you managed to fight through the pain and get the drop of Romano while he was threatening me. Then… Then…"

"Then I became swiss cheese yeah." You finished for her.

Kyoko closes her eyes as she then asks, "That reminds me… Forgive me for being intrusive… But was your recovery truly some miracle or…" Something else went unsaid as she opened her eyes.

Rubbing the back of your head you plainly say, "As far as I'm aware my body has always healed fast. This was the first time I've ever had such serious injuries though…"

"I think that kind of recovery goes beyond 'healing fast'. You should've been in the hospital for days at least and the more I think about it the more it just doesn't add up." Kyoko said callously as she looked directly into your eyes.

"What doesn't add up?" You ask, getting annoyed with what you felt she was implying.

Her eyes briefly widen before Kyoko quickly clarifies, "Sorry… That was rude of me… I just find such a thing odd. I'm not trying to say anything other than that."

"Well I don't know what to tell you, it's just been a thing for as long as I've been alive." You lie, technically anyway.

"Very well… I won't bother you with those sorts of questions then." Kyoko says.

It seemed like Kyoko didn't have any more questions even beyond your healing abilities. So instead you ask the questions, "Still, this seriously couldn't have waited? Was it not enough that you got me wrapped up in this? I couldn't have been allowed some reprieve after last night."

Kyoko's face becomes pensive again as she explains, "I swear to you if you had been in the hospital I would've saved it till you were out. I just wanted to get this over with as quickly as possible for the both of us. Especially since it seems the case is moving faster than I can keep up with it, much to my shame."

"So the second I got released no matter what you were going to rush after me like a hound… Real classy." You say bitterly.

Kyoko's eyes narrowed as she hastily said, "I'm just trying to get this case closed. The quicker I get Romano apprehended the sooner-."

You interrupt immediately, getting tired of her attitude, "The sooner neither of us will be in danger, right? That's what you were going to say?"

Kyoko stills at that and says, "What do you mean?"

"Oh, of course that wasn't your concern was it? It was probably more along the lines of 'the sooner I can put this case behind me', right? That's what you were _actually_ about to say wasn't it? Are you just dense or actually that selfish to only care about your problems…" You deride with a cold tone.

"That's… No, I won't let you distract me… What do you mean by 'the sooner we won't be in danger'?" Kyoko seriously asks.

You feel your eye twitch as you say, "You really think an international assassin that has already shot one of us six times wouldn't be willing to put us in the dirt if it meant making his life easier? Kyoko, I expect better of you…"

Kyoko gapes at you words, just staring at you with a slightly ajar mouth.

"I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you've had a long night. That you aren't at the top of your game. However, he's already outmaneuvered you last night and do you really think he's going to leave either of us alone after all this?" You explain.

"…" Kyoko is silent, contemplative.

Silence reigns.

"…" You can't bring yourself to speak, waiting to see how she'll react.

The silence doesn't end just yet.

Kyoko's brow become sweaty as the young woman gets lost in thought.

The ultimate detective finally breaks the silence by asking a question you couldn't expect, "You're right… Should… Should I just drop the case then?"

'Huh?' Is your only thought.

"What?" You let out, honestly surprised by what Kyoko had just asked.

"You're right, I don't think Romano will leave either of us alone if I proceed with the case. I let myself focus too much on closing the case for good and getting the man locked up. I hadn't considered the consequences for either of us now that I got you involved." She said plainly.

"What?" You repeat, honestly just befuddled that she was genuinely considering this.

Did you come to the wrong conclusions on the girl?

She then added on, "I had only been considering myself and what challenges I would have to overcome… I guess I just got used to working on cases alone. It doesn't help that Romano isn't the first time my life has been put at risk for following through with a case… But it has been a long while since a case has put someone I've worked with in danger… And I'm sorry for doing that to you."

The question is… Is she having her resolve weaken and wither… Or is she learning a lesson and growing as a person.

Kyoko continues speaking, "I have a feeling Romano will leave both of us alone if I cease my investigation… Though I don't wish to make such a choice, I have no right to make a decision that puts you in harm's way… If you want me to stop… I'll stop. I owe it to you for what you did for me last night."

You stand there contemplative, you are suddenly at a crossroads once more and you get to influence Kyoko with a binary decision.

To cease, or not to cease.

Yes that is a question…

"I can't ask that of you." You tell her plainly.

Kyoko looks at you with a raised brow, as she asks, "Why? Why put yourself in danger? You know that nothing good will come from me continuing the case… So why…"

The girl looks down at her feet as her words taper off, uncertainty wafting off of her form.

"Kyoko. I don't like you." You say bluntly.

As she begins raising her head you follow up your previous statement with, "Not one bit."

Now looking into your eyes with a tired depressed look Kyoko tries to say, "Then wh-..."

"But I would be an idiot to say that's a good idea for either of us. I don't believe that guy one bit, we should sleep with one eye open no matter what you choose to do." You start with as you approach Kyoko

As you get closer Kyoko takes a step back

You keep walking forward as you say, "The guy's a murderer and he's willing to hurt us for whatever his goal is. If we were even a slight threat to his comfort, like we are now, I don't doubt he'll try to take us out."

She continues to back away instinctively.

"I think we can both agree we'd feel safer with that guy behind bars, and honestly, you're an Ultimate for a reason. If anyone can get that guy behind bars it's you right?" You add on, trying to instill some confidence back into the young detective.

"But…" Kyoko tries to say.

You don't give her the chance to speak as you are now mere meters away from her saying, "You made mistakes, several, back to back at that. However, this isn't the first time you lived with mistakes I'm certain. What makes this situation any different than the others that I'm certain you've lived through… Why quit now?"

"You could get hurt… You could die and it wouldn't solely be Romano's fault." Kyoko said uncertain looking away from you, being surprisingly vulnerable in this moment.

"Well too late for that, I'm involved, I'm in danger no matter what." You start the lie, you saw opportunity for fun after all.

Why would you let this excitement go to waste?

"That's why I'm gonna do my best to help you even if I dislike you. At this point we're both too deep. So let's get out of this hole together alright?" You offer your hand as you speak.

Kyoko hesitates…

But in the end, she takes your hand.

"I'm truly sorry for my callous actions…" She says, a unique tone to her voice. There's none of that false stoicism or neutrality, her voice isn't just tinted with vulnerability.

Kyoko Kirigiri is vulnerable, and you wormed your way in through her tough exterior though it was not your initial intention.

Now you're on the path of conspiracy and future heartbreak.

Do not let regrets form, it's too late to go back.

A minute or two later…

You and Kyoko had gone your separate ways upon coming to an agreement. You had returned to Celeste's side while Kyoko went who knows where. In the end a deal was struck and you were going to stick by this decision for now…

It was probably too late to go back on it anyways.

However, that is not your concern. Celeste is, "Why on earth are you tolerating her presence?" That is the first thing she asks as you two renew your path towards the dorms.

"Celeste calm yourself…" You tell her, not really wanting to have this discussion right now. Especially if she was going to get heated,

"You got shot because of her." Your girlfriend growled.

"It was my fault, I can recognize that, why can't you?" You ask, honestly weirded out by how Celeste was acting. She was never this defensive or caring about you beforehand.

Celeste tries to come up with a rebuttal but finds herself mouth agape with no noise leaving her throat. She ultimately decides to say, "Whatever, if you want to get killed following that bitch what the hell am I supposed to do…"

It was plainly obvious what Celeste was feeling so you tried to assuage her concerns by saying, "I'm not going to get killed... Last night… Last night was very exceptional circumstances. There won't be a repeat."

Celeste didn't appear convinced and so you added, "Alright, how about this. I'll tell you everything that happened last night tonight. Then I'll prove to you that I'm being serious about what I just said. I don't care if you're upset at Kyoko, but I don't like how you're not giving me the benefit of the doubt…"

Celeste went to say something but you quickly follow up your previous statement, "We'll figure it out later alright. We can work this out, we're mature enough. At least I'd like to think so."

The Ultimate Gambler merely harrumphs at your statement and says, "Hopefully you're right… I would feel better about all this if you didn't interact with that bitch though."

You were about to change the topic but then suddenly you hear a shout, "Oh my god Akira!"

You had to do a double take upon hearing the voice, "Asahina?"

The Ultimate Swimmer was suddenly in front of you fretting over your body as she said, "Are you alright? I heard you got shot!"

A chiding voice soon follows Aoi's, "Hina…" The stoic voice of Sakura had reached your ears.

The two athletic girls were suddenly in front of you, and you could only point out, "How did you hear about that?"

"Wait, so you did get shot? Why are you out of the hospital? You should be resting!" Asahina shouts as she waves her arms… Why is she so concerned in the first place? And again how did she find out?

Sakura is looking at you with a keen eye as she says, "He looks fine… Perhaps it was merely a grazed wound?"

"Then why would he have to stay overnight?" Aoi asked.

Sakura pauses at that and gives you another lookover as she says, "You are alright, yes?"

"He's fine." Celeste bites out as she takes hold of your arm in an embrace.

"Who are you?" Aoi asks, not realizing she was talking to Celeste.

"Hina… It's Celeste…" Sakura clarifies for her friend.

"Oh… I didn't recognize you, sorry!" Aoi says as she turns her head away embarrassed.

Having enough you ask again, "Alright, where did you hear I got shot?"

Upon hearing the question once more Aoi brings her hand to her chin as she thinks it over before saying, "Um… I think we heard it from Makoto…"

"He said he heard it from an upperclassman, however, I think it was the Ultimate Nurse if I'm recalling it correctly." Sakura sagely says.

Mikan? What did she do? Tell everyone? Why not just Celeste?

"We'll have to talk to her about the importance of privacy then…" Celeste mutters, her eyes unimpressed with hearing this information.

You agreed but didn't say anything aloud merely thinking over the possible explanations behind such an action.

In the end you decide to say, "Well, I'm thankful for your concern but as Celeste said I'm fine. The wounds looked worse than they were and I was fine by morning. For now I want to go relax, so I'll see you two in class."

"Very well…" Sakura says in response.

While Aoi says, "Seeya then!"

Then you two were off once more, at the very least you knew how you were going to spend your morning.

An indeterminate amount of time passes,

Sitting in your dorm, you think over how you'll handle the coming hour. You had already decided you were going to confront Mikan to figure out what she did. You have a feeling she just panicked upon learning you had been harmed and couldn't keep her mouth shut…

But you wanted to ensure the validity of that statement.

First you were going to get to the bottom of this… Then perhaps you'll reciprocate Mikan's care and affection tenfold… If you're satisfied with her that is.

"What are you scheming?" Celeste asks from across the room, she was currently sipping herself some tea in the kitchen.

"Just thinking of how I'll handle Mikan, I appreciate the concern and all…" You start.

"But she needs to understand the importance of privacy." Celeste finishes for you as she brings her tea back up to her lips.

As the Ultimate Gambler brings down her cup she can't stop herself from adding, "While I understand that… But I would rather you rest that concern yourself with anything else however…"

"Yeah, yeah. I appreciate it and all, but I'm going to stay on top of things." You tell her as you rise from your seat and head towards the door.

"Well… Stay safe alright…" Celeste says, without a hint of her accent, and clear as day concern.

"I'll be fine." Is all you say as you exit the dorm.

You're fucking lost again.

How hard is it to find the infirmary… It doesn't help that basically everyone you've come across is too busy asking if you're alright to actually help you. People you haven't even talked to like that Fujisaki girl or Owada guy asked if you were fine…

You had also come across Ibuki and Mahiru but they were quick to leave upon hearing you were fine.

So now you were just wandering around the school bumping into every which person and everyone's asking you the same question. All the while your own question lies unanswered.

Seriously, why were you born with such a fucked up internal compass.

It should be impossible to get lost like this.

Yet here you are lost. God dammit you're about to throw a fit, you just wanted to talk to-!

As you were mid thought something bumped into your chest and suddenly your ears are being scratched at by impudent noise.

"A-A-A-A-Akira!" A timid voice screeches and several crashes are heard as someone falls over.

"Mikan!" You shout in turn as it turns out the Ultimate Nurse had bumped into you.

What luck!

For you, not Mikan… As the girl had somehow ended up in a really indecent pose.

Her wrists had been loosely bound by bandages in front of her chest with the roll slowly rolling away from her grasp. A metal tray pushed up her skirt revealing her panties to you. All the while a stethoscope parted her breasts wonderfully as it was wrapped around the neck while the end of it was being pulled by the tray.

Mikan's clothes had also been left drenched and this made it impossible to not notice her erect nipples… Now considering the fact that her legs were barely wet… You don't think that wetness taking over her panties was from whatever liquid she spilled all over herself.

Bottles and other medicinal stuff lay all over the floor and yet you can only stare down at the girl in utter shock. Seriously? How do you manage this? This has to have been practiced but there's no way Mikan knew she was going to run into you…

Was this really some divine accident?

"A-A-A-Agh! I'm so sorry! Please forgive me! I didn't mean it, I didn't mean it!" Mikan began crying out as her face was overcome with embarrassment and horror.

You stare at her for a bit longer—ensuring the sight stays in your head for life—but it doesn't take long for you to decide you'll help her up. Perhaps you were giving her the benefit of the doubt but as odd as that was, there was no way she planned that out… Right?

You focus on picking up all her stuff first as Mikan had already removed her hands from her bindings. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry… Forgive me…" Mikan groaned to herself as she stood up and straightened out her dress, not helped by how soaking wet it was.

She looked exceptionally pathetic as she began sobbing loudly. Her hair and clothes were dripping wet slowly making the parts of her body that remained dry also get soaked. "Agh… Uh… Sorry… Ugh I'm… Sorry…" Mikan continued to whine.

"Mikan you don't need to apologize, that was just a freak accident." You mutter just loud enough for her to hear as you hold the tray filled with everything you were able to salvage.

"You… Y-You forgive me?" Mikan asks with a wobbly voice, hope crawling into her words.

"Yes, now come on, let's go get you cleaned up and some new clothes…" You tell her as you pat her—very wet—back.

Mikan, still overcome with despair, slowly drips back into hysterics as she says, "I-I'm sorry you ha-have to help su-such a useless p-person like me! I'm too much of a clutz!"

"Hey don't talk like that, c'mon." You tell her as you try to get the nurse moving.

"I-I don't even have a c-change of clothes… W-What am I going to do!" Mikan cries out as she clutches her head.

This is going to be a problem…

Minutes Later

With Mikan in tow, it didn't take long to find the infirmary. Thankfully for Mikan the two of you encountered no one along the way keeping her pathetic self out of sight and out of mind. Unfortunately for you, she was hiccupping and sobbing and mumbling apologies the whole way.

Frankly you were annoyed, you were already sort of upset with her spreading the word over your incident… But now you were getting aggravated with her behavior, as this was frankly ridiculous.

She was sitting by herself on one of the beds in the infirmary, soaked in whatever she had spilled all over herself. Of course she continued to cry the entire time. You did feel a bit bad for her, obviously but like…

Damn did she make it hard for that pity to last.

Sighing to yourself you wonder what you should do, she was clearly in no state to answer questions, but you'd be damned if you didn't get her to talk. You could hold off for now, though…

How in the hell are you going to get her out of this funk?

What do? What do? — Voting closed — 4 voters

You'll dry her clothes while Mikan cleans herself up in the infirmary's bathroom. It'll probably take a while for her to do so, but you will be able to ask her about what's going on while she's doing all that. 1/1 - She can change into one of the patient gowns while you ask her your questions and clean up her clothes later. 0 She can sit in utter sorrow and wet despair as you ask your questions, you're in a shitty mood enough as it is you're not dealing with this. 0 Mikan is way smaller than you, if you give her your jacket she can just close it and cover herself just fine. Of course she'd have to put aside her other clothes but at least she'll be able to answer your questions. 3/4

Coming to a decision you call out, "Mikan."

Still sobbing the girl tries to wipe away her tears as she asks, "Y-Yes?"

