Everything was eerily silent. There was no sound, save for the last of the crackling electricity darting along the pool water. Blitzo and Millie had defeated the infamous infestor demon Rolando, the one who had been haunting and killing the guests at the One Star Wonder hotel. He had been fried by the electricity from Blitzo's ghostfucker device and had sunken to the bottom afterwards.

The pool was eventually drained and closed off in the morning so the guests wouldn't get hurt. The bottom of the pool was empty, save for several stains of black demon blood. The workers cleaning the pool should've been terrified at the sight of Rolando's bloated corpse at the bottom…and promptly burned it on sight.

But the demon was nowhere to be found.

There was no evidence of his appearance, save for leftover black goo settling within the pool pipes.

All the guests were relieved that the hauntings and mysterious murders had come to an end. A new manager was appointed for the hotel and the hunchbacked drooling bellhop, Toledo the Igor continued dragging people's luggage to their rooms, oblivious of the fate of his old master. A few guests stayed in an ocean-themed room, one where Rolando supposedly stayed at. All his crime scene photos and old family portraits had been thrown out by inspectors coming into the room. With all his old possessions gone, it was as if he had never existed. But many of the guests still recall the legend of the One Star Wonder ghost every Halloween.

It was soon night and the guests were asleep. The ocean-themed room was empty save for regular furniture and the guests' belongings.

There was nothing else abnormal about the place.

At least, with the exception of a mysterious small purple diamond crystal tucked inside the bedside table drawer.

One of the sleepy guests half-opened his eyes to see the drawer partially open. He thought it had been closed moments before, but didn't think much of it. So, he closed his eyes and surrendered to slumber.

An object clattered to the floor. A girl sleeping beside the man groaned and slowly blinked herself awake.

"Huh?"

She sat up. An eerie light illuminated the room from a diamond-shaped portal off to the side.

What she saw before her was too terrifying and grotesque for her to comprehend.

A slumping tall figure stood with his arms bent at awkward angles. The creature had worn hotel clothing, but much of it was torn and charred. His dark-gray skin was burned and black, much of it peeling off. Transparent white fins and fin ears had been reduced to stubs, and whatever hair he had on his head was long gone. His neck was bent to the side and some of his fangs were missing. Worst of all were his glowing yellow eyes…one was completely missing while the other barely worked at all. Dried black blood stained the area around his eyes.

The monster jerked and let out a low pained groan.

She closed her eyes in terror and when she opened them, the monster and light were gone.

She sobbed and clutched at her dad who groaned.

"What is it?"

"Daddy! I-I'm scared!"

"Hey, Sarah, it's okay," he said, holding her close and whispering "shh-shh."

"It was a m-monster…"

"There's no such thing as monsters," he said with a yawn. "It was just a nightmare, okay?"

Sarah whimpered.

"Are you alright, sweetie?" asked the dad.

The girl took a breath and nodded.

"Go back to sleep," he said. "I'm right here."

Sarah snuggled much closer to her father and soon fell asleep.
