Original Prompts: "Baby Sitters Club (any format), Claudia Kishi/female character of your choice, the taste of your kiss is sweeter than Hershey's"

Claudia's never done drugs, but she's beginning to think that she has an idea of what using them is like. Hanging out with Ashley was a quandary in and of itself during middle school, but at Stoneybrook High it's social suicide. She's heard what her fellow sophomores say about Ashley, seen the slurs scrawled in sharp red spray paint on the front of her locker. Sooner or later, she'll be the one people are whispering about unless she can step away.

But then again, how can she? Ashley's kisses are sweeter than any candy that Claudia has ever tasted and her skin softer than a stuffed animal's. There's really no point in leaving if they both know that Claudia will come right back. Maybe it's just those crazy teenage hormones that her mom and Janine are always warning her about, but Claudia needs Ashley like she needs air. Their bodies fit together like two jigsaw puzzle pieces, like they're really one person instead of two. A part of her wishes that that could be true, that they could melt together like candle wax, until an outsider cannot tell where one girl ends and the other begins.

And really, what right do the other kids have to judge her? She's sat through the hour-long assemblies led by stern-faced police officers, then watched her classmates light it up under the bleachers not even twenty minutes after the auditorium emptied. Everyone's got a hit they need to take - Claudia's just so happens to be both her drug and dealer. Judging by the way Ashley grabs her, the feeling's mutual. Leaving - forcing Ashley to detox - would be far crueler than anything her snot-nosed peers could ever jeer at her between classes.