Taking off your jacket you toss it onto the bed next to the one Mikan was sitting on as you say, "Go get changed out of those wet clothes, my jacket should cover you well enough."

Mikan stops crying at the sudden offer and stares at your jacket like it was the second coming of Christ. Her face is overcome with a blush as she mumbles something under her breath that you couldn't hear. Picking up your jacket gently Mikan makes her way to the bathroom.

As you wait outside you hear her giggling like a schoolgirl and now you're suddenly very uncomfortable.

It takes a few minutes but Mikan soon walks out of the bathroom. Grabbing the hem of your jacket she pulls it downwards, making it go just slightly below her knees. The blush has not left her face but at least she no longer looks like she's going to have a breakdown.

In fact she looks absolutely ecstatic wearing your clothes…

With a messy smile Mikan uncertainly mumbles, "T-T-Thank you, 'Kira…"

"No problem…" You tell her.

A brief silence occurs as you quickly focus on why you came here and say, "Hey, Mikan… I had actually been looking for you." Mikan's face turns pale.

Mikan almost instantly lets go of your jacket upon hearing that as she brings up her hands and clasps them as she says, "A-Are you s-still h-hur-hurt? I-I-I heard you g-g-g-got shot la-last n-night from the s-school…"

"I'm fine but I did want to speak to you about what happened." You tell her as a soft smile overcomes your neutral expression.

"W-What do you mean? D-Do y-you need a ch-checkup?" Mikan asks.

Your smile vanishes as you then say, "No. I wanted to talk to you about how apparently every person in this school is suddenly aware of what happened last night…"

Mikan stills upon hearing that and then says, "W-What?"

It didn't take too long to explain what you meant, after all… All you had to say was, "To put it simply Mikan… Before and while I was looking for you I had more than a few encounters with classmates, upperclassmen, and people I've never met asking me about last night…"

Mikan gaped at the statement and began curling in on herself.

"I mean… If it was one or two people I may have not minded, but then I just kept getting asked… 'Did you really get shot?' 'Are you alright, I heard something bad happened?' 'Hey, you didn't get involved in gang stuff did you?' Etcetera…" You continued with your explanation watching as Mikan became smaller and smaller.

Her anxieties and fears ate away at whatever happy emotions she was feeling previously.

Feeling you've gotten the point across you finish with, "Yet, somehow when I inquired where they heard of such things they kept finding there way back to you. I don't like to accuse people of things Mikan, and while I am grateful you informed Celeste of my injury… I just have to know why you felt it was a good idea to spread that information…"

Mikan at this point was on her knees, doubled over herself, as she muttered incoherently. You couldn't really make out what she was saying, as it was far too incomprehensible. She was basically speaking gibberish.

Eventually through the sobbing and self pity a tangible response came through, "i-I-I… Guh! A-Am… Ugh…. I-I-I-I'm s-s-sorry! I-I-I ne-never meant to do s-s- such a thing!"

"Oh? Then why tell any of them?" You ask, standing over Mikan and putting perhaps too much pressure on the girl.

"I-I-I on-only told on-one othe-other person though! I don't… I ne-never t-told a-anyone else!" She cries out. That leaves you confused…

Thinking back to the various conversations you've had in the past hour you guess you never heard anyone say Mikan directly told them… Oh… There's no way she's that much of an idiot right? "Mikan… What was it exactly you did after you heard of my altercation?" You asked sweetly, doing your best to not sound accusatory.

Mikan hazards a glance up at you as she lets out a hiccup, the upper half of her tear-stained face no longer obscured to you. After a brief pause she reveals the rest of her face as she tries to say, "I-I… Hic! I w-w-waited f-for the s-school to t-tell me… Hic! T-Tell me w-what they w-wanted me t-to do…"

"You didn't yell out in shock or anything equally ridiculous?" You asked, not able to keep the accusatory tone out of your voice this time.

"N-No! Hic! T-That w-would be t-terrible of me!" Mikan cried out.

Well there goes that option… "I-I may ha-have-... Hic! I may h-have told M-Makoto… B-But th-that's only be-because he asked me what was-... Hic! W-Wrong with me!" Mikan explains.

Hina and Sakura said they had heard it from Makoto, and that checked out for some others in your class… However, you had to ask, "You swear you only told Makoto?"

"Y-Yes! I-I-I wouldn't lie about this! Hic!" Mikan screeched.

Sighing to yourself you say to Mikan, "I'm not mad if you told more than just Celeste, Mikan… I just wanted to make sure you weren't telling everyone you could… Well maybe that's not totally accurate. Like if you had told someone like Ibuki I might be a little upset-..." You had to stop mid sentence as you noticed Mikan suddenly had a very guilty expression.

"I thought you only told Makoto." You ask with clear disdain.

Mikan immediately went to defend herself as she shouted, "H-H-Hiyoko wouldn't stop bullying me! S-She pr-practically forced me to tell her and Mahiru! Ibuki only h-heard because she w-was nearby! I'm s-so sorry! P-Please forgive me!" Her hiccups had suddenly vanished when it came down to brass tacks huh…

That explained why some upperclassmen knew, you could totally see Hiyoko spreading that around for literally no reason if she felt like it… However, there was people even from classes you didn't interact with as well as your sister class that knew about it…

That then calls into question… Did Mikan tell even more people than she already admitted to?

You don't believe that. While you were certain there was more going on here you had a feeling Mikan was being honest when she said the only other people that heard from her were those three. You don't appreciated being lied to by what's yours though…

Hmm… Looking down at the still weeping Mikan you wonder how to handle the situation. She was such a pathetic sight at times, to the point it stops being cute at times.

Now the real questions…

Did you really care that Mikan spilled that little piece of info? If anything you should be more upset at Makoto, Hiyoko, and probably Ibuki for spreading it. Not Mahiru though, out of that group of four girls she seemed like the only one who wouldn't do something like that.

You also had to ask yourself if you really cared about the fact she initially lied. Because ultimately you couldn't blame her considering the situation, however it still kind of annoyed you that someone like Mikan would lie to you.

She's yours after all…

Hmmm…

Tired of the sight in front of you as well as Mikan's pathetic act you command her, "Stand up! You're ridiculous if you think that's going to get sympathy out of me!" Your words serve to only upset Mikan even more.

At least it gets her off the floor.

Still crying to herself Mikan does what you ask with shaky legs and a shakier will. Not wasting any time you tell her, "Grab your clothes, and c'mon. I'm not going to do a whole song and dance in the middle of the school."

"H-Huh? W-What do you mean?" Mikan gains the gall to ask.

"Mikan?" You ask as you turn towards the doorway and away from her.

"Y-Yes?" She says mid sob.

"Did I give you permission to ask questions?" Is your plain response. Since you were no longer facing her you don't know what her reaction was, but what you do know is that as you left the nurse's office that Mikan was following right behind you.

You did catch some people glancing at you and Mikan weirdly as you two wandered the halls. Admittedly the walk took a bit longer than you thought it should've…

Wasn't your fault Hope's Peak was a damn maze! The main entrance shouldn't be this hard to find.

As you had been walking through the halls you had heard Mikan say something under her breath that had really aggravated you, "I-Is this a m-march of shame?'

It wasn't! Hope's Peak just had shitty construction!

Finally leaving the school behind, you head to your dorms but not before sending a quick chain of texts to Celeste.

'If you are at the dorm just wanted to let you know I'm bringing the troublemaker over.' You sent.

'*Rolling eyes* which one?' Celeste sent back.

'Nurse.' You send back.

'Y?' Was Celeste's quick response.

'Wanted her punishment to be private. Gonna be doing very naughty things with lil miss nurse. Just wanted to warn you.' You type as fast as you can. The two of you had reached the halfway point to the dorms as you sent the message.

'Feel free, it's your dorm. Just let me have some fun after and I'll forgive you if you disturb my reading.' She sent back after a short delay.

'You can have fun with me if you want?' You send in vain hopes.

'I'll consider it, but I want to finish this book in a timely manner. Just as much as I want that bitch to understand the meaning of privacy. I probably want her to understand that even more than you!' Is the message you receive in response, but before you were able to process what was sent you get another ping.

'You're intending to get down and dirty with her right?' Was the follow up message.

'Nah, not yet. Gonna teach her a lesson, but want to ease her into it if that makes sense. She's nice and obedient, it shouldn't take it long to reach that point.' Is what you send Celeste as you reach the steps to your dorm building.

'Boring, but for the best. I sort of feel like you've slept around a little too much, too fast already. That reminds me, when are we going to get that bombshell blonde under you again?' Celeste sends to you as you reach the dorm.

Stopping yourself from entering you quickly type up a message, 'Eh, I just enjoy different approaches for different people. Also, there's no such thing as too much or too fast. As for Miss 'Inventor' we'll see.'

Opening the dorm door you enter your den at last. Walking through the dorm with determination you only take a brief pause to wave at Celeste sitting in a chair as she was checking her phone. She waves back after finishing reading your last message and putting down her phone.

She had a book in her lap at the time so you'll assume she went back to reading after she exited your sight.

Mikan at this point was as nervous as could be. Since you walked past the living room of your dorm and were walking to the bedroom. No doubt she had put together some nasty thoughts in her head.

Upon reaching the door to your bedroom you turn to give Mikan a look. Shy as can be, Mikan held her clothes tight to her chest. Her expression was a complicated mess of sorrow, arousal, and fear with a bit of that constant self-pity sprinkled in. Basically she was asking for it at this point.

"Problem?" You ask her.

Too afraid to answer with her words, Mikan just shakes her head no.

"Well, come in then…" You invite as you open the door.

Mikan at this point is beginning to pant, it was without question that dirty thoughts were swarming her filthier mind. Oh, if only she knew what was about to happen.

"You can throw your clothes onto the bed." You tell Mikan as she awkwardly stands in the middle of the room.

Turning her head away as her blush overcomes her whole face she gently lets her still somewhat wet clothes down onto the bed. Standing up somewhat straight, Mikan wraps her arms around herself making her seem incredibly vulnerable to you right now…

Damn girl was trying to get you to jump her! You're certain!

"W-What are we… D-Doing A-Akira?" Mikan shyly asks as she bends over a bit. Wait… When did she unbutton the two top buttons to your jacket?

Getting basically a full face of cleavage even with the distance between you two was a little too much for you. It was hard to stop yourself from falling to temptation at this point but you did. With a wavering smirk you say, "Mikan… You didn't think I brought you back to my dorm to do… Less than gentlemanly things to you did you?"

Startled, Mikan flinches backwards as her face pales somewhat all the while she tries to say, "N-No! I-I di-didn't mean to g-give such an impression! I-I just… Uhm! Stop staring at me like that! I really didn't mean to assume-! AAAGH!" Slamming her hands over her mouth Mikan inadvertently reveals the truth.

Pure terror was in her eyes after her slip up.

"It's alright Mikan, I don't judge you." You tell her.

A hopeful gleam enters her eyes as she lowers her hands and uncertainly says, "Y-You don't?"

Closing the distance at slow speed you reach out and grasp Mikan's shoulders as you tell her, "No. I can safely assume that I'm one of very few people that treat you with such kindness. Especially a kindness that goes a bit beyond friendship right? I don't blame you for developing such feelings at all. Even if others would judge you for feeling such a way towards a guy in a relationship…"

"Y-You know… You knew?" Mikan asks, startled.

"It's fine Mikan." You tell her as you see what you believe to be the first ever genuine tears escape Mikan's eyes.

Mikan's stutter at this point has completely vanished as she says, "But… But I'm horrible for feeling that way! I just… You know what I just tried to do! Why don't you hate me? You'd forgive me? You'd really forgive me?"

"Of course I'll forgive you Mikan." You tell her.

Mikan falls to her knees at this point and shouts, "Waaagh! I'm so sorry!"

You let her cry on your floor for a moment, but you got tired of this act even if this time it was the real thing.

"But I have my limits…" You add, with a dark tone.

"H-H-Huh?" Mikan asks in between sobs, her stutter returning.

"I don't blame you for making the mistake of giving out private information of mine due to stressful circumstances and peer pressure. I do, however, take great exception to your constant lying." You explain, kneeling to look Mikan in the eye as you speak.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I-I'll do whatever to e-earn your f-forgiveness! I'll let you p-pull my h-hair! O-Or see me n-naked! I-I-If you wanted I'd… I-I'd give my w-whole b-body to you!" She hurriedly exclaimed, looking incredibly desperate.

Rising up from your position you look down on Mikan while saying menacingly, "For one you can't give what I already own. Secondly words are meaningless, especially from a liar. I'll need to see action. Stand up."

Mikan rises to her feet as fast as she can.

Sitting on your bed you slap your leg as you say, "Now, lay your stomach over my knee."

Mikan's blush returns in full force as she does as you ask.

"N-Now what?" Mikan asks from her awkward position.

"Agh!" She lets out upon your hand contacting with her supple behind.

"No panties?" You ask bemused as you dig your index and middle finger in between her pussy lips.

With some shame Mikan explains, "T-They were t-too wet to keep on… So I-I-I took th-them off with th-the r-rest of my clothes."

Lowering your head to mere centimeters away from Mikan, "Oh is that so? Why were they wet?"

"I-I don't w-want t-to s-saAAAGH!" Mikan shouts as you smacked her ass again.

"C'mon, there's nothing to be ashamed of…" You coo into her ear.

Mikan hums uncomfortably before admitting, "I-I-I… Got a-a-aroused… Y-Y-You probably think I-I'm d-dirty d-don't you? Wh-What kind of a g-g-girl gets aroused i-i-in a situation like that?"

"So this doesn't arouse you? Nevermind that, I have a different question for you… Are you an exhibitionist?" You ask teasingly as you rub your hand across Mikan's right butt cheek.

Mikan turns her head away from you as she lets out another uncomfortable hum, "Hmmm-... Agh!" You of course smack her for the insolence. Three times a row at that. One for each cheek… The third one was for her asshole.

"I'm not! I swear I'm not!" Mikan cries out due to the spanking.

Chuckling at the shouting, you then ask, "Then why do you intentionally get yourself into those situations? I mean the ones where you 'trip'. Don't even pretend those 'accidents' of yours are actually accidents."

Instead of coming up with a response Mikan noncommittally makes unnecessary noises to stall for time, "I… Ugh… Hmmm-... Aagh~!" You of course reward her with a slap for each of her cheeks.

"I'm not! I… I just like attention! I hate it when people ignore me! Hiyoko always had it right, I admit it!" She cries in your lap.

"How is that not exhibitionism? You also offered to show me your nude body earlier?" You brought up.

"I don't like others seeing me naked…" Mikan says, as she averts her eyes.

"Oh just me, then?" You say with a wide smile.

Mikan then surprisingly admits, "Y-Yes…"

"Alright then, I'm gonna give you the rest of your spanking now. We have forty four to go, not counting the one time I slapped your asshole." You cheerily say in response.

"H-Huh? Yo-You were counting? Forty four!" Mikan cries out upon hearing that little detail.

"Of course, this is your punishment for lying! Not gonna stop until this wonderful ass of yours is red!" You confirm.

"S-Somebody h-help…" Mikan whispers to herself.

With a menacing cackle you inform the girl on your lap, "Oh Mikan… If you didn't want to become prey for a predator… Don't walk into the Lion's den… Now, this is number seven!"

"Agh!"

"Eight!" You shout, pleased.

"Agh!" Mikan cries out, her butt already showing some red.

"Nine~! Ha! Ten~!" You laugh as you give a quick spank to each cheek.

"Agh! I'm sorry for lying! Agh~!" Moans out the Ultimate Nurse, you know… If you didn't know better, you'd think she was enjoying this…

Oh yeah she's probably getting very wet from this… Wanting to desperately save your jacket you pull it up somewhat exposing Mikan's backside entirely. You think it's probably too late but at least you have a better view.

Hmm… A stray thought took over your mind as you stared at Mikan's behind. Without a word of warning you force Mikan to spread her legs wide causing the girl to yelp, "Eep!" She began shaking at this action probably thinking you were going way farther than you intended today.

It wasn't for any reason in particular just for aesthetic purposes as it made Mikan's ass shine all the more with her legs spread like this.

You then distract her by saying, "Since we're now at double digits I'm only going to count it if I gave both your cheeks a good smack. Have to make sure the lesson is drilled deep into your subconscious you know!"

"Eh? What! That's not fifty!" Mikan shouted in equal shame and terror.

"I'm starting now!" You say in a sing-songy tone of voice.

Mikan tried waving her hands to get your attention as she cried out, "Wait I need to prepare myse-! Agh! Ow! Ugh! Stop! Please! Noooo~! Forgive me!" However you had already renewed her spanking.

All the while you were whispering to yourself, "Eleven… Twelve… Thirteen!"

Not stopping in your assault you then bring up, "You say forgive me a lot. Fourteen. It's kind of annoying, spice it up every once in a while, oh and fifteen!"

You give her a slight break so she can respond. In between breaths Mikan says, "Ah, I'm sorry, I'll try to be less repetitive! Ow! Ow!"

Both her cheeks were a nice shine of red by now as you call out, "Sixteen!" Though they could be redder.

Yet as you were about to count to seventeen you hear the door pushed open as Celeste stands in the doorway… Uh oh. "I didn't bother you did I?" You say nervously. Mikan had briefly stilled in your lap due to the noise but now she was shaking like a leaf upon realizing that it was Celeste.

Sighing to herself your girlfriend says, "You couldn't possibly be louder, and you didn't shut the door. Though I doubt I'd be able to focus on reading knowing what you were doing in-…" Celeste takes a sudden pause mid sentence as she stares at Mikan.

"What?" You ask Celeste, not paying any mind to the girl in your lap.

"Pardon me, I don't recall seeing Tsumiki wearing your jacket when you two came inside… Akira, explain?" Celeste asks with a grimace.

"Seriously? That's what you get jealous of?" You complain.

Celeste then chides you by saying, "Oh, forgive me for wanting my boyfriend to do something romantic like giving me his jacket when I'm cold..."

"Are you cold right now?" You ask with narrowed eyes and an annoyed expression.

"Well, no. But it's the principle of the matter that you rarely do romantic things like that for me." Celeste says matter of factly. You really can't believe this is a conversation you're having with your girlfriend while another girl is bent over you getting spanked.

"Okay, one, how is that romantic? Besides I only gave my jacket to her because she poured some liquid all over her dress and it still hasn't dried yet. There's literally no romantic subtones to that at all." Is how you explain your actions. However, that seems to be the wrong choice as now both girls are looking at you like you grew a second head.

Not wasting any time you follow up your previous statement with, "Neither of you better start with me. I'm standing by what I said, that was out of convenience and some small kindness, it was not romantic at all."

"Some would say small kindnesses are the foundation of romance." Celeste wistfully says, Mikan nods wildly at that statement.

"I just said don't start with me!" You shout with a raised fist.

An awkward silence ensues.

Mikan sneezes cutely.

The silence continues.

"Anyway, are you gonna help me punish this stupid girl?" You ask out of the blue.

"Of course." Celeste says instantly.

"Great." You say back.

A lot of spanking later

"Forty nine…" Celeste lets out with a yawn as she removes her dainty hand away from Mikan's shapely behind.

Every time you counted 'ten spankings' you had increased the amount of times you had to slap Mikan's ass to get you to count 'a spanking' by one. So yeah five slaps left. At thirty the Ultimate Nurse had burst into actual tears over the punishment. By then it stopped being pleasurable for her and now it just straight up hurt.

Yep, you've left her ass very tender!

"Here it comes Mikan! Your last set, you should be happy!" You say jubilantly.

Celeste waves off your enthusiasm as she says, "You can handle this. Honestly, I think I may have hurt my poor hand with the amount of spanking you had me do."

Nodding at that you raise your hand up causing a final whimper to escape Mikan's throat. That whimper quickly changes to a yelp in some indecipherable tongue as you bring your hand down. Whatever she was saying was probably along the lines of 'thank god' or 'I'm so glad that Akira's touching me' or some other such. At least it better be.

A few more hearty whacks and Mikan's ass had been thoroughly spanked!

"And fifty! See it wasn't so bad!" You tell a broken Mikan Tsumiki, apparently lying about the fact it was far more than fifty.

Falling off your lap and breathing a little too quickly for your liking Mikan just lays on the ground for several minutes straight. She did literally nothing but lie there. Like she didn't even blink or anything, just breathing and staying splayed over the floor.

Her vacant gaze was a slight concern but a hundred fifty spankings shouldn't have done this… You aren't that strong… But maybe… Just maybe you're the Ultimate BDSM artist and just never knew.

Your hand does feel a bit sore from all that spanking though.

"I think you broke her…" Celeste huffed.

"Nah, she's just… Taking a break…" You say, though you were uncertain in your own words.

Then Mikan's chest stopped rising and falling, for like a minute. Both of you pale at that.

Celeste, rather panicked, makes the observation that, "Akira, I think you killed her."

Also panicking, but internally, you respond with, "Nah, she's just… Taking a really deep breath..."

"Akira, she's going blue in the face." Celeste points out.

Alright, now that's cause for concern. You rush to Mikan's side, kneeling, prepared to do CPR if need be… And then-...

"Agh fuck!" You shout as Mikan sits up in an instant bonking her head into yours.

Mikan groans as she falls back to the floor clutching her head, and then says something really concerning, "I've seen the light…"

Rubbing your lightly injured head you stand up seeing as Mikan was apparently now fine. Minus the fact you probably just gave her a spanking-related-trauma. Celeste meanwhile seems to be completely done with the situation as she is shaking her head at the ridiculous antics you just went through.

Mikan, realizing what just happened, gets on her hands and knees in a deep bow as she cries out, "I'm sorry for the trouble!"

You then point out, "You can't just replace your repetitive use of 'forgive me' with 'I'm sorry'..."

"Is this really the time for this?" Celeste asks exasperated.

Mikan keeps in a deep bow as her muffled voice says, "You're so right Akira! I'll do better, I swear!"

Celeste, always being such a reasonable figure says, "You could just stop putting yourself in situations where people need to forgive you in the first place." Sound logic… If Mikan was a normal person, which she is not. She is an Ultimate.

This is literally part of her charm.

"Hey, Mikan! Never stop apologizing!" You tell her teasingly, most likely going contrary to some stuff you've said to her in the past.

Mikan doesn't leave her position even as her muffled voice gets harder to hear, "You're so right Akira! I'll apologize more in the future."

"Ugh!" Celeste bemoans as she clenches her eyes shut and pinches the bridge of her nose.

Alright, enough fun and games for now, time to move on. You call out to Mikan, "Alright, enough games. Stand up." Those last words of yours were dark and commanding in tone.

Which of course Mikan was quick to listen to. The girl had a big dumb smile on her face that she was desperately trying to fight down. Honestly considering her somehow near death experience and the fact you doubt she'll be able to sit down for the rest of the day… It was impressive that she could smile.

Taking your phone out of your pocket, and say, "Alright, what I'll need from you next Mikan to ensure that you are actually seeking forgiveness is… I need you to take my jacket off and show me your body." Mikan's smile dies an ugly death as she glances over at Celeste, clearly uncomfortable…

Oh yeah, that whole she only likes it if you see her naked thing…

Shouldn't she have gotten over this considering what Celeste saw while she was getting spanked…

Whatever… You'll just have to get her to realize her place.

You try to appeal to her obsession with you by saying, "Get over yourself Mikan. You had to realize if you wanted a piece of me you'd either need me to give up Celeste or accept that you're not my sole admirer… Since I'm not doing the former… Shouldn't you be happy I'm willing to forgive you?" Mikan curls up on herself at your words.

"B-B-But…" The Ultimate Nurse tries to say.

But you pressed the advantage, "But what? You love me right? Or at least have feelings for me? If you want reciprocation you have to understand I place Celeste first in my heart. If you want a top spot in my greedy little heart, you shouldn't be so hesitant to please us both." Celeste smirks at that.

"I…" The timid girl's face was uncertain.

Though uncertain, she would take decisive action.

Your jacket finds itself falling to the floor. As she demurely covered her large breasts and vagina with her arms, you could say for certain that Mikan Tsumiki was truly a lascivious sight.

What curves! Hidden underneath her usual choice of clothing was truly a body worth appreciating. Sizeable breasts that weren't too huge, a slim waist with wide hips striking a wonderful figure, and of course her shy concealment of it all made it even more appealing.

"D-Do… D-D-D-Do y-you need to see…" Mikan tried to say.

Understanding what she was getting at you nod and watch as the Ultimate Nurse reveals her nipples and pussy to you. With multiple gazes on her nude body you could tell she was quickly getting stressed out. With seemingly no regard to that fact you raise your phone and take a picture.

"H-H-Huh?" The timid nurse lets out as she finally realizes what you had wanted.

"A-A-Akira! Please don't share that!" She shouts out not long after.

With a callous demeanor you level your phone out and say, "It's just for my pleasure Mikan… Actually, could you do a pose or something? This picture is cute and all but I think we can do better."

The second you said 'my pleasure' Mikan's demeanor completely shifted.

In fact her face takes up a strange expression at your words. Her smile becomes wobbly as she says, "I-I-If you j-j-just wa-wanted some pictures… I-I coul… I could provide some…"

"Oh?" You were honestly surprised.

Not trusting her voice the girl nods. This revelation leads you to saying, "Well, I appreciate it. However, there's just something about taking them yourself that makes this all the more appealing."

Mikan suddenly seems a lot more comfortable with your actions.

"O-Okay… What k-kind of pose d-did you want from me?" Mikan asks with a strange quiver to her voice, it wasn't her chronic shyness that's for sure.

Hmm… Considering her willingness… Should you push your luck?

Mikan, hands on your legs. I want you to stare directly into the camera." The shy nurse nods with a bit of hesitation as she does what you ask.

Mikan took her time as she lowered herself to the ground, placing her knees firmly together; it was impossible to see the nurse's pussy. She had a servile gaze as she looked into the camera leading you to saying, "You know Mikan… I think this position fits you best." You could make out Celeste quietly chuckling to herself beside you.

A faint red appears on the timid Ultimate's face as you take the picture. You take a few more because the girl kept blinking just as you went to take it.

"Get up for now, spread your legs." You command.

Mikan's face gets even redder as you say that. "Spread my legs?" She asked as she stood up. Unfortunately you noticed that Mikan kept her pussy hidden with her left hand as she did spread her legs.

"Hands behind your head Mikan." You tell her so that it's clear what you want from her.

"B-B-But…" She stutters out.

However, you left no room for argument, "Now."

Mikan acquiesces as her hands sluggishly make their way behind her head, the girl turned her head away in embarrassment. "Look at me, and puff out your chest a bit, your breasts should be the focus." You tell her.

A whimper escapes her throat, but you pay it no mind.

You take the picture as soon as she follows your instructions, but there was something off with the picture. "Actually turn your head away like you had it earlier, keep your hands where they are though." You order her.

Mikan was a good girl so she does what you say and cutely tells you, "O-Okay…"

Now that's a good picture.

Alright, last one.

"You know what a dogeza is?" You ask idly.

Then a thud is heard and… She's already performing it. Good girl indeed.

"Such an obedient girl, eh, Celeste?" You ask your as of now idle lover.

Looking at her, you watch intently as she nods and says, "Indeed, I can guess I can forgive her for her loose lips." That was surprising to hear.

Chuckling at those words you ask your partner in crime, "Hey, Celeste, can you go and step on her head for me?" Celeste gives you an odd look at your question before sighing and making her way over to the girl.

Mikan's reaction was a bit more dramatic. Raising her head with a humiliated and terrified expression she strangely protests with, "A-A-Akira that isn't necessary!"

With a bit more force than intended you grimly state, "I decide what is necessary, head against the floor now!"

"Eep!" Mikan yelps as she practically slams her face into the ground.

"Now, now Akira… No need to be so cruel. With such an obedient specimen we should reward her every once and a while." Celeste says with an 'understanding' tone as she shrugs her shoulders.

Placing her heel against Mikan's head as the girl whimpers, Celeste raises her skirt with both her hands, showing her panties. She then follows up her previous statement with, "Some protest on occasion can even be more enticing, no? No need to be so rude…"

"Now come on, take your picture…" Celeste says enticingly.

"Don't mind if I do." You say with an evil smirk.

The last picture only needed one shot to get right.

You make your approach as soon as Celeste takes her foot off the Ultimate Nurse's head. For whatever reason the girl would not remove her face from the floor and was shaking like a leaf. As you got closer you could hear Mikan saying something under her breath…

Her usual line of, "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" Or something along those lines.

You probably shouldn't have yelled at her like that.

Sighing, you kneel down to lift Mikan's head by her chin. However, she resisted your attempts which makes you feel sort of bad. Not really, but it made you aware enough that you crossed a line.

So you tell her with a gentle voice, "Hey… Sorry I got upset with you. I shouldn't have talked to you like that… C'mon look at me."

Your words got her to raise her head thankfully, but she looked distraught.

"I'm s-s-sorry… I-I'll d-do what y-you want… Jus… Just don't yell at meee…" Mikan blathers out in tears as her head rests in your hand.

Yep crossed a line… Oh well, it's salvageable.

After all, you can give her some comfort, with a little blessing in hand.

You feel an orb demanding respect fly down your arm and onto Mikan. With these three commands you grant her a blessing; the blessing was to follow Mikan always, it was to do its best to defend Mikan from harm, and it must command absolute respect from the girl.

As the blessing begins to take hold and effect you tell her, "No need to apologize any more alright? I'll take care of you." Mikan's eyes widen at your soft delivery.

Moments later you are being held in a tight embrace by the timid nurse as she cries into your shoulder. Celeste sort of ruins the moment by huffing at the action, but it didn't seem like Mikan noticed.

You had considered if today would be the day to take Mikan for a wild ride…

Ultimately you came to conclusion that it's not the right time for it.

Maybe later today if you feel so inclined, but unlikely.

Irregardless you have a wonderful new piece to your collection. It was a bit dull and repetitive to look at sometimes. Yet to say it was anything other than an excellent addition would be the height of folly.

Mikan Tsumiki is perfect the way she is.

You don't even need to mold her to fit your needs, she already serves her purpose.

To help seal the deal you offer her, "You can stay for a while if you want, let your clothes dry and all that. We do have about thirty minutes before class."

Mikan chokes one her own sobs as she weakly says, "I… I-I'd like that."

Time would pass and soon class would be in session.

The rest of time spent in your dorm was far calmer than you expected. Mikan and Celeste were generally quiet while you had been busy browsing the internet. You did notice that Mikan seemed far more comfortable even as she sat next to you naked, as she was fumbling over her words less.

Which while important enough for you to jot down in your head, did not change the fact that it was uneventful.

Celeste kept to herself with her reading, and Mikan was satisfied with just sitting next to you. So not much conversation was to be had outside of a brief talk with Mikan. She had asked what you were doing after all, and Mikan was nice enough that you didn't want her to be left guessing.

Of course you were trying to investigate the case you had gotten involved in. After all, if you were going to get shot because of it, you'd rather have a good idea of what was going on.

Obviously you didn't tell Mikan you were doing that. It was easy to convince her you were just looking into recent events and got stuck on a headline. She ate it up and you weren't technically lying to her.

You didn't find much though, perhaps you were looking in the wrong places, but all you could find out about was this 'Bohm' murder. Some foreign ambassador from Germany, apparently she was hunted down like a dog by the guy who shot you.

There was not much to work with beyond that…

Well Kyoko should be the one handling the investigation, you guess. Ultimate Detective and what not.

However, you will certainly be obtaining whatever information she has at your earliest convenience. Your inability to find information through this method will not stop you from finding out more!

It also didn't help you barely had twenty minutes to look through the web about it, but eh… Who cares?

It was not much longer until the remaining time passed and the three of you abandoned your dorm—after Mikan got dressed of course. Heading to class you can only wonder how the day is going to go from here…

As you arrived at class you had expected to be bombarded with questions from the few classmates that hadn't already asked if you were okay. Instead all that happened was that you found yourself being pulled to the side by your teacher. "You all good?" He had asked, you nodded, and that had been that.

Honestly it was refreshing.

Nobody bothered you as you took your seat between Kirigiri and Enoshima, and not long after class began. You paid good attention to your teacher's prattling as you had the previous times you had come to class.

A simple affair really… Considering it lasted all of ten minutes.

Well, that wasn't entirely honest, class was still ongoing of course. It's just that you were no longer in the classroom. You see it happened like this! Kizakura was mouthing off about the importance of making use of the various Hope's Peaks facilities and honestly you were beginning to think he just wanted to convince everyone to not come to class.

Which at this point, not everyone was coming to class.

It was just you, Celeste, Kyoko, Naegi, Ishimaru, Enoshima, Mukuro, and Chihiro as of the sixth day of school. Everyone else was missing. You were beginning to consider skipping class from then on to spare yourself the trouble.

However, you could not expect what would come next… Midway through rambling on about the same shit he went over from last time the classroom door was busted open, and a new person revealed themself… Herself…

Your teacher looked a second away from shitting himself as a woman's voice that was as smooth as honey said, "Ah, Kizakura! Good to see you appear to be taking class seriously!" The voice came from a ginger haired woman that was well endowed and certainly catching your eye. She was dressed oddly in your opinion, perhaps old fashioned was a better word?

The dress certainly made her stand out is the best way you can put it.

"O-Of course Yukizome!" He said rather loudly as he flinched away from the woman and began rubbing the back of his head.

As he said that the strange woman then briefly sniffed the air, and after a second or two of being utterly bizarre she excitedly says, "At least you took my advice about drinking in the classroom!" Her voice was sickeningly sweet as she walked into the class and up to Kizakura.

"E-Eh?" The older man stuttered as he took a step back from Yukizome's advance.

"Now how many times do I have to teach you all this lesson~..." She kept making her way forward.

Your teacher at this point looked like he wanted to be anywhere but here. Unfortunately for him, this was prime entertainment so instead of easing the tension like you probably should have… You leaned in interest at what was going down.

Standing directly in front of the man she suddenly picked up the lanky drunk by his collar and began shaking him as she yelled frantically, "You can't half-ass educating these kids! How long until that gets through your thick- headed drunk-addled flipping sku-!"

Unfortunately good things never last as the crazy woman was pulled off your teacher by Mahiru and Sakura of all people… Where did they come from?

"Haha sorry about that!" Mahiru waved awkwardly as she pulled off her raving teacher with the assistance of Sakura. Though it was obvious the Ultimate Martial Artist was doing most of the heavy lifting.

So yeah, that was the start of a really odd day. Hopefully to become the norm.

Several Minutes after Kizakura got throttled

"Come along children!" The gentle voice of Chisa Yukizome came from ahead. So yeah after that whole shebang you started putting the pieces together.

Chisa was introduced as Class-77 A's homeroom teacher, by Mahiru, and then she took charge of your class. Not to say she neglected to drag Kizakura along. As of now the man looked absolutely miserable.

She had gathered most of your class along with all of hers to try and 'instill proper teacher etiquette' into your drunkard of a 'teacher'. Yeah somehow you didn't notice all of your upperclassmen gathered at the door along with Sakura and Aoi…

Admittedly you were a bit too busy watching Kizakura get manhandled by a woman.

Mikan and Ibuki had joined your side the second you exited the classroom along with Celeste. You also caught Kyoko trying to insert herself as well, which really surprised you. However, she quickly gave up on that idea and just stuck to the back of the group of students.

Oddly enough you couldn't spy Chiaki amongst her classmates… You were certain she was alright though.

From what you gathered Miss Yukizome planned to gather everyone else from your class then do some 'class activities' together with her class. You didn't really know how to feel about all this, but it could be fun. Yukizome seems like a lively woman after all.

Right now you were heading to the school dorms and would soon arrive.

The second you had met the steps of the girl's side of the dorms Yukizome began excitedly yelling, "Alright so first naughty student first, a Miss Fukawa!" She then began ascending the stairs rapidly with Kizakura being pulled along by his collar.

It was still odd to watch a grown man get pulled around like that. Not that you were focused on Kizakura's embarrassment as you were busy listening to a short blonde guy ask, "Does she really expect us to follow her up those stairs with this many people?"

Mahiru sighed as she responded to his question with, "It is Miss Yukizome…"

"Whatever, I'm waiting down here, if you want to get crowded up there… Be my guest." The shorter boy said as he wandered off.

Walking up front you say, "Knowing Toko it's probably best to not swarm her with a bunch of people, so I'll go help Miss Yukizome get her out of her dorm." Most of the students took this as an excuse to not go along but you quickly realized Mikan was following you despite what you said.

She was not alone either as Sakura too came along with the reasoning, "In case my strength is needed I shall follow." Which was fair enough but you doubted she would really be necessary.

Considering Kizakura had been dragged up the stairs by Chisa, that meant that was already five people… So then why did Mahiru have to join in as well?

Giving her an odd look you watch as Mahiru scratches the back of her head then says, "Miss Yukizome is a bit intimidating at times so I just want to make sure that poor girl isn't being frightened by my teacher." Again fair enough.

But could Mikan at least go back downstairs! There's too many people up here considering Toko's temperament! Not to mention one mess of a person attached to your hip is already a bit too much! Toko was definitely not going to help in that regard!

Climbing the steps with the three girls in tow you make it to the floor where Yukizome was pounding on a door with a sing-song tone in her voice, "Naughty girl~! It's time to learn!"

Phrasing…

You of course ask the necessary question at this point, "Miss Yukizome, are you certain that is Toko's dorm?" It didn't help that you definitely didn't know which one was hers.

"Of course! I know where all you rotten oranges are at all times!" She says happily looking directly into your eyes with a deranged smile as she keeps knocking on the door. You tried to pretend she was being hyperbolic.

With a twitch in her eyes she turns her full attention to the door as her grip on a frankly terrified Kizakura to slam on the door with her other hand as she yelled, "You do know I have a key right! I'm just trying to be nice, you know!" Wait what?

That's when Toko's voice came from the other side of the door as she bitterly said, "I-I-I'm not stupid… T-That would b-be a privacy violation i-i-if you did…" Double what?

Staring at Yukizome weirdly you are relieved to hear her say, "Darn, I expected that to work." As she bemoaned that fact she immediately went into a thinking pose.

Finally, not being dragged around like a ragdoll. Kizakura tries to collect himself by dusting off his clothes. That is before Chisa's left hand slams down on his shoulder as she asks, "Kizakura, do you think I could climb up to the bedroom window and get in that way?"

"Chisa? What the hell?" The man plainly asks with a exasperated expression.

Feeling sweat pour down your forehead, you cut in and say, "Miss Yukizome, that won't be necessary." The teacher looks at you oddly after you say that.

To prove your point swiftly you walk up, knock on the door, and say, "Toko could you come out please?" Now you expected she'd come out all shy like.

What you did not expect was for Toko to throw the door open and tackle you into a bear hug as she yelled, "Master!" Her noodly arms had a surprising amount of strength so you'd definitely need some help getting the girl that was currently nuzzling her head into your chest off.

Then you realized what she said. Then you realized you were not alone.

Yukizome is ultimately what made you feel some shame as she said, "Our students' weird fetishes aside, onto a Miss Maizono!" She immediately began walking off with a blush on her face and an awkward quiver to her smile.

Kizakura was giving you an approving stare while Sakura was looking at you with a raised brow. Mikan immediately began glaring at Toko with evident hate and yet that was somehow not the worst reaction…

Mahiru's was. The redhead was glaring down at you like you were the scum of the earth, and you'd probably die if glaring at people could do harm.

You definitely just lost some points with her due to Toko…

Raising your hands up defensively you say, "I would try to explain, but I don't think you're in the mood to believe me nor is it really consequential. Toko's just a weirdo."

That gets Mahiru to glare at you even harder, mostly due to the very noticeable shiver of pleasure Toko had upon hearing that. Mikan on the other hand looks satisfied with that response, not able to tell you weren't being entirely honest.

It didn't take much longer from that point for Mahiru to break her glare and look away awkwardly to say, "Let's… Let's just go." You were more than happy to abide this request.

So onwards, to grab the rest of your class.

Now for the next Ten Paragraphs, here is Chisa Yukizome, being an absolute menace to children

Sayaka had been next and easily joined. Apparently she was just busy working out details with her bandmates in regards to a new single they were hoping to release this month. It wasn't all that important and was the least crazy way a student had been forced to join.

After the Ultimate Idol was the Ultimate Baseball Star and you have to admit watching Leon try to put the moves on Chisa was fucking hilarious. Oh you couldn't hear what he said unfortunately, as you were too far away.

To explain what was happening, Chisa had decided to go and grab him by herself while she had Kizakura handle getting 'Mister Owada' with everyone else. You didn't follow your teacher and the rest of the class though…

Getting to watch from afar as the Ultimate Dyejob tries to hit on a teacher was an opportunity too good to pass up. You knew it was going to be worth it, but for it to be this good?

Especially with the way Leon had to be chased around by Chisa once he realized he fucked up and tried to escape the situation? Or with how he got a good bonk on the head from Yukizome and knocked the fuck out for his trouble? Honestly this was peak entertainment! What a loser! Ha!

You met up with Yukizome halfway after she threw the guy over her shoulder and led her to the rest of your class. Owada was apparently being difficult—he was in the middle of working out or something—but after a stern talking to from Chisa he had joined the slowly evening out pair of classes.

Hagakure was next and was approached by Naegi first as he stumbled onto him before Chisa could find him. He tried to sell Naegi his fortune telling then immediately got hounded by both classes for his pretty scummy behavior.

Then he broke his balls… His crystal ones! The condemnation spooked the shit out of him and made him toss his ball several meters into the air! Luckily it only hit Naegi!

So now Yukizome was carrying two young men around like knapsacks!

At that point instead of going after Chiaki and Togami she led both classes out to the back of the school, plopped the two unconscious boys onto the field and ran off. She said she'd be right back but you weren't certain about the truth of that statement.

Now Kizakura was looking over about thirty young adults with no direction, all the while being told they were supposed to be doing 'activities'. He gave up on the first step of course and told everyone to do what they want. Which was all good in your opinion considering you needed to speak with a certain someone…

You wandered away from the group that had formed around you of Mahiru, Mikan, Hiyoko, Ibuki, Celeste, and Toko. Of course to speak with Kyoko, some things needed to be figured out and you really wanted to get something else out of the way.

Now back to your regularly scheduled Akira gaslighting Kyoko Kirigiri

"Come with me for a moment, I need to talk to you." You say as you walk past the lavender haired detective. She's quick to catch on and follows behind you without any query on why. Good, she could tell you were serious.

Getting a fair enough distance away from the rest of the class and putting line of sight into question you get to the heart of the matter, "So, I just wanted to get this out of the way, but…" At least you tried to, however you noticed that Kyoko was on her last legs—her legs were literally shaking—as she yawned.

"Did you get any sleep?" You ask with a harrumph, honestly surprised.

"No… No I haven't…" She admits with eyes half open.

Crossing your arms in frustration you sigh and say, "Write this down then, I don't want to have this discussion again just because you weren't on your A-game while talking with me." She obliges your request and pulls out an actual notepad and pen from her jacket.

"Okay, at least you're always prepared…" You say your thoughts aloud, not intending to.

Kyoko shrugs at that and waits for you to speak, after an awkward pause you did of course speak your mind, "Alright, if we're going to be working together on your case I'm gonna need to know what's going on. All I know is that a woman named Elfriede Bohm is dead and apparently there was another murder according to you."

Once you ensure she was writing stuff down you then add, "So if you could provide me with all the relevant details for the purposes of us both knowing what's going on that would be great."

While you have no idea what she actually wrote down, you had faith she wasn't dumb enough to put down anything she wouldn't understand to pen and paper.

"Is that all?" She asks with another yawn as she puts away the notepad and pen.

"No, sit down or something. Your legs are wobbling." You commanded.

Kyoko's eyes widen a bit as she lets out a, "What-?" Not giving her a chance to protest you put both your hands firmly on her shoulders and force her to sit on her bum.

"Is this really necessary?" She asks with an annoyed tone.

"You look like you're on death's door, of course it is." You explain.

Sighing to herself Kyoko scoots on over to a nearby tree as she asks with an exasperated voice, "Happy?"

"Do you feel any less tired?" You ask unseriously.

"No." She plainly says as she raises her knee and crosses her arms

"Then that's your answer." You add in response.

It was at this point you walked over to her and sat right next to the Ultimate Detective prompting an odd look from the girl. "What are you doing?" She asks, her usual way of speaking basically gone at this point.

Shaking your head at her you tell her, "Providing you some company, relax. You should've taken a nap before class, or done anything to alleviate the lack of sleep. What's wrong with you?" Instead of answering you with her words she shakes her head before resting her head against the bark of the tree.

Two minutes pass in silence. You two were facing away from the school, though the spot you had picked was on the field, you could make out the pool from the corner of your eye. Looking past it you stare at the city of Tokyo with serenity, just enjoying the quiet.

"Too much." Is what Kyoko softly says as she catches your attention once more. Turning to look at her you notice that Kyoko had passed out as she said that. Finally.

A blessing appears in your hand as you toss it onto Kyoko, you didn't do it as gracefully or dramatically like you had with Mikan though. Kyoko hasn't necessitated such treatment yet. Maybe this blessing of Loyalty will be what she needs to get off your shit list…

As you sit beside Kyoko quietly enjoying the peace of almost total solitude you wonder how long it would last.

Unfortunately as usual jinxing yourself proves to be a real phenomena as you hear Chisa shout from some distance away, "Alright everybody! Time for some class bonding!"

Groaning to yourself for daring to think about how you were enjoying some peace and quiet, you rise from the grass. Dusting yourself off you wonder how you should handle Kyoko.

Thankfully that's solved for you as a ginger haired teacher startles you by coming up from behind and saying, "Asleep, huh? Now's not the time for naps but bonding between upper and lower classmen!" You could only look at her in complete wonder… How did she make it all the way over here?

Well, considering she's here now… You did all you could do!

Going to wander off quietly Miss Yukizome notices and says, "Where do you think you're wandering off to?" Her voice was cheerful, but there was a menacing quality to it.

"To join the rest of the class!" You quickly say in response, a bit too loudly for your liking.

Daring to turn around to see the woman you catch her smiling enthusiastically as she takes a pose and raises a thumbs up while saying, "Good answer! Go join your classmates while I get this sleepyhead up and at em!"

Not needing to be told twice you jog on over to the rest of your class. You notice along the way the two classes had been separated into two groups and that Chiaki as well as Togami were now amongst your number… Guess Chisa was grabbing those two after all.

As you join Celeste's side you hear her whisper to you, "You really ran off to talk with her?" Obviously referring to Kyoko.

"Celeste I was getting something done, don't worry about it!" You hiss in response not really liking the attitude. Your girlfriend grumbles to herself but leaves it at that.

It doesn't take much longer for Chisa to walk over to the two classes with an exhausted Kyoko in tow, she at least seemed a bit refreshed now. As Kyoko joined your class the ginger haired woman quickly got to work!

You didn't really focus on what she wad doing until she pulled Kizakura in front of both classes with a bucket in each of their hands. The man looked like he didn't even want to be in the same country as the woman next to him.

Waving to the two classes Chisa finally gets to the point of all this, "All right kids! I have a bucket full of names right here and when I call out your name come over to Kizakura here and pull a piece of paper from his bucket! On it will be a number, whichever number you get you shall go to the square I just drew up with the corresponding number!"

Huh? Looking past Yukizome and Kizakura you notice that the grass had been painted white until it sectioned off eight boxes each with a number in them… When did she do tha-?

"First up, Makoto Naegi! Come up and pull your number!" Chisa exclaimed, interrupting your thought process.

The timid guy looked around wildly as if there was anyone else named 'Makoto Naegi' on the field. Upon realizing he had been called on, he followed instructions and pulled out a number from Kizakura's bucket. He then walked over to the spot with number seven plastered on it.

Okay is nobody going to ask how and when Chisa did all tha-?

"Nagito, come on up!" The female teacher calls out.

Guess not.

The pale-haired lanky guy walked up and pulled a one. He seemed happy with the result, for whatever reason. After him a Fuyuhiko was called up and after pulling his paper he got two. Then, "Akira Furuya! You're next!" Then you were called on.

Walking up and pulling out your paper you got four.

Obviously no longer feeling in the mood to ask questions, you just walk into the box labeled four and wait for the rest of the class to get sorted. After you was Maizono and she got a number seven just like Makoto, then after her was Fujisaki who got a five.

Getting tired of trying to count who was getting who you just waited until everyone was in their pairs.

So after several minutes of sorting the groupings were made. Considering there was thirty one people present and eight boxes, everyone but one group had a group of three.. They went like this.

Nagito, Junko, and Teruteru were group one and the unfortunate group of three.

Then Fuyuhiko, Hiyoko, Owada, and Ishimaru in group two.

Group three was made up of Kazuichi, Aoi, Mikan, and Mahiru.

You, Leon, Ibuki, and somehow Celeste had become group four.

After your group was Fujisaki, Chiaki, Sakura, and Nekomaru who were group five.

They were followed by Peko, Toko, Akane, and Yasuhiro which was group six.

Makoto got grouped with Sayaka, Mukuro, and Kyoko as group seven.

Lastly was… There's two Togami's? How did you not notice that fat tub of lard earlier? Okay somehow there were two Togami's in group eight… The other two members being Sonia and Gundham. You really don't know how to process the second Togami thing now that you're seeing it.

So yeah… All that and you still have no idea what's going on.

Thankfully Leon was there to voice everyone's confusion as he raised his hand and asked, "So uh… What was that all for exactly?"

Chisa very excitedly responded with, "Class bonding!" She said that while doing a peace sign, an irrelevant detail but it made you cringe a bit.

Nobody knew how to respond.

Tossing the bucket aside and clasping her hands behind her back Chisa bends over with a wink and says, "All right everyone, I have a few events planned for us! Kizakura, if you would!"

Being caught slacking, Kizakura hastily tosses aside the bucket he was carrying as he pulls out a piece of paper and reads out, "U-Umm yes… So first off, an athletics tournament…? Chisa, what the hel-... Heck is that supposed to mean?"

"I'm glad you asked Kizakura!" Chisa says excitedly, though you have to guess that's her standard way of reacting to things at this point…

"I'm actually asking why, you know…" He said with a deadpan.

Ignoring him, Chisa pulls out a whiteboard… Okay where did she get that from?

That was not there two seconds ago!

You could accept the whole painting the grass thing as you just not noticing but she quite literally pulled that out of nowhere! What the fuck!

Putting aside that utter horse shit you look at what Yukizome was about to explain. On the whiteboard were two sets of tournament brackets, both leading into one another. The numbers one, two, three, and four on one side and on the other were the other four numbers. Over the numbers were the words 'Relay Race'.

Then following the lines to what would be the second bracket on both sides were the words 'Three-legged race'... That was going to be a nightmare you could already tell. Over the empty finals space was the words '1v1 400m' which you assumed meant one on one four hundred meter dash…

Why all this running shit after you just used another blessing god dammit!

Sighing to yourself after surmising all of that in about ten to fifteen seconds you quietly ignore what Chisa was talking about figuring she would just be repeating what you already figured out.

"Why did you label it an athletics tournament if it was just a bunch of races?" Kizakura rightfully asks after Chisa stops yapping.

Tilting her head to the side, the woman then says, "Read the next one Kizakura."

Sighing to himself upon realizing he was not going to get an answer the man then reads out, "Afterwards will be baseball? How are you going to handle that?" You noticed Leon tensing out of the corner of your eye.

Turning the white board to the other side, Chisa says, "Thanks for asking! So we'll have groups one through four as one team and then groups five through eight be on the other team. Though there's an uneven amount of people so you'll join team one alright Kizakura!"

"Yeah, sure… Wait what? Chisa! No!" The man barks annoyed at the woman, but she ignores him.

She instead joyously explains, "After that's done we'll have a cookout! Sound good, everyone?"

This was going to go horribly wrong… And you couldn't be more excited.

So apparently the relay race was going to be four sets of one hundred meter dashes and you already lost hope considering Celeste was on your team… Not that you cared if you won, you were just being dramatic. You could already tell that at most she'd do a light jog. So it was relatively easy to convince Leon and Ibuki to have her and you go first.

Ibuki then 'convinced' Leon to let her go last. By convince you mean loudly proclaiming that she's going last eighteen times in a row until Leon acknowledged that factoid.

However none of that mattered just this second as your group was not going first. Group one and two were, which immediately required attention considering group one had three members not four…

It was decided that instead of four sets of one hundred they'd do three sets of one fifty. Which kind of left group one at a disadvantage considering group two largely seemed somewhat fit.

Unlike Teruteru.

Did you really have to mention group two won? It was quite pathetic.

Teruteru was the one that started off the race and up against Hyoko she had finished the hundred meter sprint before he even made it a third of the way. By the time he made it to Nagito, Hyoko had already passed off to Fuyuhiko who had also passed off to Owada.

Junko got to run all of five meters before Ishimaru crossed the finish line.

You got a bit of a kick out of it, but you were up next so you didn't get to bask in the hilarity of the situation...

Ah well…

The only real big worry is Aoi and it seems like she'll be going last for team three so maybe you guys can win if Celeste decides to put in the effort. Not that you really care, you're mostly looking forward to the race between team five and six anyway…

As the race starts you are made ever grateful that Kazuichi was going first.

Despite his initial confidence he was huffing and puffing by the seventy meter mark, clearly needing to get his cardio in check. He should not be heaving like that with that body! So even though Celeste was barely passing for running she managed to reach you not long after Kazuichi passed to Mikan.

Now… You have only have the tiniest bit of shame in doing this.

But as Mikan began running you noticed that she gave you a brief glance, and in that short time frame you swiftly winked at her. The poor girl then all of a sudden tumbled over herself! Giving Celeste the time to pass off to you!

What a tragedy… But…

Unlike Mikan, you will not hesitate to look back at your opponent.

Instead you dashed forward like you were on a mission. You didn't care about winning, you just wanted to fuck with people. Even with your body bearing the weight of multiple blessings in use, you ran like you were being chased by a horror monster. With your heart beating a mile a minute and not an ounce of leg muscle going to waste!

You cross those one hundred meters in record time all things considered!

Passing onto Leon you take a look back and find that Mikan was flailing about as she followed you from a fair distance. About twenty meters. Pretty good recovery all things considered, you know how long it takes for Mikan to get up after tripping after all.

With a smirk you glance at Mahiru, who was waiting for Mikan to make her way over. The girl had a grimace on her face and then had the balls to say, "What a scummy move… Don't you feel an ounce of shame as a man?"

"Pfft… Yeah no." You say shamelessly. You felt half an ounce of shame after all!

"Ugh… I can't believe I thought you were reliable in the slightest." Mahiru bemoaned as Mikan neared, Leon likely was a fair distance away by now. Though as long as Mahiru got to Aoi in a timely manner their team could still win.

Unless Ibuki was secretly the world's greatest sprinter.

Raising your hands defensively you tell the redhead, "Calm down… You're taking this way too seriously, just enjoy yourself." Her face softens at that, but you had no idea what was going on in her head to extrapolate any meaning.

As Mikan and Mahiru make contact the Ultimate Photographer then grunts out, "I will! Just not at the expense of others!" Then she began running off at full sprint to catch up with Leon.

Chuckling to yourself you turn to Mikan and ask, "Did you feel that was unfair of me to do to you Mikan?"

Suddenly being put on the spot it was surprising that Mikan was capable of not stuttering as she squeaked out, "Of course not!" Your chuckling morphs into a cackle at that!

Clearly you were in the right here!

Thankfully for your team Mahiru did not get to Aoi in time. Leon was able to get to Ibuki in record time and then the Ultimate Musician was off. This is when you found out that Ibuki was unreasonably good at running, or at least sprinting. You wouldn't say she could go up against the Ultimate Runner or something.

Yet she definitely would have given Aoi a tough time if the swimmer had been given the chance.

Your actions completely ensured that was never going to be the case. Aoi didn't even get to run more than five meters before Chisa called out your group's victory. Mahiru was glaring at you from across the field while you smiled innocently at the outcome.

If you had less self control you may have walked over to her and Aoi to start 'subtly' shit talk them both, but you are a gentleman. You can wait until you're off the field to do that. You know, like a gentleman.

Actually… Wait… Turning back around you finally get the chance to take notice of something you thought odd.

Aoi was still not wearing her usual ensemble. She was just wearing a swimmer's leotard and some booty shorts… Did she not have any other clothes? Like no other shirts? Or jackets? Just more shorts? What about bras and panties?

Steeling yourself you turn back around and do your best to not break into another mad cackle.

Joining the rest of the two classes at a pair of stands that overlook the field you expected you'd get the chance to watch the rest of the event in peace. You were wrong.

"M-Master is something w-w-wrong?" Toko asks from your lap, not sensing your discomfort in the slightest. Or maybe she did with how she was subtly rubbing her butt against your dick.

Not that you were letting her get you hard with how brazen she was being.

"You, obviously… Get off him, you're needed elsewhere anyhow." Celeste asks the writer 'politely' from your left, and by politely you mean with painfully obvious vitriol. Toko shuddered and pulled away from your girlfriend due to her words.

"B-B-But my place i-is with Master! Not them!" She bemoaned loudly.

This would be a situation you could handle… If there wasn't a nurse clinging onto your arm trying to pull you away from both Toko and Celeste. Which was not helped as Toko backed into Mikan.

The nurse visibly recoiled at the close proximity and cried out, "G-G-Get off him! Th-This is highly indecent! Um… Uh… Please!" Mikan hid her hatred for Toko better, but you could catch the glint in her eyes well enough.

Oh the cherry on the shit cake, these three were making a scene right in front of both classes. In full view, you were basically the center of attention right now and a part of you wanted to slap Toko upside the head… However, you recognized the best thing you can do right now is nothing…

Even if that meant you had to be subject to the various comments of both classes. Some of the girls were definitely looking at you like you were a weirdo now, some were just trying to not pay attention. The boys were worse, especially Kazuichi and Leon with how they basically complained 'why him' very loudly and repeatedly.

Toko was definitely going to need a lesson in subtlety as well as 'time and a place' as a concept.

Chisa eventually came up and pulled Toko off of you like she was a cat. With that the next part of the race is about to begin. The race between group five and six. They had a good mixture of athletic students on both teams so you really wanted to see what they were capable of.

You'd only call it a passing interest though.

Celeste then scooches her hip into you and says, "When did you do that to her?" Obviously referring to Toko's behavior.

"Yesterday…" You say as you let out a cough.

"Bring me next time, clearly you need a steady hand like myself to ensure something like this doesn't happen again." Celeste comments.

Mikan isn't really listening though, the girl is just snuggling your arm like it was a teddy bear. Which while cute, was kind of annoying with how tightly she was holding your arm. It was almost completely numb at this point, and you didn't have the heart nor the care to remove her.

Looking away from the nurse you simply tell Celeste, "I'll think about it."

Letting out a hum she says nothing else as the next race begins.

The starters for the teams were Sakura for team five and Peko for team six. With the start of the race they both rush forward with speed unseen till now, even surpassing the likes of Ibuki. It was quite the sight and you only wish it lasted longer.

It was like the second each started their sprint it was over, they were basically tied too, with Sakura only getting to Chiaki a second before Peko got to Yasuhiro. Unfortunately for Peko this time loss would be compounded by Yasuhiro seemingly not realizing what was going on.

Chiaki was already in full sprint, if you could even call it that, and taking a good lead for someone as unathletic as her.

It took Peko giving Yasuhiro a death glare for him to finally take off, and boy, you thought Ibuki was fast… But this fear-ridden idiot is almost putting her to shame with how quickly he's running! He must have experience running away from his problems!

Poor Chiaki had to stop her sprint to take a breather, clearly not built for this kind of running, only to be completely overtaken because of it!

Unfortunately Yasuhiro passed onto Toko, and your pet was just not interested in making the sprint. Hell, she only ran to get away from her own teammate!

Once she was sufficiently far she began walking the rest of the way!

This gave Chiaki the perfect opportunity to catch up! Huffing and puffing as she took into a light jog she passed onto Fujisaki in due time. Unfortunately the short girl seemed unsure of herself. However, after what you can only assume was some sort of pep talk the girl in the long skirt began sprinting!

Very slowly.

Those legs of hers were not built for running either it seems. Though Toko was only walking so even with her lead they both got to the final two sprinters almost at the same time. Not that it mattered Toko got there first since Akane seemed keen on waiting for her opponent to be given the chance to run as well.

Nekomaru, the absolute unit of a man, shook his head at Akane's antics and waited for the fragile Fujisaki to reach him. Then with both of the last sprinters ready to make the final dash-...

Okay now you're just disappointed.

You blinked and literally missed it, what the fuck?

Both team's final sprinters were already across the finish line in the time it took you to open your eyes. Which yeah you had your eyes shut for a time for dramatic tension, but that was only five seconds! How were both so fast?!

Who even won?

"Auuuugh! I'll beat you one of these days, coach!" Shouted Akane, very very loudly.

And Nekomaru responded just as loudly, "Hahahaha! Not with bad form and sportsmanship like that!"

"What's that supposed to mean, huh?" She cried out as she began attacking Nekomaru, starting a fight for the ages… That you didn't watch because you were just trying to process what happened…

Based on what they said you guess Nekomaru won?

Seems you were not the only one who was confused as Mahiru asked aloud, "Ummm… Miss Yukizome, did you catch who crossed the finish line first?"

The teacher of Class-77 clasped her hands together and joyfully said, "Not at all!"

Guess everyone will be playing it by ear then.

Onto the next race then… Team seven with Makoto and group eight with the two Togami's! Speaking of the two Togami's, they seemed to want to be anywhere but here! Not that Makoto's team looked all too comfortable themselves…

Anyways it was time for the Ultimate lucky student and his group of all girls versus the Togami's… Sonia and Gundham are there too, you suppose.

The first two were the larger Togami and Mukuro. Some words were shared between the two—not that you could make out what was said… You just felt it was odd the two would exchange words at all. You didn't get to ruminate on that oddity for long though as they quickly broke into a sprint.

The fat Togami surprised you with his exceptional agility as he was definitely faster than the likes of Ibuki in spite of his size… Unfortunately Mukuro was faster than Peko and Sakura by a good margin. So even if Togami was a surprise, the Ultimate Soldier was just built better.

Mukuro swiftly passes off to Sayaka and the idol is quick to maintain the great lead Mukuro just built up and gets running! Though after she made some distance you found yourself focusing on the lower half of her body.

Not for entirely lecherous reasons at that! You just couldn't help but take note of her thighs. They seemed thick but it was clear there was some good muscle underneath the juicy thighs the idol bore.

However, yet again as seems common for this race you were not allowed to linger on that thought for too long! In a surprising twist as soon as the rounder Togami passes off to Gundham, a hidden speedster reveals himself! Loudly at that, "For the Tanaka Empire!" The chuuni shouts his war cry and rushes past Sayaka in a strange running pose…

Why does he hold his arms back like that?

He does realize he'd probably go faster if he wasn't bent over so weirdly right? He might even give Peko a run for her money if he wasn't trying to be an edgelord! Sayaka, undeterred by Gundham's 'impeccable' sprinting, kept up her swift run but unfortunately was unable to reach Kyoko in time.

Gundham had already passed off to Sonia with a thunderous, "Haha! Another war won!" You couldn't help but chuckle at the enthusiasm, he was so goofy it went right back round to being almost cool. Hearing the premature declaration of victory Sayaka picked up the pace and made it to Kyoko as quick as she could.

Unable to stop herself the idol bumps into the Ultimate Detective, due to this Kyoko is given a good push forward, which definitely surprised her. Yet she is quick to adjust and gets to catching up.

Following quickly on Gundham's toes Kyoko is finally given the chance to show her stuff! If only she wasn't exhausted she'd probably be able to outpace Sonia! Not that she was doing poorly or anything, it was just clear she wasn't doing her best.

Yet just as Sonia was about to pass off to Togami the blond foreigner found herself tripping over some unseen obstacle. Dazed from the act she was unable to get up in time to maintain the lead as Makoto was already running as fast as he could!

Scrambling to her feet, seemingly embarrassed, she passes off to the skinnier Togami. The other blonde scoffs and quickly breaks into a sprint that would put his heftier counterpart to shame! This blonde twit seems to have some serious muscle under all that skin and bones!

Yet somehow Makoto was able to keep the lead… It's not like he was faster than Togami or that the taller boy was sandbagging… It just seemed like fate had determined that Makoto Naegi would stay ahead of Togami.

The reason you say this for certain is because in the last seconds of the race Makoto trips… This fall occurred just as Togami finally secured the lead and was seemingly going to win.

Yet as if a gust of wind pushed him forward, the Ultimate Lucky student managed to land on the other side of the finish line before Togami could cross it. Though he landed squarely on his face and seemed definitely roughed up from the fall.

Which left Mr. Rich Kid rather miffed from what you could tell…

Probably muttering shit to himself to make him feel better about losing. Not that you would be able to do any better if you were in his shoes. That really was just ridiculous…

The most annoying part is that you're pretty sure you, him, and maybe Celeste were the only ones who realized that race was a really bizarre case of luck. You hope Celeste noticed anyways, but she seemed completely disinterested in the events before her.

Ah well, at last it was time to move onto the next stage!

With that it was onto the next stage, a three-legged race! Your team would go against group two and Makoto's group would go against team five. According to Chisa each team would have to choose two people to 'represent' their team during the race. Your team went with Leon as he was actually fit to race and Ibuki because she volunteered.

While team two went with… Mondo and Ishimaru? Those two seemed pretty incompatible… Are they sure that's a good idea?

Not that you'll complain if your team gets to the finals or whatever.

Team seven meanwhile chose Mukuro and Sayaka which was understandable. Those two did the best out of their team but you'll admit to being surprised as it looks as though Mukuro is actually uncomfortable with the idea. Not that she dares voice a complaint.

Group five meanwhile chose Sakura and Chiaki? Well you guess that makes sense… If they went with Nekomaru, Sakura might get knocked over by the mammoth of a man. She's like half his size!

Chisa then gave the two groups about fifteen minutes to practice the three- legged race, as it would only be a two hundred meter sprint. It was absolute chaos!

Mondo and Ishimaru were at each other's throats the entire time! You couldn't believe they didn't try to hit each other with all the yelling and cursing going on—you feel you have to mention that it was Mondo who cursed, not Ishimaru. Sakura was having to take it slow with Chiaki as the gamer girl was just not built for running as you've mentioned previously.

Though at least they got down the coordination pretty well. Not that it meant much as the struggle was always going to be Chiaki's stamina, the lack of it to be specific.

Leon and Ibuki were-! Were completely fine actually… Sure Leon was awkward as hell with the energetic musician strapped to him, but their coordination was really good! Maybe Ibuki just has something about her that makes people click with her? She seems to have talents beyond a musician anyway.

You'll admit you were a bit disappointed, you're certain those two would've been far more entertaining if they were struggling. It's of no great loss, Mondo and Ishimaru provided well in terms of entertainment.

However, they were not the creme de la creme, Sayaka and Mukuro were the real gems…

All the floundering around, the 'kyaas', how the two just kept landing on each other in almost obscene ways… It was perfection. Especially seeing Mukuro beginning to lose her cool with how red her face has become. The two of them were just not compatible in the slightest.

It didn't matter if by the end of the fifteen minutes they were doing better, they were still easily the worst pair in terms of performance. Even Mondo and Ishimaru had gotten far better at running with one another in the short timeframe when compared to those two!

Things were not looking great for team seven! Seems like their luck has all dried up!

"Okay, if group two and four's reps can head to the starting line." Calls out a bored Kizakura… Oh yeah, you forgot he was here against his will.

The group of four young adults abide the teacher's request and meet at the starting line.

Then as soon as Kizakura shouts, "Ready! Go!" They're off!

The two boys did perform well, they really did… But they were up against well- oiled machine, a well-oiled machine known as Ibuki Mioda and her chief minion Leon Kuwata! It was over as soon as it began.

The stride of Leon and Ibuki were in such sync that Mondo and Ishimaru could practice for centuries without ever matching their ability. It was truly a wondrous sight to behold…

And now you'll stop overblowing this whole thing. It was boring, there was no drama!

No surprises like the relay!

Okay, Mondo and Ishimaru actually put their differences aside to try and beat an unbeatable duo like this was a shounen… But besides that nothing.

Onto the next one please, chop chop! You need some entertainment over here lest you do something rash like pulling Tsumiki aside and take her virginity!

Okay…

For once that was truly a joke. You'll be kinder to Mikan than most of your cohorts when it comes to taking what's precious to her.

Won't change the fact you'll be the one to take it…

Oh, the next pair of groups are at the starting line… Well let's see if this can provide better entertainment value.

Hmm… Strange… As the race was about to start you spared a glance Sayaka and Mukuro's way not expecting to see their confidence. The two readied up as Chisa began counting down, and you were rewarded with shock!

The two girls who had been floundering earlier as if they were completely incapable of working with one another were now doing much better! Not on Ibuki and Leon's level, but definitely comparable to Mondo and Ishimaru!

You just have to wonder what happened between and now to inspire such change.

Looking away from the race at hand you look towards Makoto in the stands, he was watching enthusiastically at his teammates' performance. You had to wonder if it really was something like some set of differences being settled.

Or…

"Chiaki!" Someone screamed. Flicking your attention back to the race you come to find that Chiaki has toppled over halfway in… She doesn't seem exhausted though… She and Sakura were doing well too.

Was it… Was this luck? Was this all just luck?

Such thoughts definitely took over the more you paid attention.

Chiaki did her best to recover but by then Mukuro and Sayaka had taken the lead. Even with Sakura's help as well as a second wind… They were only able to manage a close loss rather than an outstanding victory.

Well just one more race to go… Finals.

Your team put forward Ibuki to race as even though Leon was more athletic, it was clear Ibuki was the best sprinter on the team… Though you have a feeling Leon would be more comparable with Ibuki if he didn't seemingly half-ass it.

At least that's your assumption on why he was slower than Ibuki.

Mukuro was the clear choice for team seven and so the final two racers were chosen…

And!

It was a wash. Ibuki didn't compare, which left the musician fake crying as Mukuro easily takes the victory. Poor Ibuki didn't even make it halfway by the time the Ultimate Soldier finished the race!

Ah well, rather anticlimactic…

Hmph though it wasn't useless you guess. If you were right about how exactly group seven achieved their victory you just learned how oppressive luck can be when it kicks in… Perhaps you should be rather cautious if Makoto ever gets involved in your problems or vice versa.

Caught up in your thoughts you didn't notice that Chisa was right next to you along with Celeste and… Miaya? Why is she here?

"Hey, Akira you all good?" Chisa asked with some concern filtering through her cheery disposition.

"Uh yeah… What's up?" You respond quickly trying not to seem startled or odd. Though you're certain your confusion was clear.

"Well Miss Miaya told me of your circumstances and if you'd like you can leave early. If you want to stay Miss Miaya is understanding, right?" Chisa explained with clasped hands.

"Of course." Miaya says with a nod.

"She might be understanding but I do not wish to be alone for the next thirty or so minutes…" Celeste bitterly says as she leers at the two women.

"But you won't be alone?" Chisa… Asks? You couldn't tell. Her tone was weird when she said that.

"You know what I mean Miss Yukizome." Celeste complains.

Ignoring the other two ladies Miaya interrupts to say, "If you wish to partake in the activities Akira I won't stop you. I can handle this student myself at least this time. However, I wished to offer you the choice…"

You think it over but it seems you were silent for quite a while.

You say that because it felt like not even a few seconds passed when the Ultimate Therapist followed up her previous statement with, "So…"

Then again she might be impatient… Alright, what are you doing?

"Alright, alright. I'm coming…" You say pretending to be annoyed as you rise from the seat, finally noticing everyone else had gone elsewhere… You must have been in some seriously deep thought then, huh.

Celeste is quick to complain at your decision, "Of course… You just couldn't suffer with me could you?"

"Calm yourself… You're acting like I'm leaving you to die!" You chuckle while following behind Miaya who had begun walking down the steps.

"Might as well be." She bitterly bemoans.

Miss Yukizome, bless her soul, does her best to cheer up Celeste, "Keep that chin up Ludenberg! Who knows maybe this is an opportunity to make new frie-! I'll shut up now!" Your girlfriend gets agitated at Chisa's attempt and shoves her clawed finger in front of the teacher's face.

You don't think Chisa was very afraid of Celeste, but she was definitely a bit tense due to your girlfriend's attitude.

Yet before you could say anything Miaya calls to you from the bottom of the steps, "Come on Akira, we've wasted enough time here."

Seems you spaced out again.

Jogging down the stairs you join up with Miaya and finally separate from the ongoing events.

Distracted with some subconscious thought you don't even pay attention as Miaya leads you to her office. She was definitely talking about something but your mind was clouded without something to keep your mind off… Something.

Something… That you weren't entirely certain of.

Oh you're here. "Did you even hear a word I said Akira? You seem really out of it?" Miaya asks, concerned.

Unable to come up with an excuse, you ask, "Did you hear about what happened?"

"Hear about what happening?" Miaya asks with a raised brow.

"Nevermind, just something recent has been on my mind. Don't worry about it." You clarify, seeing that path was closed to you.

Thankfully Miaya leaves it at that and opens the door to her office finally allowing you to see who was inside. Not expecting much and yet you were pleasantly surprised! "Oh? I guess I'll be taking you up on that offer sooner than I thought?" Kaede said with a shy expression as she rubbed the back of her head.

"Indeed." You say in response, internally smirking quite devilishly.

"I'll leave you two to it…" Miaya mutters as she saunters off.

You meanwhile enter the office and sit in one of the lounge's chairs. Kaede was standing in the room rather awkwardly, an embarrassed blush took over her face before she could decide to do anything. "If you don't want to sit down. I won't force you." You explain.

"Ah, no! I'm just uhm… Give me a second!" Kaede awkwardly bumbles as she takes a seat across from you. Her face was now completely red as she pushed her hands into her knees with a soft hum leaving her lips… What's got her so embarrassed?

"Really sorry! I'm just a bit distracted! Honestly, I didn't think this 'mandatory session' would be with you!" Kaede mutters quite loudly under her breath. How she managed to be so loud while clearly trying to be quiet you have no idea.

"It's alright, don't worry." You assuage her concerns, finally giving her the chance to calm down.

Letting out a breath Kaede relaxes and lays her arms on the arms of the chair as she says, "Hoo… Sorry, honestly I don't know why I'm so nervous. Considering it's you I should be feeling at ease, not like this right?"

"Do you think you could explain that feeling?" You ask, curious.

"D-Don't feel too comfortable about that sorry!" Kaede said as she instinctively rubbed the back of her head.

"That's all good, don't stress yourself out!" You say quickly upon noticing her face beginning to go red again.

You don't want her to become too embarrassed to speak after all. "Alright, let's start with something else then Kaede. First off, just sit back and relax. If you have nothing to say or nothing you want to say make sure to let me know. This is your chance to be heard and listened to… Not for me to yap."

"Okay come on hit me then! I'm ready to chat!" Kaede says as she raises a thumbs up.

"Then I'll start with a simple question, has Hope's Peak been treating you well?" You ask.

Kaede was more than ecstatic to answer your question, "Yeah! Urgh-... Minus that whole 'the school is spying on us thing'... Uh… Everyone's super nice! Mostly everyone… Ah, not to say I think anyone is bad or anything, it's just…" Yet the longer she spoke, the worse her tone and the content of her words became.

"It's just that not everyone has shown their best side yet?" You offered.

She seemed to approve of that answer as she raised her arms in a triumphant pose to say, "Y-Yeah!" Her voice had a bit of a stutter but she seemed to agree with you in spite of whatever she truly thought.

Shaking her head to get rid of stray thoughts Kaede brought her hand to her chin as she said, "Let me think… There's Himiko, Gonta, Keebo, Tsumugi, Kirumi, Rantaro, Tenko… And… Hmm? Ah! How did I forget Kaito? Angie too!" You raised a brow at her listing what you could only assume was her classmates considering Kirumi, Tenko, and Angie.

"They're all super friendly, some are a bit too friendly like Angie and Tenko though. Not that that's a bad thing!" Kaede waves her hands wildly as she makes that observation.

Letting out an affirmative hum as you lay back in your seat you interrupt the girl's rambling with, "Now while I might not be aware of everyone in your class… Is it safe to assume you're on a first name basis with most of them?"

"Huh?" Kaede doesn't know how to take your question it seems.

"Actually yeah… Maybe I'm the one that's a bit too friendly." She says with an annoyed expression as she rubs the back of her head.

Seeing that the blonde haired piano player had taken your words in a vastly different way than you had intended you followed up her revelation with, "I didn't mean to insinuate such a thing I assure you. In my opinion I think it's a rather good skill to have."

"I guess a therapist would appreciate a patient having a lot of friends…" Kaede says wistfully.

There was something off about how she said that, so with some trepidation you asked, "Do you feel undeserving of such friendships?"

You don't know why but that name, 'Piano Freak' came to mind with how out of it she sounded. Perhaps she suffered some form of bullying? Or some severe isolation from her peers? Either way that name doesn't seem to have good connotations.

Tuning out your thoughts you focus on Kaede as she shakes her head then explains, "It's not that… I am friendly with a lot of my class… But I don't know if that necessarily means friends for one. I guess I sort of realized I'm a bit desperate to have them as friends… If that makes sense."

Nodding at her attempt to explain how she feels you try to put the pieces together by asking, "I've heard to you refer to yourself as a 'Piano Freak' a few times. Can I make the assumption that the existence of such a term may have been involved with prior relationships?"

Moving her right hand to caress her left arm, Kaede replies with, "Huh? Well, you're not too far off… But I'd prefer to not talk about all that! I want to turn around that nickname this time!" Though initially despondent as she spoke, Kaede seemed to gain some confidence by the end.

Unfortunately it seems like you won't be able to figure out what it all means just yet.

Ah, well, you think you have a decent idea on what it does mean… All you need is confirmation.

This is not the time to ruminate however…

Kaede seems caged now after that line of questioning, you had wished to inquire about what she and Shuichi had been doing… However, you'll save that for another time. It would be ineffective now, if not outright harmful to yourself.

Recovering from that mistake with ease you ask, "Seems I've upset you, I apologize. Is there anything else you would wish to talk about?"

Eyes widened in horror as Kaede cried out, "It's not your fault! I know I've been throwing that name around and you wouldn't even kn-!"

Raising your hand was enough to get the pianist to stop mid sentence, and with that you say, "It's fine Kaede, again if there's anything else you want to talk about, go ahead."

Now skittish in her mannerisms, Kaede leans back in her chair with an unreadable expression as she chuckles humorlessly to herself and says, "You wouldn't mind talking piano with me would you?"

"Not at all." You say with a soft smile.

Although you would not get much from this interaction, at the very least you did nothing to ruin Kaede's interpretation of you.

The conversation from this point drifted from one thing to the next when you got Kaede going on where her passions lie. From some basic music theory, to particular melodies she enjoyed, and you even got some details on her family.

Her father was apparently a hobbyist musician who never made it big.

Ultimately outside of that little detail, it was just small talk with Kaede gushing over her love for music.

To be frank you'd be happy to never hear a word of Kaede's dissatisfaction with modern pop. You could understand the sentiment but the technical detail she went into to explain the inferiority of such music was more than you could stomach. The fact that pop was grating to your ears was enough for you to agree.

Before she could get into some other rant you try to interrupt in the kindest way possible by saying, "To be honest with you Kaede… My understanding of music appears to be elementary when compared to yours. I have some basic guitar playing skills but that's about it."

"Ah, I may have gotten ahead of myself." She nervously says with a chuckle.

Feigning nervousness you respond with, "It's fine, I'm glad to see you have something you pour so much passion into. I just wish I could be a more engaging partner when it comes to discussing such passion."

"I could direct you to some introductory stuff for music theory and composition! We could even talk about it some time!" Kaede offered, and now you weren't feigning being nervous. You were nervous.

Because you accepted with not as much thought as you usually operate with, "S-Sure…" Were you scared of this girl's enthusiasm somehow?

'Piano Freak' indeed…

"Unfortunately I believe our time is up…" It wasn't.

Kaede didn't need to know. "Time sure flies by huh?" The Pianist says with a wonderful smile.

Getting up from your chair along with Kaede, the both of you exit the office. Standing in the hall Kaede lets her arms fall behind her back as she says, "Honestly that was more fun than I expected, Akira! I'll see you some other time!"

"Have a good day now!" You say trying your best to not sweat.

Shaking your head once the girl is out of sight you begin smirking to yourself. More accurately, at yourself. "Scared of some impassioned girl… What's wrong with you?" You mutter.

Laughing aloud at the absurdity of the feeling you walk off, there was still plenty of day left. You'll have to make the best of it.

Yawning into your hand you begin making your ways away from Miaya's office. You did your job, obviously not much got done… Whatever, reminiscing on what you could have done better won't change what you did wrong and obviously you'd endeavor to better next time around.

Putting that thought aside for good you began walking around the school in a lackadaisical manner as you were hoping to come across something of interest. You were not left wanting as you had caught sight of a tired Chisa lounging on a bench outside the school and while you sort of wanted to see what was up… Eh, there could be better things to waste your time on.

Of course speak of the devil and they shall appear.

As that's when you bumped into a certain misandrist and you do mean bumped. You were graced with the misfortune of turning a corner and slamming your body into Tenko. Worse, she was strong enough to keep her balance while you were sent sprawling to the floor.

The action causes the martial artist to enter an odd stance as she loudly says, "Aah! Degenerate male! You dare touch me!"

Just before she's about to strike, you went for a tactical roll and shouted, "Oi! Oi! That was mutually our fault for not paying attention! Calm down!" You were not in the mood for getting beat up.

Pausing mid kick as if realizing who you were, Tenko gave you a disgusted glare and said, "Oh! You…"

Did she not realize who she was about to hit?! Tenko then rather calmly said, "I'll forgive you this time…" Huh, that's surprising…

Her face quickly enraged upon noticing your look and she then yells out, "But only because it would be wrong of me to hit someone recovering, got it!" Ah… That makes more sense. Guess she found out about it as well…

Finally exiting her surprisingly disciplined stance, Tenko rests her hands on her hips and says, "Anyways, out of my way, scum. I have a lunch to attend! A classmate of mine is hosting one in the cafeteria and I'd rather spend my time there than with you degenerate!"

"Oh?" You ask as you get out of the way. Her eyes widen at your question and instead of staying for a second longer, Tenko went into full sprint.

"You're not invited!" She shouted as she ran past, her face had become incredibly awkward at this action. Though you only got to see her mask of confidence shatter just as she passed you.

You had half a mind to follow her but before you could you heard a door open behind you.

Turning around to look down the hall you see Mukuro and Sayaka of all people exit a room together. Completely forgetting the fiasco that just occurred you watched from around the corner as they walked away, conversing with one another the whole way…

Wandering to the room they had been in you find that it was the music room… Huh? Why do you keep ending up back here? Actually doesn't matter… Now, what do you do?

In an incredible move of genius instead of following directly behind them you had wandered the other way. Now most would assume this was effectively giving up, especially with your inability to traverse even a race track… However, you had a devious scheme.

By going around you'd meet up with Sayaka and Mukuro at the entrance by 'coincidence'.

Honestly your genius sometimes shocks you. Now that you're done having fun in your head, time to actually meet up with them. Running down the nearest set of stairs it was as simple as walking forward til you reached the entrance and-!

There we are.

Two Ultimates' you'd honestly never peg to speak friendly with one another having an amicable conversation. Mukuro was clearly the more reserved of the two, keeping her hands at her sides and making only the most minute of head movements while keeping her eyes directly on Sayaka's face.

Sayaka meanwhile was 'wilder' in the sense she used her whole body to communicate. Every word had some body movement to accompany it, and she seemed to grab attention naturally as she spoke. She didn't worry too much about keeping her eyes on Mukuro, more than fine with staring at nothing in particular while speaking.

It was an odd contrast.

One you were more than interested to learn about. You would dare you say you were downright voracious in your want to investigate. However you ignored your instinct to stalk and observe. A more direct approach would be the best option here.

So as you and the girls just so happen to walk out of the school at the same time you pause in your stride as if only now you just became aware of the two's presence and say, "Oh, Ikusaba. Maizono." Your tone was approachable, at least in your own opinion.

Mukuro only spares a glance your way, her face souring somewhat as Maizono looks at you and greets you in turn, "Ah, hey there Furuya! You heading back to the dorms too?" Are they perhaps heading to the lounge at the dorms? Or are they going to their rooms?

Shaking your head in response you say, "'Fraid not. Not really someone who can stay cooped there all day so I was hoping to find something to do. What about you?"

"The two of us were just heading towards the lounge…" Maizono says, you could tell she was leading her words to say something else. Her right index finger was brought to her chin to help sell her 'thinking it over', but it was plainly apparent to you that it was performance.

Shutting her eyes tight and putting on a bright smile the Ultimate Pop Sensation clasps her hands together then says, "You could join us if you want!"

Thinking it over you catch sight of Mukuro's disinterested expression and that leads you to smiling in turn. "Hmm perhaps… I did need to speak with Ikusaba about something." You say after 'some thought'. The soldier's eyes bug out a bit as her head swerves to finally look at you directly.

"Oh? Really, you don't mind if I ask what it is, do you?" Sayaka says as she brings up her hand to hide her mouth, no doubt unable to hide a smirk.

"Hmm… I don't entirely know if it's something I should talk about in the open. It does have to do with any future therapy sessions between me and her after all." You say seriously, coming up with a good enough excuse in your opinion to come along.

Sayaka lets her arms fall to her side as she says, "You provide therapy..?"

"Yes, the school is having me develop my talent by helping our fellow students with their problems. I won't break my confidentiality with Mukuro, but I wanted to talk with her for a moment about future sessions." You explain simply, as Mukuro hears your explanation she calms down and goes back to seeming disinterested…

Though you kept catching her glance towards you with the truth in her eyes.

She couldn't hide her very real interest even with those soldier instincts of hers.

Sayaka meanwhile becomes uncertain, she starts rubbing her left arm and says, "I mean if it's super important I can just go on ahead or whatever. I don't mind being by myself for a bit…"

Raising a finger you then explain, "Exactly why I'm fine with just joining along for a bit. It's not too pressing and honestly I would rather get to know the two of you better outside of an office or classroom."

"Oh, that makes more sense." Sayaka says while looking apologetic.

Sprinting ahead somewhat, Sayaka waves to the two of you and shouts, "Well, come on then you two! Afternoon relaxation awaits!"

"After you…" You say as you take a short bow with an obnoxious smirk, Mukuro's face becomes slightly red as she speedwalks past you… Truly the best excuses were the ones that were practically the truth…

Entering the lounge with company in hand you find yourself pleasantly surprised with how empty it is! You expected at least a few of your upperclassmen to be here.

Seems you were not alone in that as Sayaka bemoans, "Oh no one's here…" The idol does not stop in her approach even as she speaks. With purpose she makes her way over to a couch and jumps onto it to begin lounging.

Mukuro meanwhile clearly didn't know what to do… To abandon the poor soldier just like that, for shame Sayaka! For shame! Looks like it was up to you to coach the girl.

So offering up your sage advice you whisper to her, "Just go sit down." You made sure to sound encouraging so she didn't get scared off or anything.

For a soldier she was rather flighty with social interaction after all. Just another thing holding your interest in regards to why she would be hanging out with someone that was clearly a social butterfly.

In this case she looks at you pleasantly for your words and makes her way just a bit away from Sayaka before sitting down 'next' to the other girl.

"Sooo~... Furuya you deal with therapy?" Sayaka asks, and you were immediately aware that she was probing you.

With a glint in your eyes you feign passion for your craft by saying, "Of course, not only am I a psychologist but a licensed psychiatrist. If I couldn't actually handle people's issues how could I ever hope to understand mannerisms or how the brain works?"

Sayaka's eyes widened as if not expecting such an answer. You have to say you sense some hidden hostility coming from the girl.

"But to personally seek out Ikusaba to tell her something… I thought therapists usually kept a safe distance from their patients… Relationships between a client and their therapist—even if completely platonic—don't tend to work out from what I've heard!" She says seemingly out of the blue.

Did she think you were trying to get together with Mukuro or something?

"Well, I understand why and all but I'd prefer to be seen as a friend my clients can rely on. Especially if we're around the same age. Now for some clients I am just an ear to bend, or a person to complain to but for my classmates I shall endeavor to be more." You say with false conviction. You could see a twinkle in both of the girl's eyes as you blatantly lied to their faces.

Oh yeah, that was the good stuff you were feeling in your chest.

Fooling people was just the best.

"Perhaps I had the wrong impression of you!" Sayaka says enthusiastically, all the while not realizing the connotations of her words. Or maybe she did and was fooling you in revenge. Which you would respect if that were indeed the case. You didn't think so though.

She just seemed like a suspicious girl.

Not at all like someone like Kyoko who could probably sniff out a deception from a mile away if she weren't thrown so deep into the spider's web that she didn't even realize she was being lied to anymore. Ahem…

Mukuro meanwhile was no longer hiding any of that interest she had.

To make sure you stay engaged in the current conversation you respond to what Sayaka had just said with, "I don't really want to know what you meant by that!"

"A good idea!" Sayaka says, again enthusiastic as she speaks.

Okay, this girl might get on your nerves… But she's very cute so you'll give her a pass for now, but you'll remember that. Oh you will remember that.

How do you guys want to tackle this encounter? Two pluses can get in — Voting closed — 6 voters

Take charge of the situation for now, lead the conversation until a time comes to pull Mukuro aside. (What) 5/5 - Let Sayaka take charge instead, she seems like the kind of person who can naturally lead a conversation. (Let poor old QM decide everything) 1/1 Ask Sayaka what it's like being a very popular idol 0 Ask Mukuro about whatever training regimen she uses to give her such agility (referring to her monstrous speed she showed earlier) 0 Ask Sayaka if she and Mukuro were getting along considering their surprising showing earlier today. (basically asking what they were doing in the music room) 5/5 Ask Mukuro if she and Sayaka were getting along, particularly how they got to work together just in time for the three-legged races earlier (asking about what was actually happening then instead) 2/2 Ask both girls about how they're enjoying Hope's Peak 1/1

Putting aside Sayaka's… Unwarranted comments… You decided it would be best to try and get the most out of this interaction as possible. Perhaps that was greedy of you to immediately try and make the most of every situation you came across…

Buuut, then that wouldn't be you now would it?

"I must say, you two aren't a duo I would expect." You start with a small probe, just something to get a reaction.

Mukuro had an interesting reaction, a small flinch before collecting herself. Her return to a neutral stony faced expression was far too quick to be natural. It was like she flipped a switch to turn off all expressed emotion… Mukuro was surprisingly emotive considering how she presents herself, so it was very obvious for someone as astute as you that something was going on.

Sayaka meanwhile had a far more natural reaction with how she became sheepish and began rubbing the back of her head as she asked, "I'm guessing that's because of how that three-legged race stuff was working out at first?"

With a good-natured smile, you say, "I won't lie to either of you… So yes, that was a big reason behind my question… If you'll forgive me for saying this, but the two of you at the time seemed completely incompatible."

Mukuro tensed again but showed no other signs of a reaction, she just stared directly into your eyes. You pretended to not notice. "Yeah… That's probably right… I don't think I made a good impression when we got paired up… But we're past that now…"

Mukuro then decided to speak up with a slightly monotone voice as she continued to stare directly into your eyes and asked, "You said that was merely a reason?"

"A big reason!" You corrected.

Mukuro's face showed some emotion once more as her expression soured and a frown marred her features.

Not wanting to anger the soldier you—a little too quickly—followed up your quip with, "But, I won't deny your personality didn't strike me as someone who would quickly make friends. I also figured that a social butterfly like what I'm assuming Sayaka to be would be anathema to you…"

Sayaka raised a finger to say something but then Mukuro with a raised brow asked, "Anathema?"

Not realizing what she was asking, you went into a spiel, "I had believed the two of you were not working well with one another during all that practice earlier due to having conflicting personalities, worldviews, etc. A mostly baseless one I'll admit but-."

"No, I meant what was that word supposed to mean." Mukuro clarified with a soft voice as she subtly sunk in on herself.

Ah… This feeling of shame… You're an idiot.

Coughing into your fist you then clarify in turn by saying, "Oh… Seems I got ahead of myself, I apologize. From my understanding it basically means curse. I was suggesting that the two of you were so unalike that you were like curses to one another, hence anathema."

Seems you went a bit too professional there… Well, you're the Ultimate Psychologist, not the Ultimate Actor or something else benign. A moment later you say, "Sorry, I'll try to keep to more casual terms."

"It's fine…" Mukuro whispered.

Sayaka raised her finger again and cut into the conversation by saying, "Ahem, anyways. I wouldn't really call myself a social butterfly. I think you have the wrong impression of me." Though she said it with an understanding tone and a kind disposition her shut tight eyes told you she was rather annoyed with that description.

You also note that neither girl denies the accusation of them not getting along at first. Seems you weren't wrong in your initial assumption from a hour ago.

"Then I guess we both erred in that sense." You snark.

Instead of coming up with a smart response Sayaka's forehead teems with sweat as she stirs in silence. A second later she breaks it by saying, "Touché."

Sayaka, likely out of awkwardness, leaps out of her seat and stands tall… Awkwardly. "Anyways, that's in the past now! We're going to be the best of friends from here on out! Besides, I can't hate someone with good taste!" The idol announced as she gained some confidence.

Mukuro blushes at that statement and once more sinks into herself somewhat.

"You don't mind if I ask for some clarification?" You asked gently.

As if realizing you were in the same room as her, Sayaka blinked a few times before asking, "Oh, yeah… What's your taste in music Furuya? I'm going to assume it's not pop…"

You felt your face scrunch up in disgust as she asked that question. It was not that hard to figure out what the question was once the word 'taste' came out. Then it wasn't much of leap to figure what she was exactly asking considering her profession.

So you answered honestly, "No, I'm more of a classical and alternative rock guy to be perfectly honest. Jazz is up there as well I guess, but pop no… Not in the slightest."

Kicking the side of her left shoe with her other foot Sayaka mumbled, "Yeah that's what I was expecting… Actually, rock's a bit of a surprise. Then again I guess you're a guy." Ah, stereotyping… If only statistics wasn't damning in this regard you'd have a leg to stand on.

Chuckling to yourself you lean back and say, "My mother is a big rock fan, I sort of got her love for it second hand… Through plenty of exposure." She didn't seem to interested in that tidbit considering her strange look.

"Anyway I assume there was a purpose behind such a question?" You then ask.

"Uh, yeah… I doubt you heard of the group, but there was a popular idol group when I was growing up that was made up of young girls. They were a huge inspiration to me as I was growing up and I just found out today I'm not the only appreciator of them here at Hope's Peak!" She said that last bit with a sing-songy voice as she 'subtly' pointed towards Mukuro with both index fingers.

Mukuro was discreetly looking in neither of your directions as Sayaka said this.

"Oh really?" You ask genuinely interested.

Sayaka nodded enthusiastically and said, "Mhm! I was listening to one of their sadder songs after all that practicing stuff was over with and Ikusaba here recognized it. We sort of just… Clicked after that."

That was enough to get them to work in such sync after all that struggle? Maybe there was some deeper reason or context you were just missing.

Perhaps a name to go along with this 'group' will solve the issue, "Huh, I must say I'm surprised… Who were they if you don't mind me asking?"

Bringing an index finger to her chin Sayaka then says, "Uhm… Have you heard of 'So Long Nami'? Or Shoko Natsume? I think her actual name is a bit more famous nowadays…"

Neither name struck a chord in your mind, "I'm afraid I'm not familiar."

"Really? She came here to Hope's Peak and made a historic return to the music industry after her three year hiatus to attend our school!" Sayaka said, sounding a bit panicked.

"Sorry…" Is all you could say. Seems this person had a surprising amount of importance to Sayaka.

"Ah, well it's fine. I figured you weren't into that kind of stuff, but it's surprising you at least hadn't heard of Shoko…" Sayaka muttered..

At that moment the doors to the lounge were thrown open as two figures entered. "Alright! I gotta! I gotta catch her interest!" One voice shouted, that sounded like Leon…

"Is that all you're going to say?" The nervous voice of Makoto rang out from the other figure.

"I gotta! I gotta catch her interest!" Repeated Leon, like a mad man.

"Sheesh… What is he being so loud about?" Sayaka asked as she rested her hands on her hips.

Her eyes then lit up as she recognized who Leon was with. Turning towards you and Mukuro the idol then says, "Hey, I'll go handle that idiot making a ruckus, you two should go over whatever the two of you wanted to go over. I'll be right back!"

Not allowing either of you or Mukuro to voice a disagreement, Sayaka ran off.

Well…

"Uhm…" Mukuro hummed indecisively.

Resting your face in your right hand you wonder how to handle the situation because you definitely did not expect Sayaka to just run off like that.

Sighing as you raise yourself from your seat you look over to Mukuro and begin walking away. Turning back to face the girl for a brief second you say, "C'mon. I'd prefer somewhere more private and less distracting…" You say that while casting a glance towards the direction of a shouting Leon.

When you turned back to face her the soldier stared at you oddly in turn before nodding and getting up to follow you.

Walking through the back exit of the lounge you find yourself behind the dorms with no-one in sight as far as you can tell. Though you knew if someone had their dorm on the bottom floor and had their back window open they would be able to hear you.

So you do not stop your tread, even as you pass some trees that were a distance away from the dorms.

As Mukuro followed behind you, it was not hard to tell that she began slowly transitioning from her usual expression to a confused glare. You could feel her eyes looking at the back of your skull.

It felt almost as bad being under those eyes than it did being actually shot.

Ignoring that feeling you walked past the trees and towards the outwards wall of the main campus. It was a quite ways away from everything and there would be no reason… No good reason anyway for someone to be on the other side of this here wall.

"Is there a reason for us having to walk so far? I thought this was just about therapy… Unless you really are that serious about your patients' confidentiality?" Mukuro's voice was rife with suspicion as she stood perpendicular to the wall, her glare promising pain.

Looking away from that dangerous gaze you mutter, "Have a bit more faith would you? While true I'm not just here to discuss stuff like that… Aren't you being a bit too hasty with the hostility?"

Mukuro's eyes widen yet then—just like before—she shuts off all emotion on her face as she stares at you 'neutrally'. "Your response is not convincing me otherwise." She says bitterly, which… Fair.

Raising your hands up in surrender you then act.

You've got to say… You did not expect Mukuro would be unable to react in time.

As you shove the soldier against the wall while planting your hand mere centimeters away to the left of her face you quickly realize you had somehow pinned the Ultimate Soldier… Oh she could definitely break you in half if she decided too, but as of this moment the wolf's instincts have been curbed.

"Wha-!" She let out in confusion at the act.

You stare into her eyes intently as the soldier tries to glare back, but for whatever reason there was a weakness to her glare. Unable to maintain contact with your glowering eyes, Mukuro looked away rather shyly, a tint of red deigned her uneasy expression. "W-What are you doing?" She asked with the slightest of stutters.

With a grin to match the humor that could now be found in your eyes you spun your thread, "To be honest I just did the first thing that came to mind. You seemed like you were going to either walk away at any second or just straight up attack me."

Scoffing Mukuro gives you the side-eye and asks, "So your first thought was to push me up against a wall? You know what my talent is… If that was really your intention there's nothing you could have done to stop me…"

"Well I still have you here don't I?" You point out.

Mukuro wisely shut her trap as her face got redder.

"Anyway, I really did want to ask how you've been since our last session." You tell her.

A complicated expression overcame her face as the blush subsided, "Well… There's not much else to talk about, I've been fine." Her voice while cold had a softness to it.

"An uneventful life is a good life in the eyes of many." You say in understanding.

"That's not what I meant…" Mukuro said with slight annoyance in her tone.

"I know, I'm just messing with you, Muku." You say that last bit with an edge to your tone.

She merely looks at you unimpressed in response to you calling her that. "Thought that'd get a reaction!" You say as you back up ever so slightly, not bothering to move your right hand at all as Mukuro's body relaxes.

Then she immediately stiffens back up as your other hand finds its way to her right cheek. Mukuro's eyes widened at the contact and you could tell she was milliseconds away from removing your hand from her face.

So you tell her, "I have to ask did you know, you're really cute?"

"H-Huh?" Mukuro asks in spite of being frozen stock still from the sudden change of topic.

You move your thumb along her face as Mukuro shudders under your grasp in response. "I think I appreciate your freckled face the most. Some girls just look awkward with freckles, yet for you it really just brings your whole image together." You say as you do this.

You weren't even doing anything exceptionally lewd and yet you were turned on to all hell. With how big of a blush has overcome the soldier, you weren't the only one. "You've become rather red you know…" You whisper with a hungry tone.

Mukuro finally collects herself enough to rip your hand off her face and hisses, "Why are you acting like this?" As soon as your hand reached your side once more she let go, but that only gave you the opportunity to lower your hand to her right thigh instead.

She was quick to respond as both of her hands grip your left hand now taking part in her shapely thigh. "Isn't it obvious?" You ask looking directly into the embarrassed eyes of the Ultimate Soldier.

"I'm interested in you."

Mukuro's grip goes slack at that and now you were being allowed to feel up her thigh unimpeded. You just silently caress her toned leg a bit more before saying, "Hmm? I expected you to put up more of a fight." You joke as her hands leave your wrists.

You knew already that the girl in front of you was a mess.

"Wh-… What did you mean by 'you're interested in me'?" Her voice became weak as she brought up one hand to cover her mouth.

"Can't hear you when you're mumbling, sorry." You lie blatantly.

Groaning as you don't even stop molesting her leg Mukuro asks again, "What did you mean by what you just said!" She was a bit more forceful in her tone.

"You're a cute girl, and I'm a guy that can't get enough of cute girls… I thought it was rather obvious, or do I need to go into more detail with my explanation?" You say teasingly as your hand trails up her thigh, you take a second to squeeze her firm leg as you did so.

"Aren't you in a relationship? You shouldn't be doing this…" Mukuro brings up.

"If you really cared about that, you would've kept my hand off you." You bring up in turn.

The soldier gains an aura of shame as you refute her words. It was clear that Mukuro didn't actually care, she just wanted an excuse to leave this situation for whatever reason she had in that pretty little head of hers.

Your hand begins hiking up Ikusaba's skirt and it was at this point you removed your hand from her body. Placing your now free hand on the other side of her face you stare deeply into the conflicted eyes of the Ultimate Soldier and ask, "Are you interested in me too?"

That's when you were hit with a rather disappointing answer… "I-I… I don't know." She honestly said in response.

Though what she said afterwards was rather intriguing, "In all the battlefields I've tread… In all the life and death moments I've come face to face with… Only reuniting with my sister has been able to make my heart beat like this…"

She then adds in a whisper, "This shortness of breath that I feel overcomes me… Is it dread or something else?" You almost didn't catch it.

"Sounds like there's something there at least." You offer as you back away.

Mukuro crumples to her knees as she takes in breath after breath. You went to check your phone as you felt it buzz in your pockets but before you could check whatever it was you heard Mukuro ask, "Why?"

"Hmm?" You hum in response as you pull up your phone.

"Why are you 'interested' in me? You already have someone else… Did something happen? Are you simply unfaithful? Just give me a reason! Any reason to why I feel this way!" She begged rather desperately.

Appears it was a text from your mother, you swiped it away not even giving it a look. It was very doubtful it'd be important. Looking down at the girl, you tell her, "Nothing like that… You see, I'll be honest with you Mukuro. I'm just a greedy guy."

"What?" She asks, confused.

Putting your phone back in your pocket you speak with the most honesty you've ever spoken with, "You just caught my interest, and when something has my interest… I'll go to whatever lengths necessary to sate that interest."

"Wh-… What?" She asks unable to understand your point.

Shaking your head you simply tell her, "Don't worry about it too much. Just know I'm gonna be bothering you a lot in the near future."

"Oh… Okay…" Mukuro says, clearly unsatisfied with the response.

Reaching your hand out, you say, "Chin up Mukuro. Stop worrying about whatever nasty thoughts are swimming in that head of yours. We're going to be seeing each other quite often, and I'd prefer if it was on good terms you know."

"Alright." Mukuro says weakly as she grabs onto your hand.

Lifting Mukuro up you then ask, "Oh before I forget… What's your thoughts on seeing me some time in the afternoon tomorrow for another therapy session?"

"Uh…" Seems like she didn't know how to respond.

Sensing how conflicted she was, you quickly added, "Don't worry about answering me now, I'll just come ask you again tomorrow. If you say no, then no it is."

Mukuro could only sigh and say, "Alright."

With that over and done with, you returned Mukuro to the lounge. You had considered staying a bit longer to talk with Sayaka and Mukuro but it seemed as though Makoto and Leon still hadn't left by the time you got back.

Even worse, Sayaka was actively interacting with both of them. Okay…Makoto was fine. However, you just did not want to deal with Leon's loud attitude right now.

Life had other plans.

So upon exiting the lounge you unfortunately became very aware of a death glare pointed towards you from a fair distance away… You could feel that disappointed yet expectative glare from anywhere… There was only one person with enough motherly energy to cause something like it.

With a bit of hesitation you turn your head towards the source of the glare, and there she was.

Mahiru Koizumi glaring at you from the path to the dorms.

Hiyoko was in tow and she was giving you a slightly less effective glare. In all honesty her cute gaze was probably the only thing preventing you from taking the threat of a righteously angry Mahiru seriously.

Not that you were considering Mahiru as anything other than a threat.

But c'mon! You avoided Leon specifically cause you didn't want to hear yelling, dammit!

Pinching your nose with a sigh you walk on over, very slowly. Mahiru meanwhile stared at you the whole time with a signature look of righteous indignation.

As you neared the duo before either could say anything you politely asked, "Before you do anything I am going to politely request we take this inside. I don't want to make a scene."

Mahiru already had her mouth wide open to begin shouting at you, but upon hearing your request acquiesced. "Fine, but don't think you're going to be able to weasel your way out of this!" She muttered, as if she just caught you committing some heinous crime.

"I won't have to weasel my way out of anything…" You said in response as you turned back around heading to your dorm in specific.

"Hmph, we'll see about that perv!" Hiyoko said with such snootiness that you almost believed she gave a damn beyond the fact Mahiru was upset.

Taking in a deep breath you walked as calmly as you could with two very—as of right now—annoying girls to your dorm. Climbing the steps was uneventful but you felt like you were walking towards your execution with the current pace.

Speeding up your steps you rush to your room a bit quicker than you had even intended but that didn't matter. The quicker you got this out of the way the better. Opening the door to the dorm and entering, you are swiftly followed by your two upperclassmen.

As you entered you kindly asked, "Now, we're all adults here. I hope that we can keep the yelling to a minimum as I'm telling you this is all a misunderstanding."

"Pfft… Yeah like we'd believe that after what we saw." Hiyoko said snottily, hiding her mouth behind one of her hands as she did so. You assumed she meant how Toko and Mikan were acting back during all that sports stuff…

Mahiru nodded in response to her friend's words and then said, "Perhaps you shouldn't fool around so openly if you wanted to be taken seriously, Furuya." Wait a minute…

"If you're going to play the whole innocent act don't be feeling up girls in plain view next time!" Hiyoko chuckled to herself. Mahiru crossed her arms as she gave you THAT look. That look a mother gives their child when they catch them in the act.

How the hell did you not see them back there?

Well there went that avenue… "Well… Then, shall I explain before or after you yell at me?" You ask, having been bested this time around. You fucked around and you were finding out. Best you could do is recover.

Mahiru was about to start her tirade, but upon hearing that she paused just long enough for a surprise guest to make her presence known. "You really need to stop bringing troublemakers back here." Celeste said as she walked up behind you.

Oh thank everything that she's here… That'll make this hell of a lot easier.

However, Mahiru took Celeste's presence incorrectly. She gave your girlfriend a pitying look as an uneasy smile took over her face. The photographer then asked, "Celeste, right?"

"Yes?" Celeste responded nearly a second afterwards.

"Forgive me for dropping this on you but, as a girl, I feel you need to know… But Akira has been…" Mahiru began speaking, but she was being far too delicate. She was trying way too hard to soften her words and what she meant.

"'Your man' is a cheating bastard." Hiyoko immediately said without any regard for Mahiru's intent or Celeste's feelings. Both Mahiru and Celeste reacted in distinctively different ways.

"Hiyoko!" Mahiru shouted in surprise. She was quite shocked at the callous behavior of her friend, despite the fact it was obvious what she was going to do. Celeste meanwhile merely raised a brow in response.

"What? Not my fault we both caught him in the act!" The dancer defended her actions.

"You need to be tactful about this kind of thing! I doubt she wants to hear just how bad of a boyfriend Furuya has been!" Mahiru said, right in front of Celeste. Placing her hands on her hips Celeste looked between you and the photographer unimpressed.

Rubbing the back of your head out of shame of getting Celeste caught up in all this, Mahiru took both your actions the wrong way.

"Now, I understand the claim seems unfounded… But not only was that girl that was sitting on his lap earlier very keen on admitting to being in a relationship with him, but our friend Mikan was as well. We even caught him not even a few minutes ago getting personal with another girl from your class!" Mahiru spoke as if this was such a great travesty for her to reveal.

"Koizumi?" Celeste asked with a neutral expression.

"U-Umm… Y-Yes..?" Mahiru asked with a bit of sweat pooling around her forehead.

"I mean this kindly as possible…" A soft smile graced Celeste's features as she spoke.

They quickly twisted into a gaze of complete and total apathy, "Akira is _my_ boyfriend, not yours. What he does on his own time is my concern, not… _Yours_ … If you're here to lecture _my_ man…" The glare in Celeste's eyes was enough to get across how little she cared about the girl's plight.

Mahiru was left absolutely baffled at the response and tried to mount a defense as she said, "I do-don't think you understand… He's-!"

Celeste had vanished at this point, and Taeko had come out in full force as she bitterly said, "No, I don't think you fucking understand. _He's_ my fucking boyfriend, _he's_ my fucking business. If _he_ wants to fool around, _he_ goes through me! He does not need some _stupid bitch's_ permission to do what _he_ wants! _Comprende_?"

Both girls were left shocked at Celeste's sudden turn. They just couldn't comprehend it.

But perhaps she was taking things a bit too far.

Not that you were going to intervene haphazardly.
